overdue & bored of waiting....

anyone else?

I'm only 40+2, but DD arrived at 33+5, and we all (Drs included) expected this one to come early too so I've been ready & waiting for about 8 weeks now....

I'm obviously very pleased that this one has behaved itself & stayed in an appropriate amount of time, but honestly... it can come out now! I'm down to my last 3 raspberry leaf tea bags, have had 2 reflexology sessions, & am bored of curry - if it carries on for too much longer I might even have to contemplate having sex! Shock

I'm 40+7 and very bored. There's no way I could contemplate having sex!!

To think I rushed around and had my hair cut and did lots of food shopping ready for bubba's arrival - the foods now been munched and I can see my roots coming though!!

It won't be too much longer for us both I'm sure.

firstsupermum · 16/04/2011 22:22

hi, just a bit of more pation, it will come, i was lat for my fisrt 2weeks in well, doesnt want to came, he is now 2years, good luck, you will even forgot about this waiting time once you hold your baby.

bessie26 · 16/04/2011 22:38

first 2 weeks overdue? you poor thing! I know I shouldn't complain - it is only 2 days over, which is nothing - I think it's just that I've been ready for it's arrival for so long!

dartford I rushed around at 30weeks getting everything ready.... then again at 34... then again at 38 - I keep thinking "this is the last chance I'll get to do any cleaning/shopping/sleeping for 3 months" - and then I have to do it all again

I'm seeing the MW on tues & I think I will be taking her up on her offer of a sweep!

I'm 39+2 and am tearing my hair out - can't stand the idea that this could go on for another few weeks! My 1st baby was a week early so I think I had pinned my hopes on this one being early too.
I have planned a mega food shop on Wednesday when my DD is at the childminders so I'm guessing that will be when the new DD decides to put in an appearance - leaving us with absolutely no food in the house :) Either that or she will come today when I am stuck on a farm in the middle of the yorkshire dales - nothing like tempting fate!
Not sure I would be desperate enough to contemplate sex though Shock Grin

Pootletrinket · 17/04/2011 12:44

Can I join in, please?! Am 40+5, booked sweep for Tuesday and they're talking about 'booking for induction' which I won't do (shan't and they can't make me :o)

Had 6 reflexology sessions, ran out of raspberry leaf tea this morning and keep putting off the sex idea with an increasingly determined/insistent/pleading DH - surely has to be better than a sweep, no?!!

4pudding · 17/04/2011 19:33

I'm 37+2 and today is the day DD1 was born, but have a feeling this one is going to stick around a bit longer :-(

Like you I've had it in my head this one would be here by now, finally starting to Dawn on me that I could be waiting another month!

luluzulu · 17/04/2011 20:52

was just saying today that i cant cope any longer but still a few weeks to go ha ha its the sleepless nights/return of the morning sickness/ whale-like reflection in the mirror and boredom that is getting me this way. oh and excitement!!!! everytime i go to toilet i'm hoping for 'the show' and i am drinking plenty rasberry leaf tea..come on baby the anticipation is KILLING me!

luluzulu · 17/04/2011 21:13

i know i'm not overddue but wanted a moan

toobreathless · 17/04/2011 22:31

40+6 here and fed up. Itchy all over (nothing serious just pregnancy induced itching!)

I've tried raspberry leaf tea (since 36/40), sex, curries and long walks. Midwife attempted a sweep today & couldn't as things not favourable enough. I almost cried!

Pootletrinket · 18/04/2011 08:50

40+6 today as well; also getting itchy from time to time - legs, hands - eek, glad to know I'm not the only one!

Even tried the sex thing last night which was rather uncomfortable and slightly painful tbh, so it had better work or I'll be demanding a refund!!

Hoing am favourable enough for a sweep tmw if baba hasn't put in an appearance by then, sorry to hear you weren't toobreathless are they going to try again in a few days?

bessie26 · 18/04/2011 14:12

I'm still here - are you? I realised I managed to get the days wrong so I am only 40+2 today

Am seeing MW tomorrow & am going to take her up on her offer of a sweep so FX baby will be out on weds! Am so sorry to hear you couldn't have one too can they try again in another few days?

Does anyone know if/what is likely to happen directly after the sweep? It's a pita to park at my surgery so I usually walk (only 15-20 mins) but wondered if that was wise!?

pootle well done on the sex thing. I hope it was worth it!! I've had reoccurring thrush this pg (never had it before!) which flares up everytime we attempt it, so I'm not going to be trying it!!

FFS I was due on Friday so I am 40+3 today! Who'd have thought that counting to 3 could be so difficult! Blush

OP posts:
Pootletrinket · 18/04/2011 14:35

I hope so, too, but counting the hours!!! Got a clean kitchen and dining room as a result! Off to do living room now!

bessie26 · 19/04/2011 10:05

pootle I'm very impressed with all your cleaning, but I'm going for a walk in the sunshine this morning! Grin Sweep this arvo...

OP posts:
Pootletrinket · 19/04/2011 10:26

Good luck, mine was failed attempt....

bessie26 · 19/04/2011 12:34

oh no! will they try again soon?

OP posts:
Pootletrinket · 19/04/2011 13:20

They said not much point, but am now unclear as to why, so have phoned back to ask...!!

jurassicpark · 19/04/2011 13:26

Am 40+6 today and itchy too!

Had an attempted sweep last week but turns out my cervix was too posterior though baby's head was pretty far down. Wouldn't it be great to be able to monitor progress yourself. I'd love to plan some nice things in the sunshine but feel chained to the house at the moment.

bessie26 · 19/04/2011 16:43

Jurassic will they be able to try again or will your cervix stay posterior? (not really sure what that means!)

pootle hope you get a good answer!

I had my sweep ok, she was pretty hopeful it would work, but I am booked in for an induction on the 27th just incase!

I know what you mean about not really wanting to stray too far from home, luckily I have plenty to keep me busy in the garden!

DH & I have just been out for a ice-cream long walk in the sunshine & I've not had a nap today so I'm knackered but hopeful that I'll be able to get to sleep early tonight & wake up in the morning in labour!

OP posts:
jurassicpark · 19/04/2011 17:01

oooh, ice cream sounds great.

Cervix was too far back to reach as MW thinks baby is back to back at moment. Going back in for another attempt on Thursday.

Hope your sweep works out Bessie. I'm back to constant BH contractions this afternoon and headbutting of my bladder. I should encourage the headbutting, might push its way out (ah...if only).

I'm sure I read on MN that someone was convinced Gin and Tonics brought on labour which is such a lovely thing to believe in this weather.

Good luck for this evening ladies.

Pootletrinket · 19/04/2011 17:14

Fingers crossd Bessie!!

Am hoping for another attempt on Thurs as well, but MW just said baby was too high up - but am hoping that changes.

G&T? Could try that, have tried everything else!!

bessie26 · 19/04/2011 20:19

Oooh back-to-back doesn't sound good jurasic have you looked at the spinning babies site to see if you can get it to move round? (I've never used it, but have heard great things about it)

I've just had a curry for dinner & am planning a bath & am early night just in case! (FX!) Gin & Tonic sounds lush, I think I may dream of those tonight!! Grin

Hope Thursday works out for you both!

40+5 & still at home Sad

OP posts:
Pootletrinket · 20/04/2011 08:39

Yup, Besse, me too - 40+8.

MW agreed I could try another sweep tmw, but said that she thought it was pointless - nothing like optimism, eh?!

They've booked my induction for 40+14 but have said I will not consent!

Maybe time for that &T tonight

Pootletrinket · 20/04/2011 08:39

G&T!!!
