Blue I have to say I lost a few brain cells when I was pregnant with DD and never regained them lol.

I didn't do too much at work either. 2 ppl at work know now tho, its just everyone else now. Although good that they have both agreed to keep quiet

Felicific · 18/04/2011 17:05

mopsytop your post made me smile, nice to know someone else is feeling guilty about not working, have been avoiding it myself all day - so much for distraction free week working at home! Don't really want to think about how we'll prob get more tired as weeks go on Hmm

DarciesmumandBump2 · 18/04/2011 17:55

Felicific Sorry if I missed reading this but have you told anyone yet?

adalle · 18/04/2011 18:22

My worry is how to keep it from people at work in the early weeks when I have so many appointments they are bound to get suspicious and I don't want to say anything till I'm at a safer stage. Ideally want to tell them in late May early June. or better still end of June. And I haven't got the MS yet that might be a dead giveaway.

mopsytop · 18/04/2011 18:31

I actually told my 2 closest friends at work because I have really bad nausea and because I work away from home all week (in a different town to my husband - but this stops end August luckily!) I need someone here that knows. I would tell them anyway if I miscarried so I think it's okay. But otherwise noone. Eeek! I want to wait til at least 12 week scan over I think.

I am pleased, I worked really hard for 3 hours. It actually totally stopped me worrying anyway, which is a good thing!

I think I'm due 01st December called drs today can't see a midwife until 11th may I'll be 11 weeks by then without any medical confirmation/examination I think that's weird.

Finding it strange have nOt had any symptoms yet other than complete lack of appetite and tightness around my pelvic bone keep worryIng it's a bad sign and with another 3 weeks until can see someone am gonna be a wreck.

How old are we all due in Decembers?

DarciesmumandBump2 · 18/04/2011 18:47

Figgy Thats along time until you can see a mw. Can you call them direct for an earlier appt?

figgygal · 18/04/2011 18:59

We have a midwife team that works out of one of the local surgeries spoke to them today and that was first appointment they had I might call them again tomorrow see if there's anything they can do. It's all the bank holidays meaning they have people off in between. I don't want to wait that long but don't want to start off on wrong foot either by being a crazed first timer who demands an appointment.

My other worry is that what I've been thinking was my last period was implantation bleeding ( haven't had any otherwise) as it was early for my cycle and I don't think lasted as long and if that's the case will be 14 weeks by then and that's not even a scan.

Don't want to get attached and then have a problem :-(

Felicific · 18/04/2011 19:00

Darciesmum No I haven't but may have to tell my best friend as sickness has already made me cancel one gym session tonight. Did anyone else get sick this early (week 4)? Entered my mind that perhaps i'm further along but don't think it's really poss as ovulation sticks gave us a good idea of dates.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 18/04/2011 19:02

Felicific You can get nausea this early. I did with the baby I sadly miscarried in 2008 and that was 24/7 sickness :(

Figgy Can your GPs book you in for an early scan? they should just be able to refer you to the US dept at your local hospital.

Felicific · 18/04/2011 19:11

Darciesmum Sorry to hear about your loss :(

Don't much like the idea of 24/7 sickness, perhaps I'll try acupuncture soon to try to prevent it getting worse. Has anyone had any acupuncture or reflexology? I had reflexology two weeks ago for fertility (!) and the lady in before me said she'd been trying 6 months and was now due 5th dec! That woman must have healing hands.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 18/04/2011 19:15

Thank you.

I had reflexology that brought my labour on with DD, will be trying that again in Dec :)

My mum says acupuncture is brilliant.

Felicific · 18/04/2011 19:20

I've had acupucture for migraines in the past and haven't really suffered from them for a few years. Actually wondering if i'm feeling sick more as a result of hormone induced headache - really don't mind, this is fun :0

Going for a soak in the bath to try and get rid of these knotted shoulders (I can hear a small violing playing somewhere!)

DarciesmumandBump2 · 18/04/2011 19:29

Hormones will be the answer to everything until early next yr Grin

mopsytop · 19/04/2011 10:10

Hey I have been feeling sick since implantation. Mainly all day. So I think it is definitely possible. I am not seeing midwife until week after Easter but that is only week 6 or 7 so that's fine. I think it's normal not to see them for a while. But when I rang to make appointment they told me to call in and get a 'bounty pack' which I did this morning. Perhaps you should ask for one? will take a look now and see what is in it!

Sorry to hear about your miscarriage Felicific. I really hope we are all okay and are all still on here until December getting bigger together! I am 33. First baby. I guess that is kind of old for a first? I don't know actually! I am one of 6 kids and my mum only had the first at 30. Her mum only had her first at 30 or 31. So I guess it is not that old really.

Thx for all the welcomes (and cake) reading the thread you sound like such an active bunch maybe that's the life once DCs arrive and I have that to look forward to!

I was introduced to meditation for migraines and stress and it is fab if you get the time and space to try I recommend it.

As for sickness I have none yet dreading when it will come!

adalle · 19/04/2011 11:27

Soz pg brain I managed to answer 3 different threads in one there !

mopsytop · 19/04/2011 11:29

I was a bit confused about the cake!

Felicific · 19/04/2011 11:57

Morning/afternoon all! Feeling much better re sickenss today so attempting to plough through as much work as poss - although will be having lunch in the park in the sunshine so won't count how many hours I actually do :)

Going to tell my friend tonight so good or bad will have her close by eek!

I rang the docs to book an appointment but didn't specify what for - do you think I should do? I thought they just need to register you as it were to book you in for appointments with your local midwife.

mopsytop · 19/04/2011 12:00

I rang and specified and they made me an appointment with the midwife straight away, don't need to go via doc at least not in my surgery. So if it's the same in yours and you don't want to be bothered going in only to have to make another appointment, maybe ring back? It might be different though!

OP posts:
Felicific · 19/04/2011 12:08

Well I tried phoning and was tole doctor could tell me as much as midwife and to just keep appt - not sure he really understood that I didn't want to waste my time or theirs if they were just going to book me in with the midwife anyway! Think he couldn't be bothered to cancel appt. Oh well.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 19/04/2011 15:54

Mopsy Thanks I'm FX this time too. 30 is not old to be having your first. Although I thought I was old at 22 when I had DD compared to most of the women in this area!

I have to see the dr first before they will book me in with midwife maybe some practices differ slightly.

mopsytop · 19/04/2011 15:58

I am 33! Feels a lot older than 30 in terms of pregnancy.

OP posts:
DarciesmumandBump2 · 19/04/2011 16:48

You'll be fine :) your as old as you feel.
