Oh dear Teacup. I know how you feel I was a bit like that yesterday as lots of pains but seem okay today. Try not to panic. I think worrying is entirely normal though. Apparently a lot of the pains are your womb stretching and are totally normal. Hope you are okay.

Sorry guys I am all over the place today. Calmed down a bit now. Little pains still there though. Not period cramping and no sign of blood. Hope I can calm down or the next few weeks will be exhausting!!

Felicific · 20/04/2011 12:22

That's what this forum is here for :) Feeling tearful does make it much harder to brush off pains. Glad you're feeling a little better - can you do something to take your mind off it maybe?

goodegg · 20/04/2011 12:22

Teacup please try not to worry! I had constant cramps for the week when my period shouldve arrived, and still do off and on. I find keeping moving helps, I had a very long car journey and I had major pains.

This is the most scary time for us all though, I can't wait til I'm 12 weeks and can safely tell everyone. I just told my mum on the phone, she cried Smile and says she's going to start knitting things Hmm

BlueCrane · 20/04/2011 12:24

Stay calm teacup I've had loads of pains and cramps in the last couple of weeks and have been told not to worry unless there's any blood to accompany the pain.

mopsy no harm in looking! Though I'm probably not a good person to advise as I have a secret stash of mat clothes I got online in the Jan sales when we'd just started TTC Blush DH would not be pleased if he found out but think they'll def come in useful soon! In fact I've just been doing a list of what mat clothes I'll need to get and trying to limit the list and include multi-functional things to avoid spending a fortune! I also looked on ebay last night as can't seem to find many short leg length trousers left in stock anywhere!

goodegg · 20/04/2011 12:30

BlueCrane I want a lovely stretchy Isabella Oliver dress like this but I'll blatantly be a big fat blimp and not a lovely svelte thing with a neat bump!

Having visited the Isabella Oliver site, they have a 60% off sale Smile

Felicific · 20/04/2011 12:34

goodegg what have you done, I now have a great site to distract me and encourage early buying! Lovely dresses :)

mopsytop · 20/04/2011 12:35

teacup wish I could be more help, but this is what the forum is for! Don't worry about feeling nervous, I think it's the most normal reaction there is! I have been obsessively knicker checking ever since I found out, and in fact said the exact same thing to my husband last night re: calming down or how will I get through next 2 months.

I goodegg I fear I too will just be a blimp rather than having a lovely neat bump. I would love to be able to wear lovely tight clothes that show off a neat little bump but I suspect for the next 5 months I will just look like a plumposity.

Thanks everyone :) Boss (my DH) just let me have a long break in the sun with a book. Still stuff going on down there but no blood and I am feeling more relaxed. Also its not getting worse so that might be a good sign. I have had pains like this on and off the whole time. I just keep hoping they will stop.

Going to try and scoop myself and get positive. Can't hurt to look on the good side.

Thanks again

goodegg · 20/04/2011 14:12

It's apparently your uterus stretching, I read somewhere that it doubles in size in the first 7 weeks. It's entirely normal, don't wish it away - it means everything's going as it should Smile

mopsytop · 20/04/2011 14:13

Just had a burst of pure excitement girls! It is lovely after the past week of worry worry worry. A gorgeous little baby! Yay! Nausea, pains, everything will be worth that!

Nice link good egg! I am having simlar fuzzy moments mopsytop :) I must stop touching my tummy though otherwise everyone will know!! Going back to work next week after some Easter time off...
Hello teacup!( you all have such cute user names-jealous!) I know how you feel, but think of it this way, the chances of everything going smoothly and there being no problems, is actually much higher than the chances of anything going wrong. Let's all think happy thoughts and send each other positive vibes ~~~~~~! ;)
Has anyone checked out the baby names on this site? V funny - the random names button came up with 'Bristol' and 'Tequila'!

TeacupTempest · 20/04/2011 14:45

Bristol and Tequila Confused Hilarious!! I did look after Bailey once but somehow that seems a little more acceptable!

Wiwa · 20/04/2011 14:47

I just hope I have twins, so I don't have to choose between the two!

mopsytop · 20/04/2011 15:13

:) I am one of a multiple birth. Wonder if it will up my chances of having multiple birth myself! Hope not - would be even more nervewracking!

Ernie1 · 20/04/2011 15:31

LOL at Bristol and Tequila! Do people really call their kids that? How about Aftershock and Weston-super-mare too? I just got Spud and Gweneira. Seriously.

Anyway - my nausea is really kicking in now (7+5) and I can't wait until 1st tri is over. Fingers crossed it will stop then.

We are telling our families on Easter Sunday too.

Wiwa · 20/04/2011 15:32

Probably! Can you imagine?! Just to make it clear- I will not be naming baby Bristol or tequila!DH has some funny ideas, but the girl gets to choose right?!

mopsytop · 20/04/2011 15:33

well those people in NZ were brought to court for naming their twins Benson and Hedges, so I guess anything is possible! Even Bristol and Tequila is better than Benson and Hedges!!

OP posts:
Felicific · 20/04/2011 15:37

Maybe Robson and Jerome would be fairer....

Wiwa · 20/04/2011 15:39

Lol!

BlueCrane · 20/04/2011 16:12

goodegg there is no way I could get away with that dress either Grin would look like an egg on legs I think...nice dress though!!

Felicific · 20/04/2011 16:16

Very strange, just had to tell a stranger on the phone that I'd hopefully be 14 weeks early July as I needed to know if I could have their massage on a hen do! Apparently they won't even let you have a facial before 12 week mark.

mopsytop · 20/04/2011 16:18

That website is nice, but the model - honestly - I would love to look like that when several months pregnant. How many people actually do though?!

Felicific how come they won't before 12 weeks? How could a facial hurt?
Oooh would love a back massage - is that not allowed then?

DarciesmumandBump2 · 20/04/2011 16:23

Hey Ladies.

Love those dresses. However, if I got as big as I did last time it would not look flattering lol.

Shock at those names

Well went for my appt at the docs, decided where I want to give birth and she agreed to the birthing centre yay for me. My mum, however, will have a few words to say about the hospital I will be going to if all else fails, its the one across the border in west sussex so not looking forward to that conversation.

Got my midwife booking in appt next weds 3:15pm her name is Melody. Got the Emmas Diary and the info about the maternity unit at the hospital so the ball has started rolling Grin. The doc said about the timing of boxing day lol, said DD was born at 39wks so heres to hoping even then she said still what a week to have a baby lol. Said about diet, told her all the things I know to avoid and she said I knew more than she did!

My boobs every now and then hurt but nothing dramatically different in size!

Feel hungry and sick at the same time which is not good.

Felicific · 20/04/2011 16:56

Glad you got your first choice Darciesmum I have my appt tomorrow but as we maybe moving i'm not sure what to do about choosing a hospital. Lots of maternity unit have had resources cut so if you end up phoning and no one there you have to go to the main hospital - I think i'd rather have a home birth.

mopsytop they said they wouldn't risk anything but and file and paint on your hands/feet :) Allowed a massage after 12 there and I think when I've read about preg massage it's said after first trimester.
