Yaaay Mopsy glad it all went ok.

How much weight have people put on I've only put on 5lbs at 14+3 but feel massive am still in all my clothes too but looked Down yesterday and I had a Gut!! Getting annoyed my boobs aren't growing at all. Must confess to eating crisps everyday loving salt and vinegar at the moment.

Honestly if it wasn't for having seen it in the scan I'd still be doubtful there was one in there. Downs screening came back 1:10,000 so happy with that.

Littlepic · 13/06/2011 19:30

Congratulations mopstop, that's great news. I'm very jealous as I've got to wait till Friday for my scan!!! xxx

Awomancalledhorse · 13/06/2011 19:44

Glad everything went well mopsytop!
Got my blood test results back today, I'm not immune to Rubella..which has got me in a bit of a tiz as I know my older brother was born with it (I know that doesn't mean anything, but it's not stopped me going 'ARRRRRRGH!, esp. after reading up on it on the NHS website).

Figgygal, I'm now 12lbs (almost a fricckin stone!) heavier than pre-pregnancy weight. Wore one of my massive time of the month tops today, and you could see my bump through that.

Felicific · 13/06/2011 19:48

figgygal I don't think i've put on any weight but my tunny has ballooned and looks huge to me. Clothes still ok though. Really craving salt too, especially crisps. On holiday last week I had chips every day as only really fancied that with salad and plain meat/fish. Must try harder to eat more veg this week!

Good news on screening number, hope mines as good on Fri.

ElleEW34 · 13/06/2011 22:39

mopsy big congratulations for a good scan result today. :) So pleased to hear that.

Happy to report that I had a similarly positive outcome today. Official Due date is 29th Dec, 2 days later than the doc. So not far out. Initial measurements and tests of the baby all normal so it was a huge relief!

He/she was quite the little wriggler to begin with, jumping up and down and waving it's little arms and legs - think all the prodding was a shock for him/her. Then we settled down after a few 360 turns to have the photo taken, which was great. The sonographer was so lovely, explaining everything she was checking (brain, organs, limbs, etc) and how they looked at this stage to her. So helpful.

Can't wait for the next scan now! Told our Mums today - big day!

ElleEW34 · 13/06/2011 22:46

figgy and felicific - I am the same with salty things and esp salt and vinegar crisps (was always a cheese and onion girl! Very odd isn't it?!

Good luck for Friday felicific.

kri5ty · 14/06/2011 08:32

Congrats mopsytop and ElleEW34 its so lovely to hear everyone is getting great news!!

figgygal i have put just over half a stone on, but most of that was in the first 8 weeks, the past 4 i havent really put that much on! And i am loving fatty/ salty foods!!

mopsytop · 14/06/2011 09:45

Yay Elle - brilliant! Isn't it so great to see its little arms wiggling? Awww.
Figgy I have put on 3lb but to be frank was well podge beforehand anyway. Surprised I didn't lose to be honest what with vomming all the time and no alcohol. Very surprised in fact. So maybe I put on more if you see what I mean.

I also am same re: vinegar, in fact I started a thread on it as I was craving chips and vinegar and it appears to be very common.

Hope the week goes fast until Friday felicific, it felt like forever while I was waiting for my scan, but don't worry it will pass sooner than you think!

Awomancalledhorse · 15/06/2011 11:45

How is everyone doing? mopsy has the morning sickness been better today?

I've just realised how covered in strech marks I am; on boobs & the sides of my stomach & back I've got some lovely fresh ones to go with the ones I've always had on my outer thighs & back of my calves, grrrhh! Anyone else started to get them yet?

kri5ty · 15/06/2011 12:55

yeh Awomancalledhorse :( i already have loads from a growth spurt when i was younger all over my thighs and bum... now im getting them on my boobs, just hope i dont get any on my tummy... let the bio oil commence!

mopsytop · 16/06/2011 17:00

None so far. Plenty of time for them to appear though!

Has anyone tried acupuncture in pregnancy? Is it safe? Want to try it for my headaches.

OP posts:
kri5ty · 17/06/2011 07:43

mopsy it is safe, as i have been thinking about it for my ME, but you have to make sure the person you go to is qualified and experienced in dealing with us pregnant ladies :)

Everything crossed it helps you, i have had it a few years ago and it was fab... i just couldnt afford it any longer x

OiMissus · 17/06/2011 07:48

Ooh - you're scaring me with talks of stretch marks already. I thought I still had time before I need to get religious with an oil can! Yikes! Rightio, Bio oil on the shopping list tonight! Is that the best to try and avoid them?

kri5ty · 17/06/2011 08:15

OiMissus i am prone to them anyway, im quite slim, and have never relly put weight on... but i have loads, i must have un stretchy skin haha

From all the posts i have read bio oil is the best, although i have to say im rubbish at remembering to put it on, i got a pack of 3 off ebay for a good deal, around £10 each, much cheaper than the shops!

Felicific · 17/06/2011 08:44

mopsytop I read into acupunture when I was getting migraine like days and think the majority of practitioners will do after 12 weeks so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding someone. I've had it in the past and very good although they do warn that certain points can trigger a migraine which can last a couple of days. That happened to me (needle in my left eyebrow and I went white!). Still worth it though.

Scan this morning! Been sick in the night with migraine of sorts and still feel pants so should get off computer. Hope everyone has a stretchy skin day :)

kri5ty · 17/06/2011 08:50

Felicific good luck for your scan tomorrow :) i bet you can't wait!!

mopsytop · 17/06/2011 08:58

Good luck for your scan Felicific - yay!

Oh dear, have a bad pain in my lower stomach this morning and feeling a bit dizzy and unwell. Midwife said I'd better go and get checked out in GP this morning but earliest appointment is midday. Bit worried, trying to stay calm. No bleeding or anything though which is good, but the pain is quite bad.

OP posts:
Awomancalledhorse · 17/06/2011 11:10

Felicific, good luck at the scan!
mopsytop, hope it's nothing serious, good luck at GP's.

kri5ty · 17/06/2011 11:45

mopsy could it be a uti?? hope everything is ok x

mopsytop · 17/06/2011 11:51

Don't know. Just going to GP now. luckily it's nearly next door. Will let you know.

OP posts:
kri5ty · 17/06/2011 11:53

good luck hun xxx

OiMissus · 17/06/2011 12:41

Not sure what a uti is - (I need to sharpen up with these acronyms!) - but GOOD LUCK!
Hope everything is OK. XXX

mopsytop · 17/06/2011 12:49

The doctor said it was a gastro infection. He said that he doesn't think it's a uti (urinary tract infection) as if it was it would hurt to pee. he didn't really check much at all, just felt my tummy a bit. I am still worried now.
