Welcome to all newbies and congrats!

re: the diahorrea discussion, I am also suffering (quite badly sometimes), the midwife said it's normal, as body changing so much.

re: the boob discussion, I have gone from a B to a DD. I hate it! I much preferred my boobs the way they were, in fact, they were my favourite part of the body, one of the parts I was truly happy with! I went and got a new one on Friday, but it's no wire and I always wear underwire and it just looks so huge! Ugh :(

I have spent most of weekend doing this presentation and then practising it and changing it but just relaxing for an hour now before bed. It's tomorrow morning around half ten. Hope I do okay. Ugh I hate presenting. Going to practise in front of a friend tomorrow at 8am, so hope that helps and gives me more confidence! I had a bad head again yesterday but today it seems a little better, as does the nausea. SUCH a relief, lets hope it stays that way now, esp for tomorrow morning! Imagine if I had to puke in middle of my talk!

Hello ladies... welcome to all newbies.

We got our scan date! Hoorah - 2 weeks today on 23rd. Its my birthday on 22nd so was hoping it would be the week before so I would be able to tell people why I'm not drinking!

antheasa · 09/05/2011 10:06

Morning Ladies :)

Hope you all had a great weekend, felt absolutely terrible but got medicine at the chemist for morning sickness and it worked fantastically.

Good luck this morning mopsy thinking of you during your presentation :o

feeling much better this morning and managed to get up and go to gym so hopefully the start to a much better week!!!

BlueCrane · 09/05/2011 14:53

antheasa well done on getting to the gym!! Am impressed! I had an awful night's 'sleep' you know the kind where you feel that you haven't actually slept at all?! So there was no way I would be up exercising this morning! Suprisingly I actually felt ok at work this morning but the tiredness has just hit me hard and nausea is back - I just want to go and lie down but instead sat at my desk trying to look busy (bit quiet here at the mo so not much to do which isn't helping take my mind off it all!) Off to see a friend for dinner and meet her new DP tonight so hopefully I'll perk up soon!

mopsy hope the presentation has gone well!

mopsytop · 09/05/2011 14:57

hi all, breaking my rule about posting during the day. Presentation went really well - yay! Had loads of questions and all of them were nice ones, phew! I feel so relieved. It went as well as it could have gone. So my hard work paid off! And as an extra bonus no headache today and only very mild nausea. Woohoo!

Well done mysoptop glad it's all over and went well :)

I was meant to be doing a pres today but taking few days off as has big bleed Sat. After many tears at a&e they finally scanned me and still heartbeat. Soooo stressful, the male nurse who I had to get through to to get to EPU was an utter moron "it won't make any difference as you had a scan on Mon" "I know how you feel" and "calm down" were some of his best lines. Did like telling him that of course a urine sample would show I am still pregant and was no reassurance!!! What an idiot.

Sorry rant over, just putting feet up and keeping fingers crossed.

Hope everyone else is ok?

BlueCrane · 09/05/2011 16:42

Well done mopsy and so glad about lack of headache and nausea today!!

felicific take it easy and well done for persisting with them to get another scan...how exactly did the male nurse expect you to feel consoled by his statement that 'he knew how you felt' Shock

I'm still trying to get hold of the hospital to find out what's happened to my booking in app...I have the scan booked for 26th but still no booking in - very odd! Hmm

antheasa · 09/05/2011 18:43

Shame felicific keeping my fingers crossed for u, but they do have a way of hanging in there.

Well day was good until I got evening morning sickness hahahaha feels like this is never going to end. A friend of mine said to me on the weekend that I must just wait before I know it will be bouncing of the walls and cleaning constantly and apparently loving my dear DH terribly Blush

Well thats what we have to look forward to.

mopsytop · 09/05/2011 19:26

Oh dear felicific what a horrible time. And ugh what an unhelpful male nurse
:( I hope everything is okay now. Fingers crossed very hard for you.

I went to Marks and got another DD bra this evening (it feels SO weird after being a B cup for the past 15 years). Why is it necessary for bras without underwire to be so frumpy? Managed to find one bearable one but honestly, some of them are just so frumptastic!

I got my scan date today - 13th June - 5 weeks today. Will just be in my 13th week. Fingers crossed of course that everything is okay with the bean up til then. Feeling excited about it, and my husband is going to take the day off and come down to be there with me.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/05/2011 19:27

Well done Mopsy

Felicific hope your taking it easy.

I have really bad back ache today :( I suffer with my back previous to pregnancy but it is worrying, as I had cramp the other day although no bleeding. Could poss be UTI as I don't think i've been drinking enough tbh and feels like its near my kidneys.

right ironing & packing to be done tonight, and I need to make some birthday cards to take into work tomorrow.

zambooloo · 09/05/2011 19:45

Glad your presentation went well Mopsy. Glad you got your scan date through.
Felicific - thinking of you, try not to worry xx
Darcies - sorry to hear about your backache. I've had backache on and off from the beginning. Dr said not to worry about it, apparently perfectly normal. Enjoy your hol!

I've still got diarrhoea but thankfully only 1st thing in morning and in evening. My classroom is about a mile from a toilet so would not be good during work time! Still worrying a bit about it but NHS direct said not to worry so I guess I should believe them!

mopsytop · 09/05/2011 20:12

Hey Darcies what a bugger to have back ache. I am sure it's just another of these pesky early pregnancy symptoms :( But I won't say don't worry because I worry all the time about every single twinge. But if you suffer from back pain anyway, it's likely to be normal, no? Anything I suffer from normally seems to be ten times worse now!

Zambo if it makes you feel any better I too am suffering and it also seems to be mainly first thing in morning and evening. Sometimes middle of day. After I eat I guess. It can be an issue if not near a loo! I go in late some mornings because of it. So you are not alone and my midwife said it's totally normal.

OP posts:
zambooloo · 09/05/2011 20:18

Yup, mine seems to be as soon as I get up and then after I've eaten dinner. Glad the midwife said it is ok, how long have you had it for mopsy ?

mopsytop · 09/05/2011 20:24

I think since the first week I was pregnant! Some days it is worse than others, some days not bad at all, some days so bad I can't leave the house until it passes. It is worrying sometimes as it is painful and the pain feels very similar to period cramps.

OP posts:
mopsytop · 09/05/2011 20:25

In fact, I just finished dinner and - right on cue, pain appearing as I type this! Grrrrr. So glamorous!

OP posts:
zambooloo · 09/05/2011 20:31

Mine isn't painful, the need to go just suddenly comes over me! I know, so totally glamorous and attractive, at least we aren't alone. Sympathy on MN is great! I'm going to have a bath now as it helps to soothe my aching boobs Blush

DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/05/2011 20:32

Thanks ladies.

Don't envy you with the Diarrhoea - thankfully don't have that. Only had that when i went into labour with DD. Hopefully won't last all pregnancy.

Mopsy Its probably very normal, but because i've never experienced the worry of early pregnancy before everything makes me wonder - I think its men who make you wait so late for a dating scan at least. I'm wondering how we are all sane!

mopsytop · 09/05/2011 20:37

Yep I know, I am questioning every single thing - things I probably wouldn't even notice if I wasn't pregnant!

I don't know how I am going to wait 5 weeks until the scan! Argh. Considering I have only known I was pregnant for less than 4 weeks and that feels like AAAGGEESS!

OP posts:
zambooloo · 09/05/2011 20:40

I've got about 5 weeks until scan as well, crazy that we've only known for 4 weeks - I now can't imagine a time when I didn't know I was pregnant. I'm trying to think 1 week at a time.

DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/05/2011 20:41

Mopsy when is your scan? its 5 weeks until mine.
I'm going to invest in a home fetal doppler to try and put my mind at rest.

mopsytop · 09/05/2011 20:51

It's 5 weeks today. Can a fetal doppler already pick up the heartbeat this early?

OP posts:
DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/05/2011 20:57

ahh mine is in 5 weeks too except its on the thursday :)

Someone on another thread has one and said she's been able to hear it.

mopsytop · 09/05/2011 20:59

I thought they didn't work until around 12 weeks? Maybe I am wrong.
But I thought hmm it seems we are doomed to just worry for the first trimester.

OP posts:
zambooloo · 09/05/2011 21:00

Mine is on the thursday too - 9th June? It's 2 days after my 30th. Was really hoping to have it done by my birthday so we would know for sure by then!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 09/05/2011 21:00

she said shes been able to pick it up intermittantly since 8 weeks.
