Afternoon all!!

Am just over 6 weeks pregnant - due in December! :D

Over the moon - DH and I stopped trying to stop having a baby (if you know what I mean...) 2 weeks later... morning sickness and a positive test! In typical male form he of course is raving about his super swimmers!

Would love to chat with some other pregnant people, especially if you're London/Kent based... am in need of other paranoid, grumpy people to talk with...

Hello

Am new to mumsnet and due 19th Dec with my first.. based in North West..

Am already unfortunately on medication (promethazine) due to sickness but it has really helped and am able to get out of bed/keep water down!

BlueCrane · 07/05/2011 14:00

Welcome mummytobe and disco and congratulations Grin sorry you've not been well disco

I'm feeling a bit lost, DH took me out for a lovely brunch (though I could've eaten everything on offer at the little cafe I was so hungry - but restrained myself). We had a lovely time but then I was feeling v tired and needed the loo (again!!) so he dropped me home and he has now popped out...but I just feel really tearful, so silly as he needs some 'him' time, guess I'm just lacking in energy and my mushy brain has no motivation to do anything so sat here like a lemon feeling sorry for myself...silly I know!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 07/05/2011 14:46

Welcome newbies - Disco sorry you've been poorly.

Blue could you have a nap whilst DH is out? Or anything you could do?

I'm just chilling watching Planet of the Apes waiting for ER to come onto sky Atlantic :)

So hungry feel like I could eat anything - what I really want is a sausage & egg mcmuffin. Shame they don't have that on the daytime menu ESP for pregnant women!

figgygal · 07/05/2011 15:01

Hope everyOne feeling ok today 4 days til booking appt then gonna have to get on to them about a scan asap desperate to see everything ok. I've taken the morning off for my appt as work still don't know think I might tell the
Next week it's feeling more real now think some of the shock has run out

MummytobeLizz · 07/05/2011 15:27

BlueCrane don't worry - about an hour or so ago I had a massive cry... DH asked me what was wrong and was so worried... I told him it was nothing and that I didn't know what was causing it...

yes I do... his sister is coming round for dinner and I don't like her very much... so I cried... Blush Oh God how worrying... I am like a spoilt 3 year old... Keep telling myself to pull myself together!! Biscuit

lalababy · 07/05/2011 19:56

Hope everyone is feeling a bit better - I guess we are all going through a bit of an emotional roller coaster.

I am extremely paranoid... My pants barely fit me and I still only 7weeks. What is going on? I can still put them on and button them... but they all feel so uncomfortable...
Do you reckon it is coz of the baby or am I just getting fat!!!

MummytobeLizz · 07/05/2011 20:01

Blame it on the baby lalababy - to be honest, I haven't been eating badly and mine are tight too, I do feel bloated, so thats probably the cause.

MummytobeLizz · 07/05/2011 20:03

oooh - not to mention the wind... I have been blaming my flatulence on 'Emmy' (the embryo) for the last couple of weeks and my DH didn't believe me and thought i was making it up - he has now read a list of pregnancy symptoms and is much more understand!!

zambooloo · 07/05/2011 20:48

Hi Everyone,
Can't believe how much I have neglected MN recently - work does get in the way of socializing!
Welcome everyone new and CONGRATULATIONS :)
Well, I've had diarrhoea on and off for the past week or so but got bad yesterday and today and today had a blob of white mucus type on the top (sorry TMI). I panicked a bit so rang NHS direct who said it was nothing to worry about as I have no other symptoms - no pain, high temp etc. Has anyone else suffered from this?

littlestressy · 07/05/2011 20:55

I am super bloated and can't wear my jeans anymore!! I am living in jogging bottoms (sexy). Add to this excessive farting and burping and it's a super love fest at my house ha ha :o

zambooloo · 07/05/2011 20:59

Also... I am confused, probably pregnancy brain mush but can anyone help? If I'm due on 19th Dec how many weeks pregnant am I? I keep confusing myself and want to get it right so I can read up on the raspberry in my week by week book!

justabigdisco · 07/05/2011 20:59

I've just been to a work's do where a colleague brought her 2 week old baby - she was getting handed round and everyone was cooing 'ooh it'll be you next'...

haha little do they know!!

justabigdisco · 07/05/2011 21:32

zambooloo I am also due on 19th December by my calculation - I will be 8 weeks on Monday

rattyratbag · 08/05/2011 07:08

Morning all. Had a better day yesterday and felt far less nauseous. Saw lots of friends which was nice but tricky as none know am pg. The once thing wad that I wad driving (partially so no one thought it weird that i wasn't drinking) however drive home at 11 pm was a nightmare as was hour drive and was shattered, I don't want to drive that tired when pg again.

Is anyone else finding that getting into clothes has suddenly become tricky? I went and bought some bras yesterday and got measured finally which was good.
Blue - my sis is holding up still in hosp as they r not happy with her obs. Looks like it'll be a medical c-section prob tomorrow. Sorry that u r in same boat as me about scan. I just hope that when I finally get a date it's not way after 12 weeks if it is I've decided that in paying for a private one as it will be £60 well spent if it puts my mind at rest and let's me tell people!

Bex - I like your name of piglet, I've gone for specklet but once it grows a bit might need to change names!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 08/05/2011 08:19

Morning ladies,

Ratty I wouldn't drive that late either at the moment really not safe.

Zam welcome back Grin

Chill out day today watching the F1 and then football this afternoon.
Feel quite nauseous this morning :( is it wrong to want to spend the day in bed?

Feel bloated and fat :(

figgygal · 08/05/2011 08:40

Morning all my symptoms have stopped I think they usuay do near the end of 1st trimester I wonder if my dates r wrong and am further on. Quite gutted as still waiting for my boobs to grow they've Been sore but don't think theyve grown really.

Can someone tell me how they do the nuchal fold test and anyone not having it? I want every test out there personally hope I haven't missed my chance for it.

rattyratbag · 08/05/2011 09:32

Hey figgy. When I spoke on phone to mw she said they do nuchal test at 12 week scan it is combined with a blood test and tells you your risk factor so u can decide if you neec further tests. It gives you info like 1 in 150 risk or 1 ib 20000 and so on. She said their is a window to do it which I think was between week 11 and 14.

Going to try and finish my toast as have been sick this am & am going to have my 2.5 year old dn being dropped off by my bil for me to look after so he can get ready for new arrival tomorrow!

BlueCrane · 08/05/2011 09:39

Morning all! Well, we told my Mum and step Dad yesterday which was SO exciting...they were really chuffed and seem quite calme (for the moment) about the logistical difficulties of them coming over in December (ageing Grandparents that shouldn't be left for too long and 12 hour flight to get here!) Grin so nice to know I can also text or call her when I'm feeling rough and not try to hide it on the phone!!

had awful night's sleep though - awake at 4am and then on and off weird dreams from then on!

zam I also had diarrhoea yesterday but put it down to my prunes for breakfast being too effective Blush but I know D is apparently as common as MS but just not talked about as much. I also have v bad wind - poor DH!!

Dutchie77 · 08/05/2011 10:23

Hi all! I told my family last week. i just couldn't keep my mouth shut. And I don't see them so often (they live abroad) so it was nice to tell them in person.

Unfortunately I don't have my mum around any more. But my aunt gave me a baby journal that they found in my mums house after she passed away. She saved it for me and gave it to me when I told her. That was quite emotional. Tho now I still have the feeling that she is part of my pregnancy.

Stress sets of nausea with me. I go to bed really early because I'm knackered and anyone got hot flashes too??

Got my first appointment with MW 25th of May. Waiting, waiting waiting...aaahhh!!

BluebellsintheSpring · 08/05/2011 17:48

Hi all. I'm a newbie - due 5th December so 10 weeks tomorrow! Had m/c in January at 6 weeks so have been quite nervous. Things happen a little differently in my trust (live in NI), as dating scan happens at booking appointment. My booking/scan is this Wednesday so both nervous and excited. Hoping desperately that all will be fine!

newartriotstar · 08/05/2011 19:01

Hiya, I'm a newbie too. I'm due around the 20th of December so just getting to the end of the 7th week. I'm going to the Doctors for the first time on Tuesday. Is there anything I should ask or have ready for it? I've told my Mum and Dad already and have had to tell some close colleagues as I am a teacher and won't be able to restrain any violent children now!

I've only been properly sick once so far but when I'm not sitting down feel constantly nauseous and am burping all the time. I've also been feeling a lot warmer than normal and flushing a lot!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 08/05/2011 19:24

Evening Ladies

Welcome Newbies :)

We told parents a couple of weekends ago.

DD has been a little madam all day today - so glad she's in bed now.

4 more days till we are off to Ibiza :)

rattyratbag · 08/05/2011 20:25

Hi to all newbies and welcome. M2BLiz I am in kent too (west bit).

I am absolutely shattered. Was quite sick first thing but felt better the rest of the day although too busy running around after my little niece to notice!

Hope everyone who has been suffering has had a better day.

K

BlueCrane · 08/05/2011 20:36
