Evening all...well either the PG tiredness has finally hit or I'm coming down with DH's horrid cold as have been totally wiped out today and just feel urgh! Don't know what to do with myself as have so many things I wanted to get done this weekend and apart from some clothes shopping Blush which I know I shouldn't really be doing yet I haven't managed to get anything from my to do list done at all!! Thankfully there's another day before I need to concentrate at work and then only a short week to contend with!

DarciesmumandBump2 · 25/04/2011 08:33

Bluecrane it's not acold there's a few of us that feels wiped out at the moment.

Off to my mums for a BBQ today so that'll be good. Hope everyone has a good day.

Wiwa · 25/04/2011 10:45

Hello everyone. Sorry to hear that you've been having a rough time of it teacup and adalle. It must be really stressful. Thinking of you and hopefully you can have your mind put at rest soon.

Have just been watching 'one born eveery minute' on replay... Can't believe that gonna be me in december!

Has anyone actually been sick yet? I feel sick when I haven't eaten for a while, but it soon subsides when I do eat. Don't want to be wishing myself I'll or anything, but just keen to feel ore pregnant!! Know what I mean?

Bra update-Tesco do a sports bra for £6 which is very comfy and much better than the expensive old lady bra which I bought last week!

Hope you've all had a good weekend :) x

TeacupTempest · 25/04/2011 11:34

Hi Wiwa. I was being rather smug about my lack of ms just two days ago. . . . Today I feel really really green. Karma in action right there!

Wiwa · 25/04/2011 11:50

Oh dear! Hope I don't get it really so that I can keep this under my hat! How far are you teacup?

figgygal · 25/04/2011 12:04

Ladies still no sickness for me either very lightheaded though have very low blood pressure usially so guessing that's why must remember to tell MW when I see 1. Drinking constantly but already drink 2ltrs+ a day anyway getting bored of water now but need to keep it up as Have had kidney problems before so hoping it's ok.

Still feeling pretty aggrieved I am going to be 11 weeks b4 1st appt I know they do this all the time but with it being too early to tell friends and this bring my first feeling quite alone about it apart from chat on here.

Wiwa · 25/04/2011 12:12

It's a shame your appointment is so late figgygal :( might it be worth you phoning each week to see if any appointments have become free?

goodegg · 25/04/2011 12:43

figgygal is it your first appt with a midwife? Have you seen your GP? I went to my GP to tell him I was pg and was really surprised they don't look at pg ladies really before 12 weeks, my GP said unless there's anything out of the ordinary then I won't see anyone until about 12 wks. How am I meant to know what's normal when it's my first pg?! I want someone checking my blood pressure, my size, bump's heartbeat, scanning my tum every single bloody week to be honest!

I'm a teacher and back to work tomorrow - dreading it tbh, I'm feeling so sensitive if a kid is rude to me I won't be responsible for my actions!

Wiwa I cannot face watching OBEM, it terrifies me!

Teacup have you been sick? Has anyone on here yet? I like others have felt nauseous, usually when I haven't eaten for a while, peeing for England and drinking loads, but I'm quite looking forwardto actually being sick

figgygal · 25/04/2011 12:43

Did think about that but don't want to be a nuisance and get off on the wrong foot with them. Will just hold on unless some bad symptoms come up. I'm just really impatient

BlueCrane · 25/04/2011 13:51

I saw the nurse at my GP surgery last Tues and was told that the surgery MW would be in touch within the week to make my app to go and see her - not holding out too much hope of hearing from her this week though with all the bank hols. Currently 7+3 and would like a bit of medical attention too!! Think I have caught DG's yucky cold Sad nose is streaming and head pounding and am totally wiped! Probably a combination of PG and cold symptoms but not looking forward to work tomorrow! Is it ok to take paracetamol? I know I can't have any of my usual cold remedies but just wondered about the paracetamol!

PS no sickness here yet either though I've had occassional waves of nausea in between meals.

Wiwa · 25/04/2011 14:29

Hey everyone. Bad luck with the cold blue crane :( not sure about the paracetamol thing.. I'm also a teacher good egg and am back tomorrow. Should be getting on with some work but CBA! Know what you mean about the sickness thing. It is a bit messed up, but would be oddly reassuring at this stage! Still, by the looks of it, we're all feeling sick but not being sick at the moment.
OBEM is brilliant! Watched 2 episodes back to back. I cry every time the baby is born!

Understand the impatience thing figgygal. I want a bump now! :)

goodegg · 25/04/2011 14:40

Wiwa another teacher eh Hmm

When are you going to tell people at work? I hate my current job and not planning on returning, well only for the required minimum to not repay mat pay. Thought I'll tell HR pretty soon after 12 weeks is up so they do the risk assessment and I have a reason excuse to take it easy and avoid stress.

Wiwa · 25/04/2011 17:47

Hey good egg. I'll be telling work after 12weeks too which is basically after half term. They're gonna love me because I had nearly 2 months off last term with a bad case of pneumonia. Ah well-it's just a job isn't it? Will you be looking for a job elsewhere or supply work? I have a rosy picture of me doing a nice job share with someone, but fear the reality may be me trying to work a full time job part time...

zambooloo · 25/04/2011 17:58

Hello all, just checking in... hope you are all ok. Back to work tomorrow - classroom full of small people for me! Kind of looking forward to it as I am obsessing slightly about this pregnancy - think I've had too much time on my hands recently. I've been so emotional today - I cried at John Lewis advert earlier! Anyway enough about me - how is everyone else? Hope you all had a good Easter break xx

Wiwa · 25/04/2011 18:03

Hey zambooloo- I'm glad to be getting back too in a way. It's hard to think of anything else isn't it? John Lewis?!! Shock

zambooloo · 25/04/2011 18:08

I know - what a loser! It's the advert with the girl/ woman wearing red and advert follows her growing up - there is a 1 second clip of her pregnant and it's enough to set me off!! How are you feeling wiwa - yesterday and today started feeling a bit nauseous and also very hungry about every 2 hours - at this rate I'll be the size of a house. What age do you teach?

goodegg · 25/04/2011 18:22

Another teacher! Smile waves at zambooloo

I do love my job - head of music in a sec school - just don't like where I am currently, political stuff, management issues, faculty instability. I'm planning to teach my instruments from home for first few years, will be quite a pay drop of course but we can just about afford it. There's no way in hell I could do my current job with a lo, but that's just me, not judging anyone who can work a full-time stressful job with kids at all, best of luck!

My 12 wk mark is basically after halfterm too.

Another question for the teachers - how soon before your EDD are you planning to start mat leave? I'm doing the maths and planning to finish at Oct halfterm, and return 1st June with end Aug resignation. EDD is 22nd Dec.

BlueCrane · 25/04/2011 18:45

zambooloo I also been bit emotional - nearly cried at the Bee Story film Blush what has come over me...?! Also feeling sick but that could be the packet of ginger crunch cream biscuits I just munched through Blush oops!!

goodegg not a teacher but was thinking of finishing half way through Nov EDD 10th Dec and then seeing if I can 'officially' go back part time in Oct 2012 but use my accrued annual leave to keep me off until Jan 2013...if that makes sense! ~Not chatted to HR yet though!

zambooloo · 25/04/2011 19:05

goodegg I teach primary so was thinking about finishing October half term or a bit later if I feel ok then maybe go back part time (2 days/ wk) for the following September to start with the new class. My EDD is 19th Dec.
Bluecrane glad it isn't just me! Your maternity sounds like a good plan - will you go back full time? I really don't want to work but money money money! Trying to think of a way out if it... maybe child care will be too expensive and it will work out cheaper for me to stay at home!

BlueCrane · 25/04/2011 21:00

zambaloo I will have to go back at least 3 days a week as will be too tight financially otherwise plus my wage is the bigger at the mo which is a bit of a pain really! We've spent lots of time thinking through how we are going to save up for the time I'm off etc but realised last week that we've not thought too much about finances for me being back only part time and the possibility of then going off for no. 2 not too long after that (we'd like to have them in fairly quick succession if all goes to plan and we don't totally freak out with DC1!!) so need to run some more figures soon...though my brain is mush from pg and this stupid cold I've got so that will have to wait until I can think again! My nose has been running all day and I keep sneezing...and it's not hayfever (which is actually a good thing as at least this will clear up and not last all summer!). I have been looking at an alternative career that I can do from home after no. 2 has arrived but requires setting up own business etc and not going to be up and running in time for just post DC1 - not sure that will be top of the agenda when on mat leave next year!!

Wiwa · 25/04/2011 21:16

Hi girls. I'm feeling pretty good ta zambooloo. Just sore boobs really and feel sick if I leave a long gap between eating. Pretty emotional too! I teach kids who are 7-13. Would be nice to go on maternity leave at half term, but I have an important school event at the end of November, so will try to hang on til then. EDD 18th December. Guess I'll also see now it goes. My friend had to take hers at about 8months because she had really bad hip pain (trapped nerve or something) Will prob return in the last week of the summer term so that I can get paid over the holidays! Seems like miles off, but it's important to plan ahead.

Felicific · 25/04/2011 21:28

Hello ladies, hope you've all had a lovely weekend. Congratulations to everyone who's joined this weekedn :)

Sorry about your scares teacup and adalle I had to go to A&E today too for bleeding. No cramps but the also no more sore boobs/feeling sick so not sure whether to be hopeful or not. At the hosp they said too early for scan (5weeks) and only thing could do was blood test and book another for Thu to see if hCG levels gone up or down :(

Problem is I am in a diff county visiting parents and now have to stay with them longer and work from home rather than driving home to work. Also had to tell both sets of parents so can look after me whilst hubby driven home tonight.

Blood test and pregnancy test both strong but won't really mean anything without comparison Thu...

DarciesmumandBump2 · 26/04/2011 06:53

Felicific sorry to read your news. Hope everything is alright and your looking after yourself.

Back to school today for my DD, she needs it. Her behaviour isn't the best in the holidays. Work for next 3 days, looking forward to another long weekend. DP goes to Las Vegas on Thursday for 5 days so looking forward to a peaceful nights sleep for 5 nights :)

Apart from still feeling shattered and slightly nauseous I'm alright.

zambooloo · 26/04/2011 07:10

Felicific really sorry to hear about your scare - let us know what happens on Thursday.
Wiwa excellent thinking on returning last week before summer hols - extra pay is a brilliant idea!
Bluecrane hope your cold clears up soon - lets all hope that sickness doesn't develop during class today - I read somewhere that it commonly develops during about the 6th - 7th week (think that is about where we all are at the mo so fingers crossed)!
My insomnia is continuing - woke up at 4.00 this morning needing toilet then my mind goes straight onto pregnancy and that's it for sleep!
Anyway - hope your 1st days back to work goes well for everyone and fingers crossed for Adele - hope scan goes well today. xx

BlueCrane · 26/04/2011 09:01

zamboloo I know what you mean about the early morning's and brian kicking into gear...didn't happen so much this morning as I feel as though someone has stuffed my head with cotton wool so tight that it hurts...made it into work but hoping someone decides I am ill enough to send me home...I generally prefer to show willing than just call in sick and since I let slip to new boss in my appraisal last week I really don't want him thinking I'm taking advantage of being PG! Still no sickness which is good...am 7+4 today!

felicific how are you feeling today? Hope all ok.
