Oooh, Orange nice to know mine is not the only bad-assed baby that likes to dodge dopplers and freak us out :) He's done it every single time so far.

I've just necked a big cup of ice cold ribena and he's still obstinately doing bugger all. I will remain calm until tomorrow and then will start wibbling if I still haven't felt any booting by then, he has done this before and I suspect he is hiding in my pelvis or something.

apples underactive thyroid can leave you absolutely blitzed, can't it, my ex-MIL had a lot of fun trying to get exactly the right dosage of medication to sort it out.

Hope Lia is doing okay :)

nickstermum · 31/03/2011 16:36

Loving the names of said holes loopy, nope dont agree with the right names either. My DSis teaches her son he has a scrotum... and it just is to me wrong on so many levels!! DS is a little obsessed with his winky at the min..... boys, what are they likje?!

I dont have another MW apt now until 28 weeks owl cos its my second.. but the misog MW did ask me how i felt about that, then offered a reassurance doppler fix should i need it inbetween so not really that bad i spose! Yikes for the breath holding moment orange with teh doppler, tense few seconds, tbh even though it takes htem a while to pick up the hb they can usually hear the movements. owl dont be too disheartened i can go for 2 days without much movement. Esp if constipated or needing a poo Blush.. then i feel nothing. Am sure hes jsut resting after a few wriggling days, catching up :)

apple I told DH when we moved in that I wanted the house sorted by the time bump arrives. it's not going to happen, but we only have the hallway upstairs and our bedroom to paint. what drives me mad is the floor - it's raw, very ugly floorboards that are not meant to be on show. for some reason the floor in DS's room had a very thin layer of concrete over it, which would do horrendous damage to any skin that came into too much contact with it, so we had half his room covered with ugly underlay, the other half with those alphabet foam puzzle mats.
Now DS has carpet, our bedroom has colourful letters and numbers as flooring. :o

I got rid of ALL our boxes today. it makes such a difference! amazing.
also washed the matress covers, carseat and pushchair covers, and am now suddenly almost organised!

and my doula course got confirmed today :)

lia sending you lots of labour vibes, baby will get here soon :)

Ivy that's exciting you are almost sorted, and good news about the course too :)

Apples I hope you start feeling better soon, being ill seems such a bigger deal when pg

Nix good to hear you can have another doppler fix if you need it, my MW said I could come back in if I needed. It's just nice knowing you can isn't it? Grin at your DS's obsession

It's good to hear I'm not the only one with a bean with attitude :) it's almost like it knew it was an extra sneaky fix. Apples good visualisation and good reason to be mad! it was so bizarre and fascinating to feel it scurry away :)

loopy I think we've had this conversation before ;) but yes, I come under RD&E, too, just in the other direction from you, I think. Not that I'm planning on going there, of course. I hate that place. :o

Well done on the course Ivy.

Can't believe April is here already! Lots of pompom waving for Lia & Hopefully!!!

Had v painful branstons yesterday evening & overnight after a v quiet day of movement so had a bit of a paranoid head but thankfully am getting lots of kicks in the ribs since early morning. 12 more sleeps - eek!!! Grin

appleblossoms · 01/04/2011 13:46

Congrats on the course ivy...sounds like things may end up working out for the best. Hope you enjoy it.

I'm liking all the decorating and party food for lia...can't be too much longer now lovely, can it?! After all... Jolls is here now so baby can't keep her waiting!

owls any luck in persuading any of the freak-out posse to dip their toes in over here? Our list is looking very top-heavy these days!!

nix I had a sneaky MW appointment at 25 weeks, despite being 2nd time round. My MW is lovely and actually asked for me to see her to stop me freaking out. Not sure if I mentioned it before, but she told me she'd had a mc amongst her children so knew exactly where I was coming from. Very lovely lady Grin.

All is good here...although am still struggling with working from home... do you think MNetting counts as work when you're pregnant?? It should do I reckon.

Quick question for you lot slightly ahead of me....I've got a wedding invite for 4 weeks time, will be 34 weeks. I'm wondering about whether to just go to the wedding itself, and skip the reception...I'm pretty exhausted by lunchtime as it is.... Is that a bit woosy of me do you think? Would you go to an all day wedding by yourself? (DH is away)

Anyone heard from pretty recently? You doing okay lovely??

owlbooty · 01/04/2011 14:02

:)

I'm going to go back and try again, apple , I think part of it is that this thread tends to be quieter although it would be less so if they sidled over here instead :) My SIL went to a wedding with us and is about 35 weeks I think - she coped with the reception but did a lot of sitting down. She seemed okay the next day; I think it depends how you feel at the time.

I've just been for a sneaky doppler fix as Owlet was being far too quiet for my liking for the last few days. He is apparently fine and just lurking in my pelvis. Which is deeply inconsiderate of him!

Loops and Ivy my parents are down in Devon too; near Exeter. Tis v.v.nice there. I shall be spending lots of time down there when the little 'un makes an appearance as I rather fancy spending the Autumn pottering about on the beach at Sidmouth :)

VivClicquot · 01/04/2011 14:15

apple - I would definitely go if I were you. I had to go to a funeral two weeks ago without DH, and although it was a long and emotional day, it was absolutely fine. It was also at the opposite end of the country, which meant driving for four hours there and back on my own, but I'm glad I went. (I admit to being a bit tired for the following couple of days, but nothing that a couple of early nights didn't fix)

randomimposter · 01/04/2011 14:24
appleblossoms · 01/04/2011 14:33

Glad you went for the doppler fix owl...naughty little owlet hiding away... although maybe it's a sign that he'll continue to be nice and quiet when he's on the outside too??? There's always a chance...I've heard rumours of 'easy' babies, never seen one myself mind Wink

I think my reluctance on the wedding front is I was quite looking forward to a weekend relaxing with my parents whilst they looked after DS....and I'm not sure if I want to spend one of those days getting all tired making polite conversation with people who I haven't spoken to in over two years! oh dear. I am a social outcast aren't I?! hahaha!

owlbooty · 01/04/2011 16:31

Naw, apples , weddings are a right bag of arse, I always end up penned into a corner by mad relatives from the opposite side of the family.

Teaching I've always thought of you as a Bert Grin

I've tried to tempt the newbies over here with cupcakes; if that doesn't work I'll get the taser out.

Wombat33 · 01/04/2011 17:27

What's all this squealing about??? Is there a new babe arrived? Either way, can I have some of the camembert please?? I spent a good 10 mins in front of the cheese counter at M&S the other day drooling. And came away withsome various varieties of cheedar... not quite what I was oggling!

Owl glad the owlet was tracked down in the end!

Apples I'm currently due to be going to a wedding (with overnight stay) at 36 weeks and also to be a bridesmaid at a wedding 8 days before my due date!! Have warned both I may not make it, but I thought I may as well start off [naiively] optimistic!

Fab news on the course Ivy!

Nix your DS sounds adorable!

Thanks for all the comments about the MW. She said it all in the most helpfull way she could. It just wasn't, all in all, terribly helpful. Hey ho. consultant on Monday so hopefully he/she can reassure me. Am already counting doown the days until my 20wk scan on 27th too!
