No idea klou my booking appt isn't till tues next week and I'll be 10+4 then! I just want to know everything is ok with my little one so a can't relax a little.

Omg half way! That has gone quick! Your pg has gone so much quicker than my weeks have lol.
how long was your booking appt?

KLou111 · 08/03/2011 19:25

MW came to house and was here about 2 hours, loads of paperwork to do! She'll take your bloods too so be prepared for that lol, but shouldn't hurt.
Scan should come through really quick once you've had your appt. Can't believe you're so far already :)

Skin tag is OK, not so painful today. It's already a bit darker, so hopefully wont be too long before it falls off.

That post was hilarious Melly!!

Iwish · 08/03/2011 20:01

I had my booking bloods done last week because I had to have bloods done for my thyroid so they thought they may as well do it all done together. Hate having bloods done. They have upped my dose of thyroxine too. I'll be going every 2 weeks now from 1 month ago for either scans, bloods or other antenatal. I think they will book it at my booking appt - touch wood :)
Wow can't believe they come to your house, I have been to the hospital or docs and the hospital charges £2 to park for 2 hours!

GruffaloMama · 08/03/2011 20:02

Bum just lost my post! Iwish totally agree with Klou - dead on for no more dishes! Glad all is okay and that the sickness is easing off.

BTW nearly snorted my tea up my nose at work reading about mole foreplay. Ended up thinking about moles shagging which isn't a normal part of my working week... madkatz hope it's a bit less sore now.

mellythat thread is genius. Have you seen this one in classics. It's a long one but worth it...

BTW the best news yesterday at the scan was that the baby has a normal sized head!!! DS had a massive head and got stuck (forceps) but this one is a normal baby!!! Hurray!!! V v v happy.

Iwish · 08/03/2011 20:20

I think the sickness was only constant for about 2 weeks. Got worried when it wasn't as bad but since I still get it at least once a day I'm hoping it's a good sign. I just did the washing up whilst heaving over the sink waiting for DP to bring me a mint - nice!
Omg gruffalo I've read that post before it's absolutely hilarious! How do you find these funny threads? I want to see some more!

madkatz glad it's ok today, maybe it'll come off soon. How many weeks are you now and what's your due date? Bet we are quite close together.

Iwish · 08/03/2011 20:21

Sorry gruffalo forgot to say glad baby is a normal size lol!!

lizandlulu · 08/03/2011 21:19

wow this doppler is genius! why ever didnt i get one last time! i have just been sat here with dh listening to it, the heart beat is only faint cause i think its move around in my belly, but you can hear it moving.

i took it to my mum earlier for her to listen and she heard it for about 30 seconds, then it did an almighty move and couldnt find it at all then, so i think it is still in roughly the same postion now.

iwish how odd washing up liquid makes you gag! it smells so clean! you could understand if it was a greasy or old smell, but washing up liz is lovelyGrin

gruffalo good news about the babys headGrin i bet you were worried about that! i know a lady whos baby had nearly an adult size head at birth, it was huge! he looked like a lollipop having such a big head on a tiny body!

GruffaloMama · 08/03/2011 21:42

Hiya - doppler sounds great but think I'll try to resist. Bean is getting more wriggly so hopefully that'll keep me entertained.

DS had a 99th centile head - he's 2yrs and 4 months now and has to wear adult hats - total lollipop! Adorable (to me!) but a bit tricky to get out... So yes, very happy this one is a normal size. It even makes me think that I might be able to think about a normal birth - would deffo have been a c-section if same as DS. Seeing consultant on 22 March so can discuss with her/him then.

Got some piccies from the scan and posted one to my mum - it's her birthday tomorrow so hopefully she'll get it in time.

lizandlulu · 08/03/2011 21:45

oh gruffalo i feel abit bad, i didnt mean anything by itBlush

i have got my scan on the 22nd, cant bloody wait!

GruffaloMama · 09/03/2011 07:42

Oh don't feel bad! We've always called him a lollipop - dh has huge head but broad shoulders etc so doesn't look odd but it'll be a while until ds's body catches up with his head. He looks funniest when naked - and he was a bit slow to sit up etc cos he had to lift a heavy head but apart from that it's fine.

MadKatz · 09/03/2011 09:03

Iwish I am 9+3, due on the 11th October.

I've got my midwife home visit tomorrow afternoon.

Iwish · 09/03/2011 10:20

Ooh yeh we are close. Midwife gave me 7th October but I ov'd on day 17 not day 14 so I suspect it is more like 10th October.

Not long till our scans and we can actually tell people!

Iwish · 09/03/2011 10:48

Omg Liz it just smells awful. It's the apple one. Can't stand the smell of lemon either and DPs shower gel smells of lemon.
I opened the door this morning and the nice fresh air made me heave!

MadKatz · 09/03/2011 11:05

I've already told family and close friends. It was as soon as we found out but only because a) we wouldn't have to watch what we said, ate or drank and b) if anything goes wrong (hopefully not) then the people who know will be great support.

Iwish · 09/03/2011 11:10

We told our parents and a close friend. Told my boss and a colleage a week or so ago ad I felt shocking. Can't wait to tell the rest of our family and friends. We had the same reasons as you for telling people. Makes sense doesn't it. Going to try and book my scan for v early on 28th if I can. Have you got a date?

lizandlulu · 09/03/2011 13:36

iwish sorry but you make me laugh out loud! is there any smells that you do like? when i was pg with dd, dh's lynx make me feel sick (wasnt too keen on it in the first place though) and when we went away last week, mil's perfume make me gag but i was too nice to say anything to her about it, so spent most of the time standing down wind of her so i didnt smell it. but on the bus back to the airport, she must have sprayed it loads as i really couldnt talk for the feeling of being sick. if i had been anywhere i could have puked up then i would have done[sad[
i really really hope you start to feel better soon x x x x

Melly19MummyToBe · 09/03/2011 14:52

Afternoon ladies! How are we all on this lovely day? Lovely day for ducks that is.

I had my GTT earlier this morning it was horrible, I can't stand Lucozade Envy(its a sicky face) and one of the pricks in my arm is bruising up :/

I also gave myself a wedgie aswell. Went to hitch my jeans up but grabbed my knickers instead and yanked them up, I wasn't best pleased by that.

Iwish, what a strange thing to make you feel ill! Flowery perfume makes me feel a bit ill but not majorly.

Im glad everything is ok with the baby Gruffalo and I hope your mum recieves the pictures in time, that will be a nice birthday present won't it?

MadKatz · 09/03/2011 16:08

I just rang up and got my scan date, 9am on the 29th March Grin

lizandlulu · 09/03/2011 16:53

is that 3 weeks away madkatz? ohh not long really, it will fly round.

melly you do make me laugh! i have got to have a GTT and am not looking forward to it, although i dont mind sitting in peace and quiet for 2 hoursSmile

Iwish · 09/03/2011 17:40

Haha thanks Liz I like the smell or some food and my own rasberry bodywash Grin. Ooh I'm surprised you didn't puke at the amount of perfume!

What's a GTT melly?
Tis strange what makes me feel sick. I bought some hand sanitiser the other week but it smells lemony so I gave it to my colleage at work, he uses it all the damn time now and it makes me gag so I can't wait till after the scan and I can tell him it makes me sick haha.

yey for madkatz scan date Grin
I want mine :(

GruffaloMama · 09/03/2011 18:02

Hey madkatsgreat news about the scan date - iwish if i were you i'd give them a call - sometimes the notifications go astray. melly hope your knickers have been 'de-wedgied'...

OMG had a total wardrobe failure today. was wearing a dress to work and wore some new maternity tights. The crotch (urghh - hate that word) had kind of split so that even by the time I got on my train my bum was hanging out of them. By the time I got to work the ladders had nearly reached my knee length hem. Managed to get through the morning without major incident (carefully not moving swiftly anywhere.but then had to go into town at lunch to try to find maternity tights - can't stand proper ones on my huge curvy tummy. Not a frigging pair in all of cambridge. Ended up buying some leggings and changing in a public loo as the tights had totally died. Grim grim grim...

KLou111 · 09/03/2011 18:13

Bloody hell, you lot talk!! LOL! :)

Lol to your sicky smells Iwish, you are funny.

Ouchy to wedgie Melly, you muppet Grin

Will have a look at that link Gruffalo. Hope your mum gets your scan piccy, that'll be lovely for her.

Hope your tag comes off soon Madkatz.

Got a bit of sad but relief filled news, which I know is really REALLY bad of me to say and I do feel awful. My brother phoned this afternoon to tell me that the girl has had a MC. She started bleeding 'our' yesterday morning very heavy and doc has confirmed a MC. I was in tears to him on the phone as I was gutted for him as he had made the decision to make a go of it. But I can't help but think this is so much for the best. I have told him we won't breathe a word to anyone ie parents, that's for him if he wants to tell them.
However, he made an odd comment when I asked if he was still going to try and bring her here. He said due to the decision of them bringing a baby up, he doesn't feel right now to just walk away. Well, if he wants to do it, it's now at least not as pressurised as the whole baby thing, but still think he's a fool. He's been told by the visa peeps if he wants to bring her in to stay permanently he has to be engaged and marry her within 6 months!! I can't believe the government is pushing marriage this quickly!! He doesn't even know her for gods sake, and they're not helping Angry

Iwish · 09/03/2011 18:48

gruffalo I asked if I could book it last week and they Sao no they will do it at my booking appt which is next week. Wierd. Hope they have a short waiting list, can't wait much longer than 12 weeks otherwise I may just explode! And Grin at your wardrobe malfunction! I was giggling reading that but bet it wasn't see funny at the time.

klou I bet it was a little relief to hear that but also quite sad for your brother. At least he is thinking about if he wants her in his future.

Have any of you tried any of the online gender predictors? Thought I'd have a nosey and see if it's right. They all say girl so lets see what happens at the 20 week scan. (got to get the 12 week one first ha)

KLou111 · 09/03/2011 18:51

All mine said girl too Iwish. I did about 5 different ones a few weeks back. We'll see! I've got 22 weeks to wait as DH doesn't want to find out
