Hi ladies!! Not been on for a couple of days.

What is it with the mums???? If they have nothing nice to say, then why say anything? The obviously know they are upsetting you, and it's not nice to say if they don't like your name choices is it? I don't like my brothers names (Dean and Lee) but I wouldn't say it to my mum lol!
You bloody well have your scan Iwish and choose whatever hell name you like. This is YOUR baby boy, enjoy him and sod the rest of em!
I hope she gets a bit more excited for you soon. This is the most special time for you and your OH and don't let anyone get you down. And you Liz!!!

Had 28 week appointment today (am 28+5), anaemia bloods done, measured, listened to HB, and felt for positioning. All OK but baby still breech Hmm
Had a right laugh with the MW and another lady who is MW training. Were talking about the birth as telling them am terrified, and she was telling DH and I some stories about some births recently, was hilarious! Actually made me feel so much better about it all. But she did say DO NOT WATCH OBEM!! She said a lot is all played up for the cameras, and everyone is different, so don't use it a guide.
Have 4 classes starting end of June although she said we can go to a place about 40 mins away that you can do the whole lot in a day :)
Had the plasterer in today to give us a quote, so hoping he'll be in over the next couple of weeks and we can finally start the nursery hurrah!!

Thanks klou hun. Mums can be funny creatures. I will call my little boy Joshua and I will damn well have a 4d scan! I'm sure she will want to see the pics and video when we have been. Going to have it done at 28 weeks I think. What gestation did you have yours?
You seem to get the nice midwives and the generous ones lol!
Bet you are excited to be able to start the nursery. Have you decided what you are doing?

lizandlulu · 24/05/2011 21:56

klou keep telling yourself that it has plenty of time to turn. i do! did the midwife say anything about it turning, like do you get to have a scan to find out or does she just tell from feeling it?

Melly19MummyToBe · 25/05/2011 09:56

Morning all! How is everybody today? I'm tired, fed up and bloody uncomfortable! Been awake since half 6 and decided to get up at half 7 because I couldn't get back to sleep, too uncomfy, my hips and lower back are killing me, and some little madam is sticking her limbs into unwanted places, like my ribs, and vital organs. I dread to think what my insides look like, just mush I'm guessing Hmm Also been getting lots of crampy periody like feelings too so hoping it won't be much longer before she wants to make an appearance!

On your hospital notes, does anyone know what 'relation to brim' means? If it means what I think it means then Poppy is 2/5 engaged! Although 2 and half weeks ago she was 4/5. I'm slightly confused, does 2/5 mean more engaged than 4/5?? Confused

Ooooh I bet you can't wait to start the nursery Klou! How are you going to decorate it?

Liz and Klou your babies should turn around, there is loads of time yet! Don't worry about it :)

Iwish, go you! He's your baby, do what YOU want to do, not what anyone else wants, apart from your DP obviously because he has a say in everything too lol!

KLou111 · 25/05/2011 12:29

Fair play Iwish you go for it :) I was 27+2 when we had our scan. I wanted to have it at 28 weeks which is when we booked in originally, but the one we went to only did every other Saturday to start with so we had to go then. 26-28 is apparently the best time :)

Not booked in for another scan Liz so assume they'll have a little feel. The MW did tell us though they can manually turn baby around at the 'time' but another MW recently did this and got the baby into the correct position and they could literally see the baby move back again! So that lady had a c-section.

Soooooooo excited for you Melly, very Envy you get to see your little one soon x

Set on duck egg blue for nursery. Went to some friends on Sunday and their dining room is the same colour and they have white furniture and it looked gorgeous! Prob get a beige or cream carpet in there. Can't bloody wait!!

Got a choc fudge cake in the oven, my addiction to chocolate is still here although I have lost 3lbs over the last 2 weeks being back in the Midlands Hmm making a total of 17lbs on so far, so not bad so far if 3lbs is bubba :)

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 25/05/2011 13:00

melly i thought 'relation to brim' ment how far engaged the baby was too. search in the mumsnet archives and see if that brings up anything. unless poppy has gone in then come out again??? dont know!

klou duck egg blue with white furniture sounds lovely, really classic.

i have totally gone off chocolateSad usually have the sweetest tooth around, but not no moreSad

and re turning the baby, i have read in books that babies who can be turned are only the ones who would have turned anyway in their own time. iam not too sure if i would want it done, but then if you dont have it done you chance the c section. god i am worrying ahead of time!

ohh and went last night to fetch the mamas and papas skate pram i won on ebay, its ace and for £65 i love it!

melly it really does sound like you are going to be having her soon. i am nearly as excited as youGrin

lizandlulu · 25/05/2011 18:15

just been looking through the instructions for this skate, it says 'to fold down, first remove the child' well you dont say!Grin

KLou111 · 25/05/2011 21:19

Evening Ladies,

Got another scan on Friday afternoon to try and finally get the spine measurement and check the kidneys are ok.

lizandlulu · 25/05/2011 22:08

ah thats lovely klou the brimstone yellow would look good, but dont knwo if it would be ok to read? choc brown would go lovely.

re the bouncy chair, i am half expecting the man to message me and say its no longer for sale or something like that. i would be gutted to let it go for 99p and expect they will too. just depends if they play by the rules or not. if he wanted more money for it he shouldnt have started it at 99p should he?

madkatz i do hope it plays ball this time!

i think my baby might be turning. i keep getting a stretching like feeling on my right side, like its laying on the side and trying to stretch out. and not so many kicks on the top. got a scan a week on tuesday and will be interested to see if i am right.

KLou111 · 26/05/2011 08:36

Ditto Liz I was just about to post I am being booted on the right side this morning!! Was quite funny as had my hand there and I felt a foot or something stick out for about 20 seconds before it went back 'in' again! S/he kept doing it. Must've gone on for half hour or so!

Hope all goes well Madkatz :)

klou them words are lovely, i really like the idea of having them on the wall rather than pictures. i wonder what other sayings there are?

well chris has gone off on his jollys with his matesSad i have got my mate coming to stay tomorrow night till monday so at least i will have some company, her dh has gone too so we can sit and be pissed off togetherGrin

KLou111 · 27/05/2011 13:09

ahhhhh they are all so cute Liz :)
Glad you've got a bit of company over the weekend.

How's the scan Madkatz?

OP posts:
KLou111 · 27/05/2011 13:10

Oh, question for you, cot or cotbed??
It's more room in our case as cotbeds are wider, and would mean we'd have to rethink which way the room is, but would rather buy the right one!

OP posts:
GruffaloMama · 27/05/2011 16:39

Hiya. Broadband still fudged... madkatz hope scan was good. Melly - it's sounding good... hope route feeling okay. Think i'll nick that idea about the list on the fridge. Klou, we had a cotbed here for ds in the nursery but a travel cot while he was in our room. I reckon it depends on if/when you plan no. 2... if it weren't for this baby ds could stay in his cotbed for another year or so. But he's going to get upgraded early!
IWish - sorry about your mum. And I love Joshua as a name.
All here is fine. Good progress on house after my meltdown. my back though is really bad. Was so bad after osteopath I couldn't even walk. Have been to see physio who wad great. Am taking it v easy now ref lifting etc.

Gotta go. Hope you all have lovely long weekends. My mum and dad are here so will be able to get some help to comet some of our DIY jobs!

lizandlulu · 27/05/2011 19:23

nice to hear from you gruffalo, glad all is well.

klou we had a cotbed with lulu which we will use again, but we never actually used it as a bed, just as a cot. dh picked it as it did look lovely and roomy and we did plan to use it as a bed, but by the time she grew out of it, i decided to put her straight into a single bed. rather than move her twice, from cot to cotbed to single bed i just thought sod it see how we go and she was fine.

Iwish · 27/05/2011 19:52

wow ladies you have been busy!!

Welcome back Gruffalo! Make sure you are taking it easy :)

Klou think we are going to get a cot bed. if we dont use it as a bed like liz didnt we wont be too bothered. And all the stuff you have ordered is lovely!

Liz its lovely that your friend is coming to stay, you can have a nice weekend of girly chats, ice creams and relaxing! I love the things you have ordered too.

What do you ladies think about this pram? i really like it but have no idea what its like in real life so am going to go hunting for it this weekend. I havnt bought anything for y little man yet apart from one little outfit. I WANT TO BUY SOMETHING NOW!!!

Iwish · 27/05/2011 19:53

Madkatz How did your scan go too? (Sorry i pressed send before checking id written everything lol)

lizandlulu · 27/05/2011 20:02

thats pram is lovely iwish the car seat looks really good. i have a lie flat one but its not adjustable like that one.

Iwish · 27/05/2011 20:12

Yeh i thought it looked quite good. There is actually an ebay shop selling it £100 but it has green bits on. Ive emailed them asking of they have this colour because if they do and i can see it at a shop i will hopefully buy it.
What are the benefits of a lie flat car seat? I wasnt sure, i just happened to like the pram Grin

DP just got me an icecream and now i want another! Likkle boy seemed to like it as he was squirming around.
