Oh, it's all exciting isn't it Liz, we'll prob not order ours for a few weeks, scared of it getting in the way/dirty/damaged at the mo. Found the cheapest combo for £489 inc a pram suit for Winter which I thought was pretty good.
Not seen it in real life anywhere as you have to order it, but have seen 2 in town in the last week. Think they are the same one, was a pram last week, and today had the pushchair on. Looked great to us, not too big. Was tempted to go up to the mum and see if I could have a play, but didn't :)

Picked all our nursery furniture now : Eric cot, John Lewis in white, Cot changer for the top of cot (limited space in nursery), John Lewis, Hemnes wardrobe white (single door) Ikea, Hemnes 3 drawer chest white Ikea, Lack shelving (zig zag thing) white Ikea.

Been into town and bought a few things for my hospital bag. Got 40 breast pads for £1.40 at Wilko!! Not sure how good, but good enough for hospital. Got some pads and disposable knickers, will take some oldies too though.
Got most things now for hospital, just nighties and bras, but will get nearer the time as not sure how big I'll be. Growing quite a bump this end now, hurrah!! Grin

Hi all!!

Hope you all had nice bank holiday weekends :)

Sorry I've completely disappeared recently. I get very lazy and havnt got the laptop out for a while. Im on my phone now because I can't be bothered with the laptop lol.

Lol melly getting stuck in the bath! I shouldn't laugh because it'll be me soon enough!! Are you getting excited now you only have a few weeks left? And are you prepared for the birth (well as prepared as you can be)

Ooh indigestion isn't nice klou! You poor thing. What pram are you thinking of getting? And you are so organised getting stuff for your hospital bag now!

What pram are you getting Liz? I hope you enjoyed your trip to Skegness too.

Hey madkatz hope you are doing ok too :)

I had my midwife appt last week and we listened to little ones heartbeat, it was lovely. 18 weeks now and have my scan in 2 weeks!! Can't wait!!!
On a Blush note, I really need to go to the toilet! If I havnt been like every 24 hours I get a sore tummy and it's now been 2 days!! What can I do to make me go NOW?

KLou111 · 03/05/2011 18:04

Hiya Iwish, long time no hear :) Glad all is well, think we were all getting a bit worried about you!! Wow 18 weeks already, that has gone so quick!! You get to find out the sex soon you lucky thing!!

Getting the Jane Slalom Reverse with Matrix Light pram/pushchair system. Can't wait to get it TBH. My mum keeps telling me 'I hope you're not only getting it because you're worried about us buying it, and you're worried about the cost, you have whichever one you want.' Which is so sweet, but it truly is the one we want!! It's an all terrain one too which we defo need around here as we walk the dog(s) in the woods so will need it for the tracks. And I want one with a full handle and hand brake too, which it does have. :)

Any thoughts what you'll be getting?

GruffaloMama · 03/05/2011 18:17

Hi all - Iwish glad to hear from you! Have you tried dried apricots and lots of water/juice? Works for me. Mind you during preg I crave citrus and eat two/three large oranges per day which also seems to sort it out! Sorry if TMI!

Melly - with our new bath I deliberately got handles as I got stuck when preg with DS - didn't have the sense to have a phone handy though so ended up bellowing like a hippo. Was at my mum's house too so extra embarrassing! Grin

Klou - I like the Jane prams - am getting a twin slalom from my SIL. Sweet that your mum is worried though!

Liz - sorry you couldn't order the pram - what a pain! Hope it goes well next week. I need to start making lists - only 11 weeks to go for me. Want to start getting things sorted PDQ.

Madkatz are you out there?

Off for my second GTT tomorrow. Keep your fingers' crossed for me.

lizandlulu · 03/05/2011 18:22

hiya iwish wow hasnt your 18 weeks gone fast!! i cant help either with the bunged up, thnakfully one of the side effects i havent got, god knows i have got everything elseGrin

klou i had and still have a cot top changer and its fab. i really wouldnt waste any money on a changing unit (unless i was a millionare) when it gets to about 9 months old it will only pull all the stuff off the shelves anyway.

i am getting an obaby 3tec www.preciouslittleone.com/product-information/20/15094/obaby-3tec-3-in-1-purple-pushchair---blackpurple/ from here. with the carrycot, car seat and all the bits to go with. apart from changing bag as i got one. i am excited about seeing it in the flesh!!

KLou111 · 03/05/2011 18:35

That's good to hear Liz about the cot changer. I was worried about it TBH. Will be able to store it under the cot. We have a boiler in the nursery which will be boxed in a cupboard (unused as we have a log burner now, but DH doesn't want to take it out in case we sell the house at some point as new peeps can have gas option then), and it is directly above where the drawers/changer will be going. There is enough room on top to change baby if we just got a mat thing, but would be easier with cot changer :)

I've seen some of the Jane prams online and they look fab! Bless your mum too for being worried! This is one i like, foind it cheaper st £300 but cant find it now! www.1stbabyshop.co.uk/catalogue/2-in-1s-and-3-in-1s/3817.php
Oh yeh I can't wait to find out if bubba is pink or blue! I'm guessing blue.
And yeh it's gone so quick from 12 to 18 weeks! On countdown to the scan now.

Hi gruffalo I've tried lots of water, had about 3 litres up to now as well as decaff coffee etc but no luck :(. Might need to get some apricots and some bananas like klou suggested. Fingers crossed your GTT goes well!

Ooh Liz that's a lovely pram! Bet you can't wait to get down to the shop lol. Have you already been and looked at one? Ive not looked at any in the flesh yet!
In fact me and DP havnt even been in any baby shops yet!!

Iwish · 03/05/2011 18:52

I like this furniture too cgi.ebay.co.uk/4BABY-CHILD-COT-BED-NURSERY-FURNITURE-BABY-ROOM-SET-/310314508729?pt=UK_Baby_Nursery_Furniture_ET&hash=item48402fa1b9#ht_6295wt_2166
This seller through eBay has some good stuff. You should take a look xx

lizandlulu · 03/05/2011 21:33

iwish i have seem them on ebay and thought it looked like nice stuff too.

no i havent seen the pram in the flesh at all which is why i am a little concerned about liking it, but i really love how it looks, as long as it feels nice to push and it easy to put up and down, it should be fine.

when is your scan?

Iwish · 03/05/2011 21:48

That's how I feel about the one I have seen. I want to see it in a shop first. The one I like was for sale on the eBay shop where the furniture is but it's not on there today. The place isn't far from me so will ask them if I can go and look at everything.

Scan is on the 18th. I can't wait to find out if I'm having a pink one or blue one. In fact if someone could tell me now I'd let them lol!
What flavour do you think your baby is?

KLou111 · 04/05/2011 11:38

I thought I was having a girl but I am more towards boy now lol!

Just got all the baby stuff in the washer ready to 'pack my bag'. Obviously got a while yet (am 26 weeks tomorrow Grin) but got to go back to the Midlands for a couple of weeks soon, so want to take it all as you never know Hmm. I can't believe you have to take so much stuff!! Baby stuff alone will fill it, never mind my stuff lol! :)

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 04/05/2011 13:03

klou are you having 2 seperate bags? i think i will, just to keep everythng more organized. i have bought my first nappies this morning, only cause i wanted to get the free boots changing bag thoughGrin

iwish i think i am having a boy too, i dont mind either way. i didnt really want a boy, but the more i think about it, the more i dont mind.

i am so annoyed with dh, he started the baby room last night. i wanted a wave in the middle where the 2 colours meet, like melly had, so he tried to do that and made the waves all wonky and not the same, then moaned about the paint being crap and drying out too quick, he let lulu write her name on the wall with paintbrush than moaned about being able to see it through the paint, then just walked away and left it saying he will pay someone else to do itHmm

Iwish · 04/05/2011 13:33

Oooh may be a lot of boys on here then ladies. I think my little one is a boy most of the time but just every now and again I think girl. Can't wait to find out and stop the guessing! DP wants a little girl, he keeps looking at pink things!
Are any of you thinking of having one of the 4d scans? I was looking at a place in Leeds that looks good.

Liz your DH is naughty! Tell him to get another layer of paint on and use a stencil lol!

lizandlulu · 04/05/2011 13:40

i am going to have a 4d scan at a place in lincoln, not booked it yet, just another thingi have got on my list of things to do!

Melly19MummyToBe · 04/05/2011 13:47

I drew the wavy line on myself with a pencil, very lightly and simon managed to follow it quite neatly! I was surprised!

Iwish I was convinced I was having a boy which is why I was so shocked when they told me it was a girl! I am happy about it now, we were both gutted at the time though.

I've almost finished packing my bag, just need a water sprayer thingy, and a set of going home clothes for me. I've packed simon a set of clothes just incase he has to come to hospital straight from work, I'm not sure they'd appreciate him being there covered in tarmac and diesel :o I've bought him one of these to change into if he does have to come from work and it's going straight in my hospital bag when it arrives :o I'm not even going to tell him I've got him one, because I told him about them a while ago and he made a face and said he didn't want one. Thats the only top of his I'm taking with me so he has no choice but to wear it!

MadKatz · 04/05/2011 14:01

Hello Ladies, hope everyones ok.

Sorry haven't been on for a while. My mum and stpedad came up at the weekend and we went shopping for a travel system. Went to Hopscotch in Hereford and they are fantastic! Spent loads of time there, trying it all out and getting loads of info. Finally decided on the Oyster. The great thing is we only had to put down 10% and they will have it ready for September! So we don't have to take it home and move it in the house move. We did buy a car seat though which will take us up to 18 months for £49.99 which we bought home.

18 weeks today and scan exactly 2 weeks today, can't wait. Just want to know everything's alright as keep having horrible nightmares. We don't want to know what it is until the birth although DH has been convinced its a boy since the BFP!

Still waiting to hear if all our checks are alright for this house. God I hope so, it's like living on egg shells at the mo.

Iwish try Lactulose from the chemist. I ad that problem early on, works a treat Grin

Melly19MummyToBe · 04/05/2011 14:35

Oooooh I have the Oyster! It's lovely isn't it? Did you get the pearl colour? I wanted to get a lime green colour pack for mine, they look ace in pictures online but irl they're not actually that nice!

Gosh 18 weeks, only feels like last week when I was excited about my 20 week scan being in 2 weeks time :o

I keep having horrible dreams where Poppy is breech and I have to have a c-section, and they cut me open to find that actually she wasn't breech Shock

KLou111 · 04/05/2011 16:38

Hi all! LOVE the T-shirt Melly I might get one too!! :)

LMAO Liz, if you want something doing and all that......

Well, my bag is all packed. Washed and ironed all the little clothes today (even though I just got the out the packet, but they smell nice now), just need a baby to go in now!!
Need a couple of nighties and some clothes for me, and that's about it.

Got to go back to the Midlands a bit earlier now, prob Monday, so a good job my bag is packed just in case!!
My brother went to Jakarta a few weeks ago (to see the girl he got preg after Xmas) and was fannying around and ended up breaking his leg. Anyway he's back, and still not had it fixed cos of flying it swelled up loads. He lives in Worthing so he's at my mum and dad's. They're meant to be going on hol Sunday for 6 weeks now my Dad has retired, and they wanted to get it in before bubba, but they told me they were going to cancel it for my brother. I hit the roof, he's 40 for god's sake!!!!! Anyway, after calming down, DH suggested we go back a bit earlier and we sort him out for a couple of weeks, and I can stay with my brother while DH goes and does the business side of things. Good in a way as we get back here earlier, and bro's girlfriend from Jakarta is trying to get over on a holiday visa in a couple of weeks to help. My other brother lives down the road, and offered to move into mum and dad's but obviously he'll be at work in the day.
AAAAAAAnyway, finally convinced them to go away and not to worry about a thing, which they are now doing Grin

Just got to see about moving my 28 week appt to the Midlands which my mum is sorting. So happy they are now going, and was totally gutted when they said about cancelling.

Sorry for the huge post again, getting a bit of a habit with me this lol!! :)

Melly19MummyToBe · 04/05/2011 17:26

My friend just emailed me this But beware, it's a willy! I actually thought it was pretty cool, if somewhat painful looking.

Iwish · 04/05/2011 18:15

Eek madkatz your scan is the same day at mine!! What time is yours? Mines at 10:40 so I don't have 2 wait too long.
Might have to take a look at the lactulose thanks :)

They are expensive aren't they Liz but I think so worth it!

melly Shock at that link!! I'm Shocked lol. I would love a little girl and I think we have both dreamed of having a girl - which is why I think it's a boy! I have been on the Internet and all the gender guessers and chinese predictors say girl but I posted my scan pic on a forum and they have all said boy. Wierd.
Love the tshirt too!

klou that was a long post!! Bet you are happy your bag is packed, 1 less thong to do :).
Lol that your mum and dad were going to stay for your brother! Good job you persuaded them otherwise.

MadKatz · 04/05/2011 18:28

Mines at 8am Iwish

MadKatz · 04/05/2011 18:32

Melly DH has gone for the bright yellow. Stll not convinced but we can change it later if we want at no extra cost

Iwish · 04/05/2011 18:57

Oooh you will have to let us know how you get on madkatz

Oh hell I'm typing on my phone and it changed the word 'thong' to 'thong' in my post above!! '1 less thong' to do'!! Stupid thing!!

Just put my 18 week 'bump' pic up. I did only just do it tho so there is lots of food and bloatedness in there too lol.

Melly19MummyToBe · 04/05/2011 18:58

Lol Iwish it still says thong :o
