hi all. On hols in Cornwall. Had a lovely sunny day. Klou hope Bella settles in well!
Liz there are two kinds of GTT. If it's the same as mine you're not allowed to eat/drink (even water) from 10pm the night before, then you go in at 9 for the test. Then they make you drink a really sweet drink and retest after one hour and then two. you can't eat until they've done all the tests. Was bloody ravenous by the time they'd finished. But got my results and all is well so good news. recommend you take in something to eat for after the test as what is normally on offer by my hospital is enough to make you hurl.

KLou111 · 18/04/2011 10:18

Does everyone have a GTT? Or will MW tell me on Thursday if I need one? I'd heard you couldn't eat from the night before too and they give you lucozade or something similar.

Glad you've all been enjoying the sun. Had a lovely day yesterday. Went to the beach, then went to see Bella (as DH wanted to drop a jumper for the mum to lie on to put with Bella when she got home with us), did bit of shopping, tried to find some stretchy waist casual trousers and failed! Don't really want maternity stuff quite yet, but jeans are starting to cut in when just lounging around and sick of jogging bottoms! Then we had a BBQ, and sat out til 9 with the chimnea lit. Was lovely and the moon was huge!!! :)

klou only women with a higher bmi need to have the test, not sure what the magic number is but i am sure you wont have anything to worry about. also if you have had large previous babies i think, i am not too sure on the whys, only that i have to cause i am fatGrin

also, have a look at cotton traders for elastic waist things. i havent had any from there but mum had a catalogue in a paper and they looked quite good.

thanks gruffalo i am off out for tea tomorrow night as its mums birthday and the table's not till half 7, but i am sure i can stop eating in time! got to see midwife tomorrow too so she can tell me which test it will be, although it does sound to me like i am having the same as you

God I am so angry right now. Simon went out last night with his uncle and got too pissed, he came home, we went to bed, then he got up and threw up, came back, went back to sleep then about an hour later it was 10 to midnight he got up again threw up, but this time he didn't come back. I got up after about 20 minutes and went to him and he was huddled up on the bathroom step next to the loo. I asked him if he was coming back to bed and he burst into tears saying he couldn't walk because his feet were killing him. I ended up sitting on the bathroom floor for an hour just holding him while he cried and kept telling me he was so sorry and that I shouldn't have to see him like that. He said he tried to make the pain in his feet go away by getting drunk. He also said he wants to chop them off to make it stop hurting and he's had enough of it all and just wants it to end. He's tried being strong for me but he can't take it any longer :( I finally managed to get him back up on his feet and helped him back to bed where he cried himself to sleep.

I really want to know how much he drank last night. he was out for 3 hours, and he's been sick 4 more times today. He's back in bed now sleeping it off. I really wish I could help him. I just feel so helpless seeing him like this. I'm just so angry with the stupid twats who caused this! Really trying not to let it stress me out but it's getting difficult, I just keep worrying that he's going to do something stupid. I know he won't but I still worry about it.

Sorry it's been a long post, I just needed to tell someone :(

MadKatz · 18/04/2011 13:20

Omg Melly that's awful and I'd feel the same way. I would be fuming with whoever was out with him.

It's awful when your other half is going through something you can do nothing about, isn't it? You feel so helpless. My DH was made redundant 3 weeks ago - they closed his company - and he was very emotional because he'd been there years. Trying to get him through that and support him now to try and find another job. He feel's crap and I feel awful that there's nothing I can do.

Big hug coming your way.

MadKatz · 18/04/2011 13:23

Liz with my glucose test, I could only have water and nothing else from midnight. They took bloods then made me drink a sugary drink, had to wait 2 hours in the hospital then and then they took more blood. Had to have mine done because I was so overweight pre-pregnancy and all my mum's side have diabetes.
Got results this morning and everythings fine, but they will repeat this at about 28 weeks.

lizandlulu · 18/04/2011 13:55

how is he today melly? i hope he is feeling better now he is sober. maybe the drink just made everything worse in his head? my dh had depression after we were burgled and he was suicidal for a short while and would spend days at a time in bed just staring into space. its horrible when you dont kow how to help them and still have to keep the rest of the family and house togetherSad

do you think he would benefit from councelling? just an idea as if he is bottling it up from you, it might be good for him to talk to a stranger about it.

Melly19MummyToBe · 18/04/2011 14:08

Went up to see him 10 minutes ago. He was just lying in bed with his eyes shut when I left him. I don't think he's been asleep, just dozing. I heard him answer his phone about an hour ago and he sounded wide awake, and he was wide awake when I walked in the room. He says he's starving but doesn't want to risk eating incase it makes him sick again. He doesn't really tend to bottle things up from me which is good. But I will suggest counselling, I know it sounds mean but I don't want to be saddled with his problems right now when I'm 7 months pg. I'm glad it's just us 2 at the moment though, and I don't have to look after him AND the baby.

lizandlulu · 18/04/2011 15:08

well keep strong, dont let it get you down if you can help it. does he think its just the beer thats made him bad, or does he think its a bug?

KLou111 · 18/04/2011 15:15

Oh Melly I am so sorry. It sounds awful what your OH is going through. I know it's a long shot, but can he get hypnotised or something for the pain? Not sure if all that works, but it's supposed to help some people so might be worth a thought.
Did he mix his drinks? I used to get reeeeeeally sick when I mixed mine.

On a lighter note, bubba just kicked and the laptop just moved LMAO!!!!! Grin

lizandlulu · 18/04/2011 15:57

well EON have been to fit the meter checking equipment, and he says there is not enough space in the meter house to put it, so he couldnt do anything but read the meter! not got to wait for them to get in touch with me to try an alternative check. will probably not be till beginning of mayShock i am stil lwaiting for the woman i originally spoke to, to ring and take payment for the meter check service! good job she isnt very efficient at her job seeing as they cant even do it.

MadKatz · 19/04/2011 22:17

DH Got a job today Grin starts 3rd of May.

Now all we've got to do is move house!

Melly19MummyToBe · 20/04/2011 18:56

Evening! Well DP is back to his usual self. He had some food monday evening and perked up a bit, went to bed monday night, woke up yesterday like nothing had happened! I was terrified he was going to go all depressed or something. But no, he's fine now. I think it was just the mixture of a lack of food on sunday and too much cider that made him that ill. He hardly ate any of his tea and had 3 cans of strongbow before he'd even left the house! Don't know how much he had when he went out. Too much cider and not enough food is never a good thing. The only time I have EVER been ill from drinking too much is when it was my 18th and I had 9 small bottles of red Jacques. I wasn't even ill at my 18th birthday party and I was drinking cocktails with tequila in from 12 in the afternoon till about midnight! Didn't even feel tipsy to be honest Hmm

Thats really good Madkatz! I'm really glad for you :)

How is everyone anyway? Sorry it's such a long post!

lizandlulu · 20/04/2011 21:37

great news madkatz!!! and have you got your eye on anywhere to move to?

melly i am so glad your dp is back to usual.

well i feel like i have had 2 days rolled into one!. had to be at the hospital for 9am, was there till half 11, then got back to town to take lulu to the cinema, then supermarket, then got home and did a few jobs,. she has only just gone to bed andi have got to sort out some stuff i have sold on ebay...phew!!

will hear tomorrow if i do have gestational diabetes. but they wont get in touch if nothing is wrong, so no news is good news!

MadKatz · 21/04/2011 07:21

OK, so we said yes to a 3 bed house last night! They say it comes in 3's....whats going to happen today? Grin

Hope everyone's ok. 16wk appointment with the mw this afternoon.

KLou111 · 21/04/2011 10:12

Madkatz wow, you are having a good week!!! Sounds like it's all happening in your household, congrats on all accounts!! Hope all goes well at your appt this aft :)

Melly, great that your OH is feeling a lot better, nothing worse than a long hangover lol!

Liz sounds like you've been a busy bee!!!

Well, I am officially 'viable' today, well, bubba is Grin 24 weeks today. Quite scary that could go into labour from anytime now Hmm
Seeing MW this afternoon, so hoping to go through classes etc along with the usual things

'Moved' into conservatory on Tuesday, love it!! So warm at night, and as it's light later, it's nice to be able to enjoy it fully. Lounge now looks huuuuuuge with no furniture in it lol. Can't wait to have it plastered, but got a few things to do first. Got friend coming next Wednesday to help DH put our en-suite in (nothing there at the mo, so they're starting from scratch), then friends wife and son coming next Friday for the bank hol weekend. DH brother coming this Saturday, and puppy tomorrow Grin All go here!!

What you are up to? x

Melly19MummyToBe · 21/04/2011 11:50

Well we were going to have a nice lazy easter weekend. But we're hopefully having a bannister fitted instead which I am pleased about, but I'm also gutted. DP is having 3 weeks off work mainly to spend with me. But so far I've hardly seen him this week! He's been busy doing jobs for other people!

So are you all ready for Bella coming home then Klou? Bet you're so excited!

Good luck at your appointment later Madkatz! I'm glad you're having such a good week!

Wow you have been busy Liz! By the way, did you ever find out why they wanted another urine sample off you?

lizandlulu · 21/04/2011 13:40

melly no i asked the midwife about it on tues and she hadnt heard anything about it so it couldnt have been anything to worry about. to be honest i totally forgot about it ori couldh ave asked at the hospital yesterday.

well over the weekend, i am at work tomorrow, then got to get this new horsebox ready for staying in as we are going racing in it sun and monday, then monday night me and lulu are going to centre parcs to stay with the in laws till wed. i am not looking forward to it really. its a long sotry but the relatoinship is very strained at the moment, but my brother and sister in laws are going to be there too so might not be too bad.

dh cant go as he has got to stay at work with dad still not being back full time, so its down to meSad

KLou111 · 21/04/2011 17:31

Sounds a bummer Liz being at work and all. Sounds fun Sunday though :)

Saw MW, everything fine in there :) got to have anaemia blood test in 3 weeks, then see the MW in 4 (prob in Midlands then so prob be week after).

Very excited about picking up puppy tomorrow. She now has a new name lol, Sian :)
I wanted to call her Sian from the start, but we were a bit Hmm as DH parents had a red setter when I was little (I've known DH since I was 3), and she was the most beautiful thing, and she was called Sian. It was quick to say, and didn't have to shorten it. Anyway, earlier I said to DH we are going to write down 2 names each and if one matches we'll call her that. I wrote Bella and Sian, he wrote Neve and Sian (I really like Neve too lol!!) so it's Sian now :)
Also spoke to my mum and she said you can't call it Bella, I had an Aunty Bella so it sounds like an old womans name to me ha ha!

Melly19MummyToBe · 21/04/2011 18:45

Haha one of my work colleagues has a daughter called Sian [bugrin]

I'm loving these easter smilies [busmile][bubiscuit][bugrin]

KLou111 · 22/04/2011 18:23

We've got puppy home, she's been good as gold all afternoon. We've gone back to Bella!! After trying to get used to Sian, we couldn't and kept calling her Bella, so Bella it is! She settled in lovely and we've been in the garden, and she's currently sitting on a beanbag in the conservatory.

Such a beautiful day again, although it looks as if it's going to hammer it down any minute!

Bubba been booting me a lot today, and currently is. Obviously wants his/her dinner!! [busmile]

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 22/04/2011 19:20

ahh bella was obviousley ment to be!

this weather has killed me today at work. i have not been out in the sun particularily as i have spent most of the day inside, but just the heat has tired me out more than usual. i keep thinking of the fact that i dont have too long left at work and that time cant come soon enough!

Melly19MummyToBe · 25/04/2011 12:02

Everyone have a nice weekend? I spent saturday afternoon inside on the sofa because it was far too hot outside and was making me feel ill! Yesterday I just spent the day in my jammies :o Simon and his uncle fitted the bannister yesterday and saturday. After 15 months we finally have one!

How are you getting on with Bella Klou? I'm so jealous [buenvy] I'd love a dog!

I'm getting fed up now, 34 weeks tomorrow and I can't get comfy anywhere, constantly need to pee and getting sick of being booted in the ribs and it's too hot to be this pregnant. Also, my shoulder is still in agony :( in a maximum of 8 weeks she will be here though, can't come quick enough! Still need to pack my bag actually. . .
