hiya girls..

klou have you felt it yet?

melly they have LOADS of them chairs at kiddicare, lulu tried most of them outGrin although very expensive from there. i did get a yummy mummy changing bag,a tomy digital monitor and a bath support.

they didnt even have the pushchair i want though, they do have it for delivery only, but i wanted to actually look at it before i buySad

there was nothing else that caught my eye, apart from this quinny senzz www.quinny.com/fr-en/strollers/quick-use/senzz you can buy the pram unit and car seat to go with it, but its not really what i was looking for, i wanted a proper pram to start with.

Melly19MummyToBe · 02/04/2011 20:55

Thats a nice pushchair Liz, what pushchair did you really want though? And did your friend have fun lol?

I tried looking on ebay Klou, couldn't really find any that included delivery, will have to have another look though. Is bubba ok?

I spent £100 today without really realising it!! Went in TKmaxx to get a cot mattress, only one left in the shop and it was £25. Then I went in Mothercare and got a crib mattress, a crib bale, 2 spare bed sheets, changing mat, and 12 baby coat hangers :) All that came to £75! I hung the hangers in the wardrobe earlier, they just look so cute and dinky!!!

Simon bought me a mothers day present earlier, a potted Gerbera, and on the tag he put "to mummy, happy mothers day, lots of love from Poppy" :o He just put it on the kitchen windowsill and expected me to actually notice it. And when I didn't, he made me go back in until I did notice it!

Melly19MummyToBe · 02/04/2011 21:02

This is the chair I think I'm getting!

lizandlulu · 03/04/2011 09:51

happy mothers day all Smile

well so far i have got a hime made card that i helped lulu make yesterday and sod all else! he has nipped out to see about some birds [new hobby] but we are going to thorsby market when he gets back
this is the pushchair i want melly www.preciouslittleone.com/product-information/20/15094/obaby-3tec-3-in-1-purple-pushchair---blackpurple/ but with the pram unit and car seat too. turns out i can get it from a shop in grantham, but delivery only, they dont have it in stock in the shop, so if i dont like it in the flesh i would only have to take it back 12 miles. think i will get it from there. i told dh that with footmuff and rain cover and all added extras it will be around £550 and he nearly choked! but i reasoned that i willingly spends that on birds and racing so toughSmile

Happy Mummies Day!!

Love the Obaby Liz and love the colour!! Looks very posh :)

Chair looks lovely melly I really want one, but don't think we have the room :( We've got a lovely wooden chair we've had for yonks which is a light wood colour. I've asked DH if he can spray/paint it white and he said he could, so that can be my 'nursing' chair. Link for chair here melly for the £99 one.

Got a lovely gift from my mum and dad for today. Got a lovely mum-to-be mother day card and a Sanctuary Mum-To-Be pamper pack. It's got everything in it including stretch mark oil stuff for before or after, so hoping if I use it now I won't get them!!

Gave the nappies their first wash yesterday, they looked soooooo cute on the line, I even took a piccy, which I'll put up. DH said they looked like chickens! Neighbour saw them and said wish she'd had reusables as it was costing them at least £10 per week in nappies (have a 7 and 3 year old). Also asked us if we had any names planned, and told them we'd stole one off them (Ewan/Iwan), but they didn't mind. Actually think they were more flattered (even though it wasn't because of them, we liked the name before)
Also said how we liked Osian (O as in n'o't - shan) and have since found out it's our other neighbours guinea pigs name lol!!

Sorry about the huge post. Hope the rest of you are OK xxx

oh how lovely and thoughtful of your mum and dad to get you something like thatSmile

i was going to get one of those chairs first time round, but didnt and i wished i did. my dad got me an antique rocking chair but it wasnt all that comfy so ended up sitting on my bed most of the time.

but i will have a look at that link and might see about getting one this time as we are now settled in our own house and will be feeding the baby in their own room once its moved into its cot after moses basket, so will get the use out of it. i had been looking at a couple on local ebay, but even second hand ones make £50+

hope you are all having a nice day, we ended up at meadowhall after the market, but didnt really buy anything for me, but got a really cute disney thumper wind up cot toy and rattle from the disney store. i love it in there!

lizandlulu · 04/04/2011 13:05

afternoon all, hope you are all well.

i have been very teary since friday. not like me at all, but dad shouted at me for making a mistake at work which left me blubbering. then i had a little cry last night cause lulu just wouldnt go to sleep and was being very awkward, then once she WAS asleep i had a cry at not getting anything for mothers day and not being thought about. THEN this morning, i said to mum that i tohught she wasnt very nice about letting me go without when she could have taken lulu to the shops after school to get something, and cried again!
she said it was dh's fault for not getting me anything, which it is, but she knows he is at work every day till 6 and that he is useless at these things and if it was me i would have thought about that and made sure she had at least a little bit of something

the things that bothers me is that i would NEVER let him go without on fathers day, even just a card or a mug that says no.1 dad or something like that, but i will return the favourSad

do you think i am being harsh?

Iwish · 04/04/2011 17:45

Liz I don't think you are being harsh. My mum and dad both worked strange hours and always manages to get something from me and my little bro when we were little. Even flowers from asda on the way home from work.
I'm evil and would do the same to DP on fathers day! (well I would prob get something and give it him later once he had learnt his lesson!) have you told him it upset you? Not sure about your mum tho as i dont really know much about your mum but I know mine wouldn't remind DP or get something.

Are you feeling better after your cry? ((hugs)) xx

KLou111 · 04/04/2011 18:41

So sorry you're feeling ugh Liz and bloody right too!!!! I think it was a bit out of order of your DH for not getting you anything too, I'd bloody hit the roof!! It's just the thought of not being thought of I think that would hurt the most.
I would defo do the same on Father's Day, and I'm a big softie when it comes to being 'mean' but I wonder whether he would be that bothered anyway, would he? Big hugs to you too xx

Hope all OK with you Iwish

Baby very active at the mo (at least I think it's baby as it's not butterfly like anymore, more like bubbles bursting in my belly as if I have wind) Kept me awake at 5ish for a couple of hours, then didn't wake up til 10:10am!! :)

OP posts:
Melly19MummyToBe · 04/04/2011 18:56

Same, I wouldn't be chuffed if I didn't get anything, and I would 'forget' about fathers day too. I practically have an automatic crying mechanism, if anyone says the slightest harsh words to me I start blubbing. Slightest disappointment or disagreement and I'm in tears! So I know how you feel on that point. I hope he makes it up to you somehow :)

I am soooooooo annoyed. My sisters goven me her old cot, it's a mamas & papas one, but it's about 10 years old, was 2nd hand when she got it! It's a drop side one but the drop side catches are broken so the side doesn't stay up. I have literally trawled the internet looking for replacements and I have only found these, aibu to think that they are bloody extortionate for a couple of bits of plastic???

KLou111 · 04/04/2011 18:58

How effing much????? But I suppose if you got a free cot, it's not a lot lol :)

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 04/04/2011 18:59

iwish not feeling better really, but getting over it! i told him i was upset about it but all you get out of him is 'i work all the time and dont get chance but you know i love you' but its not about being loved, its about being appreciated!

klou my baby keeps kicking or punching me in my bladder. you know when you have a bubbly upset stomach, well like that but stronger. its doesnt feel very nice! i can also feel it above my belly button, like if i put my hand on the space above my belly button i usually feel it in the morning while laid in bed. i was showing dh your pics earlier cause i look like a beached whale and was saying to him 'look at this woman, shes only 10 days behind me, look at her compared to me!' hope you dont mind me showing him your bellyGrin

lizandlulu · 04/04/2011 19:00

corssed post, hmm i would say that woman is taking the piss if she thinks people will pay that for them! have you tried to contact mamas and papas for replacement?

Melly19MummyToBe · 04/04/2011 19:09

Yeah I emailed them and because the cot is so old, they don't make the parts for it anymore and none of the drop-side ones they do have similar parts. But they did send me an instructional manual too which will be useful as we have no idea to build it! Looks like we'll just have to screw the side in place, can't afford £22 for 2 bits of plastic.

Klou when I first felt baby move I thought I had an upset stomach because it felt all bubbly and weird. Then I realised what it actually was and I was just like Shock

Did a load of baby washing earlier, had to take a couple of pictures. I almost cried seeing all those dinky socks and mittens lined up on the airer :o

lizandlulu · 04/04/2011 19:17

oh, well the ebay person has you right in the palm of thier handSad what are you going to do?

are you washing all your baby stuff? i dont know if to or not, i did with dd's stuff tho.

i am struggling to decide what furniture to get i really like this but the reviews for the same thing in white are shocking. i know a lady who runs a pine shop in town and shes made me stuff before so might take her a pic and see if she can make me it, but maybe abit wider to make the hanging space abit more[[http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Babies-R-Us/Nursery/Wardrobes/Shoreditch-Wardrobe-in-Natural(0081820)

i love white furniture but wont match the cotSad

Melly19MummyToBe · 04/04/2011 19:50

I'm washing all my baby stuff, PFB and all that :o

Just showed simon the latches on ebay and he says he could possibly be able to make some out of wood!

That's a gorgeous wardrobe Liz! Although if there are a lot of bad comments I would ask that lady to see if she can make you it.

KLou111 · 04/04/2011 20:06

That is lovely Liz,be great if the lady you know can make it.
Lol at showing your DH my piccies, but it's my first, so everything still 'in tact' if you know what I mean!! Still wish I had a bump. DH thinks he's got out of buying me a new 'wardrobe' at the moment!

Know what you mean melly about the clothes on the line being so cute. I did our nappies 1st wash a couple of days ago (photo on here) and made me smile so much. Can't wait for bubba to be here.
Will wash all my baby clothes once wardrobe in nursery and have somewhere to put stuff.
Hope Simon can make the latches.
Was so confused about feeling bubba as it has changed from what I used to feel (been feeling from about 14 weeks a butterfly feeling).

did you watch one born every minuite? god i love that programmeGrin

Melly19MummyToBe · 05/04/2011 13:16

Just wait till you actually see baby moving Klou! My stomach ripples sometimes, it's so weird! I'd love to know what she's doing in there to make it do that! I also think those nappies look like chickens. Although if you hadn't mentioned it I probably wouldn'tve thought "oooooh yeah! they DO look like chickens!!". I had a thought last night Klou, are you using any stretch mark stuff now? Because it will help loads when your bump does pop out, you could wake up one morning and have a belly the size of a football that resembles a road map if you're not careful! It happened to DPs SIL :o

Melly19MummyToBe · 05/04/2011 13:18

Wow that went a bit wrong.

No liz, I'm banned from watching it, in Simons exact words:-

"Why on earth would I want to watch other women giving birth?? It's gonna be hard enough seeing you giving birth! Just the thought of it makes me feel sick!"

I am probably going to punch him one day soon if he carries on like that Hmm

lizandlulu · 05/04/2011 15:19

its a good job he is good in other areas Grin i love watching it to see how other women cope! there was one lady on it (and i use the trem lady lightly!) who was screaming and moaning and pleading right from the start, writhing on the bed and begging for an epidural, but the midwife checked her and she was 2cm dialated! her mum had to say to her, look you are making a fool of yourself and making it a whole lot worse than it is, just calm down.

another chinese lady did nothing but complain, she was being induced and just moaned the whole time, it ended with her going for a walk to get things moving and as she was going out the door she was saying ' i dont know why i wanted a baby, it was only cause everyone we know is having babies, i'm not maternal, im not sure what i want now' Hmm bit late for that duck!

Melly19MummyToBe · 05/04/2011 15:58

Some people! I saw a clip of it once on Harry Hills TV Burp, this woman was in hospital room walking around puffing and panting, obviously in discomfort, and her OH was sat in a chair eating fish and chips just watching her, then he just goes "Fancy a chip?" I think it was the 'TV Highlight Of The Week'

lizandlulu · 05/04/2011 17:54

Hmm considerate. this chinese woman was diabetic and he said to her 'fancy walking to the hospital restaurant?' she said whats the point, you wont let me have cake' he said ' i will let you look at it' Grin

its my only day off work tomorrow, i am looking forward to it soooo much!

KLou111 · 05/04/2011 19:21

LMAO at those comments girls!!
Have the last 5 weeks recorded, but DH doesn't want to watch it, he just wants to 'get there when he has to' lol :)

Re the stretch mark stuff Melly there was some in that pack my mum and dad bought so I'm starting to use it. I was using baby oil before that for the last couple of weeks :)

Am starting to feel a bit 'stretched' as it happens. Although I still can't really see a huge bump, I do have something there, so I am guessing I will pop very soon!!
