Wow Liz bargain! Seeing the midwife tomorrow morning, 10am. Although it'll probably be more like 10.15, they're always running about 15 minutes late. Even first thing in the morning!

Melly19MummyToBe · 31/03/2011 16:00

I'm also leaving work tomorrow now, instead of the end of April. My shoulder is hurting me too much even after the week of rest I had. My boss says I have to write a letter tonight explaining I want to leave earlier because of health and safety issues etc etc. So, tomorrow is my last day of work for god knows how long! Not so chuffed at having to leave almost a whole month earlier though, even if there is only 9 days of actual work left.

lizandlulu · 31/03/2011 16:05

will that affect how many weeks you can have off after the birth? are you going back to the same place?

KLou111 · 31/03/2011 16:08

Bet that's come as a bit of a surprise melly!!

Just been looking at 3d/4d scan places. Quite lucky as we get to pick Wales or Midlands :) Found a place in Leicester (See Your Baby) and they do quite good packages, and not badly priced either. Looking around 20th May as I'll be 28 weeks then.

Melly19MummyToBe · 31/03/2011 16:37

Yes I will have almost 4 weeks less afterwards. Although to be honest, I'm not sure it's worth me going back to work, I only do an hour and a half a day and what I earn will just get spent on childcare! And no way am I sending her to MIL, she has 2 dogs and I'm allergic so what if Poppy is aswell? and one of them is vicious and tends to hump small children. She would shut them away whenever she goes round there though but it's not fair on anyone really. Especially as she already has her DILs 3yo brat DD every thursday when she's not even real family. Said DIL is also pregnant so will expect MIL to have her new brat baby all the time aswell. It's just one big bloody mess really.

KLou111 · 31/03/2011 17:45

That's a shame Melly. Can you not get childcare help from the government as you only work a few hours a week. Just a thought if you need to get out lol.

DH just spoke to some friends getting married 13th August. Gutted can't go as am due 11th August, (but obviously more excited to be having bubba :) ) If baby comes early, and am 'up for it' may go to the evening do, but don't know about travelling back to the Midlands that soon.
Hen/stag do's are a month before, so here's hoping am not too early! Don't know what the 'hen' is doing yet, so may not be able to go anyway, but groom is going go-karting and all that jazz.

Just off to start dinner. Chicken friend rice tonight, CAN'T BLOODY WAIT!!!

How excited are you for tomorrow Madkatz, bet you can't wait Grin

lizandlulu · 31/03/2011 18:25

sorry melly but i couldnt help laughing at 'one of them tends to hump small children' Grin

do you have to make a decision about if you want to go back any time soon or can you wait and see how you feel nearer the time?

klou one of my oldest friends is getting married 1st of october and i though great she will have a hen night some time septemper ish so i can go and have a night out. nope, shes having it end of july, going to blackpool on a bloody whole weekend, so i wont be goingSad some people are just so inconsiderate!

MadKatz · 31/03/2011 21:45

HI Ladies,
My scan is at 9am although have been told to turn up an hour early Hmm so aiming to get there about 8.15, then I have to have bloods done. Will let you all know as soon as I can x

lizandlulu · 31/03/2011 21:47

well the earlier it is saves you waiting all day for itSmile

Iwish · 01/04/2011 08:05

Hey madkatz hope all goes well this morning. Let us know how you get on as soon as you can. I'll be on here checking if you have posted lol xx

GruffaloMama · 01/04/2011 10:16

Hi all. Madkatz I hope the scan had gone well. excellent news about the pushchair Liz. I like the Luna. Melly sorry to hear that your shoulder is still a problem but it makes a lot of sense to give up now if that's the case. Just booked our hols yesterday - Cornell for a week before Easter. Really looking forward to it. On my phone so not seen the photos of the nursery pics but sound fab. Have good weekends all.

MadKatz · 01/04/2011 11:00

Hello Ladies,
Oh my god that is the most amazing thing in the world. It took a while to find him/her and I had drunk too much water so had to go to the loo 3 times before she could get a proper close up! Hmm
Both DH and I cried, it was so lovely.

Hope you're all ok

MadKatz · 01/04/2011 11:00

Forgot to say, have uploaded a photo of the scan

Iwish · 01/04/2011 11:10

Aww madkatz I'm so happy for you and your pic is fab! Xx

hey gruffalo! Have a lovely weekend x

KLou111 · 01/04/2011 12:07

OMG madkatz that pic is lovely! Bet you're both over the moon Grin
Best thing ever (until bubba is born lol)

Well, I am totally pissed off this morning. Bought a gro bag for bubba off ebay, described as new. Won for £4.49 inc P&P. Turned up the other day and had marks all round the collar - it was BABY SICK!!!!
Told seller wanted full refund as item NOT new. Said send back and would refund me. Checked they would pay my return postage, and they said they would.
Refunded me, but only £4.49, not the £2.24 it cost to send back. Anyway, emails have been going backwards and forwards and they said I am trying to make money for the return postage. Thick bitch!!! I am sooooooo Angry
I have now sent her an email back breaking down everything that I have paid and what I have been refunded as she obviously is not educated in maths!!
I know it's only £2.24, but it's the principal of it.
Sorry, just had to air that!!!

lizandlulu · 01/04/2011 12:58

ah madkatz its a lovely pic, so so glad it all went well. was your dates all right?

klou that pisses me off so much too, why cant they just be honest. and to send something that hasnt even been washed is just disgusting. you are right it is the principal of the matter but dont go stressing yourself out over it, its not worth it! can you put a claim in on paypal?
things like that dwell on my mind for days, i would never do that and if someone is not happy with something i sell then i awlays offer straight away to give them a refund inc postage!

MadKatz · 01/04/2011 14:39

It's the little hands I love, they show up so clear. They dated me at 13+2, due 5th October Smile

I would be pissed off too Klou at that, why do people mis-sell so much on there? I am always more than honest on all of my listings, its just not worth the hassle, shame everyone isn't like that.

Melly19MummyToBe · 01/04/2011 14:41

Well, I am officially now on maternity leave! Although I do still have to go in for a bit on 28th to get my leaving pressie see Pat off, the woman who's retiring on that day.

Thats awful Klou, maybe you could post that in the ebay threads and see what people say you could do?

Thats a great picture Madkatz, I bet it seems a lot more real now doesn't it?

Liz, the midwife didn't look, but she said it does sound like thrush and I should ring my GP to get a prescription for some cream.

Can't believe it's 1st April already! Wheres the year going???

Melly19MummyToBe · 01/04/2011 14:42

Crikey, 5th October! I'm due 7th June :o

lizandlulu · 01/04/2011 14:56

melly shame she just couldnt do you a prescription for you instead of having to see a doctorSad everything else ok?

i have had a letter from my doctors to say that the wee sample i gave when i went last week for the scan needs to be done again. it doesnt say why buti have got to drop a sample into the doctors. when i gave the midwife the sample at the hospital she said there was alot of debris in it, most likely from the thrush that just wont go away but they would be in contact if anything was wrong. its got me bit worried now!

Melly19MummyToBe · 01/04/2011 17:09

Yep everything else is fine, she had a poke and a prod at my belly then got the heartbeat up, sounded like a galloping horse and she was like "Blimey I thought it was a girl??" She said that the baby has what they call, 'a reactive heartbeat' not entirely sure what she meant, but she didn't seem to be worried. I'm 30+3 and measuring 31 weeks, so slightly above average but otherwise fine :)

That's a bit strange Liz, I hope everythings okay! Try not to worry though :)

lizandlulu · 01/04/2011 20:43

but i thought a horse sounding heartbeat was a girl and a train a boy?

i got abit owrried first thing this morning too cause i didnt feel it move till about half 9. it made me realise actually how much i do feel it, and it is alot more than i thought i did. i was sta at mums after taking dd to school and just before going to work, and i saw it kick out at the top of my belly! actually saw it move!!! thats a first for meSmile

woo hoo i am off to kiddicare tomorrow, i was looking at the website to get the postcode as i have not been to the new massive store, and its got a place that does scans too! how cool is that! 3d and 4 d and allsorts of things you would get from a usual private scan place. plus a restaurant. i am only going to have a look to see what they have got, i like to look at everything available before i buyGrin although i have got in mind to buy a monitor and bath support.

i am going with my childless best friend who will probably be bored to tears!

Melly19MummyToBe · 01/04/2011 21:00

I don't think so, every other time I've been she sounded like a train :o the midwife said she thought it was just galloping because she'd had to jiggle her around a bit. It slowed down to a train after a few moments though.

That does sound pretty cool, I'd LOVE to go to Kiddicare. Although I think I would either be in debt when I left, or be so overwhelmed by everything that I wouldn't buy anything apart from something really random, like a pair of socks. Or mittens.

Oooooooh hopefully getting a rocking chair soon!! One of those posh glider ones that have a matching footstool :)

Melly19MummyToBe · 01/04/2011 21:02

PS Liz, I hope your friend has lots of fun Wink:o

KLou111 · 02/04/2011 12:07

Melly they've got those chairs on ebay (brand new) for £99 delivered, somay be worth checking it out. They do different colour wood frames too, including white.

Kiddicare sounds like so much fun Liz, wish we had a big store round here :(

Got my reusable nappies yesterday, so think am going to give them their first wash today as the weather is lovely. Can't wait to see nappies on the line Grin
Bought the Eco bumble ones as only 5 for £15 delivered! So bought 20 to start with. Need covers still.

Not felt bubba for days, so am going to have a little listen in a bit.

Have a great day all xxx
