until he goes to sleep on the sofaShock

MadKatz · 21/03/2011 21:55

Evening Ladies,

Hope you're all ok. Thank you all for the birthday wishes. DH and I are at work all day but going out for a meal at an all you can eat indian/chinese tomorrow night only a 2 minute walk away.Grin

Lots of twinges here which I'm glad about. Would rather have them than nothing as before. Scan less than 2 weeks away now Smile

lizandlulu · 22/03/2011 09:11

ohh sounds nice madkatz!

i am not sure good luck later is the right thing to say klou but you know what i meanGrin let us know what goes on, i will prob be on later this aft.

have a lovely day everyone Smile

KLou111 · 22/03/2011 11:11

Was thinking of you at 10:30 Liz hope everything been going well :)

So excited for this afternoon Grin

Not watched OBEM for 3 weeks, but they've all been recorded on the box to watch later on :)

All you can eat sounds SOOOOOOO good Madkatz, have a fantastic evening. Happy birthday again x

Our monitor turned up today. Been testing it, and had DH running all over the house to see if he could hear me on both the handsets. It kept going off at first as obviously no baby on the mat (Angel care sound and movement one), so that obviously works!!! Had to turn it off and couldn't read the instructions quick enough. It's great though, and really recommend it so far. Really pleased I got the 2 monitors too, will work so much better for us than having to carry the one around the house.

Hi all

Happy birthday madkatz! hope you have a lovely day x

klou and Liz I hope your appts go well today, let us know how you get on.

melly hope you are ok today and have given those carpet fitters what for :)

gruffalo hope you are ok today. I watched obem last night - I love it and do get a little tear in my eye.

Well today I'm not happy. I just want to cry, not quite sure why but I keep filling up at my desk and just feel like I need to crawl back in bed - was the same last night.
On a good note - scan in 6 days yippee!

lizandlulu · 22/03/2011 14:05

iwish its just your hormones, dont worry about it, just feel what you want toSmile

well all was ok apart from one small thing the sonographer was concerned about. a tiny part of the kidney called renal pelvis (i think) was slightly larger than normal, she said it might just be cause the baby is waiting to have a wee, but i have got to go back at 32 week to see if it has corrected itself or not.

all the size and weights were normal, although she didnt say what these were and my placenta is at the front which can sometimes act as a cushion which is why i dont feel that much.

but it was really amazing to see it actually moving on the screen, before it was too small to really see it more, but you could see its hands moving and legs kickingpSmile she said it kept hiding under my belly button and wriggling about so it took her a while to get the measurements she needed.

Melly19MummyToBe · 22/03/2011 14:28

Can't babies wee in the womb then? Crikey imagine having to wait 20 weeks for a wee!! I'm glad everything is ok Liz, apart from that one little thing, hope it's all ok :)

I know exactly how you feel Iwish, I just feel like crying at the tiniest little disagreement or disappointment. DP rang the carpet fitters today before I had chance to, good job I suppose because I probably would've burst into tears on the phone! They are sending someone round tomorrow to look at it.

11 weeks today left to go :o

KLou111 · 22/03/2011 15:56

Hi all,

Glad your scan went well Liz, hope all is OK at 32 weeks. You lucky thing, you get to see bubba again!

Everything went well here too, although baby wasn't playing nice!!! Would either wriggle around so sonographer couldn't take measurements, or would bury it's head low down and not move!
I had to go and walk up and down the stairs a few times to get him/her to move position lol. Been feeling 'her' wriggling like a good-un all morning and since scan.
Everything measured up OK, and give or take 2 or 3 days, my measurements are all OK.
Weird looking at baby face on!! Had hand in the way so could see all the face, but saw nose, lips and eyes at different points and all OK there.

Didn't get any great pictures, the ones we got are of baby face down and not too clear which is a shame.

Didn't find out the flavour, and I couldn't see a willy lol, but sonographer said 'he' on one occasion but that may have just been as she didn't want to say 'it'.
When she took measurements from underneath, it looked like there was a pair of balls, but it easliy could have been 'lips' lol! So none the wiser.

Sorry you're feeling weepy Iwish, all part of it. DH thinks I'm just being soft when I get emotional over the smallest of things, men just don't get it!!

lizandlulu · 22/03/2011 16:05

melly i dont know if they can wee in there or not, i think so, she must have ment waiting till it felt like having a wee. who knows!

klou i am so glad everything was well with yoursSmile i dont knwo how they see anything from those scans, i can tell what things are if i look side on at the baby. but thats it

Iwish · 22/03/2011 17:38

Thanks girlies. I feel like I'm just going to explode into tears recently. DP says yeh it's the hormones but doesn't do the nice thing by just giving me a kiss and a cuddle he just goes off in a huff. Men!!
I swear I'm turning into my nan - sat here watching the birds eating off the feeder, makes me feel happier.

Liz glad the scan went ok, hopefully the little thing sorts itself out.

klou glad your scan went ok too - little wriggler moving around all the time bless.

melly yeh I read somewhere they wee in there. Can't believe you only have 11 weeks left - how exciting!!

I can't wait till the scan!!! I want to see my baby now lol.

lizandlulu · 23/03/2011 09:19

my dh said to me the other day 'why dont you ever look happy?' i asked what he ment he said 'you never seem very happy about being pregnant'

i said that its cause i feel shit, its not the being pregnant bit i want, its the baby after! i am no good at being pregnant and dont feel the bloom like others do. plus if i had abit of help around the house and with our daughter and didnt have to work so much i might feel a tad better dont you think?'

ha ha that shut him up! (still didnt movitave him to do anything helpful though)

KLou111 · 23/03/2011 12:36

oooooo Liz, you beatch you LMAO!!!
Fair play though, men just don't get it! We still have to do everything we normally do AND while we're knackered, teary and pregnant!!!

lizandlulu · 23/03/2011 15:38

god a feel crap today, really got no energy, just want to slepe even though i slept like a log last night.

and keep getting heavy feelings around my belly, might be them braxton hicks, do you think its too early for them?

just dont feel goodSad

Iwish · 23/03/2011 18:45

Sorry your feeling so rubbish Liz. Can't really comment on braxton hicks but I hope you feel better soon. LMAO at what you said to your DH earlier tho!!

Hope everyone else is ok?

I'm feeling happier and less tearful today. I'm sure DP will be happy with that lol. Am 12 weeks on Friday too - so happy.

5 days to go!!!!!! Woohoo!!

Melly19MummyToBe · 23/03/2011 19:06

Oh poor you Liz, I hope you feel better soon, tell your DH that you're going on strike for a few days so he will have to take over house and DD duties till you feel a bit more up to doing things! :)

Im glad everythings ok with the baby Klou although it's a pity you couldn't get any decent pictures.

What is it with men? DP reckons I should go to hospital to see someone because standing up for too long gives me a bad back! Hmm They just don't get it.

Well I have been put on sick leave for a week because of my bad shoulder, I went to see the DR and he said try paracetamol (which I have, they did naff all) or have rest for a week. I now have 9 working days left at work till I go on MLeave, it was 16 but because of my week off its gone down to 9. But I don't actually leave until 28th April! Work that one out :o

lizandlulu · 24/03/2011 11:33

you have totally confused me melly with the mat leave! i cant get my head round that.

well i dont feel no better, was up all last night with a pain across my belly, could be bellyache, could be braxton hicks, i dont kow but it kept me up all night. dh was very good for a change, i went in the bath while he had tea with lulu, wasnt for very long, but better than nothing, then he had her tidying up the living room for me.

i went to bed at 8 when lulu went but couldnt get to sleep and laid awake till about 6 this morning.

i still have the pain, although not as much and i have just rang the hospital assessment unit for advice. they said its prob just stretching and to take some paracetamol. if it gets worse or accompanied by bleeding then to ring them back.

i just dont feel wellSad

Melly19MummyToBe · 24/03/2011 11:41

I hope you're sat at home just relaxing today then! It doesn't sound like you would be upto doing anything much. I'm sorry you feel so crap, I really hope you feel better soon!

As for my MLeave, I work at a school, we break up on the 8th for the easter holidays and go back on the 26th, then I have 26th, 27th, and leave on 28th :o

lizandlulu · 24/03/2011 13:23

so how long will that give you before the baby is due? i am planning on leaving at 30 weeks as long as dad is back to full strength which he should be by then. i worked till 30 weeks last time, its just not practical to have a heavily pregnant woman working in a scrap yardGrin

i am at work this afternoon although not doing anything other than answering the phone and telling the men what to doGrin i think this what i have is just a bug as i have the squits too (sorry if tmi!) but its just running out of me when i go to the looSad

Melly19MummyToBe · 24/03/2011 13:30

Liz, I don't think anything is tmi when you're pregnant lol, it's suddenly entirely acceptable to speak about anything and everything :o does sound like a bug tbf though, do you think it could be something you ate?

I will be 34+2 weeks, so 5 weeks and 5 days till due date! I'm leaving on the same day as the lady who knitted the cardigans if you have had a peek? She's retiring, so we're leaving together!

lizandlulu · 24/03/2011 14:43

no i havent looked at them. i love newborn babies in knitted stuff. i used to put lulu in a bright pink babygrow with baby blue cardi on top and she looked really lovely!

the only thing i can think that it might be that i have eaten is a salmon sandwich, but it was from m & s so i didnt think it would be off

Melly19MummyToBe · 24/03/2011 15:14

She knitted a pink cardigan, and a white cardigan, my sister has knitted a hat, but it's not finished, it all needs stitching together apparantly and she doesn't have a needle to do it with. She said she started to make a pair of bootees aswell but her knitting needle snapped :o

Strange that just a salmon sandwich could possibly cause that. Maybe certain foods affect you differently when PG Hmm

lizandlulu · 24/03/2011 16:02

i might have just caught it off someone, dont know, just hope i sleep better tonight thani did last night.

just looked at your pics, the pink one is beautiful.

i am toying with the idea of leaving the baby room magnolia. it is freshly painted cause its a new house and i really dont want dh to start it and make a mess of the new carpet. even though i have already bought the paint i dont know what to do.

KLou111 · 24/03/2011 17:40

Hi all,
Sorry you're feeling shite Liz, another thing to have to deal with!! Glad your DH is behaving himself a bit better :)
I'd paint the nursery if you've got the paint and it's the colour you want. You don't want to get to baby stage and think, I wish I'd painted the nursery now lol!
Can't wait to do ours. Been stripping the windowsills in there today and our spar room. We've got wooden windows and sills, and the had them painted mahogany (ugh) when we moved in. We spent last year stripping them and re painting them in an oak colour (which, our conservatory now matches), but we never did the windowsills, so done the 2 in the nursery and 1 in spare room today, looks bloody lovely even if I do say so myself :) Think DH a bit gutted though as he wants to do the nursery. I'm not doing anymore though, only the sills in the house.

Bet you can't wait to leave Melly, then baby will be totally more real :) (not that she's not already, but you know what I mean!)

Have put my piccies of baby up. Had to do them upside down, as baby was photo'd upside down and looks odd!

PS, still no bump and halfway today :( / :)
