Iwish · 10/03/2011 17:08

Haha iwash!! Made me giggle. A room with me and you melly would be awful smelling. I think even we would need a peg Grin

lizandlulu · 10/03/2011 20:15

right ladies i have managed to take a pic, not very good but never mind. have a look and breathe a sigh of relief that you are not as big as meGrin

(please ignore the stretch marks, they were there before i got pg!)

Iwish · 10/03/2011 21:24

Awww Liz you have a bump!!! I want one!

10 weeks tomorrow, yippee!!

GruffaloMama · 10/03/2011 21:42

Liz glad to see I'm not the only one with a bump - way bigger than I was with DS at this stage. U recjin I'm prob about the same size as you. Not quite lost my feet when looking down IYSWIM? My mum keeps going on about it.

Just finished reading the garlic up the bum thread. Have been howling with laughter. Hope the pumps aren't that bad (BTW not exactly fragrant here either but I don't reckon I'd count as a bio-hazard).

GruffaloMama · 10/03/2011 21:43

I reckon not U recjin??? Unless I was Polish in a previous life?

lizandlulu · 10/03/2011 21:58

do you know i cant remember how big i was with dd and i cant find my diary from then either, i have probably put it in the baby box for safe keeping, now cant find it!

i have just been watching 'i didnt know i was pregnant' on one of these discovery channels, i have just been sat here the whole time with my gob wide openGrin

i know a woman who was 6 months gone before she found out, but she was a big lady and said she had preiods all throughout..

how can they not know though!????

Melly19MummyToBe · 11/03/2011 08:11

I was getting changed into my jammys last night and DP just looks at me and goes "you're huge" I was just like "gee thanks! You sure know how to make a girl feel good about herself Angry" But to be honest, I do have to agree with him I look like I've swallowed a bloody football!! Its impossible to get comfy in bed anymore, I need more pillows and cushions! And the mattress is shagged (although shagged to death might be a better way of describing it :oBlush), its only 3 years old!! At least I'm allowed a new one though, going to pick one later on today :o

Iwish · 11/03/2011 13:16

Hi all. Happy Friday! I cannot wait to got out of work today bit stressed and I think hormones may get the better of me and I will be a blubbering mess lol.

melly Grin at your mattress being shagged to death!! And Angry at your naughty DP saying that.

Big waves to everyone else xx

Melly19MummyToBe · 11/03/2011 15:10

Aww bless Iwish, what time do you finish work? I like hormones, you can blame everything on hormones :o!

Friday is a good day :)

lizandlulu · 11/03/2011 16:18

iwish hope you feel better when you et out of work, i have days like that, usually caused by my dd though.

my dh said last night in bed that i looked big! i was laid half in under the covers and half out reading, they are so charming arent they!

Iwish · 11/03/2011 17:10

Hey ladies I finished at 4:30. So happy when I got in the car lol. Having a girly night with my friend tonight with a nice pizza and a bit of tv Grin love my Friday nights.

melly I did blame the hormones quietly to myself. Couldn't tell anyone really :)

Liz I hope you gave him a dig and called him a cheeky swine :)

Hope you have all had a nice day xx

GruffaloMama · 11/03/2011 18:25

Crikey - if they think we're looking big now wait a couple of months!!! Iwish your evening sounds lovely. I've got a mammoth amount of washing to do this weekend before our building work starts and I lose my washing machine for a fortnight - oh the glamour! Glad you've made it through work today - I got really narky about something and sure that some people thought it was the hormones. I'm convinced it was just the idiots I was working with Wink

melly hope you got a nice mattress - have you get a mattress protector in case your waters break at night? Obviously won't need it right now... but not that far away really!

Liz I missed that programme but I have NO IDEA how people don't know their preg. I mean really. You must have a clue...

lizandlulu · 11/03/2011 18:42

ohh mattress protector, hadnt thought of that!

i have just been in the shower and was getting dressed and put on a stripy top with leggings cause we are going out for tea, again dh said 'god your big!' pause 'fucking hell your really big'

Hmm

like gruffalo said, we have got a bloody long way to go yet!

KLou111 · 11/03/2011 19:59

Happy weekend all!!

LMAO Liz but give your DH a big slap!!

We were food shopping this afternoon and my DH said I had a bump. Even though I've been dying for a bump, I think it's more podge than bump :)
Only put on 5lbs so far so been lucky, but more bloated recently.

Glad you're all done and relaxing now Iwish can't beat Fridays. Enjoy your girlie night.

Tempted to have a small glass of cider tonight. Not touched a drop, but it's calling me in the fridge, wish DH would blummin drink it!!

Hope you got your mattress Melly.

Good luck with your washing *Gruffalo, and you're building works :)

Well,I've found my perfect pram/pushchair/travel system. Was in my Tesco baby and toddler book I got today. It's here costs quite a bit more than I was thinking of, but the car seat/pram attachment is FAB!!! It goes from fully flat to upright, so will last longer than a normal car seat (up to 18 months depending on size etc)
Just got to break the news to my mum and dad now lol as they're buying it!! Will go out shopping with them though. I learnt my lesson there; I bought my wedding dress off the internet as so much cheaper than the shops but my mum was gutted we never went dress shopping, (and I was too, but my dress was a one off and bloody gorgeous :) ) so not going to deprive them again!!

Just looked at your bump Liz ahhhhhhhhhhh Grin Envy I put a 15 week pic up on my profile a few weeks ago, but it's not changed so I've not bothered putting the weekly ones up!!! Very jealous, I want a bump!!

OP posts:
lizandlulu · 12/03/2011 09:06

wow that car seat looks ace! me ands dh was looking at those seats that recline and lie flat as they wasnt about when we had dd,but have looked recently and they are quite expensive to buy on thier own, that looks really nice.

i really do think you get what you pay for. with dd i had 14 prams and pushchairsShock i know its alot but i hated having something that didnt live up to my expectations. most of them were bought second hand (off mumsnet and ebay)and i just thought its not worth having a hard time using them if you can change it for something better.

i am planning on buying what i actually want thought this time, not what i think i ought to have or choosing the cheaper version. i always do that, with clothes and everything, then end up nopt liking the cheaper one and buying the one i wanted in the first place!

Melly19MummyToBe · 12/03/2011 10:05

Thats a nice pram Klou, I have a Babystyle Oyster :)

I am going to invest in a mattress protector Gruffalo, it would be just my luck that my waters break in bed, I don't think DP would be very happy at having my Amniotic fluid all over the 3ish month old mattress!! I went to look yesterday found one I liked, was going to go back with DP when he got home from work but didn't have time, so we went today, not open :( BUT :o we have just picked the nursery carpet!! Its lovely and thick, with the underlay we've picked to go with it will be like walking on a bouncy castle :o

KLou111 · 12/03/2011 10:55

The oyster looks lovely Melly, so many decisions!!!
I was told that amniotic fluid smells like sperm, so a mattress protector would be a good idea!!

14 prams Liz bloody hell!!!! I thought I was choosy lol!!

OP posts:
Melly19MummyToBe · 12/03/2011 10:59

I've heard that aswell! And the mattress I like is dark blue, its made out of denim-something-or-other. So I guess amniotic fluid would make it an interesting colour!

Seriously Liz, 14 prams Shock?? Why did you have so many?

Melly19MummyToBe · 12/03/2011 14:16

Just put a couple of bump pics up, can't believe the difference in the sizes lol!!

lizandlulu · 12/03/2011 18:07

not 14 all at the same timeGrin 14 over the 3 years that she needed one. if i didnt like something then i just sold it and got something else. at least now i know pretty much what makes are good and which are not so muchSmile

klou yes i found amniotic fluid smells like sperm. i have always thought sperm has a bkeachy smell and its very like that.

melly you have a lovely bump, a really nice shapeSmile

GruffaloMama · 12/03/2011 20:14

Hiya - my waters were broken in hospital with DS so didn't have to clean up. But they weren't exactly gorgeous. But found the mattress protector really useful for the leaky boobs thing - mine settled down by about 6 weeks postnatally but it did make it easier to deal with. melly going to go look at your bump piccies now.

liz brill that you have had 14 prams/pushchairs... Think we had 3 in the end. Have kept all of them but the cheapy lightweight buggy will be knackered by the time we need it so thinking of a Maclaren because they really do push better, IYSWIM. Will also get my SIL's Jane Powertwin as DS will be 2yr and 9mo when bump arrives and I think there will be times when I need a buggy for both. And I need a buggy board. Bugger! Thought I wouldn't have to buy much but guess I will!

Melly19MummyToBe · 12/03/2011 20:51

Aww thanks Liz :) I think it rather looks like an AA roadmap with all the stretchmarks :o like you say, at least you have a good idea of which prams are the best ones!

Gruffalo Buggy boards are ace, my sister has one for her DS, he was 20 months when my sister had her DD. He's now nearly 4 so he walks with the buggy (which is a maclaren by the way and lovely to push) he got too heavy for the board eventually.

lizandlulu · 12/03/2011 20:55

i have kept 2 of the ones i had, a maclaren thats in the shed and a cheap stroller from mothercare that was used just for holidays, but both are pink! and the one thats in the shed will most likely be mouldy!

my waters broke at home, but managed to get to the loo and sit there while i phoned the hospital, so there wasnt much to clean up expect for a patch on the landing carpet. i dont remember there being much come out on the way to the hospital, but do remember sitting waiting for someone to see me and making quite a mess of one of the chairsBlush mine was just clear though
