Will anyone join a new baby bus with me?

I just got a BFP this morning so its very early days for me, but I'm so excited I thought what the hell, I'll head straight for the pregnancy thread anyway Grin

If all goes according to plan this will be DC2 and due on 2nd October. Ive enjoyed being on the October TTC bus so I thought it would be fun to continue over here.

linda Thinking of you and praying you still get a positive result.

I did have chips and now feel a bit sick. Hey ho, back to my enormous bunch of grapes Wink

SazzyM · 15/02/2011 16:21

Oh Linda - i really hope everything goes ok.

It's so fabulous coming on here in the midst of revoltingly busy days and reading everyone elses stuff...it's so reassuring to hear everyone else is going through the same!

Bought 2 non underwired bras yesterday....the HORROR. I can't believe how ugly some of them are. It took me and a very patient marks and spencers lady a long long time to find some that didn't make my boobs conical or just feel immensly nipply!

I have my MW appt now (but not scan) early next month on my boyf's birthday! Hopefully a good sign.

I have also decided that if I carry on feeling grim I'm going to tell my boss. I really don't want to tell anyone at work so soon but I just think I'm putting too much pressure on myself trying to operate at premium strength and being normal

jagjac · 15/02/2011 16:38

Alex1984 · 15/02/2011 16:57

Hello,

Hi Fluffydonkey, I too am having a particularly vomitie day today, not really tolerated anything at all. And has the most disgusting taste in my mouth.

It is tough isnt it?

Jagjac, I have had to tell my boss as I work lots of nights and was voiting all night...they were very supportive!

Linda, Keeping my fingers crossed.

xxx

Engelsmeisje · 15/02/2011 17:06

Linda have my fingers and toes crossed for you.

I can totally identify with lack of patience. All my students are wondering what happened to their easy-going, smiley teacher because I've turned into the bitch from hell. Maybe I'll scare them into pulling their fingers out, staying on task and getting their homework in on time - every cloud...

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 15/02/2011 17:18

Linda, everything crossed for you xx

Hope everyone is ok. I have my meds, doctor was great and I'm on three tablets a day and even an hour after the first I was feeling better :)

Janzen · 15/02/2011 18:08

Linda, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you.

I had my first scan today. I had IVF so I know my date of conception, and today's scan was exactly 7 weeks since then.

The scan shows that I am 7 weeks and 3 days. My husband and I are both quite tall, so maybe it's already had a growth spurt Smile.

It was amazing to see the heartbeat. My new EDD is October 4.

Iwish · 15/02/2011 18:16

Hi all.

Just wanted to pop on to give a quick wave and say Linda I have my fingers and toes crossed for you honey xx

monkeybubbles · 15/02/2011 18:28

just got back from the doc, got antibiotics for my sinus and throat infection.

she also recommended these anti nausea wrist bands for the morning sickness. put them on now and they do seem to be working already. the only problem is that they're not pretty and you have to wear them on both wrists, what will i tell people at work?

eagerbeagle · 15/02/2011 19:56

Linda - I hope everything is ok, sending hugs.

happymummytobe I know what you mean about the food smells. My super spidey preggo lady sense of smell has kicked in. someone was cooked smoked fish at work (why????) and I had to leave the kitchen as it was totally overwhelming.

I had to tell my boss when I was 7 weeks with DS as I was puking all the time and missed a few random days off work when I literally couldn't move away from the bathroom. I didn't want them to think I was just slacking. I am hoping I can hold out longer this time but I am not very optimistic.

My work is really good with mat leave and that sort of thing so thankfully that's not a worry but I know its not like that everywhere.

apples82 · 16/02/2011 09:34

Linda, hoping everything is well, let us know when you do, sending out crossed fingers Smile

knittymum · 16/02/2011 09:43

Hi, I'd like to hop on the bus please! I've had a couple of tests with very faint second lines, but today I had a much stronger one, so i'm letting myself get a tiny bit excited! This will be DC#3, due around 26/10 and I'll be 32 when he/she arrives. Oh, and I think I'm roughly 4w+1.

Good luck to those of you who are worrying; we all need to just get past that first few weeks now.

snowpeas · 16/02/2011 09:44

Linda Hope everything is ok, I have everything crossed for you.

I have been feeling really sick since Monday but haven't actually been sick, had to admit defeat yesterday and spent most of the day lying on the sofa and munching my way through Ginger crinkle biscuits. Not quite so bad today but now have to catch up on work from yesterday which I could really do without.

I have my first Midwife appointment this afternoon too, I'm looking forward to going but hoping it's not the same Midwife that was there when I had DS2, didn't really get on with her as she always seemed to be in a rush to get you in and out a.s.a.p

rebelwithoutababy · 16/02/2011 09:47

monkeybubbles I heard really good things about the bands for nausea too,but am worried about the same thing! Might pretend it's a psychological aid for stopping drinking/losing weight or something...although the size of my waistband might suggest they are not very good for the latter! Gaaaahhh so queasy today!!

apples82 · 16/02/2011 09:57

Can I ask, what does e.g. 4w+1 mean?

I hear on One Born Every Minute that she is x + x, what do the numbers and the plus mean?

knittymum · 16/02/2011 10:14

It's the number of weeks and days pregnant you are. So I'm 4 weeks and a day, which is 4w+1. Smile

apples82 · 16/02/2011 10:21

Ah, that explains everything Blush

Thanks!

FluffyDonkey · 16/02/2011 10:46

Aha!

I may have found the "solution" for breakfast...

Get up, be very sick (bile cos nothing in stomach - sorry if TMI!), slowly, very slowly eat a slice of brown bread with jam. Get ready for work very slowly - no rushing about.

Go into work. Retch for a few minutes. Sit at desk and very slowly eat a second slice of bread and jam.

It's worked for me for 2 days now. I'm still retching a lot at work but am not so sick so I'm getting some nutrition.

In the mornings I must wait until I've been sick before eating, otherwise I just throw up everything up.

apples82 · 16/02/2011 10:48

Poor you FluffyDonkey, I hope you start to feel better.

I've been nauseous in the mornings, but so far not being sick. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

mpops · 16/02/2011 11:23

Aw, I really feel for those of you who are suffering from so much nausea and are being sick. It must be really hard to cope at work! Had my first sniff of that yesterday and I've no idea how I made it through the day. Just nausea, but it was enough to make me wish I was dead. Such a hard day. Feeling a bit better today but I've gone off any food with any flavour/smell. It's plain pasta and rice for me for a while. I don't know how you're supposed to get your nutrients in when you're feeling like this...

Btw, for anyone suffering from sore, ever-expanding boobs, I can recommend those M&S crop tops www.marksandspencer.com/2-Pack-Non-Wired-Crop-Top/dp/B0046M8LDQ?_encoding=UTF8&mnSBrand=core&numItemsFound=1&ref=sr_11_1&pos= - not terribly sexy but cheap, expanding, and very very comfy. I even wear one in bed because it keeps me from hurting.

rebelwithoutababy · 16/02/2011 11:42

OMG mpops thank you from the bottom of my heart: am going to go and get lots!!

apples82 · 16/02/2011 11:46

mpops I had this very convo with DH that my boobs are really starting to ache, but don't know if I should go out and buy non u/w bras yet as I know my boobs are likely to be bigger.

Your crop top seems like a very nice solution!

apples82 · 16/02/2011 11:48

I've just read the description for those crop tops, and it says the XL is for 16/18 but only up to 38C.

I'm 38E/F already (non preggers size) so what the heck do I get??? Confused

dribbleface · 16/02/2011 11:48

Linda - thinking of you today

Never eat love hearts if you have morning sickness - fizzy sick is not nice!!! How my work colleagues haven't guessed with my heaving in the bathroom is beyond me. The office, loo and staff room are all upstairs in a converetd bungalow so paper thin walls!

mpops · 16/02/2011 11:57

apples, that's my normal size too (38E) and the x-large is a perfect fit with room to grow, I reckon!
