Will anyone join a new baby bus with me?

I just got a BFP this morning so its very early days for me, but I'm so excited I thought what the hell, I'll head straight for the pregnancy thread anyway Grin

If all goes according to plan this will be DC2 and due on 2nd October. Ive enjoyed being on the October TTC bus so I thought it would be fun to continue over here.

Thanks Ladies - quite varied then - just cant beleive I won't have any appt until that scan - which yes will be about the 12 weeks so right in that sense. Time is going so slowly though.....

kateepie2 · 23/02/2011 14:08

Tell me about it! I just want this 12 weeks to be over....

monkeychambers · 23/02/2011 14:29

Every day goes on forever and the weeks are so so slow. Am driving myself slightly insane with it also.

Bumpsadaisie · 23/02/2011 14:43

I'm seeing MW for the first time on Friday when I will be 6+4. Which sounds good and prompt though I do live out in the sticks where they are probably just sat about waiting for us to come in! I think I'm just lucky with timing as she only comes into the surgery every 2nd Friday.

I guess she will then book the scan. Do you need to have had your dating scan before you can have the nuchal? We have to organise the latter privately up here and think we have to trek down to Manchester for it.

rebelwithoutababy · 23/02/2011 14:51

Hi all, have been away from this thread for a few days as I have been feeling so tired and nauseous and a bit down. I used up some annual leave to have a week off, and have spent most of it sleeping and eating to stem the nausea. Feel guilty for being a bit down about feeling crap, when I really really want to be pg, and also really worried about putting on loads of weight, as eating carbs by the bucket-load seems to be the only way I can stem the tidal waves of nausea. So good to hear so many others feeling similar...
BTW, those of you wondering about getting early scans, a friend told me about Babybond (www.babybond.com)who do early pg scans for about £90...am thinking about it as seeing a heartbeat might cheer me up a bit....

Rebel

It's horrid isn't it - I was really sick and down with DD until about 14 weeks. You feel really depressed and fed up with the whole thing.

Try to remember that its good that you feel miserable and like c**p - means the hormones are working overtime.

It does get better, promise - when you have that 12 week scan, then the sickness usually eases off as you get into the second trimester, you have more energy. Then the 16 week tests, then you can listen for the heartbeart, then the 20 week scan. It all speeds up.

Then you start feeling kicks around then with your first, you get a nice big bump, the weather will be getting good and light, and it will the home straight to October!

That's what I'm telling myself anyway ...

Bumpsadaisie · 23/02/2011 15:03

PS don't worry about the eating either - just do what needs doing. I'm eating a half meal every hour and trying to have a lunchtime nap which makes me feel much better. Also going to bed at 9pm!

hotnspicyonions · 23/02/2011 15:14

Afternoon all Think we may have to have a bendy double decker soon! Loving all these posts, taken me quite some hours to read through all posts since my last. Phew! DS is not happy with me ignoring him (especially as he was sick last night. DP had to deal with him coz the smell just made me want to hurl!)
Great to see there are lots of us with similar symptoms, it's great knowing you are not alone with eating $hit, sleeping all the time and getting uncontrolable Angry with all un sundry (mostly nearest & dearest).
Added my stats onto list, hope that was ok.
Taking DS to flix tonight to make up for neglecting him, thank goodness this is just a weeks holiday!
Of to put on kettle, anyone fancy a Brew?

CarolineOctober · 23/02/2011 15:28

Hi girls,
I'd like to join the October baby bus! Just found out this week - nearly 6 weeks.
So happy and also freaked out! (its my first
and I'm in my mid-thirties).Anyone else feel like their on an emotional rollercoaster?!

Bumpsadaisie · 23/02/2011 15:35

Hello Caroline - congrats! Rollercoaster sounds about right! This part is the worst I think (barring weeks 38 plus and the actual birth!)

I have updated the stats list here - if anyone hasn't added themselves yet feel free to add themselves and create a new post with the updated list.

Just had about 10 pints of icecream - nausea at bay for a while now!

AliTheMinx · 23/02/2011 15:35

Hi CarolineOctober

Congratulations! I'm 33 and found out this week. By my dates, I think I'm about 5 weeks 3 days, so still very early. If that's right, my due date is 23 October.

How are you feeling?

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

mpops · 23/02/2011 15:40

I'm 36 and this is my first as well. Welcome to the new ones!

Does anyone else feel absolutely panicky and dead worried when the symptoms seem to subside? I haven't got any sickness (just a bit of nausea) but if my boobs are not killing me, I get really really anxious. How am I going to make it through a whole month until the 1st scan? Sad

hotnspicyonions · 23/02/2011 15:41

Congrats Caroline is this your first PG? If so welcome to the rest of your life which will now be renamed The Emotional Roller Coaster That Is My Life! Bring on the tiredness/irrational feelings/rage/cravings for weird stuff/bouts of happiness/endless crying and all the other emotions that go with being updiffed!

rebelwithoutababy · 23/02/2011 15:56

Thanks Bumps that's really good to know. Feel a bit better already now I'm back on here: why did I ever go away?! Congrats to the newbies...enjoy the crazy!
Wink

apples82 · 23/02/2011 16:00

All I have done today at work is YAWN!!!! Blush

kateepie2 · 23/02/2011 16:07

I was like that earlier this week apples getting up at 6 is no joke atm, especially as blood sugar/pressure seems to take a dive first thing. DP brought me a glass of orange juice in bed this morning which helped a bit. And lentil, tomato and red pepper soup seems to give me some energy for a few hours when I've had it at lunchtime. Bearing quite a lot of resemblance to a panda recently tho... Hmm

AliTheMinx · 23/02/2011 16:18

I'm just the same - constantly poking my boobs to make sure they still hurt (they do - just poked them again!), and yes - literally yawning ALL THE TIME! It's sheer exhaustion like never before....

I am so tired, but seem to wake up in the night (unheard of for me).Zzzzz.......

Definitely an emotional rollercoaster.
Days feel like months... the countdown to the scan date is unbearable.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

annapops · 23/02/2011 16:19

I'm in my mid 30's too with my first and also totally paranoid, feels bizarre to want to be feeling sick. When it does kick in all I want to feel is better :)

Definitely on a rollercoaster though, having been told I couldn't have kids my DH and I got used to the idea and focused on the positives of life as just us. The fact this is going to change is both fantastic, miraculous and frightening. But I guess that would be the same no matter what.

AliTheMinx · 23/02/2011 16:22

annapops What lovely news! So thrilled for you! xxxxxx

Bumpsadaisie · 23/02/2011 16:27

How can now be salivating at the thought of eating five large crackers with serrano ham and cottage cheese, when only at 1pm I had a huge bowl of spag boll and at 3pm I had two bowls of icecream?

Not to mention about 10 pints of apple juice and sparkly water.

BTW really recommended the Spatone iron supplements for the c**p feelings. If I don't take mine I am much worse. They are v gentle on the tum - just tip the water into a glass of orange juice once a day. I discovered them in the 2nd trimester with DD, wish I had had them earlier then.

Bumpsadaisie · 23/02/2011 16:29

Mpops

Know what you mean - if I prod a boob and it doesn't ache I get worried! If however I feel like death I just feel miserable. Can't win.

Annapops what lovely news - welcome!

OptomisticBiscuit · 23/02/2011 16:36

Another one feeling sick, tired and low here. I'm 7+3 and like Tamashii my DH is starting to get fed up of me being ill all the time, and it's only been a week and a bit! TBH he has been great so far, doing all the housework, cooking and shopping and walking the dog (nothing I don't normally do on top of my ft job, mind) but the novelty is wearing thin fast. He is also moaning about the dissapearence of sex (ugh - I feel too ill for that!). It's taking all I've got to make it through each day of work, thinking about the months ahead stretching out feeling like this is so depressing.

Bumpsadaisie · 23/02/2011 16:41
