Will anyone join a new baby bus with me?

I just got a BFP this morning so its very early days for me, but I'm so excited I thought what the hell, I'll head straight for the pregnancy thread anyway Grin

If all goes according to plan this will be DC2 and due on 2nd October. Ive enjoyed being on the October TTC bus so I thought it would be fun to continue over here.

Dear all, May I join? I was on the July thread but had to sign off as I miscarried. I have 3 already but they are a bit older, B 12 B 10 and girl 9 and this is our romantic afterthought or at least another go. I am fighting the embarrassment of actually wanting another baby when we are so blessed with what we have. All my friends would rather die than have another in their 40's they can't believe that I would try again! - told husband who is skiing with the kids- and was very relieved that he is genuinely delighted.

To the others- please make sure you get booked with the hospital asap- whatever happens as they have to make arrangements for scans and so on- they also have to have over 90% booked by 12+weeks, its generally safer. There will be a process so that if you miscarry the hospital take care of everything else. You also will receive support if stuff does happen.

Penelope1980 · 15/02/2011 05:12

Linda best of luck!

cupofteaplease I had bad cramps early on too so no need to worry - am 7 weeks now and they are still there sometimes but midwife says is nothing to worry about.

mpops I was quite stressed early on, but feel fine now. I've known I was pregnant for 4 weeks now, and have found that over the last week or so I have relaxed a lot about it and almost settled into pregnancy.

happymummy1975 · 15/02/2011 09:39

Hi to everyone,
Please can I join to? Im due number 4 on the 11/10/11, Congratulations to all

hi all,
feeling really ill today, think i might have a sinus infection / throat infection. really worried that i might need antibiotics, which i was hoping to avoid.

SJAbaby1 i can sympathise with worries about telling work. i am also really worried that my boss will just react without really thinking about what's legal or not. i work for a small company and no one has ever gone on maternity leave before so i have nothing to go by. i'm hoping to be able to wait until after my frist MW appt so that i can be armed with information for my boss so that she can't argue.

truthisinthewine · 15/02/2011 09:50

Hope everyone is doing well today. I have no symptoms either. I do have a very heavy full feeling low down but that's it. I am bursting out of my jeans already and have to hold the top button together with a hair band. I am a size 8 though and with 2 previous babies my body probably just given up trying to have tight tummy muscles.

Not too worried about lack of symptoms as was the same with my other two children.

I am however totally paranoid that i'll go to my first scan and there will be no sign of ever being pregnant and they'll think Im a complete loon or the baby will have died weeks ago. Even though the chances of all being fine are higher than things going wrong I find it totally impossible not to convince myself otherwise.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 15/02/2011 09:53

Hello everyone sorry have been away for a while I have been really ill. I have hyperemesis and have an emergency appointment at the GP this morning. I feel terrible but hopefully there are some meds I can have that will improve things.

Crawling · 15/02/2011 09:55

Hi all Grin hope everyone is good, my morning sickness has gotton alot worse but as I am 6-7 weeks it wont be long now.

Crawling · 15/02/2011 09:57

oh no Conconuts I had HG on DS it is hard when you have that, I hope the meds improve things for you.

Maladjusted · 15/02/2011 10:23

Now starting to panic as started to bleed this morning not mega heavy but very red. Not sure what to do I have called the early maternity unit for advice but there was no one to speak to.

Can anyone help! I am 5 weeks.

lovemysleep · 15/02/2011 10:31

Maladjusted call your local hospitals Early pregancy unit asap - they should be able to get you booked in for a scan. Just keep trying if they are not answering. If they don't pick up soon, maybe even call the main switchboard and find out if they can tell you why no-one is picking up.

Good luck x

Maladjusted · 15/02/2011 10:42

Thanks lovemysleep I have just called again and they have asked me to go to my GP so just made an appt.

apples82 · 15/02/2011 11:09

Morning all,

I'm now into my 6th week, and I am so nauseous in the morning. Tends to last til about 10am, so I sit quietly at my desk looking green Smile

Hope everyone else is doing ok and the sickness isn't too bad.

mpops · 15/02/2011 11:22

Good luck Maladjusted. Hope it's only a false alarm. x

I've hardly slept all night, felt so uncomfortable. And then got quite nauseous as I was coming into work this morning. Haven't really been nauseous at all up until now but the thought of eating anything right now is making me feel murderous.

kateepie2 · 15/02/2011 11:28

Morning ladies!

Good luck maladjusted x

I had my docs appointment this morning, my blood pressure was up, and he took it three times... asked me what was making me anxious and I just burst into tears Blush

Told him it was fear of miscarriage, and he said that though it is relatively common, for the number of pregnancies out there its actually uncommon... which reassured me somewhat. I have my MW appointment in 3 weeks, and will have my BP taken again then.

And I thought I had stopped stressing!

Crawling · 15/02/2011 12:41

I just though I would say regarding morning sickness I find things much easier if I keep a window slightly open (put heating on) and take my vitamins before bed.

Maladjusted · 15/02/2011 12:48

Just got back from the Doctor who said just sit tight for a few days and see what progresses. As the bleeding is not heavy and I have no cramps he advises patience.

Thanks for all the support this website is ace!

happymummytobe · 15/02/2011 13:34

Really feeling for everyone who is stressed, sick or having a worrying time xxx

I'm feeling ok today - been trying to eat lots of fruit but actually I really fancy chips!

rebelwithoutababy · 15/02/2011 13:37

Afternoon all: god, it is such a relief to hear all your words about being stressed and worried and feeling like a nutcase: I thought it was just me! I had a bit of nausea the first week after I got my BFP, but then it settled and I thought I mustn't be pregnant any more: did another test and it was still positive, and now my boobs are sooooooo sore I wish I hadn't moaned about having no preg symptoms! Maladjusted: hope everything's okay with you: keeping fingers and toes crossed, but sure all will be fine - kateepie2: your GP is right that mc is relatively uncommon, (I am medical), but stil feel worried myself, so totally get where you're coming from.

happymummytobe · 15/02/2011 13:38

Oh, and am definitely noticing the stress/lack of patience too. Particularly can't cope with anyone eating smelly food or cracking gum near me!

rebelwithoutababy · 15/02/2011 13:41

Me too: poor DH came home last night to mental person! No idea why...and seriously am I going to be huuuuuge by October??!! Please tell me my expanding waistline is just bloating: I am only 5/6 weeks!!Confused

monkeychambers · 15/02/2011 14:21

Hi all - not been on for a while. Can sympathise with the really sore boobs and the stress / no patience (probably worse as I can't even manage to string a sentence together myself this last week) Feeling sick all afternoon and evening at moment. And can't do up any of my trousers or jeans! nothing fits at all, am only 6 weeks. EEEk going to be a whale like last time I think

Maladjusted - good luck. Thinking of you.

Linda40 · 15/02/2011 14:26

Good afternoon everyone.

Well, Im still bleeding Sad I rang the EPU this morning just to check that they didnt ring me yesterday because they'd forgotten to. The nurse said that the blood test showed a definate positive! Im having the next test tomorrow and the blood count has to double. If its less than yesterdays count then Im miscarrying. If its doubled then its an ongoing pregnancy.

I will get my results after 3pm tomorrow so dont all uncross your fingers yet Smile

maladusted I know exactly how you feel, if you're not happy about waiting around like your doc says just go to your EPU. At least they can give you some answers and good support. I hope everything is ok.

sunface How you feeling hun, I hope that you're a lot better.

coconuts hope you get well to soon

kateepie try and relax and take some time out for yourself..keep positive Smile

happymumtobe If you want chips, you have 'em!!! Grin You deserve them!

The next 24 hours are going to be the longest of my life! I will keep you all posted.

Thanks again for all your support its been very much appreciated ((hugs))

Maladjusted · 15/02/2011 14:31

Lots of love and luck to you Linda40 I really hope it all turns out great for you

rebelwithoutababy · 15/02/2011 14:34

all ten digits crossed for you Linda40

FluffyDonkey · 15/02/2011 14:57

Sickness is awful today. Previously it's been morning until 3pm then 7pm onwards. It's currently 4pm and I'm still Envy

Unlike other days I've stopped craving junk food. All food makes me want to puke.
