Will anyone join a new baby bus with me?

I just got a BFP this morning so its very early days for me, but I'm so excited I thought what the hell, I'll head straight for the pregnancy thread anyway Grin

If all goes according to plan this will be DC2 and due on 2nd October. Ive enjoyed being on the October TTC bus so I thought it would be fun to continue over here.

Hi everyone,

So sorry for the losses, wishing you all the best.

Welcome to all the newbies, it's a popular bus. So nice to have lots of us experiencing the same things.

I still have no symptoms whatsoever. Only had period like cramping which seems to have been most days since just after ovulation. No bleeding though. Should I do another test or am I just getting away lightly so far?

Have my booking in appt on the 20th and then the 1st scan on the 18th Mar. The receptionist at the hospital is giving me a due date that's different to my GP and the calculator on here. 3 days earlier. My GP went on Ov date so I think that's more accurate. Do they usually re-date you after the scan? 1st timer so I have no idea!

BuffyFairy · 10/02/2011 14:41

starsandplanets11 I had the triple jab at 5 weeks and was fine after. I did try to get it beofre xmas but they had run out and then I caught a really bad dose of flu! I have asthma so thought it's best to get the protection as well as the pregnancy side of things.

happymummytobe · 10/02/2011 14:57

Hello everyone!
I've now seen my doctor who was fabulous and has given me the low down on which hospitals I can choose from. She has also recommended a private clinic where I can have an early scan to reassure me (from 7 weeks). It's £100 which seems worth it for the peace of mind. What do other people think?
I'm feeling so emotional but very happy indeed with my new "support bra" from M&S which is the most comfortable thing I have EVER owned. The maternity bras were less supportive and my boobs are so sore at the moment that I wanted maximum comfort!
Hope you're all doing well. Anyone got any tips on how to choose between hospitals? I have 5 weeks to make a decision...

SazzyM · 10/02/2011 14:58

Ugh I so want to be at home! Still got grotty throat and headachey - have literally never allowed a headache to go on this long without throwing medication at it!

I called the hospital MW people and they hadn't even entered my referal onto the system (sent by my GP last tues!)! The guy promised they would do it straight away - but then that's still 7-10 days before they send you a letter with dates for appts. So rubbish - it's my first time and not long after major fibroid surgery and I want some MW support.

Hurumph - in a mood today. About to have to tell someone I can't come to their birthday drinks tomorrow and I'm not sure the sore throat exceuse is going to let me off the hook! Feeling like a bad friend.

EdwardorEricCantdecide · 10/02/2011 15:34

hi all

good to read all the stories/sorry for losses, here's hoping for long bus ride together all the way to october Grin
i have been feeling sick today but not sure if its all in my head IYSWIM.
am dying to tell someone can't hold my own water in every sense of the word. so far only told DH and 1 friend at work.

sunface · 10/02/2011 16:19

buffyfairy, i think dating from your OV date is a much more accurate way to do it, my DR dated from my last AF :( so it makes me seem further along than i actually am., also amazing that you've got your scan date!!! how exciting!!! needless to say i'm slightly jealous too :)

Hurrah!!! congrats Vegasmum and welcome!!!! x

monkeybubbles · 10/02/2011 17:36

just got back from the doctor, had a blood test to see if i'm immune to slapped cheek / fifth disease.

as a nursery teacher i never realised before how many infectious diseases can affect pregnant women.

fingers crossed that i'm immune and this outbreak won't affect me.

snowpeas · 10/02/2011 17:53

Great news vegasmum Smile

mpops · 10/02/2011 18:36

Aw, lovely news vegasmum. I'm tempted to have a pg test every day but I'm trying to control myself or I'll go crazy.

I went to see my GP today and it was really underwhelming. Filled in a form for the hospital/MW and sent me on my way. Didn't give me any advice, or told me anything about getting the flu jab, or, y'know, something. I don't know what I expected but I could have filled that form myself... Hardly worth the time off work. You'd think they'd at least tell you what to look out for, eh. Anyway, he reckons I'm 6 weeks in but I think I'm 5. So the due date of 5 Oct, lovely as it sounds, is likely to be later.

Linda40 · 10/02/2011 19:31

Welcome to todays new mums to be :) Its getting packed in here!

Finally vegasmum sooooo pleased for you. At least you can chillax now! :)

snowpeas I hope that your DS1 takes the news well bless him. Get ready for the 20 questions, lol. Have a great time in Disneyland.

To all those who are really under the weather - get well soon :(

I went to the docs today, my iron count is low so Im on iron tablets for the whole duration... pooing like a rabbit is not something that Im looking forward to.

smileymum2b · 10/02/2011 21:11

wow so many people on here now! thanks so much FluffyDonkey and ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts for your kind words of wisdom.

Things are getting a lot better, DH got a job offer this week which has really helped with some of the anxiety and he's seeing a therapist for depression which is helping too.

Starting to feel really excited now! It feels like everything has suddenly come together over the last few days. FInding it very hard not to tell everyone I meet!

mpops · 10/02/2011 21:32

That's great news, smileymum2b. All the best to you! It's really hard not to tell everyone, isn't it?

happymummytobe · 10/02/2011 22:18

Really pleased for you smileymum :)
Have felt overwhelming tired all day and am longing for bed.
I have a really stupid question that I'm hoping someone can answer...
I'm 4 weeks and 3 days pregnant. So does that mean I'm in my 5th week? Gosh, now I've typed it that DOES look stupid, but never mind. I'll be v grateful if anyone can enlighten me!

smileymum2b · 10/02/2011 22:42

Hi happymumtobe thanks for the support! I think it makes you 6 weeks? Or maybe not it's very confusing. This might help:

Linda40 · 10/02/2011 22:55

Chin up smileymum Im hoping everything gets better for you day by day. Im sure that makes you in your 5th week. You count your weeks from the first day of your last period. x

EdwardorEricCantdecide · 10/02/2011 23:13

Well did CB digital said I'm 1-2wks DH can't deny it now Grin

mpops · 11/02/2011 08:38

Woohoo! Congratulations, EdwardorEricCantdecide.

My DP has already started asking what websites to read and stuff. It's all very strange!

FluffyDonkey · 11/02/2011 08:57

Everyone is nice and positive today!

Can I just say - I feel really sick!!! Envy

Am at work and can't moan to anyone about feeling sick. Then I thought of you guys Grin

Other than that not much news, am as tired as ever (fell asleep in front of the TV last night at 9pm, DH got home at 10pm and I barely managed to keep my eyes open to talk to him!)

5.5 weeks until first scan. 2 weeks until I have my registration confirmation visit at the hospital.

Crawling · 11/02/2011 10:06

Woohoo I have a scan for Monday I hope everything is okay Smile. Can I ask how far are thoose who are due first week of October? because I got a positive result about the same time so wondering how far I am and what I will see.

iloveblue · 11/02/2011 10:17

Crawling I'm due 5th October and I'm about 6.5 weeks (7 weeks on Tuesday). Hope your scan goes well. Smile

lovemysleep · 11/02/2011 10:18

Hello ladies....

smiley glad things are looking up - it's hard not to tell people though, isn't it?

Exciting news about your scan on mon crawling - fingers crossed for you. Mine's a week today (gulp), will be 6+3 by my calculations then.

Woke up at bloody 3.20am today - had to get up, have a drink and some toast, read for a bit, then get back to sleep. Am knackered now!
I went to Pilates last night - put my sports bra on, and I'm already starting to burst out of it! My boobs go bonkers when I'm pg - but I'm only 5+3, so even I'm a bit shocked by how quickly they are growing. They are also seriously sore now too.

Had to succumb to a McDonalds and a doughnut yesterday....maybe that's why the boobs are growing Grin

emmazed · 11/02/2011 10:20

hey ladies

i am anther one in London with the cold lurgy - i can tell i will be really ill this weekend. it is funny how many of us have it.

aside from that i feel quite good, i have very slight nausea, but nothing much. 6 weeks 3 days today - wohoo!!

Crawling · 11/02/2011 10:22

Thanks both so IloveBlue I should be at least 6-7 weeks, unless the test showed up early (which has never happened before so I doubt it would have this time). Hopefully I will see a heartbeat then.
