Will anyone join a new baby bus with me?

I just got a BFP this morning so its very early days for me, but I'm so excited I thought what the hell, I'll head straight for the pregnancy thread anyway Grin

If all goes according to plan this will be DC2 and due on 2nd October. Ive enjoyed being on the October TTC bus so I thought it would be fun to continue over here.

Right off to get some chips for lunch... trying to provoke nausea.. me? no, never!

welcome to new bfpers! 12 weeks cannot come fast enough....!

Tamashii · 09/02/2011 12:12

Hi to even more BFPs!! Congratulations.

Was saying to DH last night that I was worried I don't really feel PG yet and was really struggling any time he mentions it cos I am so worried about getting too excited just in case. I think having had 2 early MCs before has really put a dampener on things.

Anyway, woke up this morning and was sooooo sick. Everything stinks and I am so so soooooooooo tired. I am being a complete bitch today as well with zero patience level at all which is a shame for DS as I can't seem to stop snapping :( DS has refused a nap today and I even tried rocking him to sleep since I am sooooooooo tired I need to lie down too! I don't know how you are all coping at work.

dribbleface · 09/02/2011 12:19

Tamashii - i did that with DS yesterday, i NEEDED him to nap (but we paid for it last night!). He is just growing out of his sleeps, which is really bad timing!

Kateepie2 - yummmmmm chips, might have to drag myself out of bed and cook some!

monkeychambers · 09/02/2011 12:41

All the mentioning of fast food - I must have a mcdonalds at lunchtime now. Have been fancying one for a week but can hold off no longer. (Even though I know I will regret it)

Tamashii · 09/02/2011 12:43

Oh NOOOOOOOOO dribbleface you've confirmed my fears... DS must be trying to give up his daytime naps. Totally bad timing! Oh help me! I am literally falling asleep standing up. I am glad to have some "real" symptoms though.

I agree with you KateePie2 Roll on 12 weeks!

dribbleface · 09/02/2011 12:46

How old is your DS Tamashii? The other day he didn't sleep and we watched cebeeies for ages a while and i dozed off with him on my lap, woke up 1/2 hour later, he said mummy you have been snoring! Blush. DS is 2.7years.

sunface · 09/02/2011 13:19

Welcome to the newbies!!!

ooo i'm caving macdonalds too whats that about?? Also, has anyone elses sense of smell become really acute?!! i can smell just about everything whereas before my sense of smell was just rubbish.

Tamashii · 09/02/2011 13:28

dribbleface DS will be 3 next month. I know a few other 3 yr olds who still have a nap but most people I know in RL say the naps stopped when theirs were 2 so I guess I have to face facts now! Awwww - how sweet he let you snore away :) my LO would have been shouting "WAKE UP!" in my face. What would we do without CBeebies sometimes Blush

Yes sunface I can smell everything just now... Especially what's in the bloody bin! I have just been putting all the rubbish straight out into the black outside bin otherwise I will just be sick. DH's aftershave is really turning my stomach just now too which is annoying since I usually really like it. It's good to finally feel a bit PG though.

Iwish · 09/02/2011 13:34

Hi All

Hope you are all ok?

Wondering if i can join? got my BFP 2 weeks ago and have today been for my first appt with the midwife who has put me at 5+3 with due date of 7th Ocober Grin.

Feeling quite sick the past few days (Luckily havnt actually been sick), have sore boobs and am quite tired.

I recognise a few of you from the October bus and the charters thread

bigbadmom · 09/02/2011 13:55

Hello!

Could I join in too please?! Thanks Arabella for setting this up! I just found out (a week ago) that I am (acc to the clearblue digital tester kit) 5 weeks preggers (LMP was on Christmas Day). So I am due 3rd Oct or around there, but haven't yet gone to Doctor. Thrilled!!! But a little anxious that I have already pickled the poor thing, we were drinking way too much before we knew Wine.

This will be a little brother / sister (hoping it survives the 40 weeks!) to my DD who is 4 and my DS who is 3 in May. So there will be a much bigger gap than there is between my two existing kiddies.

Was happy but shocked as weren't 'trying' at all - just had coil taken out a few months ago as was fed up with the pain it was giving me. Since then tried to be careful but one slip up and - voomph! - guess that's what they say about relaxing and not trying too hard (apologies if this sounds boastful esp for those having a f-ing nightmare trying to conceive, I know some people struggle so hard and remarks like the above can grate a lot).

Would love to be kept in the loop - Memsahib my cousin has just had one at 43 and my other cousin had one at 43 and one at 45, all very healthy and happy, I am the freak case in our family as was 27 when I had my DD! I think it helps to be older and wiser - I find my friends who have waited longer make much more committed and less assuming parents, unlike the young ones who are sometimes still trying to make 'their' way in the world at the same time as raising a child...
Anyway - musn't babble - this is me (real name Alice, I don't know why I picked such a stupid MN nickname!)

Muffins would love to hear some of that NHS chat you hint at darkly! Wink

SazzyM · 09/02/2011 14:18

Hi all,
just caught up after a few days away - some sadness (so so sorry olismum), and lots of gross symptoms!

Am feeling distinctly sorry for myself today - work has got absurd, I was here till after 8pm last night and doesn't look like I'll ever escape today. Have a horrible deadline for next week which is really stressing me out. Am trying to breathe through it and not allow nasty stress-waves to affect the little bean...not sure that's working.

Also - horrendous sore throat. I know others have got the lurgi - I think it's going around (anyone else London-based?), but it seems weird that so many of us 6 weekers seem to have a sore throat!

I'm going to nag MW now, have waited a week to hear from them and am officially over the wait. Want to know the date of my appt.

olismum23 · 09/02/2011 15:00

Just to say i had a scan to confirm and i have m/c hopefully i will be back on a later bus however :(

lovemysleep · 09/02/2011 15:22

So sorry to hear that olismum - been through it myself, so know how horrible it is. Take care of yourself xx

FluffyDonkey · 09/02/2011 15:53

Lots of new BFP!! Grin Here's hoping they all stick and the class of October 2011 arrive kicking and screaming! (and then kindly sleep through nights straight away and never tantrum or scream or cry)

FluffyDonkey · 09/02/2011 15:54

PS now have to eat hourly otherwise I'm sick (well, dry retching but still unpleasant)

Am eating loads of crap : crisps, biscuits etc. Blush Keep telling myself to eat the banana thats sititng next to me but never quite manage it...

apples82 · 09/02/2011 17:09

Hello all,

Can I join too??? I just got a BFP!!!!! Wow. I didn't think that would happen.

According to online due date calculators i'm due on October 17th.

Blimey!Grin

When do I tell my doctor?

mpops · 09/02/2011 17:45

Hi all.

Just thought I'd say hello. I did a home test (well, three!) on Sunday and found out I was pregnant. It'll be our first, I'm 37, and over the moon as well as dead scared. There is an awful lot of mc history in my family (my mum had five mc), so I'm approaching this very cautiously. I've no morning sickness but feel very bloated and sore. Seeing my GP tomorrow to do a proper test and hopefully it'll all go well. Can't tell you how nervous I am. It's good to read your stories and banter on here - makes me feel less crazy. To all who have lost their beans recently, my heart goes out to you. xx

Snakeears · 09/02/2011 17:50

Bonjour everyone,

hope you are all well - really sorry to hear about the sad news as well and I am thinking of you at the moment.

I just wanted to ask - has anyone else been regularly waking up early in the morning - I keep waking up at 5am and driving myself crazy - not normally a prob I have! Tried going to bed later and it's made no difference - rubbish!

X

lovemylittlebean · 09/02/2011 18:37

Hello and congrats to all the new BFPs!! Great news!

I'm sooo jealous Envy of all of you who are craving takeaway and fast food! Even just the thought of you all tucking in makes my stomach turn! For the past 4 days the most I've been able to stomach at any one time is a bread roll or fruit - poor DH cooks lovely dinners (while I'm flat out on the sofa!) and then has to eat it in another room coz I just can't take the smell, let alone taste it!! Blush

Tonight a friend I haven't seen in ages is coming over for dinner, and the thought of having to prepare food feels as daunting as if I'm off to climb Everest - properly having to psyc myself up... and then if at the end of that I can't eat it I'm gonna have to make up some type of gastro illness which means I can only eat crackers and a grape...Hmm

starsandplanets11 · 09/02/2011 18:48

Snakeears - I woke up at half past two the last few nights feeling the cramps. Fell asleep again, though.

apples82 - I don't know but it says on my GP's website to get in touch soon (probably so they can explain about folic acid etc.) I'd like to go tomorrow if there's an appointment.

Linda40 · 09/02/2011 19:08

Blimey all these newbies in one day!! Cant keep up. WELCOME everyone!

vegasmum Im expecting DC 3 too :)

snowpeas Have you told your DCs? Im trying to leave it for as long as is poss.

fluffydonkey October seems like a lifetime away....but doent time fly when your having fun??? lol

smileymum my DH has not mentioned the pregnancy. When I told him 10 days ago I was pregnant he just said 'fingers crossed'!! MEN!!

Tamashii with my second pregnancy I hated my hubbys aftershave, it was awful! I still hate Joop to this day and I used to love it.

With regards to the exercise issue, thankfully I havent been too tired and Im still circuit training threek though I have altered some of the exercises and steering clear of stomach crunches etc :)

Blakey1 · 09/02/2011 19:31

Hi Arabella and all ladies, can I join your bus?

I did a test on friday because I had full blown tonsilitis and knew the doc would prescribe something hardcore, so thought I should check because I sort of had a hunch... and a really faint line appeared. So since friday I've been ill but happy, hoping that I'm still going to be able to provide a nice place for a little bean to grow in - even though I feel like a zombie.
I have a 13 month old baby girl, so a second is quick but I'm up for it! :)

lovemysleep · 09/02/2011 19:34

snakeears woke at 3.50am today and couldn't get back to sleep. Found out I was pg about 10 days ago, and I was waking early about 3 days before I got BFP. Also, doing it quite regularly - thought it was the steroids that I'm on, but now realise it may be the hormones too.
Am usually a good sleeper - I'm beginning to be very thankful that I'm not working at the moment, as I don;t know how I'd cope with the lack of sleep and general tiredness!

I look sooooooo exhausted!

Iwish · 09/02/2011 19:51

Wow this bus is busy!!

snakeears I have been waking up too and having trouble getting back to sleep, and when I do start drifting off I start needing to pee! The past 2 days ive been up once or twice going to the loo and normally I can sleep through or at least wait till my alarm goes off a while later!

Tamashii · 09/02/2011 20:04

My heart really goes out to you olismum so sorry.
