Will anyone join a new baby bus with me?

I just got a BFP this morning so its very early days for me, but I'm so excited I thought what the hell, I'll head straight for the pregnancy thread anyway Grin

If all goes according to plan this will be DC2 and due on 2nd October. Ive enjoyed being on the October TTC bus so I thought it would be fun to continue over here.

So sorry Oilsmum xx

Hi Vegasmum I'm on DC3 too, I already have 2 boys who are 10 & 5, How old are your DD's? There are quite a few of us who are on #3

& Hi Knitter I totally relate to the nervousness, I got my BFP 2 weeks ago and I still can't beleive it and worry about every little niggle.

iloveblue · 08/02/2011 20:54

I'm so sorry ninuina and olismum - thinking of you xx

I've had a bit of nausea on and off but nothing major - just tiredness at the moment. It does worry me as I'm sure I was feeling sick by now with previous pregnancies. But, I'm trying to stay positive.

Hope everyone else is well.

lovemylittlebean · 08/02/2011 21:09

Jagjac That sounds similar to what I've been having. Over the weekend the hosp checked my blood and HCG levels and booked me in for a scan at the EPU today. Everything was fine, we saw bean and even saw its little heart beating!

They said not to worry, that brown CM happens with lots of women during pregnancy, and most of the time they don't know why.

But I would definitely get it checked out, even if its just to put your mind at rest. Find out where your nearest EPU is, a lot of them will let you self refer, and some even do walk-in appts.

Welcome and congrats to newbies. I was feeling less guilty over my fast food cravings after hearing others experiences, so I got my curry nd have been feeling sick and bluergh and crampy since Angry

smileymum2b · 08/02/2011 22:07

Hi all I'm new to all this and haven't posted before. Did my 5th test at the weekend so pretty confident that this is real, think due around Oct 8th.

DH is not pleased, in fact he's pretty devastated, just really scared and thinks he'll be a bad Father. He never really wanted kids and this wasn't planned. I'm delighted but feel like I'm not allowed to be. Does anyone else's DH feel this way? He thinks he's a freak, but other's must feel this way too?

iloveblue · 08/02/2011 22:16

Forgot to say - hello and congratulations to all newbies Smile

Tamashii · 09/02/2011 07:42

So sorry OlisMum :(

Tamashii · 09/02/2011 07:43

Hello and Congratulations to all the new BFPs. It's impossible not to fret over every little thing at this early stage isn't it?

Penelope1980 · 09/02/2011 07:50

Yeah, I wonder at what point - if ever - you relax into pregnacy? I am worrying a little less each day, but still fretting often

FluffyDonkey · 09/02/2011 08:14

Sorry Olismum Sad

Congrats to new BFP Grin - I find I worry less and less as time goes by. Mainly because I'm getting more and more symptoms (although no sore boobs or even swollen ones - not sure when that'll happen!). Also because I'm so knackered I have more than enough to do thinking about work and being sick than to spend time worrying!

Crawling shame about the curry. You were so looking forward to it!

I spoke to my mum and her advice is eat whatever you have to in order to function. She put on quite a lot of weight with my brother because all she ate was sugerpuffs, but she lost it quickly after the birth.

Still hiding it at work. It is hard (just been throwing up in the toilets, fortunately not one was in there) but I keep imagining having to tell everyone I miscarried and that stops me sharing! Also, I imagine telling them I'm pregnant, then having to add "only 6 weeks" and that stops me too. 6 weeks seems ages for us but for other people it's nothing. Once you get to 3 months I think it sounds more impressive!

Having said that I've decided to tell my brother this weekend. I was going to wait for 3 months but I've changed my mind. DH is telling his mum this weekend too.

How far away is October???!!!

FluffyDonkey · 09/02/2011 08:19

smileymum DH is thrilled about the pregnancy but I do know he is scared that he won't be a good father. He is also convinced, without feeling at all sorry for himself, that the baby will love me more "because I am the mother and all children love their mummy". I put this down to his mum being a single parent and him hardly seeing his own father, so obviously he loves his mum more than his dad.

I just keep telling him all the things he will do for his baby. That his baby will need him to feed him, bathe him, dress him, sing to him and that the baby will love him whatever. I also fast forward a few years to playing in the park with the baby etc.

HTH

jagjac · 09/02/2011 08:21

lovemylittlebean, thankyou so much for your reasurrance, i had a scan at the epu about a wk and a half ago and they booked me back in for the 21st to see if we can see a heart beat as it was too early, my craving started yesturday (beef hoolahoops lol) so hopefully everythings fine,

smileymum2b, please try not to worry, your dh just need time to adjust, hope it all goes ok :)

kateepie2 · 09/02/2011 09:09

DP doing my head in this morning, keeps trying to encourage me to go swimming and do some exercise... the last thing I want to do at the moment is bloody exercise! The link to the bean feels tenuous enough, without putting pressure on my body, I'm knackered, and fretting because the nausea seems to have faded away last couple of days, arrgh! Has anyone else had symptoms that come and go? I did a hpt yesterday and it seemed a little fainter, but hoping that was just the vagaries of the test/urine concentration etc.?

Sorry, rant over, just needed to get that off my chest!

FluffyDonkey · 09/02/2011 09:20

kateepie rant away! seems to be all i do on here Blush

DH keeps mentionning exercise. Before BFP I did lots of karate. Now I've stopped but he keeps saying I should go swimming or to the gym. I point out that walking up the stairs makes me puke atm and that I'm just too knackered. Maybe later. Maybe...

Crawling · 09/02/2011 09:20

Well dp had a shock he went into work to the office to book a day off and his boss said dont tell me you are booking paternity leave. Dp said he nearly slipped and said how do you know but instead said why?, his bosses wife is 12 weeks pg and he had just booked his paternity leave Grin.

Although this could cause problems because hp is cover manager and they are not allowed time off at the same time.

kateepie2 · 09/02/2011 09:23

Hi fluffy I went for a walk yesterday lunch time and had to come back to my office as I thought I was going to faint! I know swimming is supposed to be safe etc., it just feels like a unnecessary risk at the moment - have said maybe in a week or two. Could do without the pressure, however well meaning.

Hmm
ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 09/02/2011 10:39

smileymumtobe I think your DH's feelings are completely normal. This baby is our second but when I was pregnant with our first in 2008 my DH didn't really talk about it, he didn't make any effort to read any books or really play a very big part in anything. It made me question him and our relationship like mad but I stuck at it and as soon as DD came into the world he burst into tears and explained how scared he was, how he thought he'd be a terrible daddy etc. It's completely normal.

Just try and involve him in as much as you can and talk to him about how you feel to encourage him to do the same. Buy some baby books and leave them lying around, he'll probably have a sneaky read here and there. But once that baby comes ion October he'll really step up :)

My sickness is getting worse than ever. Throwing up every morning and by the time I'm putting DD to bed I'm puking so DH has to do it. I'm just feeling so so ill. I want to be blooming and radiant!

lovemysleep · 09/02/2011 10:49

oli Hope you are ok.

Haven't been on this thread for a few days, and blimey, has it moved on!

5 weeks today - scan booked next Friday, so fingers crossed it'a all gonna be ok.

As for symptoms, they're coming thick and fast. Keep waking up early, and not being able to get back to sleep - 3.50am this morning! Wretching over the loo at 7am too - ugh.

Bizarrely, am craving healthy stuff - when pg with DD it was all curry, ice-cream and pork pies! Now, I'm mad for fruit, which never usually excites me much and tomatoes, and pomegranate juice. Even tried to eat a Bounty today, which I usually love, and it tasted far too sweet and I couldn't eat it.

Sore boobs, bloating aswell.

Just glad to have symptoms - have had 4 mc's previously, so am hoping that this one will stick - also on lots of meds, so they may be contributing to some of the symptoms too.

As for exercise ladies - I'm not up to much with that either - couldn't even manage Pilates the other night! Am hoping to just get out and do some walking or swimming, and am supposed to be going to circuit training on Friday morning - HmmHmm

sunface · 09/02/2011 10:53

oh olismum i'm so sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself, big hugs x

Ladies, i'm the same, can't face exercise and have my DP saying 'are you off to your class tonight then' - erm no, i'm not actually cos i'm feeling like c**p!!!!! Bit worried as i've had really bad (sorry TMI) diorreah yesterday and today, not too sure what is going on......

kateepie2 · 09/02/2011 10:58

crawling had to smile at your story Smile

Has anyone else had a sore throat in the early weeks? I am 4+1 and can't seem to shift it.

sunface my 'motions' as it were always go weird with period, so guess its a hormonal thing. Probably better than constipation though?!

monkeychambers · 09/02/2011 11:23

Another new joiner for the October baby bus.

Got a bfp last week and edd is 11 October.

This will be DC number 2 for us.

Very tired - but feel a bit brighter today (so thats causing panic in me)

Just wish I could fast forward these next few weeks. Time is going so so slowly....

I too am craving lots of fruit especially mango bizzarely. Last time was all cake and chocolate cravings.

congratulations to everyone else.

monkeychambers · 09/02/2011 11:27

Also meant to say so glad I'm not the only one feeling nervous ! (can't think when I am going to relax into it)

starsandplanets11 · 09/02/2011 11:54

Hello everyone. I'd like to join the bus. Had a positive test on Sunday, first time ever seeing that second line. Must be about week 5 now. DH is over the moon, we somehow didn't believe we'd even get this far.

kateepie2 - I have a bit of a sore throat and a runny nose too.
Main symptom is that my abdomen feels like I did a thousand sit ups or somebody was kicking me in the ribs already! Also bloating, dizziness, sore breasts but in a different way than before the period.

I agree time is running so slowly right now. It seems like a million years since Sunday...

dribbleface · 09/02/2011 12:01

Really sorry Olismum Sad

Feeling rough today. Crampy, sick and have a wicked sore throat (not pregnancy related i'm sure). Have a study day off work to catch up but dropped DS off at nursery and gone back to bed (feeling guilty now)

I craved fruit with DS and still crave oranges this time round but the desire for fast food is overwhelming.
