Will anyone join a new baby bus with me?

I just got a BFP this morning so its very early days for me, but I'm so excited I thought what the hell, I'll head straight for the pregnancy thread anyway Grin

If all goes according to plan this will be DC2 and due on 2nd October. Ive enjoyed being on the October TTC bus so I thought it would be fun to continue over here.

Morning ladies hope evone had a good weekend? I'm off to the doctors this morning to see what happens in terms of how far along I am, scans etc etc. Will keep you posted. Boobs still v sore and had (TMI!) bad bout of diorreah (spelling?!) This morning :(

FluffyDonkey · 07/02/2011 09:14

Hey all
Still haven't told anyone except my parents. DH is telling his mum this weekend.
Feel knackered at the moment. Couldn't get up yesterday until I forced myself out for a walk with DH and felt better.

Sickness has kicked in - feel queasy most of the time and had lots of dry retching this morning - fun Hmm

Is anyone actually sick sick? Cos I just seem to be retching. Will it get worse? Or is retching what people mean when they say morning sickness?

Also I don't feel at all hungry, but know I have to avoid an empty stomach else I'll feel sick.

Just registered with the maternity. Have a confirmation meeting in 3 weeks time.

FluffyDonkey · 07/02/2011 09:15

sunface - hope it goes well with the Drs.

sunface · 07/02/2011 09:19

Thanks fluffy. Poor you, i've not had any sickness yet... Hope you are feeling ok. X

OptomisticBiscuit · 07/02/2011 10:31

Ninunina I have brown spotting this morning too. It's hard not to panic, I'm certainly not concentrating on my work that's for sure. I have some very mild cramping - not really cramping at all but the odd twinge. Not sure if I should call the doctors - apart from scanning is there anything they (or I) can actually do?

happymummytobe · 07/02/2011 11:18

Hey all
I found out on Saturday that I'm pregnant! I don;t want to tell my parents or parents in law until we've had the 12 week scan. DH has agreed but has banned me from telling anyone else (I really want to tell just one friend!). I'm at work and it's so strange not telling anyone! I think my due date is October 17th Grin. We only got married in January and this is a honeymoon baby Wink
Anyway, just wanted to say hello and congratulations to all of you!

kateepie2 · 07/02/2011 11:24

Hi happymummy, congrats on your news - we share due dates :)

kateepie2 · 07/02/2011 11:31

Fluffy I've been feeling sick since last Wednesday, was my earliest symptom, along with heartburn (which I've never had, so that was novel). I had one day where I was retching like you, but didn't bring anything up - the rest of the time its just low grade nausea. The only way I can deal with it is to constantly eat at the moment, though even then I get a very sour/bitter taste in my mouth, bleugh.

Hope you feel better soon!

happymummytobe · 07/02/2011 11:40

Hello kateepie Smile How lovely to find someone with the same due date!
I'm sure it's in my imagination but I feel like I have a bit of a tummy already. My jeans feel really tight, but I haven't actually put on any weight. It's way too early for maternity jeans - right?
fluffy I felt really queasy straight away - the only thing that helps me is eating regularly.
Also, stupid question, but my boobs are really sore (and big). Should I buy a normal bra in a bigger size, or a maternity bra? Really confused Confused!

kateepie2 · 07/02/2011 11:55

happymummy not sure about the bra thing, my boobs have grown tons too, and I bought a non-underwired bigger bra, and hated it the moment I put it on! So still in my normal one at the moment. They hurt if I go up and down stairs, but mostly just feel bloody heavy! Grin

sunface · 07/02/2011 11:56

welcome new mummies to be!! well i went to the docs this morning and my EDD is 30th Sept/1st October, but i'm only just 6weeks so still very very early. I MC'd at 8weeks last year so until that stage has passed, i just feel like i can't relax or feel like it's real, if that makes sense. Dr was brilliant and said she would flag up to the early prg unit that i'd MC'd last year and she'd appreciate me being seen sooner rather than later, so here's hoping....

PS happymummytobe all of my trousers are def tighter too, but then i'm not as skinny as i was 2nd time around and older too, so that's my excuse!

kateepie2 · 07/02/2011 12:21

When is the best time to go to docs? The ones at my surgery are all useless (usually think you're making it all up) so was thinking about leaving it until I'm actually late... currently 14dpo, though I ov'd a couple of days earlier than predicted, so not entirely sure when AF would be due anyway (Tues-Thurs this week I think).

How has everyone else tackled the docs?

xx

sunface · 07/02/2011 12:25

hi kateepie i left it 2 weeks after i got my BFP more because i wanted to be a bit more into the pregnancy before i went - still very early though. Kind of wish i hadn't found out for a few weeks yet! I wouldn't wait though as in some areas the wait for 12wk scans can be horrendous...

snowpeas · 07/02/2011 13:27

Hi everyone and welcome to the new ladies, haven't had chance to catch up on the weekend posts yet so hope everyone is well.

Went to the doctor's this morning and she was very nice but didn't really tell me anything I didn't already know, she didn't even work out an EDD just asked if I was taking folic acid and had a brief discussion about my previous pregnancies, it was nice to make things 'official' though and it makes things seem abit more real.

Have to go and see the midwife a week on Wednesday and they will organise the 12 week scan, although I have just worked out that we will be on holiday the week it is due so not sure what they will do about that, will probably have to wait until we come back.

snowpeas · 07/02/2011 13:28

Kateepie I waited 2 weeks after BFP before seeing the doctor too.

Linda40 · 07/02/2011 14:16

Congratulations Happymummy :)

Sunface, I MC at 12 weeks last year, Im 5 weeks now and going for an early scan at 7 weeks.

Other than the sore and heavy boobs, Im doing fine. Im dying to tell my two DDs, but im waiting until 3 months at least.

SazzyM · 07/02/2011 14:17

Hi all,
Hope everyone's well - brilliant to see what everyone is up to! I told my folks at the weekend which was lovely - Mum was v excited - Dad loooked a bit taken a back and then found a plug that needed re-wiring that very second (nees to process things via DIY!)

I am still waiting to hear from the hospital - the GP sends away the referral and then you just wait for a call right? I think I'm going to have to call soon - waiting is not my strong point!

Woke up with grim sore throat....better not be getting the lurghi - especially as I don't think I could take any medication! Sob.

sunface · 07/02/2011 14:32

Thanks linda40, my doctor did say i could call my EPU and see if they do a reassurance scan. Going to do that i think and see what they say. Sorry to hear you had a MC too :( here's hoping for healthy pregancies this time. What age are your other 2? mine are older, 8 and 3.5yrs...

olismum23 · 07/02/2011 14:47

Sorry if this is TMI my discharge seems to have lots of white lumps in it but it does not feel like thrush, which i thought it could be because i am on antibiotics is anyone else had this is it anything to worry about?

sunface · 07/02/2011 15:09

hi olismum i'm still getting a lot of white CM too, no idea what it means to be honest...said to the doc this morning and she said as long as it wasn't smelly (sorry TMI!) or coloured then it's fine.. hope that helps! i'm just putting it down to another lovely symptom?!

lovemylittlebean · 07/02/2011 15:34

Hello Jagjac and arabella lovely to meet people due around same day! Symptoms are definitely getting stronger, spent half the afternoon in bed yesterday!

Hi Penelope, we've told out parents and our bosses (just in case something happens, we're both in jobs where bosses knowing as early as pos will make things a lot easier). I really want to tell my sisters, but one of them found out she had a MMC at 10 weeks the same week we found out I was PG (I felt so guilty!), so we're holding off for a while coz I don't think it would be fair to say anything.

I've got an appt tomorrow morning for a scan and they said I might need an internal scan too - has anyone had one of these?

olismum23 · 07/02/2011 15:52

Hi lovemylittlebean i have had two so far as they thought due to my hormones i was going to m/c they are fine a little uncomfortable when they are trying to see your overies and bean etc but it is the clearest pic at these stages even saw my wee beans heart beat on friday!

Sunface thanks for the info as previously said i have been knicker checking and on edge from the start due to the doc initial prognosis! I booked a doc appointment just to get thrush stuff just in case!

good luck with the scan LMLB :)

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 07/02/2011 16:02

Hello everyone :)

LMLB - internal scans are easy peasy I have had dozens and they aren't in the slightest bit uncomfortable for me. They just insert the end of a probe covered with lube and a condom and hey presto. I almost always have to have one as I have a retroverted uterus - tilts backwards into my spine - so external ones can't get close enough to see ovaries etc.

All is ok with me, sickness has started in the mornings but seems to subside once I have been sick. Get a few waves of nausea when I smell DDs weetabix and other random things throughout the day. Boobs and nipples are sore and plenty of white CM too. According to my dates I am 5+5. Still waiting for a call from the MW. Not sure how long I should leave it before I call them first.

Ninunina · 07/02/2011 16:14

Hello ladies, I'm afraid I'm getting off the bus today since I've just had a mc Sad I've just been for a scan since I started bleeding yesterday and they couldn't see any sign of the pregnancy. They're checking my hormone levels and will have to go in again on Wednesday to make sure they're going down.

DH and I are obviously devistated, but we're trying to remain positive. I was a little taken a back because they thought my ovaries might by Polycystic (something I didn't have 6 months ago).

Wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies.

ALovelyBunchOfCoconuts · 07/02/2011 16:17

Ninunina - Sorry for your loss :( Hope things go okay Wednesday and you can move on from this.

FWIW I also have Polycystic ovaries only diagnosed 3 months ago.
