I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

Evening everyone, I am still stuck at work (remember these days ScrumpyPrincess?!)

I can't believe she did that ScrumpyPrincess! That is outrageous.

I'm not sure where legally you stand on that... i think legally she cant announce something so personal under confidentiality laws.

thankyou for the tip, will try that.

reddaisy · 01/02/2011 19:52

And lolajane, I too have got chapped lips! I think I have been excessively thirsty since I got pregnant and I lick my lips when I don't drink enough so I think that is what has caused mine!! So I have got vaseline and lots of water on my desk today!

There may be laws but I don't think she did it maliciously. We are friends. I'm going to talk to her when I'm calmer and more in control of my hormones. I don't want to fall out with her but she needs to know how much she's upset me.

Senior team aren't too impressed as they thought I'd told everyone, they were shocked to discover it was one person so I knew where the leak was. I don't think she's done herself any favours. When I said CEO I mean head teacher - forgot I already told you guys I work in a school. She might be on mumsnet - but her baby's due in August so I figure she won't be on this thread.

I have now told the lady who works in the office next to me as she was worried (I kept signing out for hospital apps). I think she thought I was seriously ill. The fact so many people know, I thought at least I get to tell her myself.

PrincessScrumpy · 01/02/2011 21:10

reddaisy are you on a daily or weekly? regional or national?

dh lift shares with a reporter as it's an hour's commute each way. His lift share was delighted when dh (who is his boss) announced they were leaving at 5pm (the time he should finish but never does) yesterday. Made it home for 7.15pm tonight so just managed bedtime story while I went for Indian take away.

My bump is now really showing... might be the masses of food I've just consumed! Grin

reddaisy · 01/02/2011 21:19

I'm on a regional daily, as you know from your DP the hours are erratic and it doesn't help that my car is off the road at the moment and I am having to go into work with someone who starts before me and come home with someone who finishes after me, it sucks!

But on the whole I love my job and I never dread going in which is good.

Yum, Indian takeaway sounds good. I changed my mind about the salmon that should have been for tea and had cheese on toast instead. I think my pregnancy fussiness has kicked in already.

I was very good and didn't blame baby for the take away - just had a bad day!

Why is it that murders etc always come to light at about 5.30pm just as dh is about to come home? He used to get home at 9.30pm but they changed the deadlines to save money so he finishes earlier now.

reddaisy · 01/02/2011 22:35

I know! Or we get a tip off that we have to investigate only for it to turn out it wasn't true or we can't stand it up before deadline so I end up being late for no reason, grr.

Actually, I don't mind when it is for a proper story I hate being late when it is because more senior people have dragged their heels over decisions which impact on me as those kind of things are avoidable.

Evening ladies and bumps.

I have my first meeting with the midwife tomorrow, it's been so long I don't know what to expect!

reddaisy · 01/02/2011 22:48

Ooh, good luck Chelstonmum! Let us know how you get on, I have still got two weeks to wait for mine.

I am watching One Born Every Minute on catch-up now, just realised that this baby has got to come out somehow. Shock

Plenty of time to adjust to the idea I suppose!

lolajane2009 · 01/02/2011 23:07

lol i freaked myself over that yesterday... i am surprised it got in and am now scared how it will come out, especially as i am tiny and hubbys family all have massive head, including my two beautiful neices.

reddaisy · 02/02/2011 10:59

It's not right though is it?! There must be a better way, what is wrong with hatching an egg? That sounds better to me.

Eifos21 · 02/02/2011 11:34

Hello,

Would I be able to join? My DD is 20 Sep and as it is my first I am pretty nervous/worried and confused by everything.

lolajane2009 · 02/02/2011 12:11

i think my morning sickness is increasing... is this normal?

went and found some sugar free pear drops... hopefully they will help.

chelstonmum · 02/02/2011 15:42

Afternoon all,
I am not long home from the midwife after a 90min appointment! I forgot how much paperwork has to be filled out at the first one. She makes me to be due of the 20th, I make the 21st and GP said the 22nd.......so im thinking that week! lol.

I have to ring the hospital next week to book my scan......can't wait! x

lolajane2009 · 02/02/2011 16:02

oh i've not even heard from my MW yet... should i be concerned.

chelstonmum · 02/02/2011 16:04

Hi Lolajane, when are you due? I went to my GP (as thats what the protocol is in my practice) and he made the midwife app. x

PrincessScrumpy · 02/02/2011 16:26

I'm seeing mw tomorrow. Hope it's less than 90 mins - I have a training session to go to.

Hi Lolajane - I went to my gp and he said mw would want to see me at 7 weeks. Might just be how it works here though. I remember it being tedious. DH came last time, he's not bothering this time. Managed to work from home Monday so he can make my next scan.

With regards to morning sickness, this time last week I thought I was miscarrying so waking up yeaterday with sickness was the best thing as it means things are progressing. Dh thinks I'm the ownly woman who greeted sickness with "woohoo"

Congrats Eifos21, welcome to the thread.

PrincessScrumpy · 02/02/2011 16:29

I spoke to my head today and he told me who told him - not my boss but a friend of my boss. I spoke to my line manager/friend about it and she apologised a lot and is mortified that her friend told the head - her friend is on mat leave but came in for a meeting to discuss a grievance. Really don't get how I came up but some chat about lots of pgs at the moment.

Boss and I are now fine - made it clear how upset I was while retaining my dignity. She hadn't noticed I was avoiding her for 2 days and had no idea.

lolajane2009 · 02/02/2011 16:39

i'm due sept 14th from my lmp date and what the gp said.

eastegg · 02/02/2011 16:47

lolajane I'm expecting DC2 and with my first I saw absolutely nobody (apart from GP) until my 12 week scan. Booking-in with MW was actually after that. So practice really does vary. I'd phone the surgery and ask them exactly what the practice is in your area.

lolajane2009 · 02/02/2011 16:59

oh ok. i asked receptionist and she said 'further along' when she phoned to ask me to give them something. lol think i'mm a little stressed and twitching as its my first time withot anti depressants in a while.

citymonkey · 02/02/2011 17:12

Hello all, just been reading all of your posts. I am due on 17th Sept, so 7+3 today I think. Early scan on Friday, am a real panicker... hoping they will be able to pick up a heartbeat.

Are any of you in the SW London area?

PrincessScrumpy · 02/02/2011 18:18

Congrats citymonkey. Good luck for Friday. I had one last Thursday and have another on Monday. Thursday's wasn't very reassuring to hopefully Monday's will be.

They said my dates were wrong but I know my dates (all marked on the calendar as dh and I aren't great with being careful. We were trying this month though. The date they think I conceived was the week I had flu and really wasn't up for it (plus that was the week I got bfp so makes no sense)!

Really hope yours is less stressfull

lolajane2009 · 02/02/2011 18:25

i have to admit... thats what i worry about... no heartbeat.
