I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

LoveBeingAtHomeOnMyOwn · 18/08/2011 15:48

No need to say sorry, this is the one place you don't have to worry about how it cones across Wink

I forgot the Grin at the end of my last post, would just be nice to have her, she looked after me with dd as well.

Defo no sex or curry, well maybe a mild curry but that's cause I love them. I want this baby to stay in as long as possible. Am no where near ready to meet him!!!!

PrincessScrumpy · 18/08/2011 18:01

Had a rubbish appointment today. Scan went well. Babies are 5lb 7oz and 4lb 14oz - so both put on a pound in a week - I think they are going to be giant ones, thank goodness they're coming in two weeks! Consultant team I usually see had a big meeting this morning so I was booked in for this afternoon. Consultant had an argument with mws about it last time as they said the consultant wouldn't see me as I wasn't part of that clinic, my one said "well he'll have to see her and is perfectly capable - it's two weeks before her cs and the appointment needs to be then." Anyway, after scan I had not been booked into the clinic so had to go to labour ward and see the on-duty registrar who came and listed all the things that can go wrong and told me to sign, asked if I had any questions, when I tried to ask them he said to ask them at my pre-op appointment and he left. Isaid to the lovely mw who was there that I didn't have a pre-op booked and she sorted it and we were sent back to the clinic where they admitted they hadn't realised the nature of my appointment and that I needed an MRSA swab. They did that and made the pre op app, but the moody mw and receptionist started to quiz us as to why we are booked to have a scan the day before cs and that they will cancel it. DH stepped in and said "no, the consultant wanted that appointment so we'll keep it thanks!" (I don't think they realised I'm having twins). They then got stroppy about why I am having cs on 2nd Sept - well, it's the date the consultant gave me! Confused

I came away really upset as no-one would take responsibility for my care, I was left feeling guilty as if I'd done something wrong and without the info I needed to feel reassured.

Sorry for the rant - this is the abridged version! Anyway, babies are fine, mummy is stressed and tearful.

Valiant1 · 18/08/2011 19:57

Hi princess sorry you had a bad time some times i don't think the left hand knows what the right is doing! I'm sure that when you go in they will be better pre pared for you xx glad the twins are growing for you xx my ds has come home from my mums with a bad eye.. he says he been in the sand then he didn't have peanut butter Hmm (he has nut allergys) so am going sort him out xx hugs princess hope you get sorted xx

candr · 19/08/2011 11:30

Oh Princess, you could do with out all that stress at the moment. Can't believe how quick babies are growing you must be knackered. Sending hugs your way.xx (they should have a 'hug' emoticon)

PrincessScrumpy · 19/08/2011 21:16

I was told twins slow in growth from 30w - not these two. dd1 was 6lb 14oz at full term so it's not like she was a huge one. I'm betting that if I get to 2nd Sept, they will be over 6lbs as they put on 1lb in the last fortnight. Not sure how acurate the scans are though.

Valiant1 · 19/08/2011 21:26

I am hoping they have it wrong for my baby. according to them she has only put on 4oz a week in 6 weeks! which works out at roughly 1lb 8oz she needs to put 2lb on in 2 weeks to be back on my graph thinggy :( or she will be evicted early and she needs to turn Hmm if they are this much trouble now then this one is going to be a right pain when she is a teanager lol how is everyone else today xx

CrazyAlien06 · 20/08/2011 13:56

Hey I'm ok , baby always wriggling away! I want to know if he/she is growing well but guess I can't find out?
I have my 36 wk scan in 2 weeks as part of the research project so will get a last look at mini one before he/she arrives!

My back ache is really bad, booked docs but gotta wait till 31st so that's fun. Heartburn is being a b**ch too!

On a lighter note have been on a I dont need this it's being binned mood! Emptied my dressing table to make more room in spare room (nursery!)
Just need to find somewhere to store my make up, nail varnishes and perfumes! Oh an jewellery! Fun fun

Need to finish rest of ironing of baby stuff and triple check my labour bag and pack baby's bag! My neice was 3 weeks early so that's in my head and that's 3 weeks away lol. Hopefully I'll have the full 6 weeks left :0) especially as DH is off few days before the due date which will be resssuring! Scared of the labour now:( my mum,nan and Sis all had their babies very quickly! My mum went for routine mw appt and was 5cm dilated and having contractions but couldn't feel them!I took 3 hrs to arrive and my bro 1.5hrs- both born at home due to speed! My sis went from 0-5cm in 40 mins and had to have epidural to slow it down! Wonder if I'll be the same and be quick or be the odd one out! Knowing my luck I'll be odd one out

Hope u are all having a good Saturday:0) I'm watching footie, cricket, footie and x factor all day! oh and big bro! All this probably whilst bouncing on my ball to avoid back ache!

lolajane2009 · 20/08/2011 15:52

Went to hospital last night as was getting backache and stomach pain and been feeling a bit off. They couldnt identify the pain but it seems to have died down and baby was fine and when they looked my water was intact and I wasnt dialated. They gave me some co codomol when I decided I'd rather come home and they are great as I feel no pain but I keep falling asleep.

Valiant1 · 20/08/2011 17:00

Hope you ok lola get plenty of rest xx

Valiant1 · 21/08/2011 18:13

How is every one? I shattered am going see m/w tomorrow fingers crossed all goes well then just wait till Thursday for the scan xx

PrincessScrumpy · 21/08/2011 19:34

Good luck for tomorrow valiant

I've spent the weekend taking dd out and entertaining her in the kitchen as it's tiled, and sorting through toys into storage boxes, and dh has been hoovering, tidying and using the carpet shampoo we hired for our stupid cream carpets. Feeling really tired and unwell but I'm going to have a shower and an early night tonight.

We have all the baby stuff sorted apart from the pushchair but have a temporary one incase we need it. I haven't properly packed my hospital bag - I really hate packing - it's in the cot that's set up beside the bed with all the stuff that needs to go in it. I'll do it tomorrow Grin. I've typed out a list so dh can put things together and I've packed a bag with everything the babies will need initially. I'm so rubbish - I think it will make it all a bit too real. I'm assuming they'll wait until 2nd Sept now we've had one scare at 33w. We had a scare with dd1 coming at 32w that they stopped it then she came 2 days before her due date.

Valiant1 · 22/08/2011 08:06

Hi Princess, me and dd packed the 'final' hospital bag on Saturday when the boys were at foot ball am expecting to be delivered early and want to be ready. I will find out on the 1st what is happening xx going school shoe shopping tomorrow and then going iron the uniforms wed, and get them ready. Hopefully will just have to sit and wait then M/W at half 9 so am glad its an early appointment. Hope Lola is OK and everyone else is resting xx

ScarlettPhoenix · 22/08/2011 09:28

Lolajane - hope youre okay?

I'm off to the NCT Bumps and Babies group again this morning, I'm looking forward to seeing all of the new arrivals again! I'm generally still feeling really well, a little bit achy but I think that's due to the amount of hoovering I decided to do yesterday - won't be doing that much again, it felt like I had run a marathon!!

PrincessScrumpy · 22/08/2011 10:42

I'm probably the only one with this fear - my twins will be huge, giant babies. I presumed they would be prem as there's such a high chance with ID twins and I know I should be grateful that I'm at 35w +4 with cs booked for 37w+1. My scan on Thursday showed that both babies had grown 1lb in 2 weeks. If they keep it up they will be well over 6lbs when born. dd1 was 6lb 14oz at full term so I'm really surprised and concerned by how much more I can take. I can barely walk but with a 3.5yo I can't just sleep all day like I want to.

I am delighted they are healthy, just wish I was! Smile

LoveBeingAtHomeOnMyOwn · 22/08/2011 11:01

Morning all glad everyone is getting on ok.

Well I started to get really panicy yesterday about the baby coming any day, the student mw defo set something off I think.

Re baby size my mum started going on about that yesterday plus mw said he's a good size, isn't that code for big? Shock

Valiant1 · 22/08/2011 15:52

Well my m/w is weird I went to see her today hoping for some reassurance and came away feeling worse!!! She just kept saying well i don't think they will leave her in longer than 37 weeks.. there no point booking you in with me again!!! I was like so in your experiences she will be delivered sooner rather than later? well I can't say either way!!! !!!! ok thanks i am in full get ready mode now defo sorting kids uniforms out Wednesday and defo getting shoes tomorrow. food shopping DH is very capable of and all the other stuff can go to the dogs lol

PrincessScrumpy · 22/08/2011 16:35

37 weeks will be fine Valiant - baby shouldn't need SCBU even hopefully.

DH keeps trying to reassure me he can cook a bit - last night he put a pizza in the oven but left the card base! I'm not convinced by his cooking ability!

Valiant1 · 22/08/2011 17:13

My dh was on his own for 6 years before i moved in and had to cook for him and dsd every day (her mum died when she was 4) any way the other week i went to free-port to get something from the chemist and asked him to put the chicken in the oven for the fajitas. I had been gone half an hour and got a phone call " i burnt the chicken!!!" How i hear you ask? put the grill on not the oven ended up with a take away!!!!! so he may be able to shop but cooking may be a different story unless it is beans on toast then he may survive lol thankfully the kids will be at school having school dinners :) my dd was born at 37 weeks so am not to worried just that she will be small :(

lolajane2009 · 22/08/2011 17:16

I'm ok. Just spaced from my pills atm. Hubby cleaned out more of the house today and is being a good boy.

LoveBeingAtHomeOnMyOwn · 22/08/2011 17:51

Sorry for your crappy days girls Sad

I've cleaned out some kitchen cupboards and rearranged the workflow, obviously ds will be really impressed by this when he arrives Grin

Valiant1 · 22/08/2011 20:56

LoveBeingAtHomeOnMyOwn · 22/08/2011 21:02
