I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

Val that's terrible. A woman at work a few weeks behind me lost hers at 22/23 weeks Sad

Valiant1 · 04/08/2011 10:14

I just don't know what to say to her :( last night was the worst night sleep i had in ages and today i feel really somber and just keep bursting into tears, DH trying pick me up but i just keep crying :( and i feel so selfish as it's not me that has lost so weird x :( :(

candr · 04/08/2011 10:41

I think it is natural to feel like that Val, there is nothing you can do but be there for her and it brings reality home to you about how precious life is, it also makes it hard to feel happy about your pregnancy around your friend. Your emotions will be all over the place and this just hightens them. It may be best to give in and have a huge sob which will wear you out but may relieve some of the tension you are feeling. Then eat some chocolate (to get energy back!) Sending love your friends way x

Valiant1 · 04/08/2011 11:12

I am going to give in don't think i can hold it together much longer xx going watch a film in a bit

PrincessScrumpy · 04/08/2011 12:24

So sorry Valiant - such a horrific thing for your friend to go through. I keep crying and I don't even have a reason.

I've seen the consultant today and twin 1 is 4lb 5oz and twin 2 is 3lb 15oz which they're happy with. Consultant is sure I'll get to 37w and has booked me in for 2nd Sept so my girls will be the oldest in the year when they reach school (unless they do decide to prove the consultant wrong). My mum - who seems to think she knows more than the consultant - said "well, I don't think you'll go another 4 weeks personally - I would be very surprised!" Not sure what she's basing it on other than the fact I have a big bump - but I haven't seen her for 3 weeks as she lives a fair way away. Time will tell who is right. Consultant said he wouldn't worry even if they were born today as they are good weights and would be fine.

Valiant1 · 04/08/2011 14:37

That's fab new princess, are you ready?

lolajane2009 · 04/08/2011 18:41

well went for my scan today and baby has grown but is still on the small side. Placenta has moved though so I can have vaginal delivery but like tuesday he decided to be naughty and play 'lets boot the equipment'. LO has also dropped a bit and that explains why I constantly need the toilet.

lolajane2009 · 04/08/2011 18:41

baby is estimated at 4lb 8 at 33 + 6

LoveBeingAtHomeOnMyOwn · 04/08/2011 18:49

Good new for princess and lola Grin

val it's upsetting cause it's so close, it almost feels like you've come close to it yourself. The lady at my work I hardly knew, I spoke to her friend at work to say how sorry I was and ended up bursting into tears.

PrincessScrumpy · 04/08/2011 20:26

We have all of dd1's baby stuff and have ordered extra things like a new cot and matresses etc but still waiting for the pushchair we think we want to become available so we can test it out - I'll feel happier once that's ordered and we've picked up everything. This weekend we are having a big house tidy and clean so next weekend we can pick up everything and get the cot put together. I think I'll feel happier once we've done that and dh's booking a rugdoctor to shampoo the carpets in a week's time.

Valiant1 · 05/08/2011 13:40

Princess my DH is cleaning carpets as we speak!! and cot mattress coming today finally coming together xx wish I had left it all to do in one day as all seems done with 7 weeks to go! I will be bored now lol xx

Love it is so close and even closer today as my friend had a Girl xx Ruby Grace x have been cleaning all day just to keep my mind of it but just been to check face book and read it again and burst into tears. Have managed to put my condolences on xx My DS1 is really worried about me keeps offering me coffee lol x bless him.

PrincessScrumpy · 08/08/2011 20:52

Spent some time in hospital from early Friday morning until last night. I started having contractions but they managed to stop them. They think I have an an irritable uterus caused by the twins stretching my uterus so much. Cervix remains closed and I've been told to rest. They said I could stay in but may rest more at home so I opted to come home. My mum is helping look after dd and will take her back to her house for a few days so I can fully rest on Wednesday. Tomorrow we're going to the supermarket and mum is going to help batch cook some things to freeze.

Mum is adamant I won't get to 37w but time will tell. Dh is doing the carpets this week and we're picking up the cot etc on Saturday so we can be fully ready. (ish)

LoveBeingAtHomeOnMyOwn · 09/08/2011 07:09

Princess glad you are home always more restful!

PrincessScrumpy · 10/08/2011 04:34

Found out today that over the weekend the hospital I was in had 27 births (Sat and Sunday) - they usually average 3 births a day!

I knew they were busy and had to close the labour ward overnight to new patients from 6pm to 5am, which they haven't done for years. I have to say, despite being busy, the care I received was fab and I'm not worried at all now for the care I'll get once babies arrive.

Anyone else struggling to sleep? - Hence the fact I'm on here at 4.30am!

lolajane2009 · 10/08/2011 07:28

lol yes, 4 hrs is normal period of sleep atm. also really really really hungry atm. I think I am trying to eat myself out of house and home.
