I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

ScarlettPhoenix · 31/07/2011 01:26

Hi everyone, can I join in please? I'm due on 14th Sept, it's our first baby so we're getting nervous!! I'm loving this forum, found lots of good tips and ideas so far! :)

summerpixie · 31/07/2011 04:12

Welcome Scarlett! We're a friendly bunch here.

One week into summer hols and I've been struck down with the dreaded cold Sad I'm usually so good combatting the illnesses but this pregnancy had brought out the worst in me. I hate not bring able to take any medicine.
The other night I had the most itchiest feet to go along with the cold so, having had pupps last pregnancy I went to see the gp in the morning to get referred for a blood test. Had to see the locum who asked me what OC was!!! Eventually got a blood test at local hosp( not maternity) and have to wait til next week for results Angry
I had a scan 2 weeks ago and I've got a 'chubby' baby on the way. With all these issues I really hope she'll arrive end of august to give me a few weeks before ds starts school. Glad everyone else is surviving the last month and lets hope it flies by as I'm feeling rather gigantic already. X
P.s I'm due 18/09 but hoping for an earlier arrival.

LoveBeingAtHomeOnMyOwn · 31/07/2011 06:52

Hi ScarlettPhoenix and congrats!

Summerpixie I feel gigantic too, much bigger and higher than with dd.

CrazyAlien06 · 31/07/2011 08:17

welcome Scarlett :D

PrincessScrumpy · 31/07/2011 10:15

Welcome Scarlett.

Last pg it felt like people were being especially nice and would hold doors, let me skip the supermarket queue etc but this time it's mostly ignored as if they hadn't noticed. I'm not that big and the twins are not that small so it's not like I'm hiding the pg!
In the service station yesterday I was queuing for the loo I had to wait behind 11 others all the time hoping one of the girls didn't kick my bladder! One lady did strike up a conversation but it soon ended when she insited she was psychic and I am "definitely having boys" - err actually the scan disagrees. Heehee.

Valiant1 · 31/07/2011 10:36

I was in the coop yesterday and my dd asked about the baby and the lady behind the counter said oh you havin another? i goes " yeah only got 8 weeks" she looked at me and goes "thats a bit early be telling everyone"?????? i looked at her and said noo i have 8 weeks till i give birth!!! she just stood there staring at my belly well you don't look it!! and walked off. !!!!! i told dh i not going out again!!
rang the hospital they were busy so told to ring if i was in any pain or my waters go and too keep my feet up and relax so i am doing just that xx hope all enjoy the nice sunny day today xx

Valiant1 · 31/07/2011 10:37

welcome scarlett the 14th is my birthday xxx:)

ScarlettPhoenix · 31/07/2011 19:30

Thanks for the warm welcome every1! The 14th is my sisters birthday as well, she's hoping I don't go on that day so she doesn't have to share haha! We packed our hospital bags yesterday so it feels much more real now, I feel ready!

candr · 31/07/2011 20:54

What is the lucozade challenge - is it something I should have done? Hi Scarlett - my baby is due on DH birthday - he doesn't want to share either and actually said I wouldn't understand till I reminded him I am a twin and have no choice in sharing mine.

CrazyAlien06 · 31/07/2011 21:28

candr its something to do with diabetes I believe. I am totally confused with it !

100years · 01/08/2011 14:27

Hey everyone.

I've done a new thread for September due dates, as there are 3 threads that people are posting on. Thought it would be nice to all come together for the last bit of the pregnancy. I know I haven't actually posted in here, but was struggling to keep up with the other 2 threads.

I know this thread isn't finished, but here is the new thread

Come and join me. :)

lolajane2009 · 01/08/2011 15:04

the glucoze tolerance check. you have to go and drink a liquid, have your blood taken, wait 2 hrs then get it taken again to check for gestational diabetes. I had it done as my dad is diabetic and have pcos.

Valiant1 · 01/08/2011 17:27

Hi all, having a bad day, was going to go see my m/w but she off so rang the MAU good job i did i started to bleed! when i got there the woman kept on its old blood!! how can u get old blood? i have pains as well and tightenings, Then i was examined and told i have errosion on my cervex and to come home. If i get any worse i have to go back. i am so confused how can you have old blood and errosion on your cervex? they also said i have protien and luatites in my urine and blood????

to top it off i rang my mum who turned round and said it's not that bad or they would have give you an abortion :( :( i am still getting pain and am sorry for always moaning just thought i would let you know xxxx
Going to bed with a bigblock of Galaxy and Twighlight dvds xx

LoveBeingAtHomeOnMyOwn · 01/08/2011 17:34

Omg val and Shock at your mum

if you are worried just go to hospital.

Valiant1 · 01/08/2011 17:38

i have just come from there they told me i can just go back at any time if the pain gets worse i will by the looks of it theis errosion thing is quite common ..i just googled it. still bemused as to how it just happens though. I just give in with my mum she a moo!!

PrincessScrumpy · 01/08/2011 22:58

Candr where in Dorset are you going?

Valiant I have erosion of the cervix too - the reason I had a few bleeds in the first two trimesters. All settle down now but dh and I can't have sex as each time I bleed and then I need an anti-d jab as I'm Rhesus negative. Don't really fancy popping in each week saying "dh an I did it again..." Poor dh is being very patient. Mind you, one of the babies keeps kicking my cervix from the inside so I would be worried about poking her! dd's birth turned my cervix inside out (only know this due to smear test as it feels the same to me) and during pg your blood flow is stronger so vessels burst - same as getting nose bleeds but down there! (I've stopped bleeding down there but now my nose keeps going which makes me feel like a child).

As far as the urine goes - sounds to me like you have a urine infection (I've had one which brought on contractions/tightenings). It can aggitate the uterous but so long as cervix remains closed you should be fine. They can also do a fibronectine test which tells you if you are likely to go into labour in the next fortnight (standard test at 28w with ID twins in my hosp). It's 99.7% accurate if it's negative, positive results are more vague but then they'd give you steroids incase.

Hope you can relax a bit Valiant. Big hug x

Valiant1 · 02/08/2011 09:53

Thanks Princess need a hug x and it all slots into place now as she like to kick me on my cervex alot. I am having a lazy day and warned dh that it may be a while before any nookie he was ok about it (for now lol) I also had to have another Anti D yesterday no blood today but still got the period type pains. Had a really big BH yesterday in the hospital and was almost begging for gas and air lol. DH is taking the kids bike riding today so i can rest. Speak later people xx

candr · 02/08/2011 16:59

Hey Princess, we are going to stay somewhere near monkey world and tank museum - my mum has organised it as she wanted a family holiday - am quite glad it is only 4 days though as keep having one day where I feel fine then the next am being sick with no energy and swollen limbs. We are off to dinner for anniversary tonight but may have to ask for table near loo as heartburn gives me about 5 second warning before vomiting and don't want to put other eaters off.
Val, sounds like you are having a rough time, maybe cramps after the fact you had a show a few days ago means something will happen soon. Hope you are feeling better after a chill day
Nookie! have forgtton what that is, my DH admitted that me being pregnant really doesn't do it for him tht way though he does tell me all the time how lovely I look pregnant etc so no insecure feelings from me which is nice. Have found that if I start feeling even a bit horny my abdomen goes really solid and uncomfey anyway so am almost relieved.

PrincessScrumpy · 02/08/2011 21:06

If you need a hospital head to Dorchester Candr - it's supposed to be fab. The coast line is lovely along there with durdledoor and lulworth etc. Abbotsbury may be a bit far from you (Geography is rubbish) but there's a kids farm there that's really good. Enjoy the time away - Cornwall was just what I needed.

Am feeling very stressed tonight and ended up with dd crying having a tantrum about teeth cleaning and me sitting on the bathroom floor crying too. Dd was rather surprised and stopped her tantrum to come and cuddle me. Basically dh picked up his car from a service and within minutes he'd broken down - he's with the RAC now and the garage made an error in the service, plus it looks like dh will be made redundant - announcement coming next Tuesday officially but it doesn't look good as lots of them will be going. Couldn't really be a worse time - don't think my mat pay will cover all the bills somehow. :-(

Valiant1 · 03/08/2011 08:30

OMG PRINCESS I am so sorry hugs hun, xxxxx fingers crossed that he doesn't get made redundant.
I know what you mean about feeling emotional,,, i am in a bad mood today and it's only 8:20am!
Busy day today sign on , DS2 at speech therapy, get tickets for the football Saturday visit my Mother find a bike for dd2...

Hugs again Princess xxxxxxxxx

candr · 03/08/2011 17:12

Cheers, havn't been to Durdle door since Geog field trip 15 or so years ago. Am keeping fingers crossed for your DH, it is so stressful - I was under redundancy threat back in Sep it was only being pregnant that stopped it. Really hope everything works out for him. Am glad it is not just me feeling emotional Valiant, have been so tired and uncomfey that feel on verge of tears alot and bored of own company but know I wont be good company for anyone else. Hope we all have a better day tommorow.

LoveBeingAtHomeOnMyOwn · 03/08/2011 17:25

Princess sorry to hear that. My dh want made redundant weeks after dd was born. Hope it's a case of everything happens for a reason.

Valiant1 · 03/08/2011 22:04

Am absolutely devastated ... My friend on 8 years has lost her baby at 28 weeks :( the baby was small for dates and there wasn't a lot of fluid around him/her. she hasn't found out yet she is being induced tomorrow but it is her daughters birthday today she is 10 x I had just had a barney with DH over the fact that my sister has asked if we can swap cots she has a cot and we have a cot bed. her dd4 is 14 mths and i didn't see the problem until i got home and thought mmm my sister is not the cleanest person in the world and the mattress we have is virtually new, and now it all just seems so insignificant at the end of the day i can get a new mattress and thats that right??? xx I sitting here and just feel so sad all i could tell my friend was how sorry i was offer my huggs xx just needed to write it down x

cara2244 · 03/08/2011 23:01

Hi ladies, I'm from the July thread and had my baby 5 weeks ago. I have just listed my maternity clothes on Ebay, lots of summery items for the hot weather, all at 99p starting price. I think they will go cheaply as the photos are rubbish but I don't have time to do better ones, with a newborn and a 2 year old. I'm also giving away a free baby sleepsuit with each purchase. If you're looking for any clothes, PM me and I'll give you the link. Jojo Maman, Topshop, Next etc. Good luck with your babies!
