I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

lol Valiant that's funny, poor young guy.
Im having a nightmare morning- serves me right for posting all was well before!
I have not slept through a whole night for months now and last night (well this morning!) I woke up at 430 with a razor sharp throat! had to go get a drink and then sat there for about an hour trying to get back to sleep :( Am absolutely shattered. Also have 27 reports to write after head told me the one I sent needed amending, I sent it before the half term break and she replies 2 days ago when I have a week to get them all done! Arrrggghhhhh how am I going to write all the reports and plan and sleep and try to exist?! So stressed.
Also I have my 24 week mw appt next week and head said she is not sure I can have the time off!! Er I think you ll find you have to by law! Its not my fault you have stuck me on courses that means I am out the day before! Grrr

sorry for the rant just really really fed up, really feel sorry for the baby as poor thing is only getting negative vibes as I dont have any time to spare to think about him/her. If OFSTED decide to 'pop' in I swear I will have a breakdown!

Sorry again for the rant

Hi all

crazy - my hayfever tends to ease off a bit when og so hopefully will this tome tbh not sure there is anything you can take but will keep my fingers crossed.

Jojo -I have heard of that but think it's only if showing a certain level that they actually change the dates. I know one of the reasons a baby can be bigger is due to blood sugar levels but speak to your mw. I know people who had the same thing and dates didn't change and baby was normal size!

I'm feeling terrible today. Am having some uncomfortable pains in my tummy but think it's down to stress and being tired. Dd is still waking me in the night and I got myself really stressed put yesterday about work. Must try and remember that I only have six weeks left!!!! Mum wants me to get signed off but that's not really me.

Valiant1 · 09/06/2011 16:06

My ds is 9 today feel like everything going so fast. Saw a woman at school who was like "hi you looking well, when do you find out what you having" i was like "its agirl i found out a few weeks ago" she says "well they didn't tell me till 20 week2 !!!!! "hello i'm 24+1"she nearly fell over.. "but you so small were you hiding it"ggggrrrrrr it's started !!!!!

hope you get your rports done Crazy xxx

summerpixie · 09/06/2011 22:26

I have had a 'fat' day and have constantly eaten throughout the day. Luckily Thurs & Fri are now easy days at work with little to teach with exam classes gone, although there's still loads of paperwork to do. I have been experiencing LOADS of kicks today which is often offset by days where theres hardly any kicks at all. I, too, hate report writing crazyalien and management at work annoys the hell out of me! I tend to look at it in the way that I do things for the kids and not for management who are so out of touch with reality! Hope your last half term gets better!

lolajane2009 · 10/06/2011 12:37

26 weeks today and still cant beliee i'm pregnant... i'm being little miss piggy now hubby has hid the scales and can't stop myself craving lion bars... cant find them in multipacks though.

Lollyheart · 10/06/2011 21:53

Just trying out the new app Grin hope everyone is well.

I have to have a snickers bar every day mmm Smile

Valiant1 · 11/06/2011 08:38

mmmmmm snickers gets out of bed and gets dressed walks to the shop lol

candr · 11/06/2011 17:10

Think tummy has had growth spurt, skin felt very taught and achey like a swollen drum, baby won't let me sleep on my side now as he kicks furiously and my hands go numb? so sleeping on back it is. Only 7 weeks of teaching left. Am finding I have to do as little as poss at weekends to get through the busy summer weeks at school. Had to clothes shop today as some stuff I bought a while back already doesn't fit and can't wear trackie bums to work - boo! but mothercare and JJB both have great sales on so got some shorts in antcipation of warmer weather soon.

CrazyAlien06 · 11/06/2011 18:03

Cor candr I'd love to not do much at weekends! Mine are so busy with school work it's depressing :( I need some sleep and de stressing! Roll on 12th July when I finish woooo. I haven't got my reports done yet as constantly falling asleep.

Baby us very active most of the time now which is cool :) only under 5 weeks until our next scan at 28 weeks yay!

Hope you are all having a nice weekend. It was my wedding anniversary yday and I'm being taken out for a tummy Vietnamese dinner tonight:) we went to see Peter Kay last night which was good

X

PrincessScrumpy · 11/06/2011 19:52

I got asked if I'd had my 12w scan yet last weekend at a wedding - seriously, my bump is the size I was with dd1 near the end so certainly not small for 25w! Confused

dh has been great today. I think me falling completely asleep at 6.45pm last night showed how tired I am so he took dd out to the cinema and I stayed in bed until 11am! Wow, haven't done that for years.

We ordered a cotbed today and a car seat base - just need to sort out matresses for the new cot and a new one for the old one. And some sheets. I bought two lovely shawls. DH asked why we needed two and I pointed out we're having two babies, to which he replied "oh, true!" Might sink in at some point.

Lollyheart · 11/06/2011 19:58

Lol why do we need twoGrin

I haven't bought anything yet, well I've bought a pram from my sil, I'm getting lots of bits from family, I got rid of all my baby stuff as wasn't planning on 4dc.

PrincessScrumpy · 12/06/2011 14:58

We're only getting stuff now as I'm already big and tired so it's only going to get worse. Plus twins have more than 50% chance of arriving early. DH has a list of things we still need and he will have to get them sorted if babies make an early arrival. I'm working on the basis that if I plan for them arriving early, they'll stay put until my 37w cs. I'd like to get past 32w at least.

Valiant1 · 13/06/2011 11:17

Lolly heart i did the same in November last year got rid of it all my ds2 was 4 and i thought that was it Grin i have very amazing friends whom have given us lots and have been buying in the sales where i can we just need clothes now and a cotbed matress Grin and bottles but they all stuff i going save up and have a day out with th dc in the school holidays and buy. espesaliy as dd is very excited about the fact we having a girl so she wants to buy dresses!!!! Any one in or near great Yarmouth? its just we bought the dc a name thingy for there doors whilst on holidaya few years ago and need to see if i can order on line or phone the shop we got it from xx

CrazyAlien06 · 13/06/2011 11:57

hey everyone,
I have just bought a baby carrier yay- my first purchase apart from couple baby grows :D I am very proud of myself for taking the plune. I am now 24 weeks too, hopefully it will go quickly now!
Im not at work today as am exhausted and feel crap :( Thought it was about time I thought of the baby -which is loving me being at home by not stopping kicking!was hoping to use the extra time to do report writing but cant be bothered :D totally relaxing instead, even though I was up at the same time well earlier at 6am after a crap nights sleep. Need to sleep so bad!

candr · 13/06/2011 19:03

Got whole bag of clothes from a lovely mum a school with some funky stuff up to 1.5 yrs. Had 15 week app today and baby was very naughty as every time she put doppler on to hear heart beat he literally chased it around my tummy and kept kicking it off. Very funny though! We were over organised and got nursery ready a month ago while I could still do stuff without having to pee every 10 min so have a cot bed that we have put at top height to use as changing table while baby is in moses basket. Had to give in and my some maternity work trousers and jeans - sooo comfey! Mother care has sale on nd trackie bums from JJB as they have 70% off at mo. have startd misjudging my size when closing doors or squeezing between kids in class - heads have started bumping of belly! Hope eeveryone else is doing ok and not too exhausted.

CrazyAlien06 · 13/06/2011 19:36

hey candr wow I havent had to be on the loo any more than usual yet... (am 24 weeks now) am waiting for that lol
you are very organised :)
I did order my first necessity for baby today -- a baby carrier :D had it in the checkout basket for ages then clicked pay and its all ordered yay :)
We can't start anything for nursery yet as its our only spare room and currently being used as an office (dumping ground!) for my teaching rubbish!
4 weeks until I finish and i can recycle /shred/bin it all yayyyyyyyyyyyy

LoveBeingAbleToNamechange · 14/06/2011 06:31

Hello all glad to see you are all starting to make those first purchases. I really need to have a serious look at what I can use from dd and what need to get. A friend had given me loads if stuff for dd, then asked for it back afterwards Sad. Am doing another load of eBay fir dd's clothes, it's heart breaking all the beautiful things that I can't use again without making a serious life changing decision for my ds Grin

I have got a few bundles from eBay do need to sort out what I want to keep and what I still need but tbh think I would be able to cope with what I have (shh don't tell dh)

Really need to buy a new cover for the car seat as it has a pink one, and double check the base as my car now has isofix.

I finsh work 5 weeks today and can't wait I hate it and am finding it really hard to get through the day. My mum wants me to get signed off. Things are just getting on top of me but must rise above it.

Hope everyone has a good week.

Lollyheart · 14/06/2011 08:44

Yuk, I've spent most of the nigh having stomach cramps and being sick, at one point I thought it was labour Hmm I think I ate to much yesterday Blush a Toby carvery opened near us yesterday so had a massive roast at lunch time and then a big dinner at tea time.

I don't work on tuesdays so I can have a lazy day.

8 weeks left at work, I can't wait!!

I know what you mean when you have lots of lovely clothes and can't use them again Sad I gave my sister all my girl and boy baby clothes, she thought it would be a good idea to pit them in her shed Confused they went all moldy so had to be chucked outSad

Valiant1 · 14/06/2011 08:54

We suposed to be going a Toby next Thursday night as we going away Friday but am thinking i may just be good and have a small dinner, As we going on the train and i am the person in charge of geting us from platform to platform aswell as having a 4 year old who can't behave!!!!! oh the joys xx

I went to the job center yesterday who ionsisted i carry on looking for work untill i am 29 weeks!! I told them its a waste of my time and any employers !!! i mean i get called in for a potental job and the interviewer sees that i am pregnant and that i wasting there time. they not going interview me after Christmas as its a bad impresion ..and breath ...

have fun all i going back bed lolxxxx

CrazyAlien06 · 14/06/2011 09:24

valiant I hate the job centre lol. I've been looking up online to see what I need to do to sort out what money I get off government and it says go to job centre . Nooooo I thought it terrified the life out of me last time ( not in a nice area!) and when they asked me my quals last time they ran out of space and the woman was spelling everything wrong I wanted to slap her lol.
I'm going to call up direct.gov today for more info as anything to avoid job centre . They are stupid to tell u to look for a job up to 29 weeks - common sense ! Doh! Sod them just enjoy your pregnancy, i can't wait to finish work, 4 weeks today!! Yay :D
I'm off to visit a special needs school today which should be interesting -am a bit nervous as there are alot of older years there so hopefully they ve done their h and s checks :s.

Anyone else sorted out what their entitlements are yet? Ive got 24 wk midwife appt tomorrow and haven't had any forms yet - I believe it's my MAT B1 form I need to apply for anything?

X

Lollyheart · 14/06/2011 09:30

Yes crazy you need a matb1 form, if you can't get smp you might be able to get maternity allowance, I've just sent my ma pack off, because I only work pt I don't earn enough to get smp.

CrazyAlien06 · 14/06/2011 09:35

Thanks Lola I'm totally confused as I'm covering a maternity contract teaching which ends in 4 weeks and when I work out the smp calculator online it says I get it but I didn't think I would as I'm not going back to work there and have only been there since January.....thats why im calling direct gov up and hoping they can help me. Also will see if mw can help me at all.
Does smp only get given if u are going back to work?

Soooo confusing lol

Lollyheart · 14/06/2011 09:42

I think you have to have been working for your employer for 26 weeks to get smp but I'm not 100% sure on that but you will still get smp if you dont plan on going back.

To get ma which is more or less the same thing you need to of worked 26 weeks out of a 66 week period, it's around £100 a week or if you earn less it's 90% of what you earn.
It is very confusing,

candr · 14/06/2011 18:57

I meant 25 week app not 15 week - head all over place just as well only have 7 weeks of school left. Handed in matB1 today.

Valiant1 · 14/06/2011 19:29

not sure about matb1 hun i know i need one for the new house we need :) Dh is taking over the jsa in july as i not alowed come of it till 29 weeks :(
and my job center is awful too the people look down on you then had a go at me the other week for going to sign on with my kids in tow! what was i suposed to do leave them home alone? any way i chilling out now hoilday soon and then shopping for baby things xx
