I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

candr hope you're okay - time always drags when you're waiting for news like this. A friend of mine had a measurement of 11 and they went to see a specialist in Bristol about a week later and the sonographer there got a much smaller reading that was within the range, so fingers crossed for you! x

I found out why dd was so tired and went to bed so early last night - at 9pm she was at the top of the stairs shouting "Mummy I need you, there are germs in my bed!" Hmmmm, I was rather dubious as she'd been making up dinosaur stories etc. I went to investigate and found she'd been very sick. Bless her. She's home with me today but you wouldn't know there was anything wrong with her. I didn't want her to pass it round nursery though - if she hasn't already. Fingers crossed I don't get it.

Valiant1 · 14/05/2011 17:53

hi all hope all ok? i have got thnrush again [grrrr] not amused keep getting pains in my belly at the bottom am going ring my midwife monday! just can't win one thing after another [grrrr] hope all have a fab week end x

LoveBeingAbleToNamechange · 14/05/2011 20:29

Is anyone else completely shattered? I am ready for bed at 4pm and even dropping off before that, dd's even been sleeping better this week and it's not helped. Do you think I should see the midwife?

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

summerpixie · 15/05/2011 11:42

I'm ok with tiredness, slowly getting back into 5 day weeks after the easter hols and BH. However, I am waking up at 3am EVERY morning! That most probably means 3am is feed time when baby arrives. She's getting me into practice. I am hoping that DS gets afternoons at Reception to start with in Sept so I can have a lie in.
Anyway, I started to have a bit of a worry as I cut up a fresh pineapple yesterday and could have actually eaten the whole thing. I restrained myself, but I was wondering if it was OK to consume large quantities of pineapple during 2nd Tri as it's supposed to help with bringing on labour. Maybe an old wives tale?

CrazyAlien06 · 17/05/2011 08:25

Hi valiant how did it go at mw? My scans Friday and soo nervous. I haven't had one urine test done yet, it's concerning me. It's a shocking service I have here, will be trying to change mw today. I'm mega busy at work and so tired.
Not been sleeping for weeks now :-( . Also haven't sold house so fed up I'll be stuck in this house with a baby :-(
Hope u are all feeling more cheerful!:)

PrincessScrumpy · 17/05/2011 17:55

Hope everyone is well. I seem to be now but hopefully consultant will confirm this on Thursday. Spent the weekend in hospital in Kent when we were visiting in-laws. They think I had a urine infection which gave me a temp and vomitting. After 2 hours of continual sickness, I began to get tightenings and dh called the local mw. They asked us to come in and found I was severely dehydrated and even the anti-sickness meds weren't stopping my sickness. Ended up with a drip and antibiotics.

I'm feeling fine but don't think babies will stay put until 37w cs - just want to reach 24w at the moment and even that seems a challenge. Poor dh spent most of the weekend watching me sleep! Bless him.

I'm hoping that's my bit of drama over for the pg. Went back to work today and feel fine but have been told to take it easy - boss knows this and is pg herself so what does she do? Send me an email saying "sorry to give you more work but......!" I was not happy as I've been off work since Thursday so am already behind. Part of me feels she's pushing me to see if I get signed off, but IO would be so bored at home and would probably end up nesting too much! Grrrr.

Valiant1 · 17/05/2011 19:02

Anyone else nesting already?

PrincessScrumpy · 17/05/2011 20:31

Definitely nesting but sometimes it's too much for me to do - in that case I order dh to do my nesting! Grin

CrazyAlien06 · 17/05/2011 20:48

CrazyAlien06 · 18/05/2011 20:35

Awww are u finding out what you are having then valiant?
I haven't slept through a whole night for weeks now am constantly shattered from it. Really scared about Friday now , I know the odds are on my side of everything being ok but still feel weird about it. just want it over and done with. I know it's out of my control if anything is wrong I just can't stay positive. Roll on Friday! It's going to be the longest morning ever and the longest car journey to hospital ever!
Class were a nightmare today just wanted to walk out and cry- my hormones are all over the place at the moment . I just feel so angry.

Has anyone got any helpful tips for sleeping through the night?!

Valiant1 · 18/05/2011 21:13

keep the cafine low after 5! i can't help i am seeing most hours on the clock if i am not waking up for the fun of it it is to pee lol xx hope you feel better soon and hope you have a better day in class tomorrow x friday will fly by x go for luch if you can that will break the wait up x

summerpixie · 18/05/2011 21:19

I wish I had some tips but I'm in need of a good nights sleep myself, crazyalien.

I still have a cough but it is subsiding now I am drinking apple cider vinegar. Bloody viruses! On top of that I have very very sore bits due to thrush. DH has been sent to get Yoghurt on his way home.

I'm sure girls cause the most problems in pregnancy. When I carried DS I was symptomless until PUPP but that was the only thing that caused any issue. With this one, I have had to have a CVS, have had a cough for 4 weeks, recurrent thrush, weakened pelvic floor, abdominal pains... whatever next. I wonder if all of you with problems are carrying girls, I know princess is and 2 of them... double the trouble?!

Good luck for Friday crazyalien X

CrazyAlien06 · 19/05/2011 07:10

Thanks for the advice and luck ladies :-) I'm hoping all is well tomoz then I can sleep as I never sleep when worried. DH was in a bad mood yday and still was this morning as didn't even say bye so that's wound me up even more. :( he made me feel like crap last night and I have to try to control my stress/anger so as to not travel through to baby but he doesn't realise that! Grrrrrrrrrrrrr. Roll on tomorrow (eeek!) evening when I'll know one way or the other if grub is ok.
On a more positive note I found out that my cousins fiancee is expecting :-) and is only 6-7 weeks behind me :D . All us cousins grew up together so im really hoping the same happens for our little ones even though we live further away now.

If my class are a nightmare today I swear I'll shout my head off at them! I have never known a class so rude and they are only 8! mrs evil teacher today hahaha

Hope u all have a great day x

LoveBeingAbleToNamechange · 19/05/2011 07:22

Sorry pixie ice had the same thing but the sex is the other way round dd was a dream completed to this monster, including amnio!

PrincessScrumpy · 19/05/2011 11:54

Summerpixie I've had a cough for over a week now and my pelvic floor has pretty much left the building - never had problems before this pg, even after dd was born.

I saw the consultant and had a scan today - 22w - girls are doing really well, I'm an emotional wreck. I thought I was okay until the consultant said "are you sure you're okay, you look really upset!" I didn't think I was upset but then promptly burst into tears. I think I'm just really tired and feeling ill with a cold. Consultant was lovely and signed me off fo a week. At first I didn't want to be signed off, I didn't think I was "that" ill but I've decided to go with it and rest. I wouldn't forgive myself if something happened to the babies so need to follow advice.

Good luck for tomorrow crazyalien

Valiant1 · 19/05/2011 20:38

good luck crazy xxxxx hugs too you princess xxxxx i am looking forward to 12pm tomorrow as i not in college till tuesday yay xxxx hope all are well xxx am currently prodding my belly as not as much movement today just had the laptop kicked of my belly lol i keep getting cramp in my "flaby previous baby belly" but only when i have been on my side and turning over, any one else getting wierd pains x

CrazyAlien06 · 19/05/2011 22:04

Thanks for the luck ladies. I don't think I'll be sleeping tonight!!

summerpixie · 20/05/2011 07:36

Hope everything goes well today CrazyAlien. Its horrible when you have that tense feeling all day until the scan. I got sent home from work yesterday as I had felt feverish. I slept all day and sweated a bucketload :( Not feeling particularly better today either so I won't be going in again. My consultant called me whilst I was lying in bed feeling sorry for myself when I got in yesterday, well she called the home phone which I couldn't be bothered to get up to answer then she called my mobile. I have to go in for an ECG today as GP suspects a heart mumur, which I have never had before :S

Sept 2011 babies are naughty babies causing us so much worry and pain!

CrazyAlien06 · 20/05/2011 07:44

Awww summerpixie hope you feel better soon and that everything is ok.
Well I was right no sleeping happened for me last night and a lovely long boring meeting with my head today before i can bugger off out of school for the scan.
I will update straight after scan if all ok which would be this evening but if not I'll leave it a few days xx

hope you ok crazy xx

paternal · 20/05/2011 21:26

Hello everyone,

So everyone should have done or be coming up to 20 week scan now. We had ours on Monday (actually 24 weeks now) and............. We are having a BOY! :) yay we both wanted a girl but just knew it was a boy. He's soooo crazy already, hyperactive, with really strong kicks. If he's anything like me, he's going to be a right little sod.

summerpixie · 20/05/2011 21:38

congrats paternal have you been out buying the Blue Outfits?

I do hope everything has gone OK with you CrazyAlien I'm hoping you've gone to catch up on your sleep. X

I won't get results for my suspected Heart condition until my ECHO appt comes through. The Dr at hospital thinks its unlikely I have anything serious, so I'm not worrying about it.
