I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

Hey Valiant, hope yr feeling better today. Have finally been feeling nudges over last few days (20+3 today) which I know is still early but was very impatient and had first proper kick just a DH got home so he could feel it too, very excited. Have 20 week scan tommorow (day of school, yipee) does anyone know if they will let you film it to show family especially if you pay yr fiver for still pics? Hope everyone elses scans go well.xx

Lollyheart · 11/05/2011 20:38

I'm to having extra scans, 28 and 34 weeks, I've never had to have extra scans with my other 3.
I saw the consultant yesterday because I had strep b in my last pregnancy, the consultant said they won't test me this time Confused and won't have anti bs.
I think I will buy a private test just for piece of mind.
The reason I'm having extra scans is because all my other dcs were only just 6lb, I guess I just have small babies but for some reason they want to keep an eye on the growth this time.

Valiant1 · 11/05/2011 20:43

not feeling to bad hun thank you hope your scan goes ok xx
I was on the bus coming home tonight and there was an old lady sitting in the seat at the other side of the bus and she was chatting away to her self she waved at me when i got on and said hello "Joyce". I thought nothing of it but all the way home she was looking at me and talking to someone and having a laugh (there was no-one there!) then through her mumbles i heard her say "oh Joyce she will be fine!" i am a bit freaked out as when she got of the bus she put her hand on my shoulder and said "bye take care, bye Joyce" she got of near to were my nan lived who was called Josephine but people called her Joyce. am very puzzled and worrid and feel more relaxed than i have since i lost my nan 7 years ago! just wanted to share that Smile x

CrazyAlien06 · 12/05/2011 19:12

i know its scary and exciting! This time next week I'll be soooooooo not sleeping lol. Talking of sleeping I am really struggling :( I have now 'popped' and cant get comfy so am going to purchase a dream genie I think, after scan of course, just to check everything is on course lol.

heart burn is driving me crazy, went to pharmacist to get gaviscon after work today so fingers crossed that will work!

no where in my local town does maternity clothes except matalan which is annoying as their range is tiny! I asked in one shop and they lady asked how far along I was and said I was tiny when I told her Angry mw did say that I would get that loads though.
I am finding it difficult to hid my bump now and I swear the kids in my class have an inkling,

hope you are all well x

Valiant1 · 12/05/2011 20:04

i have stuggled too hun but have found a mamas and papas out let so cheep yay x can you not go into a bigger town over the holidays or order on line x was going to go in college on a half day on the day of the scan but i won't be able to concetrate so going have a day off how naughty Grin

CrazyAlien06 · 12/05/2011 20:12

i have just ordered some jeans from next, if they are no good ill have to hit the shops Saturday!
I have pratically half a day on scan day as have to leave at 11 , and head told me today to arrange a meeting we needed to have for that morning so basically in for 2 hours :) sooo nervous!

PrincessScrumpy · 12/05/2011 20:58

crazyalien I got some casual stuff in Next which is comfy and I think looks nice, but my favourite stuff has come from www.jojomamanbebe.co.uk
DH treated me to a shopping trip in Exeter where they have a shop. For dd1 I went to Blooming Marvellous which I loved and have some fab stuff still wearable but they've closed as Mothercare bought them out.

I stayed home today as I have a cold and felt rubbish. I dragged myself in yesterday as I had 2 hours with a group of year 9s but decided that as today was a quieter day I would be good to myself and the babies and rest. Really needed it. DD1 was up a lot last night too but she crashed on the sofa at 6pm (usual bed time is 7.30!). Bit worried when she'll wake up in the morning!

Really wanting this pg to hurry up - want to get passed 24w now. I'm so impatient Grin

I have a hen do this weekend for an old friend - am suddenly nervous about seeing people I haven't seen for 11 years and being in my swim tankini at the spa looking like a whale!

candr · 12/05/2011 21:07

Hi, have put other post on preg page for advice as had 20 week scan today and they found a problem with the levels of fluid in the cerebral ventricals. They have a cut of limit of 10mm and ours ranged from 9.7 to 10.7 on different readings with 2 sonographers. Have to go back in 2 weeks to see if it changes as baby gets bigger but am very scared as MW admitted it could be possible brain damage if there is no change but she said not to worry - easier said than done. Has any one had this measurement prob before and what were the results good or otherwise? Everything else was fine and is def a boy. Princess, hope you feel better tommorow.x

CrazyAlien06 · 13/05/2011 07:08

candr hope you are feeling ok today. I don't know anything about what they found on your scan, but I'm sure your mw will be able to ease your fears? keep us posted. Is is worth having another private scan just to get even more opinions?x

NatzCNL · 13/05/2011 07:33

Candr, so sorry to hear about the scan findings. I know it's easier said than done, but try to stay calm. Quite often babies get fluid which just dissapears over time. May be worth booking in to see the consultant or your GP for a chat to go over the scan results before next scan, just so you have a clearer idea of what's going on? Or as CrazyAlien says, book in for a private scan if this is an option available to you.

Congratulations on finding out the sex! We had our 20 week scan on Wednesday but the little scamp wouldn't let us see if it was a boy or girl, got another sca in 3 weeks so may find out then.
Hello to everyone else x

lolajane2009 · 13/05/2011 07:33

i seem to finally be feeling better at 22 weeks. had 22 week appointment yesterday and I heard a huge bang on the doppler as i think the baby kick me during the examination. by the time i saw her i was half an our late for food and baby was annoyed and kicking me.

isnt that level of fluid only just below the lower limit anyhow? i'd wait the two weeks tbh or go for a private scan as crazyalein suggested.
