I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

Morning all glad all scans going ok. Any ones dh/p coming to them a day after an argument and started to say how dominering you being and bossy?
last night dh and sd were having a go at my son 8 so i went in and asked what wasgoing on. he was helping with dinner and was in the way but insted of just telling him go away they balled him out. dh was in a mood as sd was suposed to be cooking but kept shouting him in asking him what to do (dh has a hurt his hand feeling sensitive any way) so i thought we were sorted and he has got up this morning saying he is fed up of being dominated and i should back off. i feel pants any way but not don't want to come home tonight just want to run off and leave them too it! have had troubles before just thought we had sorted all this out! i just can't believe i can even think about leaving my 3 dc i feel so odd time is going so slow just want to curl up and cry.

PrincessScrumpy · 06/05/2011 15:49

Sorry to hear that Valiant. My dh knows I'm a control freak and knew it before marrying me so he'd probably describe me as bossy and dominering but he loves me for it. Tbh he realises he needs organising and I'm happy to do it. Being pg means the world revolves around me and I get whatever I want (within reason Grin)

Do you think you dh is feeling a bit stressed about it all - can you agree to give each other a night off each week before baby arrives? I mean completely off so no sorting bed time / tidying etc sounds like he just needs a bit of time to be him - would be good for you too. xx

Valiant1 · 06/05/2011 19:01

i talked to him and you are right hun we need time off, wish i wasn't so low i feel awful, was in college today and someone made a joke and we all laughed then i burst in to tears and had to go out of class!!!!! going see m/w monday see what she says i know we get emotional but bloomin ink x thanx princess hope you ok x

PrincessScrumpy · 06/05/2011 21:40

Big HUG Valiant. I think you need to stop being too hard on yourself - I suggest a tub of Ben and Jerry's... hmph, my freezer's empty Grin

I've cried over nothing lots - luckily not in public yet but I have a family wedding coming up. I get emotional anyway but the only reason my uncle is remarrying is because my Auntie died (10 years ago) very unexpectedly and tragically, leaving my 7-year-old cousin. Now 17 (obviously). So although I'm happy for him to have a new love in his life, I'm not too fond of his choice (my auntie's best friend who was all over him at the funeral). I really hope I can keep the tears hidden.

Hey valiant hope u are feeling ok today? sorry to hear you re having rough time. My DH has a good theory about rows (I kinda agree) everyday is a new day so start afresh. Which is fine if like last night when he was in a ratty mood( he did tell me he was in a foul mood) and was a complete d**k towards me!( telling me to not talk, sarcasm etc) then is fine in the morning. But doesn't work if he has been plastered and made a mess of house etc and kept me up all night so obviously I cant let that one go.

But try to stay positive, won't be long until you will both be totally besotted with your new arrival:-) I also find giving your DH a random hug can change their mood instantaneously!

sheenlane · 09/05/2011 11:54

Hi everyone, this is my first posting re September and also my first Mumsnet posting! I've been a lurker for a while, reading the different threads and hoovering up info but hesitant about actually posting.

I'm due 30/09/11 - this is my second baby - Mumsnet wasn't around when my first was born.

I'm having my next scan in late May when I'm a bit past 21 weeks (the NHS works in mysterious ways).

I've got a question - how come some women get scans at 28/29 and 34/36 weeks? A colleague at an old job got a 32 week scan - she wasn't high risk or anything at all. What is the criteria for getting scans after 20 weeks? Is it based on where you live? Any info on this would be gratefully received!

lolajane2009 · 09/05/2011 12:32

i get one at 36 weeks as my placenta is slightly low... i also might get one due to the chance of passing on a heart condition but dont know yet...

i have the dentist tomorrow for a check up and I am terrified... havent been for years and hoping that my recent vigilance has helped my teeth recover from years of depression and an eating disorder... well at least I've stopped putting it off now.

CrazyAlien06 · 09/05/2011 13:02

Hi sheena I have extra scans as part of a research study in Cambs.x

NatzCNL · 09/05/2011 15:06

Hi all, hope you are well. I have my 20 week scan on Wednesday (at 20+6 weeks), and am stupidly excited today after spending a few weeks dreading the thought of it! Also DD1 felt the baby this morning and got a big kick in the face, had us both in fits of giggles. DD2 has no interest in feeling baby but likes to stroke my tummy, think she just lacks patience!

Welcome Sheena, I am having extra scans at 24, 28 and 34 weeks but this is due to a heart defect that our lost baby had, more for peace of mind than anything else I think.

I hope everyone is doing well. Am enjoying the sunshine being back. Although got lots of work on so not getting much garden time. x

PrincessScrumpy · 09/05/2011 16:12

Hi Sheena, I'm having scans every fortnight as I'm having ID twins so pg is called high risk with a danger of one baby steeling all the nutrients from the shared placenta. At 20w scan the babies were the same size so looks good so far. DH bought me a DS so I won't get bored in waiting rooms as I have so many appointments and he cannot get out of work for all of them. So far I've turned up early to 4 appointments and each one has seen me instantly. DD1 has played on the DS far more than me!

Valiant1 · 09/05/2011 20:44

Hi all m/w went well took blood listened to baby x I am having extra scans at 28 and 34 weeks due to my high BMI even though its not that high any more . but i will get to see bubba extra so Grin hope all ok x welcome newbies, cant believe we half wat there!!!

summerpixie · 09/05/2011 21:09

Oh dear, Sept babies seem to be causing lots of extra scans! I am having extras at 32 and 36 as I had low PAPP-A in my triple test so baby will need to be monitored for possible IUGR which is reduced growth. She was on 75 percentile line on the scan last week though. Hope she doesn't have a HUGE head like DS does :S
I found out today one of my students has MUMPS! Hope I don't catch it. The perils of working in a school whilst pregnant.

Valiant1 · 10/05/2011 14:39

i have a bad head today really heavy and acheyat the front is this something to worry about or do i just need more rest? the cat bought us a mouse last night! it was still alive and running round then i was up at half six to get the bus to get into college for 9 am here till 4Sad. i think i may have a long bath tonight and chill x hope all ok only 13 days tomy next scan Grin
