I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

Congrats Lola!!! A little blue one for you Smile

Eastegg, I suffered with a severe pregnancy rash with my first DD for the last couple of weeks of the pregnancy, and think it was stress related as DP was very ill at the time and I had pre-eclampsia. I would advise getting the midwife and doctors to check it out to make sure it's not some kind of allergic reaction to something. Hope it clears up soon xx

Welcome Pumpkin, congratulations on your first bundle of joy! I suffered very bad with 'morning' sickness with both my DD's - felt totally awful for 14 weeks straight, luckily not had it this time for longer than 3 weeks. My mum suffered with morning sickness throughout all 3 of her pregnancies Confused
Feel free to ask any questions on here that you are worried/curious about. Pregnancy can feel a little scary the first time but there is lots of support on this site Smile

Hello to everyone else. Im 19 weeks today and finally getting my energy back, my house is slowly begining to look presentable again!!! x

Pumpkin81 · 28/04/2011 13:00

Thank you NatzCNL I know what you mean with no energy, I start a new job next week only 20 hours a week which I think is all I will manage at the moment! I only popped into town for a few hours yesterday and suffering today very tired and only just got out of PJs!! Should be doing house work but now arranged to go out to see a friend this afternoon! Think I need to make use of time off before I go back to work next week! House work can wait till tomorrow when DP can put a hand in too!!

Eastegg I had a rash on my bump I was using bio oil at the time and decided to try E45 and the rash has gone and I am no longer itchy so like NatzCNL suggested it could be a reation to a cream you may be using.

PrincessScrumpy · 28/04/2011 17:32

Congratulations Lola. Fab news.

I'm doing well but am so impatient for my scan next week. I've sort of set targets, so reaching 20w scan, then 24wk marker, and 30wks etc all seems so long off. I know it'll seem like it flew by but at the moment it's very tedious! I'm not a patient person - you may have guessed that. [cgrin]

Starting to get a bump but bloating is horrendous! I look 8 months at the mo through bloating but will be flat stomach again by morning! Crazy world.

Valiant1 · 30/04/2011 10:15

Morning ladies and bumps, have been feeling movement yayayayayayay lol my mum shouted when she was sat next to me yesterday and felt a right kick lol all movement has been at the side so far so am still thinking the placenta at the front and also i turned over in bed and had what i can only explain as cramp in my tummy for about 5 mins. was really scarey. any way house cleaning agian as my cat bought me a mouse yesterday and let it go in the house!!!!!!! not amused we have cought it just need to hover and disenfect now oh the joy Smile

lolajane2009 · 30/04/2011 10:49

You'll probably noticee more movement after the first ones as well. My son really loves to boogie, especially when he hears daddy's music. My music doesnt seem to be as good.

I am also on a mad cleaning spree but I cant stay up on my legs too long and some jobs hubby has to do so i have to get him off the computer to do them.

I thought I had a spare week from appointments the week after next but i missed one appointment in my notes so have to go out.

Pumpkin81 · 30/04/2011 11:31

Hi all I am just wondering if anyone has any good advice on lower back pain? I spent most of yesterday in bed with a rolled up towel under my lower back as can hardly walk and in absolute agony. I feel like it is just one thing after another and have not yet enjoyed any part of my pregnancy!! so much for after 14 weeks you will start to feel human again.....

It is funny though isnt it Lola you say you have to get hubby off computer I am same with DP I would have thought after a few weeks of saying the same jobs that need doing which he says he doesnt want me to do he may have realised he could just do them without me having to mention it!!

PrincessScrumpy · 30/04/2011 17:36

I had a terrible back with dd1 - hot water bottles helped and I had physio where the lady gave me a support band. My friend is having the same problems and is 24w - she had physio and was told to buy a band as they don't give them out anymore. I would buy one if I needed to though, it did help.

I had a bad back with dd1 from about 15w - this time I've had some twinges but nothing like last time. Very odd as I was expecting it to be much worse with the weight of twins (there's still time!)

Valiant1 · 30/04/2011 20:25

how many weeks are you princess? do u know what you are having? i have been talking names with a friend who has told me i can not have the name Abigail as she wanted that name for her son who is now 15 Confused was a bit sneeped actually. not that i know what i having yet but still have managed to twist dh arm into letting me have it Grin not sure for a boy yet! any ways going to watchthis daft film the dc have on (if i must)

LoveBeingAbleToNamechange · 01/05/2011 07:15

Hi all well our holiday was not very restful but then it can't be when you take a three yr old Grin

gp has given me anti b's for this cough that won't go, don't want to take them.

Looks like mum will be coming with me for my scan on fri as dh can't get the time off work. Keep your fingers crossed for me.

I have a really strange, strong feeling he will be coming earlier, still might drive me to get some stuff sorted at home.

We've also had our first presents for the baby! A travel cot and some boys clothes with a promise of more to come.

Hope eveyobe is well.

lolajane2009 · 01/05/2011 08:55

I'd have Abigail anyway tbh. she has no ownership on the name and if she wanted it she should have had another child.

I am feeling well but still waking up at 7am... pulled out my pre weight loss clothes so hopefully they will fit me till my son is born.

CrazyAlien06 · 01/05/2011 09:37

morning everyone :) no movements here yet :( and bump still not appeared! am trying to keep calm as was told wont show for a while as have stupidly long torso! less than 3 weeks until 20 wk scan so hopefully baby is ok in there, wherever he/she is!
Hoping everything goes well we are not finding out what we are having, we already have the name for a boy - William - after my DH and my FIL who sadly passed away in 08 (DH was only 24 was sooo sad ) even though there would be zillions this year lol
ive done naff all this bank holiday weekend :0) watched the wedding all the way through and eaten loads of bad stuff !

PrincessScrumpy · 01/05/2011 09:59

Hi Valiant I'm 19w - be 20w on Thursday and have scan then, but at 16 weeks I had a scan and sonographer thought one looked like a girl (the other had legs crossed but as they're ID twins, they should be the same). She wasn't positive so said not to buy pink yet. I really thought they were boys but now we've got used to it being girls so it'll be an adjustment to get used to boys again if that's what they say on Thurs. We don't mind which we have at all.

Has anyone decided on names yet? We have 1st names (I think but we did change our mind after dd was born and called her a name we'd said on honeymoon 3 years before), but we won't tell friends or family until after they're born.

Boys: Will and Finn
Girls: Heidi and Alice

We have a Lydia, 3, already.

CrazyAlien06 · 01/05/2011 10:18

Hey princess we re having a William (Will) if we have a boy ( see my previous post) x

lolajane2009 · 01/05/2011 11:38

little one is Edward Mihael ( I was gonna nickname him Teddy but I call him Edward every time)

lolajane2009 · 01/05/2011 11:39

lol Michael

candr · 01/05/2011 18:34

Hi am now 19 weeks and getting what may be the start of heartburn, funny lump in throat like when you need to be sick? Still no movement but sometimes have a pressure on bladder that I think might be baby moving about - can't wait to actually feel him. Have scan in a week or so and am very excited as will take parents as well as DH ( I was adopted so parents have never seen a scan) Have found it really hard choosing names especially ones that don't make me think of children I have taught over the years. Princess I am sure you can have identicle twins that are boy and girl, am an identicle twin myself and used to go to a - don't giggle - twins club, had lots of (non)identicle of both and same sex. Hope everyone else is progressing ok and not finding the heat too much x

CrazyAlien06 · 01/05/2011 18:44

hey candr I am suffering from heartburn aswell :( am 18 wks today.
That's lovely that you are taking your parents as well as your DH, mine don't live near me so wouldn't be able to pop along.

I agree with the name situation, being a teacher myself! Its difficult to not be thinking of 'that' child with the same name lol

Hope that the scan goes well, got a few weeks until mine :( very nervous about it as have no bump yet x

candr · 01/05/2011 18:49

Hhe kidsey Crazy, I was flat tummied for ages then it just popped out just in time for the announcment letter that went out at school - was asked if I had been 'strapping in my bump' to not show??? Only 11 weeks of teaching left till summer, am looking forward to it but will really miss the kids and strange to think of someone else having my classroom. Do your kids at school know yet?

CrazyAlien06 · 01/05/2011 18:55

hey, nope kids dont know yet, I am only on a temporary maternity cover contract so only been there since Jan and finish at end of the term :)
I don't want the kids to know for as long as I can get away with it which at the moment is going rather well.
When did you 'pop' out?
I am hoping that my headteacher doesn't announce it in any newsletter as I am only temp so feels wrong.

I am looking forward to finishing teaching for a while as current school is not the best, I am an NQT so am desperate to get that finished before I leave. I have lots of unnecessary observations which stress me out all the time :(

PrincessScrumpy · 02/05/2011 19:28

candr definitely can't have id twins that are boy/girl (that wouldn't be indentical as one would have a willy). I'm an ID twin myself and as the babies are made from one agg and one sperm, the sex has to be the same. They will be genetically identical, from hair colour and eye colour to sex organs and face shapes.

Getting to a really busy term a school and can't wait until it's over, but it's going to be manic first. I'm kind of ignoring it but I don't think that'll work. Last week all the year 10s wanted to talk to me a break and lunch time so I didn't get a break all day - can't cope with that!
