I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

Natz - the kitchen roll wasn't empty so he's going to try again when it is! Bless him. He's felt them move lots and loves it as it tends to be in the evenings. dd1 would move in the early hours and he got a bit fed up after 4 weeks of me waking him to feel her move. I actually quite like her doing it though as I would wake up smiling.

Is anyone else wishing their pg away? I just want to be on the final stretch 24w+. I know it'll come quickly but seems a long way off. I really want to be walking out of the hospital with two carseats and two babies. They will be a wonderful day. I'm not a very patient person! Grin

summerpixie · 19/04/2011 22:32

Oh I feel just the same Princess. I want to get to the 24 week mark and feel a little relief. I think the long wait between 12 and 20 weeks is a killer. It's a bit of the unknown as symptoms subside and you don't really get the kicks until post 20 weeks in 1st pg. Getting to 12 weeks seems like nothing now thinking back on it but the past 6 weeks have been agony! 2 weeks to go until my next scan.
I have developed a blasted cough coupled with hay fever which makes driving pretty difficult at the moment as my eyes are itchy and I keep having coughing fits (along with weakened bladder! Bump has grown the past week and bladder is being pushed against!). I will persevere with Manuka Honey and Cavonia lozenges and hope that tree pollen will disappear soon so my hayfever can get a break from it.

WaspsAnkles · 20/04/2011 09:26

Haven't been on here for ages, apologies.

Got 20 week scan tomorrow and am in weird limboland between utter excitement and worry. Not that I have any particular reason to be worried as nothing as such has happened but having ridiculous dreams about missing limbs etc.

Also slightly concerned that private scan we had at 16 weeks which revealed that we are having a boy might have been wrong. Have only just gotten used to the idea of a little DS.

Is it unusual to feel kicking quite early on? This is my first and started feeling kicks and punches by about week 17. Not long after we could also see him kicking on my bump. By now he's kicking all the time (have counted well over 50 a day last weekend and hadn't even started counting until lunch time).

candr · 20/04/2011 18:29

Princess, hope things perk up for you, did the kitchen roll work as my DH is desperate to try in 3 weeks. Got to hear heart beat at MW app which was lovely and reassuring as was tempted to buy doppler - when I saw the trouble she had findng it I am glad I didn't as would prob be in tears of panic daily. Can't wait to feel baby and even more for DH to be able to share that but am only 17+3, hope the rest of you are having feet up in the sun (under shade) and pigging out on ice lollies.

Valiant1 · 20/04/2011 19:27

Crazy how did things go hun xx I have been exepted on a Customer service course for the next 4 weeks so that will help count down to the next scan, only trouble is it an hour on the bus there and back at half 8 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon :( have had a lovely ttime with the kids this week mainly eating funny feet!!!!!!! have been looking for them twister ones am going asda tomorrow (am i alowed to name them?) oh well hope all ladies and bumps are doing well xxx

lolajane2009 · 20/04/2011 20:09

ohhh please don't mention funny feet... they are one thing that i crave. that and lager shandy.

my scan is a week today and strangely i feel like someone is going to op up at the scan and say this is a big joke... got some cloth nappies through today and slowly stocking up on stuff ready for newborn. only got two items left from my clothing list to get... a pair of booties and a cardigan.

is it normal for my baby's movements to range from a fluttering when I lie on my back to an almighty kick if I dare to sleep on my side and dare to sleep after about 7?

PrincessScrumpy · 20/04/2011 21:27

I've had some hilarious comments/questions during my bleed issues (all fine so fingers crossed).

Gynacologist (who was trying to find out why I was bleeding): "What contraception are you using?" dh and I looked at each other not knowing how to answer. I ended up saying "Nothing as we were ttc so we felt contraception would get in the way and now I'm pg with twins it seems unnecessary."

After the bleed I spoke to mw who was trying to advise no sex. However, she really struggled to say "sex" and ended up - after much umming and errring - managing "making errrrr you know love". Seriously, we are grown adults. I really feel a mw should be able to say sex!

Do the Easter holidays have to end? DD1 is being sooooo good I'm loving spending time with her.

If anyone needs a car seat and wants isofix, Mothercare has the isofix bases half price (down to £60) id you buy a car seat.

PIL are visiting from tomorrow for the weekend. DH is tidying - I really don't care, they can take us as we are. House is lived in but not immaculate but dh is working lots and I'm pg so stuff it.

CrazyAlien06 · 20/04/2011 23:12

Hey everyone hope u are well. My 16 wk appt went well different mw which was fab :-)
Heard heartbeat within about ten seconds of her putting the Doppler on! Strong heartbeat of 155. DH surprised me and turned up to appt to :D and recorded the heartbeat on his phone.

Have booked a two night break to Barcelona over May half term as DH has taken that week off :-) probably last break till baby's here:( I have web invited to Dubai but don't fancy it when I'll be 7 months as want to do my usual stuff out there- skiing, water park etc. It's killing me not having a holiday in the Summer to look forward to!

Looks like I may have a bump coming :-) pains in lower abdomen today and it's hardening on my tummy!

I have been rubbish and done no work this holiday and have sooo much too do!

How are u all doing in this weather? I've noticed I tan really easily it's lovely :-)

X

PrincessScrumpy · 21/04/2011 10:02

DH tried the kitchen roll tube - it actually worked and he heard a heart beat! He was so excited as he missed the mw app at 16 weeks when I heard them.

Loving the sun - off to the beach today at Lyme Regis, fish and chips for lunch. Yum!

Valiant1 · 21/04/2011 17:05

Well ladies what a day! was at the hospital nice and early for my app sat there an hour before going in. When we got in we sat there 5 mins and he was like you can go now!!! I was like but you haven't looked at my leg! (i have a swollen leg and v-vains and a bakers cyst. midwife panicking about dvt) any way he looked at my leg sent me for a scan its all clear no dvt! yay am pleased then he says the pain i getting in my leg at the top front is normal for big people!!!! then he says get on the bed i will listen to baby ......he couldn't find a heart beat!! DH wasn't there i was so upset he just asked the nurse to get me a emergency scan and a heart beat came was soooooooo relieved!!!!! by this time i had been there 3 hours and was really getting sick of this bloke who didn't seem to know what he was doing! all i could hear on the thing was a whooshing sound. then had to go Asda it was heaving spent far too much and am sitting with my feet in the pool what a day am ready for bed it's only 5pm....

candr · 21/04/2011 21:34

Pleased it worked princess, look forward to trying it, Valiant, sounds like a hell of a day, incompetent Dr's are a nightmare and you think they would understand how a pregnant person feels. I had to deal with one for blood test as have collapsing veins and often pass out, I did warn him but he took several painful goes without getting blood then made me stand up and leave at which point I keeled over and came to with him throwing water on me asking me not to tell anyone that he had forgotton to let me lie down. Am not having baby at that hospitle thankgoodness. Am loving the sun and may well visit beach at weekend, if I put my feet in my pond the fish nibble them and I think they scare the newts away. x

Valiant1 · 24/04/2011 14:03

How are we all doing ladies and bumps? am cooking dinner for three children who have had far too many easter eggs! still no movement from a sort of rounding bump! oh well better go mash potatoes hope we you all have a good week x

CrazyAlien06 · 24/04/2011 18:47

NatzCNL · 25/04/2011 13:29

Hello all, hope you have been making the most of this gorgeous weather and long weekend! We have hardly been home, picnics, parks and friends makes a very happy easter.

Im 18 + 5 today, the past 3 weeks have flown past. Baby is also disco dancing Lola, especially at meal times and chill out time. DP has felt baby a few times now, but DD's still cant make out the wriggling sensation.

Smile
lolajane2009 · 25/04/2011 13:37

I think the baby likes hubbys music more than mine... will have to have words if it prefers country music.

it's hard to describe the way it feels. my hubby can't feel the baby moving yet... i dont think he has the concentration you need.

I think I might have to see the doctor... i am getting severe pain when I walk for too long... its a bit like carrying a bowling ball between my legs.

Valiant1 · 26/04/2011 10:46

Owch lola !! Would see him see what he says x

Well am feeling really odd today. I have been up with tooth ache all night in my wisdom tooth that the dentist wil not remove and at 3 am i caved and took a ibrofen and now feel so guiltyits unreal Sad [worrid]. to top it off have waved my 8yr old son off on a camping holiday with school! he has never been away from me since he was born i am in a real mess. hubby says all i do on here is moan and i am so sorry x

Hope you are all doing well xx
still no movement either!!!!!

PrincessScrumpy · 26/04/2011 20:29

Valiant - it's safe to take co-codamol or any codeine tablet if that helps. I have had 2 weeks wearing birkenstocks but wearing shoes to work after the Easter Hols was another story. I thought my toe was healed, apparently it's not and after 2 hours I was in agony and had to put some open toe sandals on (which I had to explain to the H&S manager and get written permission for). Was seeing doc today anyway so mentioned it and he said it's definitely broken. I'm back on the codeine. :-(

I am spending this whole pg moaning but only on here and to dh, so my friends and colleagues only see me happy and cheery and think my pg is a breeze.

Valiant1 · 26/04/2011 20:50

thanks princess will sent hubby to find some what strenght co- codamol i think i have some of those xx hope you toe heels soon xx I doing the same how wierd lol everyone thinks i coping soo well i don't looked stressed in the slightest i have a 4 year old who has reverted back to wanting a 'blanky' and taking it every were with him! A 5 year old 'princess' that is soo dramaticle that the wrong colour shorts could bring a kingdom to rack and ruin. and a 8 year old whom has skipped a few years and is being renamed 'Kevin' lol as for my dsd she as teenagery as they come ad turned into a caveman. 'urr' but to the out side world we amazingly calm and happy go lucky lol i wish!!! wow feel better now lol xx

eastegg · 27/04/2011 11:05

Hi everybody, I've not been on for ages. Really distracted with a work issue that's going to rumble on for a few weeks yet, also we were away over Easter up north at my parents. How amazing was the weather? Just an idyllic weekend really, was so sorry when it ended. Anyway we're off on holiday on Saturday, spending royal wedding day packing.

Think I've just started to feel baby move, just a little flutter over last couple of days. Had really obvious movements a while ago which I decided were wind, MW said oh no it's not too early to feel movements but then I worried because I hadn't had them for ages! Think this is actually the baby now. Eek! I'm just over 17 weeks.

This is qiute trivial really but my main prob at the mo is I've got really itchy, inflamed skin, all over bump and sides, arms, and top of neck/jaw. It's doing my head in. I am prone to this sort of thing and don't know how much is PG related. Could be stress which can trigger my ezcema.

Hope everyone else's ailments are on the mend. Good luck with upcoming scans!

lolajane2009 · 27/04/2011 13:59

scan went well. evereything looked fine and she said head was fine but when I looked at notes it was on the larger side... absolutely over the moon it is a boy.

Valiant1 · 27/04/2011 14:21

Yay a boy congrats Lola and family xx how exciting xx i have to wait till the 23rd of May.

Pumpkin81 · 27/04/2011 15:18
