I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

Congrats G1nger. Welcome to the thread. I think there are two threads for Sept but the other was so bust we made our own one.

lolajane2009 · 31/03/2011 13:19

just had 16 weeks appointment with midwife and heard heartbeat. still finding it amazing baby is in there.

also started to show this week and just in time for in laws to come down with their daughters.

summerpixie · 03/04/2011 08:52

One more week to drag! Then a nice 2 week break.
I had a GP check up last week and he was unable to find baby's HB. However, I think it is pretty much down to technique (and there is a lot of fat insulating baby!) and he was unable to find it a few weeks back but the scan showed baby was fine. My boobs are getting huge and hurt very much still :( I don't recall this much pain last pregnancy.
So, tomorrow is results day for all London parents waiting for Primary school allocations. I have applied for all schools OUT of my catchment area due to work. My parents live in the neighbouring borough and help with childcare but I very much doubt DS will get into their local school. Nevertheless, miracles can happen and there is always the waiting list (or private... which pains me to say). Also, our local primary is not very good in terms of VA so I left it out totally.
Anyway, here's to speeding up time until the 20 week scan for everybody. Hopefully everyone has had their 12 week scan by now. Hope your weekend with I-L's wasn't too painful lolajane.

Hello all

I'm due sept 8th and have been seeing this thread pop up quote a lot but due to various reasons has taken me a while to get my head around this pg. Already have a dd who is three. Also sil is due a couple of weeks after me with her first.

lolajane2009 · 03/04/2011 09:18

thankfully my in laws are wonderful, although sister in law reminded me to tell doctor that both my nieces heads were in the 95th percentile. even more concerning as she is 5ft 7 ish and i am 5ft 2 ish

Valiant1 · 03/04/2011 10:23

NatzCNL · 04/04/2011 21:24

Hope you both feel better soon Valiant and Lola, I had my 1st proper movement last night, definately not tummy rumbles. Was so excited as been having 'bubbles' for a few days but last night was definately baby and not wind!!! Am 15+4, but both my DD's were making themselves known around this stage too.

Hope everyone is well. Just found out DD1 got into our first choice for primary school, very very happy!!! Grin

Valiant1 · 04/04/2011 21:58

Yay on the school intake my ds2 will find out soon which one we got, hope its the same as the other two xx just watching one born every minuet. how cute is that baby xxx

NatzCNL · 04/04/2011 23:10

Good luck with your DS2 school result - would be ridiculous if not the same one as your older 2. I just got home from work, having my soup then off to bed to see if baby wants to do any more wriggles for me. I was obsessed with one born every minute a few months back, although I found some of the midwives a bit too far removed from what was going on. The midwives that cared for me with my 2 DD's were so lovely and involved. Even managed to get a tear from our first one, probably because DP and my mum were both sobbing buckets and I was grinning from ear to ear.
Cant wai to tell my girls that there is a baby on the way. Have you told your DC yet Valiant? I dont know when is the 'right' time, even though I know they will be so excited as have been asking for a baby brother or sister for some time now... Hmm

candr · 05/04/2011 17:16

Am 15+2 and can't wait to feel baby, think it may take longer as it is 1st. Well done on primary schools ladies, weight of yr minds. Have found 1 born really useful for giving me a clearer idea of what to expect when at hospitle ie waiting around with nurses popping in and out and hours of being 2-3 cm. Hadn't occured to me that exminations might be painful. Really hope I don't end up being a 45 hourer. Always feel emotional when they have the baby though and it has shown my husband what not to say i.e. my feet hurt or I have a headache etc x

chelstonmum · 06/04/2011 08:33

Hi everyone, couldn't find thread for a while, think mums net may have been hiding it! :)

Well great to see so many good scan results. I have my 16week midwife app today (oh how I hate peeing in a cup!). Im sure I look about 20weeks gone, the bump is taking over. How is everyone else finding the 2nd trimester?

lolajane2009 · 06/04/2011 08:46

I'm absolutely exhausted. Massive bump is making it hard for sleep to be comfortable too.

Valiant1 · 06/04/2011 08:56

Told my dc at about 8 weeks as we have an older sc living with us and she is a bit of a live wire to say the least so told her first on her own . The other dc were like ok what ever now they wont shut up about it "is it todaymum?" "no" oh when then ?" how many weeks etc so wish i haddnt now but everyone talking about it so they would have herd any ways, i think if i could go back i would wait til i was 20 weeks as then could tell them its a girl or boy as well, oh well its done, am gutted as still no bump and no movement and had thrush and now errosion on my cevix so not a great start to the secondtrimester but getting there. my friend has started buying things for baby i was like ok tanks hun xx should i start yet then lol? we got rid of all of our babby stuff last year so should start thinking really... well better go clean my house up looks like ww4 happend in the night xx speak later ladies x

PrincessScrumpy · 06/04/2011 18:37

Hi lola I'm exhausted too. Poor dh has broken some ribs playing football and it's given him a chest infection. He's still going to work (against doc's advice) and I'm not sympathetic - I just said "huh? I've felt rubbish for 10 weeks!" Luckily he loves me Grin

I loved being pg with dd but am not enjoying it this time much - makes me really teary. I want to enjoy it as it's my last pg! Really been crying over nothing - poor dh, bless him.

LoveBeingKnockedUp · 07/04/2011 07:40

I am so shattered, I don't remeber being this tired with dd but then I didn't have her to look after as well.

chelstonmum · 07/04/2011 11:21

Oh princessScrumpy the crying must be all those extra hormones from two babies! I have not seen past 9.30pm since January, im hoping that I may make 10pm in the summer!

PrincessScrumpy · 08/04/2011 19:41

Ended up in A&E this afternoon - tried to see my GP, then tried drop in centre and it was a last resort. Stupid injury - I stubbed my toe last night and the agony I was in kept me up all night. Sounds so pathetic but paracetamol wasn't touching it as it's really swollen and the pressure behind the nail was unbearable. They've given me stronger pain killers that are safe when pg - co-codamol - and they are working but may make me drowsy (hmmm not sure I'll notice the difference!).

They told me it would be a 2 1/2 hour wait at least. I was in so much pain I sat sobbing in the waiting room (dd had fallen asleep so was in her pushchair). Got seen in 30minutes. Looks like crying works - although I really couldn't stop myself. So unlike me. At one point I went in the loo so I could have a proper cry without being completely embarrassed. I overheard a conversation between an old couple who said "it's misleading as everyone looks so healthy... oh, well apart from that lady." Yes, I was that lady.

DH was at work and couldn't get out so called a friend to come and meet me. By the time she made it I was in the pharmacy getting the pills. She came home and helped with dd's dinner.

I feel like such a wimp as it's only a toe - not sure I'll even admit it to my parents!

PrincessScrumpy · 08/04/2011 19:46

Oh and I saw mw yesterday - definitely not upset I won't see her again. She freaked out as she was missing a blood test result. I told her they were all fine as the consultant told me the results last week, but she wasn't happy with that. After 15minutes of faffing she found it and I discovered it was the HIV test - negative - oh well there's a surprise (not). Then, as dh wasn't there, she went on and on about domestic violence. Anyone who knows dh would find that laughable. He would never raise a hand to me or even be mean with his words.

Basically, mw thinks I've got HIV and a dh who beats me. What a lovely image I must give off!

Valiant1 · 08/04/2011 20:20

oh Princess hugs hun xx my midwife the same i on baby no 4 5th for dh and she asked on our book in what contraception we are going to use when baby here lol x Gives you more reason put your feet up Smile
Had a good day today been shopping and bought some trousers size 20 .. have lost 2 dress sizes since Jan and feel amazing but am 15+ weeks and no bump Sad will be moaning when i 35 weeks lol butjust had enough of feeling and looking frumpy as my 5 yr old dd said to me today!!!! oh well am going in the tub xx Have a lovely week end xx

summerpixie · 09/04/2011 07:35

Oh dear princessScrumpy Hope your toe isn't as painful today. When I ended up in A&E a few weeks back I hated it there. You were lucky to be seen in 30 minutes. I waited over an hour :( to be told the same thing as you: Here have some paracetamol or co-codamol!

Anyway, it is finally end of term and we have 2 weeks off! DS got a place at 4th choice school which we have accepted and on the waiting list for the other 3 schools above it. No point in kicking up a fuss about things we have no control over and no valid points to argue in an appeal. It is less stressful to wait on the list besides the school DS got into is a good school.

I sent off my jury summons reply asking for deferral 2 weeks ago and have not heard back from them at all. Has anyone had experience of this? I have emailed them but as it's the weekend I won't get a reply untl Monday now and I've been fretting about this all night. Pregnancy brain makes me forget so much stuff I need to do, which can only usually be done when I am at work which makes it even more difficult to remember!

Hope everybody has a nice Easter break and enjoys the sunshine (and long may it last). Big hugs for everyone feeling pants.
