I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

hello, haven't been on this thread for a while - haven't been ignoring you all just didn't see it and thought it had disappeard!

So I'm 16 weeks which means my due date is 5th september and have my mw app on thurs, has anyone else had theirs yet or am I the early bird of the group?!
Not sure what to expect from it really, I've lost all pregnancy signs except bump (which others are noticing and exclaming about!), bad farts, back ache and tiredness. I'm not being sick any more but do sometimes still have crampy pully feelings in my tummy - I've heard that this is due to stretching?

anyway good luck all :D x

PrincessScrumpy · 21/03/2011 17:18

Welcome back Jazz. My back has started to hurt - sciatica type pain which I had with dd1. Unfortunately I still have the sickness but it's getting better. Happy my bump looks like a bump now.

jazz412 · 21/03/2011 17:27

sciatica?
How many weeks are you? (could read back through and find out but I'm far to lazy!)

it's nice to have a bump and not just look a bit chubs!

summerpixie · 21/03/2011 20:02

Glad your scans went well Natz and valiant. Sonographers are like MW's Valiant. Some are really nice and some are real dragons!
Today, one of my cheeky Year 8 girls left a folded up sheet of paper on the table at the end of the lesson. The class had all left and my colleague was in the classroom with me waiting for her class. I thought it was a bit of rubbish from the lesson so I opened it up to check and the lil runt had drawn a pregnant woman with 'ARE YOU PREGNANT MISS?' 'ARE YOU' 'ARE YOU' written all over it! My colleague burst out laughing at it. I don't really want to announce it to my classes until I get to 20 weeks but it really is hard denying and hiding it. However, I think I had consumed too many carbs and was bloating today rather than baby bump.
When did/do you plan on announcing it large? A friend on FB has announced being pg but is due end of OCT so can only be about 8 weeks the most! Personally, I think the later the better especially as I had that awful scare with combined results last week. I mean, how can you explain your decisions, whatever they may be, after announcing publically so early on?
Anyway, sorry to have waffled again. Welcome back jazz and I'm 14+2ish. Due anywhere around 14-19th Sept but hopefully earlier to catch the year above at school.

Froggy81 · 21/03/2011 20:17

Hi jazz!

Haven't been on the forum for a while either. Am due 1st of September, talk about early bird! had my 16 week app with midwife and can't say that anything transcental happened apart from listening to the baby's heart bit! That was exciting! Apart from that, we just discussed the blood results as I'm not immune to rubella.

Hope all goes well for you all!

CrazyAlien06 · 21/03/2011 20:39

Yay glad scan went well Valiant :D x

Valiant1 · 22/03/2011 09:01

Thank you am feeling realy good today am going to gut my house yay i feel normal lol mu best friend says i have ocd lol i don't think i 'm that bad well will be on later ladies xx

jazz412 · 22/03/2011 09:48

I wish we could have more appointments, I want to see our bean every week lol

I'm getting quite a few crampy feelings - I've been told it's stretching but I'm really paranoid! Anyone else had this?

What is the cut of point for what year their in at school? I don't think I want mine to be one of the youngest, due 5th Sept - will I have to cross my legs?!

xx

NatzCNL · 22/03/2011 10:10

Hi Jazz, is this your first baby? With my first pregnancy I had lots of cramps due to the uterus growing. It becomes less painful as the baby gets bigger - I have no idea why?! But even this time with my 3rd baby I still get the odd stretching cramp. If it gets unbearable or any spotting then contact your midwife imediately. Otherwise, enjoy feeling your baby get bigger, and bigger.... lol! Grin

If your baby is due the 5th Sept and comes after the 31st Aug he/she will be the eldest in the year, if born on the 31st Aug or before, will be the youngest. Close call - here's hoping baby stays put till the due date xx

jazz412 · 22/03/2011 10:18

yep first baby! I had a suspected mc last year it was all v odd and had a lot of cramps with that so I guess that's why I'm paranoid (don't count as first 'cos I'm not even sure if it was...)

it's not unbearable at all, v mild and not sharp (unless I twist quickly which is a different kind of pain). I haven't had any spotting I just keep getting weird sensations!

I'm hoping bean stays put! It's not the be all and end all though!

NatzCNL · 22/03/2011 10:46

The first few months are very worrying especially with a first pregnancy because you just dont know what to expect. I would liken the stretching cramps to mild period like pains. I had a wonderfully toned tummy with my first (ah, the days gone by), but after two babies my tummy muscles just dont support my growing bump as they used to, so I find I get stretching pains now when I lay on my side.

I also get the twisting pain, after a while twisting just doesn't happen...! Ha ha.

Once you begin to to feel the baby move all the worries about stretching pains just disappear. I felt both my daughters for the first time at around 16 weeks, so I am really wishing away the next 2-3 weeks as I am hoping this one will be an early flutterer. He/she didn't stay still throughout the scan yesterday.... Smile

jazz412 · 22/03/2011 11:45

:) our scan seems like so long ago now, was only a month!
I hope I feel him/her soon then - bean was a right wriggler on the scan - I couldn't believe how much it moved! spinning around! one of the scan pics look like he/she's doing night fever dance!

eastegg · 22/03/2011 12:31

Hi everyone, glad some more scans have gone well. Froggy you and I must be the earliest and the latest due on this thread, I'm not due until 2nd October according to scan, haven't had the nuchal thingy yet because baby turned out to be so young (must have ovulated late I think!). I'm 12+2 today, going back for nuchal next week. My next scan after that will be really late compared to most as my hosp don't do it until 23 weeks.

summerpixie I'm definitely of the 'later the better' camp when it comes to announcements. I don't want to tell work until as late as possible. Announcing on FB at 8 weeks sounds a big no-no to me.

I've had some stretching pains too, just last night.

G1nger · 22/03/2011 12:38

Hello. I'm due in September, too - the 24th. It's my first child. Mine too wriggled about loads on the scan, before falling asleep half way through. I get a lot of little belly pains, but nothing too bad. My fatigue has lessened substantially by week 13 (in fact, before that) and I never had much by way of nausea. I'm still an extremely picky eater but there are some signs of this going away again. Apart from that, I'm based in London and my partner and I are both very excited.

jazz412 · 22/03/2011 13:16

I am so tired.

PrincessScrumpy · 22/03/2011 17:05

Me too Jazz xxx

CrazyAlien06 · 22/03/2011 19:13

me three!
Im 12+ 2 and getting killer backache in the evenings :( waking up and can barely get out of bed! I have always had back problems but this is quite bad.
Also found out chicken pox is in my school today, called docs and spoke to duty doc who said as long as I have had it il be ok, then other people at the school said thats not true as their kids have had it more than once!
Tried to call mw but she cut my call off! I text her but no reply- bloody useless! no idea whether I should be worried or not!

roll on 20 week scan only 8 weeks to go lol

oo on a positive note my house went on the market today :0) got one viewing already booked for Thursday , hopefully it will sell really quickly as want to get moved!
x

Froggy81 · 22/03/2011 19:51

That's so brave CrazyAlien06! We were going to put ours on the market but decided to wait until baby's born!

Feeling less tired since yesterday and bump seems to have suddenly appeared since the weekend. Well I just look as if I have a beer belly at the moment. Grin

CrazyAlien06 · 22/03/2011 19:55

yeah its scary, especially as they reckon it will sell really quickly and the new house I want wont be ready until July/August! arrrghhhhhhhh

jazz412 · 22/03/2011 20:07

we're also looking to move around that time crazyalien! maybe a bit earlier if we're lucky.
It's really nice to have a bump that just doesn't look like I'm chubs :)

lisamarie1000 · 22/03/2011 20:12

Hope all you mums/mums to be are ok and not feeling too ill or tired x

PrincessScrumpy · 22/03/2011 20:34

Hi crazy - my sciatica is playing up (had it with dd) so I'm dreading how bad it'll get later on in pg as this time I've got dd1 to care for too.

My mw is useless. At the 12 w scan the sonographer asked if my mw had spoken to me about the changes in my care due to id twins. I said I'd left her a message to tell her and she didn't call so I figured I'd carry on as usual and attend the 16 week meeting with her as planned. Apparently that is not what will happen and she should have been in touch. On the plus side, I won't have to see her again as I will be under full consultant care from 15 weeks (next Thurs is 1st appointment) and will be in for checks and scans every 2 weeks after that.

DH has bought me a DS for my birthday (not had it yet as I've not had my birthday). The plan is for me to play on it while I wait for appointments as DH won't be able to attend them all and as much as I love out-of-date celeb mags there's a limit to how many I can read!

PrincessScrumpy · 23/03/2011 18:31

jazz just saw your question - I'm 14 weeks tomorrow (ID twins are making me look about 24 weeks though!) All out front with my bump so no hiding it!

AnnNonMouse · 23/03/2011 19:04

id twins!! eeee! firsts?
(btw namechanged - still Jazz!)
stupid Q alert: how do they know their ID now? do they share something that non ID do?

AnnNonMouse · 23/03/2011 19:07

ooohhh AND we brought a cheapy dopppler on amazon (about £20), got it today and heard the heartbeat for the first time!! Amazing!
Well worth it for so little money because now we can hear it whenever we like/family can hear it too!
DPs face was a picture Grin
