I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

Morning everyone :) glad to hear scans went well for peeps :D two days until mine. Very nervous and to add to the stress of Thursday just found out I've got visit from done Ofsted dude about 45 mins before I leave school for hospital!arrrgh! School don't know I'm preggers ( supposedly 12 weeks today!) but the head wants to talk to me about the observation today. I'm going to dmsay that I may not be 100% focused as I have a very important appointment! To be honest I don't care about the observation lol. I am happy to mess it up through worry about the afternoon . Terrible attitude but my life has always been about teaching and for once I have something way more important to worry about! Certainly no sleep for me weds night!
I'm off to NQT course this morning! Boring!
Hope u peeps have a lovely day xx

Natz I am due on Sep 25th, so your birthday!

As for the weight/bump issue, I already put weight on before the BFP, due to xmas Blush and the MW weighed me at the booking in, told me as I was 31 BMI I have to have a glucose tolerance test. Hence I have a small bump which is layered in chub. Wearing mat jeans or a size 18 (usually I'm 16) cos I cannot stand anything tight on my tummy. But dentist told me to cut out sugary snacks yesterday so if I do that I may not reach the size of a small house...

NatzCNL · 16/03/2011 10:18

Just wanted to send a big hug to Summerpixie I hope the weeks pass quickly. If it is any comfort, we heard back within 48 hours when I had mine in August. Will pop on to your other thread x

We had our booking in appt yesterday, and met the most amazing and sensative midwife. Spent almost an hour and a half going over my history and talking about how I am coping this time round. Offered me some counselling if I wanted it and asked me to come back to see a consultant after the NT scan to discuss any findings - or just to reassure me if all is ok.

Scan is on Monday and am seriously beginging to get scared. Excited but also very nervous.

Am feeling much more energetic this week and have even dug out the baby name book....! Never too early to start looking. Has anyone else started their (long) shortlist?

ApplyEverAfter, lovely news! Our little cherub is due the day before - so the race is on Wink

chelstonmum · 16/03/2011 10:38

Gosh we are all rather bust this week!

Good luck for Monday Natz, I had so many butterflies in my tummy before and after my scan I could have sworn the baby was kicking (I know it wasn't, just felt odd!) Looks like we are also due the same day!

Hope your trying to relax Summerpixie, hopefully they dont take the entire 2weeks to get back to you.

Wh to have also had a look at the good old name book, although scoring out more than we are highlighting! Confused

summerpixie · 16/03/2011 18:51

Thank you for your support NatzCNL & Chelstonmum. I was tempted to call for the initial results today but then thought I might get told off for calling early so I'm holiding out until tomorrow. The full report will be 2 weeks.
I spent the whole day in the company of various different medics. To cut a long story short,to add to the worry of results I have a cyst in my right ovary which will need monitoring as it is causing me some pain.
I guess this is payback for the near perfect 1st pregnancy!
Anyway, I hope your scan goes well NatzCNL and I look forward to hearing about it. X

CrazyAlien06 · 16/03/2011 19:13

My scan tomoz afternoon peeps , I shall update when I am back :D
Happy St Paddys day to you all for tomoz ( 1/4 Irish lol) x

chelstonmum · 16/03/2011 19:44

Good luck for tomorrow too CrazyAlien. Perhaps Patrick for a boy? Wink

CrazyAlien06 · 16/03/2011 19:47

summerpixie hope things work out well x

Thanks chelstonmum lol hubby will not allow any Irish names so thats out! When we have a successful pregnancy and have a boy it will be being named after DH :D

eastegg · 17/03/2011 16:31

crazyalien I saw your post on the other thread! Congrats on scan going well. Such a relief isn't it? I'd been pretty symptom-free which made me twitchy as well. Was a relief to see a baby moving around but we've got to go back a week on Monday to have the nuchal scan again as they dated me at 10+5 with baby too small to do it.

Good luck everyone else with scans coming up.

PrincessScrumpy · 17/03/2011 19:10

Was shocked at school today when I mentioned my pg in front of 2 year 9 pupils. They were really surprised and said "but miss, you're not fat or anything!" The other said "but, you're really skinny."

Now, I'm usually a shapely 12 on my hips and bum and a 10 up top but I'm in size 16 jeans at the mo (bit spacey but conmfy as 12 will not do up), so I wouldn't call me skinny in the first place, but with my clear bump I was even more surprised - shows how unobservant teens are! they were "naughty" girls but I like them more after that! lol Smile

summerpixie · 17/03/2011 19:39

Just an update on this thread, my results came back 'all clear'. So good news so far.
I came home not so long ago from having dinner at my parents and awaiting me was a brown envelope from Her Maj. Shame it wasn't a wedding invite. I've been called for my public services to the courts. The dream I have been waiting for since I turned 18, JUST not when I'm pregnant and with exams looming! I don't want to defer as they will give me something during when Mat leave will be. I'd rather get it out of the way now, especially as the threat of the big 'O' visit is imminent!
I wish my students were as kind as yours PrincessScrumpy. I had a Yr11 girl ask me: Er so how many weeks are you miss?!
I was a little shocked and didn't deny it but replied: Excuse me?! You're a bit personal aren't you. She apologised and her friend made her feel stupid for asking such a personal question.
I've not told any of my students yet as it usually causes far too many questions, although I'm sure they suspect it anyway due to my 3 day abesence. I felt guilty replying to my 6th formers with 'yes I'm OK' when they ask me if I am better now assuming I've been sick.
Roll on the weekend.

CrazyAlien06 · 17/03/2011 20:42

great news about your results Summer

Scan was all good for me :) Just got to wait for nuchal results thingy now!x

AppleyEverAfter · 17/03/2011 21:19

Glad to hear you were both OK crazyalien and summerpixie! Phew!

NatzCNL · 18/03/2011 10:01

Summerpixie, wonderful news! Must be a huge weight off our mind. You can defer the Jury Service, I have done twice, once because I had just started a trained job which I couldn't be covered for and the other time DD1 had just been born and I was breast feeding - that was a gap of 6 years so could be some time before you are called again. Worth speaking to them about it and letting them know your situation.

Hope everyone else is well and scans are all going smoothly. We are having our NT scan on monday. Slightly stressed but trying not to think about it. Have realised how hormonal I am as yesterday a neighbour of ours who I have never met before (bearling in mind we have lived here for 5 years), came knockong on my door to tell me that we were breeching access rights due to us parking on our own drivway...!!! It is at the side of our house, we have ALWAYS parked there and we do have to leave foot access to the neighbours on our side of the road (8 houses) because of the age of the building and the original rights of access for the coal bunker still stand (house built in 1774)...

Cheked my title deeds as he told me I had to and am ready to go round and shove then down his throat. OUR driveway, OUR right to park there and NO breech of access as we have always had a gate for the neighbours. Sooo angry! Angry These hormones really getting me woulnd up. That and stupid neighbours who think they can knock on my door and lay down the law. Sorry for that rant x

summerpixie · 19/03/2011 08:35

Oh dear NatzCNL I hope you gave him what for. After getting my results I thought I would be less stressed but driving to and from work still infuriates me. I think my road rage has gotten worse this trimester, so you are not alone with the raging hormones and anger!
I tried speaking to the Jury summons bureau and was on hold for 15 minutes and then gave up. I think they have one person working there! I shall try to call them again on Monday. I told my HoD and he freaked and told me to defer. I told him I would try but at the end of the day I would not sacrifice my maternity leave just to make it easier on the school!
I hope your scan goes well on Monday NatzCNL X

chelstonmum · 19/03/2011 09:13
