I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

Hi all and welcome natz . First day back at work after a week of afternoon naps! I had a bit of red spotting in the afternoon. The AN unit at hospital was shut and gave a number for emergencies on the answerphone message. I decided that as the red blood hadn't continued it wasn't really an emergency and to leave it until the morning and call the GP. I don't have my own MW as its shared care. My scan is also on Sunday so I'm not sure if GP will be able to get me in for an early scan tomorrow at EPU.

All sorts of thoughts are going through my head at the moment and I'm hoping it's nothing serious. It's all very alien to me as DS was such an easy pregnancy (bar week 36+ PUPP). I think I might resort to buying a doppler for the remainder of this pregnancy if all is OK! Oh, and to top it all off I seem to have slight morning sickness. The thought of eating when feeling hungry makes me nauseous!(chocolate is exempt from this issue though!)
sigh
I hope everybody else is feeling good and the scans are going well. Enjoy the new half term teachers and TA's! (6 weeks until easter)

PrincessScrumpy · 01/03/2011 19:45

Summerpixie - it's best to get checked out but it is really common so if it's light then usually okay. I looked into it a lot as I was spotting at 6 weeks - that's why we had the early scan and discovered it's twins. Mine turned out to be secondary implantation bleeding after the egg split. But apparently many people spot thoughout pg. Would your AF be due? It can relate to that. Good luck! x

eastegg · 02/03/2011 10:26

It sounds very reassuring that the bleeding has stopped, summerpixie, and I hope that's still the case. I had some bleeding with DS at around 7 weeks; a reasonable amount of blood but it was shortlived. Alarming but as princess says very common. Glad you can still eat chocolate!

eastegg · 02/03/2011 10:29

God that last comment sounds really flippant if you are still worried summer. I was assuming that everything's OK as your post was on Monday. Hope that's the case.

lolajane2009 · 02/03/2011 13:51

had my scan... happ, healthy baby dated at 11 + 5... only two days out. scan took ages as baby wouldnt move much and when it did it took to bouncing up and down or moving so fast it couldnt be measured. I can't believe I almost cried when I heard the heartbeat the first time.

summerpixie · 02/03/2011 19:35

Thanks for well wishes PrincessScrumpy and eastegg.
I made an appt to see GP who tested my urine and found it clear then referred me to EPU. I went down yesterday afternoon and they gave me a scan. They were really nice at the unit. Much nicer than Dragonwives! I'm measuring within 11-12 weeks which is spot on and baby moved during the scan. Sonographer gave me a sneaky copy of the scan and told me to hide it before anyone else saw esp the previous patient waiting outside.
I still get my scan on Sunday along with the lengthy blood extraction to make up for the lack of booking bloods.
Glad everything is well for you & bubs, lolajane. Anybody else due 12 week scan this week?

eastegg · 03/03/2011 09:35

Good news both summerpixie and lolajane.
My scan's a week tomorrow. Getting a bit excited now.

NatzCNL · 04/03/2011 14:23

Sorry for long gap between posting! Been pretty hectic and stressful at home. I had to end my previous pregnancy due to complications with our baby and her due date would have been tomorrow, so the pain of our loss and the hormones have let me an emotional wreck!
Glad to hear all the scans are going well, always a worry summerpixie when there is spotting, I had my 'last period' with my first two pregnancies which had me stressing out, but my nan had a bleed every month throughout two of her 8 pregnancies, so I tried not to worry too much. My body has now figured out what is happening so spared me that stress for this and my last pregnancy!
I hope everyone is keeping well. We are still keeping the pregnancy quiet from most of our family and all our friends until after the nuchal scan. But Im fast running out of loose clothing...! Luckily the weather means I can wear a loose cardigan and keep it closed over my tum. Smile
21st March is still a long way off, cant wait for my scan, but dreading it too.

Valiant1 · 05/03/2011 21:42

It been so long since i posted too life is mad xx hope we all well ladies and bumps xxxxxx

paternal · 05/03/2011 21:58

We just had 12 week scan and EDD has moved from the 15th to the 5th of September! So we get to see the baby earlier. Yay :)

Valiant1 · 05/03/2011 22:13

wow paternal thats fab have my fingers crossed that happens to us lol but will not xx

chelstonmum · 06/03/2011 10:18

Hi Everyone, it seems to have been a busy week in bump land.....

My Scan is on Wednesday, I can't wait! Hoping the sonographer says were getting our earlier too paternal.

Seem to feel more of a 'bump' this week.............or is it too many treats over half term????

YummyMummyBella · 06/03/2011 14:27

Hi everyone, I hope I'm not too late to join this discussion! I'm pregnant with my first bump, EDD 24th September, however I went for a private scan and got told a different date?! I read that Paternal had a change of EDD, how often does this happen? I'm going for my 12 week scan on the 10th so will hopefully get it all resolved then. I had to purchase some maternity jeans yesterday and my regular ones where becoming a bit too snug. I think its more over indulging then baby. Anyway I'm really happy I've found somewhere where were all going through the same, my partner is slightly useless when it comes to understanding why I cry over everything! Hope bumps and all are well x

lolajane2009 · 06/03/2011 14:33

Mine moved from 11th to the 16th so it happens a lot i think.

Valiant1 · 06/03/2011 15:27

Wellcome yummymummy and yes they change but then they never garenteed to come on time either. ds1 was 3 days early (with a 4 day labour he was stuck and no one would listen) dd was 3 weeks early waters went and ds2 was 2 weeks late hopefully this one will be late so i can spend some time with ds2 before he starts full time xx

PrincessScrumpy · 06/03/2011 19:05

My 1st scan was 2 weeks off my dates (and made no sense) the 2nd one was more in line which makes me 11 +1 today. My scan is next Monday so it's going to be a long week! Desperately want to know twins are okay and that they've both reached the 12 week mark and also get a more accurate date - supposed to be most accurate at 12 weeks.

YummyMummyBella · 07/03/2011 11:28

Well that's good to know its happened to other people, as this is my first I was slightly concerned something was wrong with the baby... It wasn't growing properly or was growing too quickly! Can't wait for Thursday to arrive for my 12 week scan. Good luck with your scan PrincessScrumpy. And Valiant I hope your next birth is much easier and quicker this time around. As strange as it sounds I cannot wait to get a proper bump! X

lolajane2009 · 07/03/2011 13:18

Sorry to be nosey but how much weight has everyone gained? I'm still on the light side and even with junk food only gained 1kg (2.2lb). anyone else similar? I am 12 + 3

YummyMummyBella · 07/03/2011 13:27

I haven't weighed myself but I am definitely thicker around my tummy and my bra size has gone from a 34B to C. I'm quite slim anyway so any weight gain shows! Has anyone brought any maternity clothes?

lolajane2009 · 07/03/2011 13:40

not yet but bought some 12/14 normal pyjamas as 8/10 ones no longer fit round my big bust, gone from a 34dd to 34f, which is now snug. I need some bigger knickers though and I'm eyeing up some maternity knickers at the moment.

bought some baby stuff since the scan though.

PrincessScrumpy · 07/03/2011 19:46

I've put on about 4lbs and have a clear bump - bigger than those I work with who are 16 weeks, but there's two of them and I've had one so I guess I'm less toned. Probably not comparable to others.

chelstonmum · 07/03/2011 20:13

I have gained 2.5lb, im 11+5 today. Not needed to buy maternity clothes, but my wardrobe is becoming 'tighter'!

polskiprincess · 07/03/2011 20:22

I've put on 2 kilo's and i'm only 13+3 although the sonographer tried to make me feel better by telling me It was because I'd drunk so much before the scan, apparantly my bladder was huge (she was very happy with me )i have also bought maternity clothes as all my trousers that waist fasten are far too tight, on the plus side all my hipster jeans still fit me fine - so will try and stay with them as long as possible!

Jojo1983 · 07/03/2011 21:14

Hi ladies I have my scan in the morning and I am so nervous and excited! I cant wait to find out that everything is ok.
On the down side I have totally gone off of chocolate whats that all about! Lol

CrazyAlien06 · 07/03/2011 22:21
