I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

CrazyAlien06 · 19/02/2011 08:13

Hey everyone:D hope you are all well!
I'm doing ok, symptoms have lessened alot which is worrying me but nothing I can do about it , will see what the outcome is at the 12 week scan. Haven't had a date yet though.
DH has no sympathy for my tiredness and says I'm lazy. ( was picking him up at 1230 then he kept me awake till 2!) so trying to have little lay in as need to leave for the airport in couple of hours!
I don't really feel pregnant to be honest as it's not really being acknowledged in the house. dh has said he is really looking forward to it but I'm not believing there is a baby until scan (a good friend got to 12 weeks and no baby at scan).
I need my dH to look after me a bit as working full time as a teacher is draining me and all the housework is too. I just wish I knew if all was ok then I can look preggers and maybe dh will look after me then!
Sorry for the rant :(

Anyone up to anything exciting this weekend?

X

lolajane2009 · 19/02/2011 11:38

I don't blame you. i my DH was saying I was lazy I'd drop something heavy on his head.

my mild cramping seems to have diminished but my morning sickness is raving and insomnia has hit again, I miss my old antidepressants that had a sedative in.

PrincessScrumpy · 19/02/2011 14:18

crazyalien - glad your dh isn't mine. In fairness, because mine are twins I do already look pregnant and am very tired. We have dd1 and I sailed through the first few months with her but it's very different this time.

Just had dd's 3rd birthday party and I was up until 11.30pm last night icing her cake. I need a nap!

Take care of yourself x

freckleye · 19/02/2011 16:32

Hi,
Can I join you?!Smile
I am 8+3 with DC3 and feeling the need to share although not in RL just yet!
Congratulations to everyone and big hugs to those for who it has not gone to plan xx
I am due end of September and look forward to getting to know you guys also due at the same time...and will try not to moan too much about constant nausea and tiredness Wink this too shall pass and all that!!Hmm

summerpixie · 20/02/2011 08:18

I think the hardest thing about being a teacher and first trimester preg is that you don't want anybody to know your secret but at the same time you want everybody to know why you are soooooooooo tired and hate being given cover!

Took DS to a birthday party and had to climb up the frame with him a few times and it knackered me out. Had a nap when we got back and left DH to deal with DS. Thought it was all going well until DH sat watching TV and DS came running in to me shouting: is this mine? Can I open it?!

Why do men do that? Is TV that much more important than my nap?!

I've had to say no to a friend a couple of times this weekend. She keeps asking me to help her with this that and the other for her DS's birthday. Anyone would think it was my DS birthday with the stuff she has asked me to help her with. I had to say no, but politely and made suggestions as to what she could do instead. I think non-teacher friends forget that holidays are actually times for teachers to get away from other peoples kids and do something with their own families.

Anyway, hope you are all feeling better this week and MS is subsiding for most of you. I have my booking appt tomorrow! X

lolajane2009 · 21/02/2011 12:01

Got my scan appointment for next wednesday. Is it normal to see an antenatal consultant at your scan?

eastegg · 21/02/2011 12:29

Hi all!

crazyalien I know what you mean about not feeling pregnant and almost not believing it until the scan. I'm the same this time. My scan's on 11th March so not too long now.

Had in-laws over yesterday and got quite knackered preparing for it, cooking etc. DH is very good but I do tend to just throw myself into things and try to carry on as normal. I think we successfully got through it without arousing suspicions! Despite DH really obviously not topping my wine glass up without asking. SIL is due in April so their attention is all on that. I imagine the spotlight will be off me for some time. New baby trumps new pregnancy!

Booking in on Friday. Enjoy yours summerpixie. Parents coming down from up north on Friday also so will be telling them (hadn't planned to until the scan). Exciting. Trying to work out how to tell them in person instead of over phone; bit tricky as they will arrive while I'm at the MW so will have to make up some story about where I am.

summerpixie · 22/02/2011 18:37

My booking appt was a slight disaster! They had no notes from when I was pregnant with DS, even though I had him at the same hospital! Poor communication between NHS departments. I told MW about trauma from dragon MW when I had DS and she kept trying to back up the dragon, even though she didn't know who it was and what had actually happened (Consultant who came into my room looked at the ltr of blood on the floor and said: straight to theatre!). Anyway she got a bit pee'd off with my hidden veins, so I'll now have to have half my blood extracted when my scan date comes through (if they can find a vein!).
She didn't ask me for 'proof' of residency so I am not mentioning the blasted letter. She seemed to have a strong dislike for GP's and Dr's. She said she couldn't understand why GP wants to see me every 4 weeks. I don't mind if GP wants to keep tabs on me, at least I know someone actually cares!

Valiant1 · 22/02/2011 18:53

Well told all the family out of three sets of parents, didn't get a congrats just two lots of ok's and one do you want us to buy you a new tv! out of two brothers and one sister one ok and two we knew you were!!!!!!! oh well not bad responces i supose, am still so tried tryed to sleep this after noon and all the telephone sales people tryed to call in the space of an hour then two seperate people knocking on the door. God i'm grummpy..... sorry am going to slepp night all xxx

PrincessScrumpy · 22/02/2011 19:54

Summerpixie I had a dragon mw for dd1's birth (most of it - they had a shift change just before I started pushing and that mw was fab). Dragon mw hated gps which wasn't good as my village dr was supposed to be called when I was in labour but mw refused and dh had to really kick off - not in his nature at all! I saw a consultant just before we started ttc as my birth was so traumatic and the consultant agreed to a cs. Not an easy option I know but cannot be treated the way I was again. MW was not happy that I'd gone behind her back to arrange this before she met me at my booking appointment but hey, I'm not trying to befriend her. She had her stuff to say and I shoty her down (politely). Anyway, now I'm having twins it seems less of a problem for her.
Also, my GP told me not to let the junior drs check dd over the next day as he didn't trust them and said he would come in and do it. He did say they might get funny with me but to ignore them - actually they were fine and the mw on duty the next day liked my gp. GP also stitched me up - all 37 stitches perfectly healed - mw wanted to take me into theatre but gp didn't want to take me away from dd - he was fab! Stick to what you want.

Valiant1 HUGE congrats from me then. Wonderful news xxxx

Valiant1 · 23/02/2011 13:05

Thanks princessscrummy xx Having a dossy day today sat and cried at Brother Bear now dc watching Mulan2. need to start tea (sheperds pie will take ages) but feel sooo sick i cant even think about it lol when i asked the kids what they wanted they said not beans on toast again lol they loving the whole baby likes icecream thing lol

PrincessScrumpy · 23/02/2011 20:49

My babies seem to like Haribo!

eastegg · 24/02/2011 10:55

Sorry your booking appointment was rubbish summerpixie. Sounds exasperating. No notes from your previous pregnancy is appalling. Apart from anything else I suppose it wasted loads of time explaining everything. Mine's tomorrow; will report back soon, if there's anything to report!

MumToSophie · 24/02/2011 16:09

Hi, how is everyone feeling today?

I got my scan yesterday. It was so good to see the baby, it's just made it seem more real to me now. The scanner was lovely and we were in for ages and got some great little photo's. So relieved everything was ok. My due date is 11th September which is the day before my dd's 2nd birthday :)

Valiant1 · 25/02/2011 09:50

Aww MumToSophie we have 2 birthdays in September one on the 14th(mine) and my dd on the 30. Also my Dads on the 22nd. Glad everthing ok . Am really exited about my scan but it seems so far away not till the 21st of march Sad. I am sure it will fly by when the kids are back at school x Hope we all have a lovely weekend xx

PrincessScrumpy · 26/02/2011 22:39

I think these will be the first September babies in the family - most of our birthdays (including dh and dd) are in Feb! Feeling quite poor right now! Smile so September will spread it out.... if I can keep the two of them comfy for that long. I'm presuming they'll be August.

CrazyAlien06 · 27/02/2011 13:18

hey everyone, thanks for your replies :D
i have arrived home safely from skiing holiday and am dreading going back to work tomorrow :(
I got my scan date through the post though so that was a nice thing to come home to. Its in a few weeks, terrified as dont really feel preggers lately, having been feeling nauseous but thats about it!
I hope the next few weeks go fast as I want to know if there is a little one in there and if all is ok :)

How are you all?
x

lolajane2009 · 27/02/2011 13:26

I'm better than I was. Belly is growing bu I still have no appetite and feeling a little nauseaus but back to pre pregnancy weight at the moment. Feeling v. nervous about wednesday though.

NatzCNL · 27/02/2011 14:06

Hello, can I join you all?

Im pregnant with DC3, and had a dating scan last week as we were unsure of dates. It turns out baby is due 24th September - day before my birthday. Originally thought I was around the 2nd Oct.

Does anyone have trouble hiding thier growing bump? I didn't show at all until around 5/6 months with DD1, but DD2 was much earlier, and this time it was almost immediate....!

CrazyAlien, I dont feel at all pregnant any more. Am tired quicker but the nausea has pretty much gone and other than swollen boobs I forget that I am expecting.

Good luck to all with impending scans, our nuchal scan is on the 21st March - ages away! Will be nearly 14 weeks, but the hospital said that was ok

chelstonmum · 27/02/2011 16:08

Hi everyone, lots of new faces this week, congratulations! Made it home from a 'relaxing' half term late last night.............. 8 solid days of visiting, lunches (to be politiel thrown up) dinners (like wise) and general exhaustion! Im sure people think we run on rechargable batteries!

10days to go till our scan, I can't wait. Feel so bloated it would be nice for someone to confirm a baby is responsible and not just too many biscuits!

PrincessScrumpy · 27/02/2011 17:03

Congratulations NatzCNL

I cannot hide my bump and I'm 10 weeks - my bump appeared at 7 weeks but then I'm having twins and have dd1 so I guess everything is a bit looser this time. I think if you're a bit bigger you can hide it longer (not that I'm stick thin).

I don't feel too pg at the moment but do feel soooo tired. Poor dd must think I'm pretty rubbish at the moment with my afternoon naps - dreading being back at work next week.

eastegg · 28/02/2011 12:58

Good news about your scan mumtosophie and welcome natz. natz I think I'm going to be the opposite to you. Officially due 26th Sept at the mo but I'm pretty sure scan will put it later. I plan to stay on the thread though if that's OK!

Had MW booking in on Fri. Pretty uneventful, but good because MW was nice and it was quite quick. Also I got handed all my medical notes by the receptionist to hand over to the MW and had some time to read. Fascinating to read notes from my labour with DS but didn't have long enough. I had a troublesome 2nd Stage and am now thinking about a CS, so could do with sitting down with those notes for a few hours!

My mum and dad now know as they were visiting this weekend. Nice to have someone other than DH to talk to about it (as we have done most of the weekend!)Poor DS now has just me to entertain him all day.

Only September birthday I know is my MIL. No-one at all in my family.
