I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

Reddaisy, I tell dh to look forward to the clingy stage! How many weeks are you now?

lolajane2009 · 07/02/2011 22:06

anyone else here been told they are 'high risk'? I'm a little freaked out as I've been told can't have a water birth and will get an IV antibiotic in labour... needles freak me out.

Allypally16 · 07/02/2011 22:14

It's early for them to tell you you're high risk and start you worrying. Water births can't always be guaranteed anyway (there's only one in our hospital) so maybe it's good for you to think about other options (nearer the time!) You may well be glad of the needle when your massive and can't wait to get the baby out!!! Hope you're ok.

reddaisy · 07/02/2011 22:14

Just eight weeks Ally, so clingy should be any time now for you!!

Why are you high risk Lola? I was high risk in my last pregnancy but not until labour because of certain factors.

i sadly have a heart condition that means i need the iv line. it never even occurred to me that wouldnt be able to have my birth neither at the hospital i wanted or how i wanted.

reddaisy · 08/02/2011 11:04

That's a shame Lola. But maybe you should try and think that the safe arrival of your little one is the most important thing and birth plans often don't go as expected anyway. My last one certainly didn't!

lol, i'm mostly peed off that one hospital has cheap parking nearby and I can't go there. But I suppose until I see my cardiologist I won't know if I have to go even further away. I hope not or I will have to change midwife.

Congratulations PrincessScrumpy!

Wow, identical twins, what fun. We have friends with twins and found lots of great gifts from the Kiki and Bree website.......twin fun without being all 'matchy matchy'. x

chelstonmum · 08/02/2011 12:40

P.s PrincessScrumpy...........no wonder you felt like you had a bump so early on! x

reddaisy · 08/02/2011 13:57

Lola - Our hospital parking is extortionate but we got some sort of reduced rate after we got our token validated so maybe you could enquire about that?

Thanks chelstonmum love the website.

I'm just working out how I can convince dh to spend lots on a pushchair!

lolajane2009 · 08/02/2011 17:18

i'll have to have to have a look. do you have morning sickness princess scrumpy?

PrincessScrumpy · 08/02/2011 19:43

Big time - waking at night to be sick (twice last night), waking to need a snack, waking to wee, then dd1 wakes up wanting cuddles at 4am. I went to her as I was already awake!

Not complaining (too much) as it means they are healthy. Seems to be fine if I keep grazing. I've cooked loads of pasta (plain) to eat and pick at tonight. Terrified biscuits at night will rot my teeth.

lolajane2009 · 08/02/2011 19:54

does your sickness get worse or better when you eat?

sorry if I'm being nosey...

PrincessScrumpy · 08/02/2011 21:09

better, but only really bland stuff - plain pasta or cheese biscuits (not actual cheese) helps. If I don't eat for an hour I regret it so have to graze constantly.

DH brought me toast in bed but I struggled - knew it would be better once I forced myself to eat though!

Valiant1 · 08/02/2011 21:41

Hi, just wondered if i can join you ladys and your bumps. I am 7+1 today and already have three children ds1,8 dd,5 ds2,4. Also have a 19yr old sd who lives with us. We haven't told anyone yet i think we are still in shock. we went through the house and chucked everything away from our ds2 in November!!!!! The pregnancy not planned but am allready very exited but worried as my husband just lost his job at the end of dec. Well i look foward to spending time getting to know you all xx

reddaisy · 08/02/2011 22:52

Congrats Valiant1 - what a little surprise you have got on the way.

It is a shame that you got rid of all the stuff from your DS. That happened to my mum after me. And then my surprise little sister came along. We are really, really close so she was a very fortunate little accident.

princess that is amazing news! You must be so excited.

valiant congratulations and welcome. You're going to be busy! And here's me worrying how I will cope with 2. I'm also just over 7 weeks officially.

I've had my appointments through over the weekend; 25th Feb for booking in and 11th March for scan. So ages to wait for scan but I knew that. The booking in appt means I can't avoid telling my parents until the scan as planned, as they are coming to stay that weekend which can't be changed as they live miles away and I haven't seen them since Christmas. So I'll have to tell them why I'm disappearing for the best part of the afternoon!

johsibo · 09/02/2011 11:56

Just from the doctor.. and beautiful 8 weeks and 2 days pregnant today! Baby #3 due date will be 19th of september. Congratulations to everyone! We are happy here. :)

MumToSophie · 09/02/2011 12:15

Hiya, I had my first appointment with the midwife yesterday and she said she is going to post out my scan date, cant wait hope it's soon :)
Just looking for a bit of advice, my dd was with my little cousins all day Friday and my auntie phoned to tell me that by Sunday they both had chicken pox. I'm guessing she's going to get it, should I phone the docs and tell them? I wasn't with them, my mum had her over while I was at work and I have had chicken pox before but I'm just a bit worried that it could be dangerous for the bump. Feeling so sorry for my little girl if she gets it too :(

lolajane2009 · 09/02/2011 12:25

i would if i was you. might be best to just make sure.

PrincessScrumpy · 09/02/2011 17:16

Congrats Valiant1!

By the way - can I stay on this thread even though babies are now likely to be born in August now? Smile

chelstonmum · 09/02/2011 19:38

Evening Ladies.

PrincessScrumpy, you have to stay so we can find out about these babies!

MumtoSophie, I had dd's friend to stay last weekend and she had pox by Tuesday. I mentioned it to MW and she took bloods to screen for immunity, all came back fine a few days later :).

General question: Does anyone have back pain? I sailed through first 6mths with DS and DD but seem to be a walking pregnancy disaster this time. I can hardly stand up if I lie down and struggle to straighten and walk........AAARRRGGGHHHHHHH!

lolajane2009 · 09/02/2011 19:58

lol yes, everything aches atm. the backaches means i can't stay upright too long.

PrincessScrumpy · 09/02/2011 20:45

Back ache hasn't begun yet but had it from 12 weeks with dd1 as my ligaments loosened too much and my pelvic bone slipped. Got sympathy when obviously pg but in the early weeks I think people thought I was milking it! A mat belt really helped from the physio but they don't give them out until later in pg.
