I found out yesterday that I am pregnant with DC2. I am really pleased as we only started trying on Christmas Eve so I am only about four weeks pregnant.

I have told my best friend but I think DP and I will wait to tell family and friends until after the scan. Anyone else due in September and fancy a chat?

CrazyAlien06 - I think you dh needs to do some reading. Having said that I sailed through 1st trimester with dd1, exhausted with this one but we've had scares too so might not be sleeping properly.

I get away with it as I look as rough as I feel at the moment so dh is stepping up to the plate. Had a lie-in yesterday and then got up with dd today but had an hour nap from 9am.

Not looking forward to work tomorrow as morning sickness has kicked in with a vengance and dh won't be home until very late.

CrazyAlien06 · 06/02/2011 19:15

Hey yeah he s seen some bits, will chat more about it tonight . Had no morning sickness which isn't helping me as don't feel like I am having all the proper symptoms. I wish that I could have a scan to check everything is ok as I think things never go well for me so would be over the moon if all is ok. As at the mo I'm fearing the worst and not getting excited.
I haven't had any extra sleep at all since finding out so just constantly knackered!x

PrincessScrumpy · 06/02/2011 20:20

CrazyAlien06 - scan isn't always reassuring at this early stage. I had bleeding and cramping so have had one (thurs before last). Grumpy sonographer told me baby was 4 weeks (not possible - would have had bfp at the same time as conceiving!) Have had bloods which are ok but not great and now am very anxious about scan tomorrow - not at all like dd1.

chelstonmum · 06/02/2011 20:43

Lots of good luck and happy thoughts for tomorrow princessScrumpy. Fingers crossed you get a nice sonographer this week! x

michelle1979 · 06/02/2011 20:44

Hello and congratulations to everyone due in September. I am due around 16th sep (not sure tho) with my second, I already have a 2 and a half yr old. I am over the moon and very excited however am also v anxious as I have done a clearblue preg test 3 weeks in succession and it keeps saying 3+ weeks when I am more like 7. Also I am getting a white discharge. Can anyone tell me should I be worried and has anyone else had this result with clearblue? I have all the other pregnancy symptoms but I can't wait for the scan to tell me everything is ok! Confused x

chelstonmum · 06/02/2011 21:35

Hi Michelle, firstly congratulations!

Seondly, clearblue only go upto 3+, im sure that means 5+ which is why you are getting the same result. I am due 21/9 ish and had book in with MW on Wed, she made me to be 7+1, I made me 7 exactly, so good enough for me. Just waiting on scan app confirmation, should get it this week (date, not scan). Just desperate to see our little one on the screen! x

eastegg · 07/02/2011 07:27

crazyalien congratulations. If it helps I'm hardly having any symptoms either. I must be just about the only one whose boobs are exactly the same as before! Not a whiff of sickness yet. I'm now about 7 weeks. I've had nausea with previous PGs. It helps to remember, espec if comparing to previous PGs, that it can be a while before some symptoms kick in and it's easy to forget that. Also loads of women don't get sick.

michelle congrats!

princess good luck for today.

Got to go as DS woken up

lolajane2009 · 07/02/2011 15:58

saw midwife today and then went to get my bounty pack. my date is now 11th september. i'm hoping baby won't be early as I'd rather my child was one of the oldest in school year and not one of youngest.

told mother i was pregnant today too and will tell in laws i am too. my mom seemed shocked. i guess it was unexpected.

i wonder if in laws will be shocked too. my morning sickness is raving atm and my breasts are so sore. midwife told me it should wear off around 12 weeks.

reddaisy · 07/02/2011 16:38

That is exciting that you have seen the midwife LolaJane, mine isn't until 15th.

I would have preferred mine to be born in August (although I think it is unlikely as I am due around 22nd September I think) to save me a year's worth of childcare fees Grin So we can swap if yours comes early Wink

Any news PrincessScrumpy? How did you get on today?

lol i suppose i'm lucky i can work the baby around my job caring for my autistic brother.

michelle1979 · 07/02/2011 19:25

Thanks chelston mum and eastegg for your reassurance and well wishes, I feel much better now. Boobs are unbelievably sore and feel very grumpy! Hubby says no change there then! Hope everything went well PrincessScrumpy x

Allypally16 · 07/02/2011 21:26

Hi everyone, haven't been on this thread for a few days so it's taken me a few pages of back reading to catch up with everyone!

Can't believe how many of you are teachers (me too!) I just told my head today who was supportive and has no probs with me going for my early scan and mw appt in school time. Remember everyone that you're entitled to mw care during work time.

I'm 7 weeks and my symptoms have kicked in with a vengence - I agree and sympathise with everyone who is feeling sick, sore boobs, chapped lips, sleepless at night, so tired in the day. Is anyone else feeling like a dragon?!!! My poor dh and ds (aged 4) are really getting the worse of it - I've no patience and keep snapping at them! Dh is being so good about it and helping out loads/being supportive.

PrincessScrumpy · 07/02/2011 21:48

Hi All,

Thanks for all your positive thoughts - must have been prestty strong!

All is fine - I'm expecting identical twins! Each with it's own yoke sac and very strong heart beats. I'm in shock and can't stop giggling. Never planned on 3 and will be poor forever more, but I don't care - soooo excited.

I told people at work and their reaction seems to be "rather you than me" or "how will you manage?" Seems a daft question. Oh well, I'm buzzing!

lolajane2009 · 07/02/2011 21:50

wow. identical twins.

reddaisy · 07/02/2011 21:51

Oh my god PrincessScrumpy!!! Oh my goodness! Are there twins in the family?

I am one of three and love it, I bet it will be hard work but worth it.

AllyPally, I have had a few rather grumpy days too but I now seem to be in a clingy stage now Blush

lolajane2009 · 07/02/2011 21:53

lol i got so grumpy at 4am this morning with hubby i smacked him with my pillow. second time i have done that in a week, although he deserved both as one time he stole all the blankets and the other he smacked me accidently.

atm i'm really teary though.

PrincessScrumpy · 07/02/2011 21:56

I had an identical twin but they aren't supposed to be hereditary!?

lolajane2009 · 07/02/2011 21:58

i thought they werent genetic, that they are just a chance thing.

reddaisy · 07/02/2011 21:59

I always thought twins were hereditary.

I am off to google and find out!

OP posts:
lolajane2009 · 07/02/2011 22:00

i thought non identical were but identical werent.

reddaisy · 07/02/2011 22:01

Yep, I stand corrected. It is "chance, coincidence or just plain good luck" according to the website I looked at.

OP posts:
reddaisy · 07/02/2011 22:02

Now I'm going to have to google again Lola! Back soon!

OP posts:
Allypally16 · 07/02/2011 22:03

Congrats Princess Scrumpy - that's fab news! Don't listen to all the grumps at work - you'll be fine. You'll be well practised seen as it's your second (and third!) Someone at work had identical twins and a 5 yr old and things take longer but she's so happy.
I also thought identical twins are not hereditary - they're split cells aren't they?

reddaisy · 07/02/2011 22:05

You're right Lola, non-identical twins are hereditary, identical ones aren't. Phew, glad we got that sorted out!
