Got my GP appointment on Friday but not sure how long I'll have to wait to see MW...sounds like each practice is different.

Been back at work this week but finding it hard to concentrate. I keep running to the loo to check everything's ok as constantly feel damp as well. Glad it's not just me!!

Think My Mum and Sister have guessed my secret...may have to come clean tonight (wish me luck!)

Sunnyandwild · 05/01/2011 18:56

Hi All can I join? :)

I still can't believe it but I tested positive a week before Christmas after over 2 years of trying :) (just after I'd had first blood tests re infertility, how weird is that?)

First pg, been with DP for 8 years... :)

I went to the doc and I'm SURE he said it's due 26 Sept but have realised that can't be right at all and think he misread it and it's 26th August, as that's basically what mumsnet calculator said, but I thought I'd join the September bus anyway as it could be end August / early September :) I need to wait till 20th January for first midwife appointment (wouldn't meet me till 8 weeks).

Am relieved to read on the posts here of sick feeling etc as have been wondering if I'm being a bit dramatic or just nervous about the whole thing and making myself feel sick...yes feeling sick and hungry, eating when I start to feel sick seems to help though its a struggle to do that sometimes. went back to work today and really struggled... I had a supply of bananas and crackers with me at all times hoping that would help! mainly struggled with the early morning, feeling sick and not being able to take my time slowly...

A question for you all - are you going to get the flu jab? Someone I work with who I crossed paths with the other day had flu and I'm paranoid now that I'm going to to get it, so think I will take the jab. The doctor didn't offer it to me though...

Hope you're all well and all goes well with us all! Hope to travel the next 9 months with you :)

100years · 05/01/2011 20:01

Great news to see some more people in here, looks like it will be busy in here :)

Had odd taste in mouth today, couldn't work out what it was, think it's that weird metallic thing people talk about.

Just a small point, Shootingstar, I think if you continue to do exercise you were already doing, that's fine, it's not really a good idea to start running now if you haven't been doing it before, but the advice is to keep your heart rate below 140-145 I think, just check it out first. I know a lot of people who have run throughout pregnancy, but obviously slowed down a lot. If you are used to it then it's good.

Tea is ready now, so will catch up again. On shifts at the moment, so my posting will be a lot less frequent.

ssmile · 06/01/2011 11:34

Hi - arh the funny taste in my mouth I hadnt twigged that it was the pregnancy! Dont remeber that first time around but I am off work getting over the flu bug so wasnt sure what was preg and what was flu! Told my sis and parents via skype yesterday as they all in OZ. Really didnt know whether it was too early but my close friend and sis both M/C at 11wks and ended up telling everyone anyway so figured I would prefer the support if something bad did happen.
When do you tell your other children. My DD is nearly 4, we thought we would wait until 12wk scan - is this good idea? I already trying to stop her jumping on me quite so much!

Due 12 sept for the list ;-)

ssmile · 06/01/2011 11:36

But this time around I am telling rellies it is due late sept. The first one was 15days OD and I got SO fed up in the second wk telling everyone "yes its still there, no its not come YET" :)

ssmile · 06/01/2011 11:46

All the talk on here of making appointments has just spurred me onto make a GP app for next wed. It all feels a bit sureal at the moment think I am in shock still, this makes it real..... oh er. But happy:o

jimmijam · 06/01/2011 18:21

Yay,booked in 4 early scan on 17th then have 2 ring midwife 2 make 1hr apt after. So excited! After scan, all being well, i may have 2 go out and buy a cute baby outfit!!

muzzy2011 · 06/01/2011 20:53

Hi All,
I have added myself onto September as I should be between 30th August and 2nd Sept! Found out on Christmas Day and have been sooo excited ever since. We had a misscarriage last year and it took 7 months to get this positive result so being quite paranoid about every twitch and pain.

What symptoms are you all having at the moment?

x

100years · 07/01/2011 15:17

mumsomeday, I also found on on christmas day!! Was a great day. Sorry to hear about your previous mc.

Sorry LittleWhiteSnowWolf :( Look after yourself.

We'll for the second day running I have come home from work feeling really ill. Yesterday it was mostly feeling faint and exhausted, today I spent half of the time I was at work in the loo retching and being a little bit sick. :( Feel really lousy, but it's OK, because I know why and it's all going to be worth it.

Penel · 07/01/2011 18:35

So exciting to find out there are so many other pregnant women out there at same stage as me, Our baby is due on 8 September. We lost our first baby just before Christmas last year, so it was best New Year's present ever to find out I was pregnant. We are terrified but incredibly happy and just keeping everything crossed. Good luck everyone.

Penel · 07/01/2011 18:42

I meant Christmas 2009. Keep on forgetting it is now 2011. Will blame it on preghead! My boobs are really tender and I keep on getting twinges in my tummy and am completely paranoid of course, but not feeling sick yet. Completely went off milk last time, so hope that doesn't happen again as I can't start the day without a cup of tea and cereal.

Penel · 07/01/2011 19:03

So Sorry LittleWhiteSnowWolf. We lost our baby in 2009 and nothing prepares you for it. Just be kind to yourself and get whatever support you need. Thoughts very much with you x

yumstepmum · 07/01/2011 20:34

Hi all.

May I join you? Bfp at work this morning. 4th month trying, first time I tested. So so terrified it's not real and af will come tomorrow.

DH over the moon. Our 1st together.

Sickness starting to kick in and very tired. Due 15 Sept.

Good luck to all x

MrsBooBar · 07/01/2011 21:05

Hello everyone, I have never been on anything like this before so it is taking me a while to work out the acronyms!
I got a positive result on Tuesday with a £2.99 pregnancy test where the clear blue digital gave me 2 negatives a few days before! My due date is 12th Sep and I am soooo excited! I am so worried that something will go wrong! i am getting strange feelings on one side at the moment so I guess that is where the little one has taken up home!
So has anyone got morning sickness yet?

MrsBooBar I feel a bit queasy after eating but it's probably down to nerves at the moment. I think I'll hate it if it comes but at least appreciate having some feeling (other than boobache)

LittleOne76 · 08/01/2011 05:26

Hello everyone. Could I join you please?

I just tested this morning and got a BFP. I did two different types of tests just in case. According to the due date calculators I think I am due on 15 September 2011.

We got married last month and this will be a honeymoon baby..! We've been thinking about TTC for quite a while now and last month was the first proper month of trying (we stopped using all contraception in Nov last year). I feel very very lucky.

I am super excited and haven't told DH yet. I'm going to let him sleep in a bit and then tell him..!

I've "felt" like something might be happening for the past week or so. I've had tender boobs and rumbling in my tummy like pre AF except that this has lasted for a few days. I've also felt much warmer at times and have been pretty tired.

It's great that so many people have had such a wonderful start to the year..!

LittleOne76 · 08/01/2011 05:28

Oh - this will be our first!

jazz412 · 08/01/2011 10:10

Can I join?
I think I tried to join before but my message hasn't turned up!!
congratulations to us mummys to be!
I think that I'm due on the 5th september :)
I also had a miscarriage last year but we're very excited and I'm hoping things are ok this time round (feels better already!)
This will be mine and my partners 1st, we're both currently at university I'm training to be a teacher so wish me luck with not getting too tired!!

exciteddotcom · 08/01/2011 13:10

Hi jazz, We're due on the same day! My first too and was our first time trying and I am a teacher too!
LittleOne76 we couldn't wait after getting married either - we got married in October.

Just had my GP appointment, which was very uneventful, forgot to ask about flu jab, my memory has gone to pot the last few weeks!

Has anyone else had one yet?

Just told the close family too- my grandparents seem quite shocked we were telling people 'so early' but I guess it's a generational thing- I want to be able to talk about things and if anything goes wrong, and I am the worst at keeping a secret!
