I've been to see GP today. All he did was take a urine test to check for infection and take my blood pressure. Was surprised he didn't do a pregnancy test to check! Anyway, he told me to take folic acid if i wasn't already and made me an appointment with midwife for when I am 8 weeks. Found out the midwife is a man, feeling a little strange about that as always thought it would be a woman!

holycrapolla · 29/12/2010 20:46

Hi everyone, i haven't been on here for ages but found out Boxing Day that DC3 is on the way so wanted to refresh my memory on what to expect!!

Not too sure if due date as this is out first month TTC and only came off the pill end of November so i'm guessing early September sometime. I have 1DS-9 and 1DD-7 so it's been a while since i was pregnant, i have no symtoms whatsoever and am fighting the urge to keep re-testing just to make sure it's still positive!

Good luck ladies...roll on September!

100years · 29/12/2010 22:28

Welcome to the other ladies in here :) Nicely growing list.

holycrapolla, I have done a thread all about retesting, even though I am having symptoms!!!

Had a blub this evening when I got home. Really scared it's not all real, I know this won't help me, and won't help the dot that's is growing in me. Will be a bit happier when I get another week out of the way - I hope!

I'm debating waiting to see the lovely dr I saw for a pre conception check, although I don't know when I will be able to see her. Am on Folic Acid, so that's OK. BP was checked a few weeks ago, that was fine, so I may wait a few more days to see if any appointments open up for her, if not I will see someone else.

LittleWhiteSnowWolf · 29/12/2010 22:43

Can I join in please? I've literally just found out I'm pregnant (about half an hour ago!). Had a browny bleed on Christmas Day which reminded me of the implantation bleed I had with DD so felt pretty sure I was upduffed. Did a test tonight on a whim and it immidiately came up positive. Am veering from shocked to excited to terrifed. DD is just shy of 18 months and I'd really wanted a bit more of an age gap (a 2012 baby, rather than a 2011 baby) but never mind. Its done now, so we just have to deal. DH is thrilled, bless him.

So DD is going to be about 2 years and 2 months when baby number 2 (argh!) arrives. According to the pregnancy calendar on the bbc website the due date is the 3rd of September. My birthday is Aug 28th so if this one is early I might get a surprise present! Grin

100years · 29/12/2010 22:45

Ah littlewhite, congrats. 2 years is a good age gap between siblings, there is between me and my little sis.

LittleWhiteSnowWolf · 29/12/2010 23:28

Thanks 100years--my first congrats! My sis and I also have 2 years, in fact her birthday is 2 weeks exactly before mine. I know it will be hard when they're young, but my sister and I are glad of the gap at our ages now.

100years · 30/12/2010 04:26

You're welcome LittleWhite :)

Once again it's the middle of the night and I'm feeling nauseous! Just had some cereal to try and stop the hunger, but so far it's not worked. I have a feeing this is going to get worse. But it's for a good cause! :)

MrsSawyer · 30/12/2010 09:31

Im tentatively going to ask if I can join?

Had a "feeling" for a couple of days now that im pregnant, so did a test yesterday and it was the faintest of faintest lines, so im hoping but not yet confident, think conception date was around 12th dec, but no idea of EDD.

Will try to wait another week and then test again, have a ds 4.4 yrs.

Congrats to everyone already on the bus!

100years · 30/12/2010 09:46

Hello MrsSawyer, congratulations. Yep I had that feeling too. :) If you can wait another week you are better than me! If you go to some websites you can put in your ovulation date and it will tell you your due date from that. :)

I have once again tested! Stoopid I know. Think it's more for the fun element of seeing the line appear! The positive line came up before the test window had even had any liquid in it! HCG is obviously very high at the moment.

BorgLady · 30/12/2010 10:27

Anyone else still taking pregnancy tests? I got the cheapie ones from Amazon, which up until a few days ago were barely showing any lines.

Today I got a Very STRONG positive on it, hormones kicking in!

Now I'm just terrified I will have morning sickness like I did with DS. No idea how I am going to do that with a toddler.

I must be mad!

MrsSawyer · 30/12/2010 10:47

I knew I was pregnant with ds before i tested, and i know now, even though line was very, very faint. Im dying to tell my mum but i know i cant until im sure, she would love another grandchild and would be crushed if im wrong, so musnt tell, musnt tell.

Dont think i can wait a week either but i must wait a few more days, but i kind already know, so im sure i can wait. Am taking DS to Thomasland on sunday so will do one when we come back on mon.

Sorry im rambling now....

MrsSawyer · 30/12/2010 13:10

Well that lasted long, i tested again and it was still an incredibly faint line but a line is a line, so its early days but......shift over on the back seat coz im officially on the bus! :) :)

jimmijam · 30/12/2010 13:27

:-)
mrssawyer, you're very lucky 2 have a mum that will b so excited for you. 1st time my mum was a bit matter of fact about it, with ds she came out with something along the lines of 'is this really what you want, itl be hard work' etc-needless 2 say i didnt speak 2 her for about a week after that. both times she said 'i already knew' but im pretty sure she didnt and was just saying it, though i dont know what she got out of it.
this time around we all live in the same house (long story, but we all brought a house together-my mum and bro live upstairs, myself dh, ds and dd live downstairs-own kitchens etc) so i have a feeling she wont take it well. think i may try 2 persuade hubby 2 break the news while im at work one day so i dont have 2 listen 2 her lecture :-(

told my boss yesterday (we talk a lot), he seemed quite shocked, after a minute of awkward silence he congratulated me. then asked if id be going on maternity leave around june-ummm NO!!!! he seemed concerned that i wouldnt last until 8months gone until i told him i have done this twice before! bless him. now he's concerned he's got 2 train another manager up b4 i go on leave, at least he'll keep it secret!

just realised iv told u half my life story... woops

Congratulations everyone! Can I join the September bus please? I'm quite excited... have just tested for the first time even though I was fairly sure as over a week late!! Blue line was strong and appeared really quickly! Smile

100years & BorgLady, I wasn't going to do another test. do people keep testing to make sure everything's ok? For how long? you've made me consider it now!! Confused

Anyway, a bit about me... this is my first pregnancy, have been TTC for 2 months. Realised I might be pregnant on our first wedding anniversary last week! Thought I'd wait until after Christmas to do a test, and have been putting it off in case I was wrong!!! Have been feeling a bit nauseous and tired. I think my due date is 2/9/11. I haven't been on a Mumsnet thread before, but have been reading and have learnt a lot about conception so thought I'd join in!!!

I suppose I should book an appointment with the doctor. Will it be closed today though?!!

Looking forward to getting to know everyone else on the September bus! Good luck everybody!

backintraining · 31/12/2010 11:22

Hello all, may I join this lovely thread.

We are so lucky as this was our first month of TTC (mum keeps telling me I'm from "fertile stock" ha ha) and I tested this morning and it was positive, although I've kind of suspected for a few days - horrible taste in mouth, strange feeling, knackered beyond belief etc etc. I'm guessing due date is around mid-Sept!

This will be our second baby, we have DS who is 23 months.

Just as a side issue, I'd love everyone to keep their fingers crossed for a lonnnnnnnng boring pregnancy with a huge bambino at the end - DS was 7wks prem as I got pre-eclampsia so whilst am over the moon, am also a little bit scared.

Am so happy to be on the September bus though and healthy happy pregnancies to you all.xx.

MrsSawyer · 31/12/2010 12:25

jimmijam, the mumsnet calculator says im due on 14th, so for now im going with that :) and wrt your mum, its such a shame she cant/wont share in your happiness, but please know we're all in it together here on the Sept bus, so feel free to come and chat.

Happy new year everyone and healthy and happy pregnancies for all of us Grin

jimmijam · 31/12/2010 19:26

looking at puschairs?
maternity clothes?
or is it just me?!

Shootingstar100 · 31/12/2010 20:44

jimmijam, I'm too afraid to do any of the things you mentioned!! I think I'm going to be a real worrier, maybe cos it's my first time!! Part of me thinks I've been too lucky conceiving so quickly so I'm afraid something might go wrong! Seeing doctor next Friday so hopefully that will help!!

Annie456 · 31/12/2010 22:32

Hi Ladies, I've just been re-dated to Sept 1st so would love to join your bus!!

A bit about me: I'm 28, been married to DH for 8 months, live in London and it's out first month TTC and my first pg! I found out on 22nd December but have to admit ive done a couple of tests since then. I am just terrified something will go wrong so if my symptoms dissapear I get paranoid!!!!

So far I've had sore boobs and tiredness - I had bad cramping during week 4 but thats pretty much gone now. Just waiting for the sickness....argh! Here's to 2011 and taking things a week at a time!

Shootingstar100 · 01/01/2011 10:31

hi nannyl - welcome and congratulations!

Happy New Year everyone! Here's to a happy and healthy 2011 - an exciting year for us all!

p.s. Anyone feel like they have a hangover even though they haven't touched a drop?! I have a headache, horrible taste in my mouth and feel sick!! Oh the irony!!

100years · 01/01/2011 12:44

Hey nannyl :) another face I recognise :) I was about to put a link in the other thread when I saw you had posted in here.

Congratulations to all the new people in here :)

I spent the new year working hard! And then at about half 1 rushing out to the loo to do some more fake puking, then again twice before the end of my shift.

It's no wonder preg ladies feel tired... if they can't sleep because they feel keep waking up feeling sick. That is me. Waking within a few hours of going to bed, feel sick, have a biscuit, drink, sleep, wake and so the cycle goes on!

I had sex for the first time since I found out this morning, as I had been too scared, is everyone else still carrying on as normal, or not?
