100 years

I havent let OH in my since i thought i might be pg. I know its irrational, and it cant hurt but i cant help worrying about what if it does

raspberrytart · 01/01/2011 17:29

Hi,
Can I join in?
I have no idea when my lmp was as we had given up all hope of getting pregnant, but think it was around the beginning of Dec.
Got an approx due date if 7th Sept.

Got feelings of utter excitement mixed with worry as I had a m/c last nov.
This will be dc2,dc1 is 5.
I am 39!
Sore boobs and sleeping lots and lots.Have told best friend, mil and will tell my mum when she visits tomorrow!

holycrapolla · 01/01/2011 20:05

it's so nice to see that everyone else is feeling a bit eratic because i'm driving myself mad!!

i've still got no symptoms apart from slightly achey boobs but my 4th test ( clearblue are gonna make a fortune out of me in the next few weeks! ) was still a definite positive with a guess at 3 weeks+ and the due date calculator gave me a date of the 2nd september ( my OH birthday!! ) so alls sticking at the mo!! So excited but still just gobsmacked that it's happened first month!

Is everyone else still feeling like the tests might be wrong?!

jimmijam · 01/01/2011 21:24

Just 2 say, had sex 2day and did so all thru 1st 2 pregnancies. Just go 4 a wee soon after 2 reduce risk of cystitis.

100years · 02/01/2011 02:54

Raspberry, welcome to the thread and congrats :)

holycrapolla, I'm on 8 tests so far, 3 more tests left in the house, I'm trying not to use them given the fact I'm feeling very sick and my boobs are in a whole world of their own!!! Plus I'm super tired!

jimmijam, thanks. :) So far nothing bad has happened since we had sex, which is what I was irrationally thinking it might, even though I have read and know that that's wrong. My boobs are bigger and sorer again and I'm again awake in the middle of the night being icky.

Yep the symptoms are not disappearing, and are getting worse, cannot lie on my front for the pain, and am waking every night feeling sick, fell asleep on the settee yesterday afternoon, might be spending most of my time doing that for a while!

Ilovekittyelise · 02/01/2011 07:55

Hi guys

I have tentatively been watching the thread but a little scared to say hi due to some previous problems (a termination in August for T21 and a very early MC last month).

Anyhow, 3 days and 4 tests later I'm here. I've never had an early positive before but got a 1-2 weeks on the clearblue digital 3 days before missed period. today its up to 2-3 weeks on day of missed period so am feeling re-assured (the insomnia and nausea should really be enough to make me realise this one's doing a little better).

Well I must be due on Sept 11 (last month's would have been due a year to the day since the termination, seems i cant win with dates but if the baby's healthy i dont give a crap when its born!)

100 years you should change your name to 100 tests....i have one clearblue digital left. im going to use it on thursday to check its hit 3+, otherwise i shall buy more! i know people say the indicator isnt that reliable but in terms of showing a trend of rising HCG it wouldnt be on the market if it didnt do just that - ok so it responds to ranges and they may vary for person to person and hence give the wrong number of weeks but i fundamentally trust that if the weeks are up, the HCG is up (using FMU of course, nice) big paranoid rant.

hope we are all here for the duration.

Thanks for welcoming me on the bus - and welcome to the other ladies aswell.

We announced to our families on New Years Eve (thought it would be an opportune moment as they were all together). Know it is very early days but I have to tell work this week so didn't want work knowing and family/friends not knowing...... the only slight dampner was my delightful mum (who is delightful 99% of the time, but that 1% can be a real stinker).... when we had DS1 we went to my parents first to tell them but they weren't in so we told MIL and then went back to my parents. This time the first words out of mum's mouth weren't 'congratulations etc' they were: "I thought I would get to know first, I am a little disappointed." Angry

backintraining · 02/01/2011 09:53

Oh...... Happy New Year to you all btw!!

ssmile · 02/01/2011 12:44

Howdie, Can I join too. Did an early test on the 30th was positive and then a second test today and yep still postive. But then I think I already knew with boobs the size of melons (they were already huge to begin with) sods law I had just bought 3 new lovely bras as a xmas present to myself and with in days they do not fit :o This will hopefully be baby No2 after trying for 18mths. DD will be 4 in April.

ssmile · 02/01/2011 12:46

Does anyone know if at 38 you have to see a consultant midwife or can you still be managed by the local midwife out of the GP surgery. This is baby2 so if I can avoid the trek to the hospital for most checkups I would prefer it as my midwife last time was great and we really got on well, but someone mentioned once you go over the dreadful 35yrs of age you automatically become "old mum" and need to be monitored at the hospital.

backintraining · 02/01/2011 13:14

ssmile I don't know if it makes a difference depending on the area you are in but my friend is 43 and had her two boys in very quick succession (15mo between the two, youngest is 8mo)and she was seen by our local midwife from our surgery and she had two home births so there certainly wasn't an added spotlight on her because of her age.

Congratulations btw!!

awopbopaloobop · 02/01/2011 20:51

Hello all
May I join y'all? Just got my first bfp this afternoon! DH is prostrated on the sofa recovering from the shock of it all, it's our first month properly ttc so didn't really expect anything...Have been feeling 'funny' for a couple of days, culminating on new year's eve when I was not at all in the party mood, just wanted to sleep! Thought maybe it was just too much driving around and being away from home but clearly not...Due date calculator says 10 September.
Oh, no symptoms except MASSIVE boobs, watery mouth and funny feeling in my tum.

100years · 03/01/2011 09:52

Welcome ssmile and awop :)

How is everyone doing?

I'm feeling quite irrationally scared at the earliness of the pregnancy and hoping everything is still OK in there. There have been a few tears, which isn't really going to help anything, but I can't seem to stop myself. In my head I know that whatever will happen will happen, if it's good then worrying won't help, if it's not good then worrying is also not going to help.

My symptoms are different everyday in their strength. Today for example it's all a leeetle bit easier, which I should be pleased about, but I want to feel them all the time at the moment! There is no pleasing some people hey!

Went out with some friends last night for a curry, ended up being sat by the radiator which was on quite high, ended up feeling really sick and having an episode of fake puking after my main course! Still managed to eat some pudding a little while later! LOL Swapped places with my OH and felt better after that :)

exciteddotcom · 03/01/2011 13:30

Hi Guys,

Congratulations to you all. Have just posted in the conception thread but just realised, er, I am actually pregnant, so probably don't belong there!

Got my first BFP on NYE- and second this morning. Yay! Due 5th September I think!

Boobs are huge and sore, just been to buy some over the shoulder boulder holders from Primark, which are not very feminine but so comfy!

Am so nervous. I just want to tell people, but it's still so early. I am a little bit in denial i think- was our first 'timed' attempt and it seems so unlikely to happen first time!

Had a slow wander through a baby section in M&S today, but refused to let myself get excited or touch! So worried about baby not sticking.

Lovely to meet you all. And good luck for the next 12 weeks. x

pinkvicki · 03/01/2011 14:48

Hello everyone & congratulations!

Can I get on the September baby bus too?

Got my first BFP on 28th Dec and done another 2 BFP's since then just to make sure! EDD is 4th September.

I'm 33 & have 1 DD 22 months....really worried how I will cope with 2 close together though. Know this sounds really silly but I kept seeing 3 Magpies together on Christmas Day so am convinced I'm having another DD!!

I know I should know this but do you need to book in with your GP before th Midwife as I seem to remember the GP visit being a complete waste of time before as he didn't do anything?

Looking forward to sharing the highs and lows over the next few months x

jimmijam · 03/01/2011 15:03

Hello and welcome all newbies,il update stats soon. Having 2 close 2gether, theres 17months between ours, the 1st few months were incredibly hard 4 us,bt wen it clicked it was gr8 and we've had about 3years of them being best friends! A couple of ppl on here have sed theyr close 2 a brotheR/sister and r close in age. Cant b that bad as wen this 1s born we'l have 3 under 5!my symptoms seemed 2 die down a lot yesterday,am now nowhere nr as tired and feel mre with it. :-)

jazz412 · 03/01/2011 15:12

Can I join too! :)
I tested on NYE and the next morning as I couldn't believe it! I've been feeling sicky and some things smell horrible, my boobs are sore and heavy and I was slightly worried about mild crampy feelings but I've been reassured that it could just be stretching and growing (I am gorwing a person afterall!) Was very paranoid though so tested again today with clearblue digi and it says pregnant 3+ which means I'm 5+ weeks :D
I'm engaged to a wonderful man and we're both over the moon as we've been together for over 5 years but at the moment we're both at university so I think I'll have to have a year out! Definitely worth it thought :)
DD: 05/09/11 (I think although it might be earlier as I thought I was 4 weeks not 5+ :S)
I haven't been to the docs yet because of bank holidays etc, has everyone else (also what do they do when you go to the docs? first baby :) although did have a miscarriage last year which is probs why I'm paranoid!)
Sorry for the length!!
xxx

jazz412 · 03/01/2011 15:12

PS CONGRATULATIONS MUMs TO BE ! x

holycrapolla · 03/01/2011 16:35

Welcome everyone..it's so nice to hear that we're all having the same worries and concerns..and apart from my OH i've not told anyone yet so is lovely to come on here and actually say out I'M PREGNANT!!!

Whens everyone planning on announcing the news? i was hoping to wait until Mothers Day to do the family announcement but i really don't know if we can wait that long...i'm feeling like a bit of a fatty now so good knows how huge i'll be by April!

Still no symptoms, i had awful morning sickness with the first 2 and went off tea immediately but i've not had either yet, think i'll actually feel better when i'm feeling awful! Will book an appointment with the docs tomorrow, get the ball rolling and try to make this feel a bit more real!

Hppy New Year all - have a feeling 2011 is going to be eventful for us all!

exciteddotcom · 03/01/2011 17:08

Crapolla, that is a lovely idea to wait til Mother's Day- I'm not sure I could wait that long- i think i'll be about 17 weeks by then.

I think i'll tell family and friends as soon as I've had the first scan- that's at 12 weeks isn't it? Is there anyway of telling if things are 'normal' in between now and then? Confused

holycrapolla · 03/01/2011 17:19

i'm really not sure when the first scan is i'm afraid excited, it's been 8 years since i was last pregnant so am sure things are a bit different now! It should be somewhere between 12 and 16 weeks as far as i remember, and i think until then you just have to trust your body and hope that all the horrible symptoms are a good sign - and test every 5 mins as i seem to be doing!

100years · 03/01/2011 17:38

Yay some more newly upduffed ladies in here :)

I've told immediate family and a couple of close friends. Other than that I'm going to wait as long as I can, preferably till after my first scan, but I have been sick off and on so far and there is only a limited amount of time that I will be able to use the 'new tablets' excuse. Especially at work when I keep rushing out to the loo. Been a lot better today, but I've had days like this only to be followed by a day of numerous fake puking episodes.

Second trimester starts 22nd Feb for me. Which is only next month!

Prob see the docs tomorrow. If only for someone else to say to me 'you're pregnant' And yes those 2 lines on the 10 tests you have done are real!

100years · 03/01/2011 17:41

10 tests in 10 days including the first day I found out, along with symptoms, I need to start trusting it.

I swing from one side to the other.

I will probably be the irrational neurotic one amongst us!!!

exciteddotcom · 03/01/2011 18:13

Can you use the tests to keep checking? I defo will if that works! Good tip!

jimmijam · 03/01/2011 18:19

i believe you have 1st scan between 10-12 weeks but obv depends how busy they are, i think last time around we were at about 14 weeks. theyll geve u a more definate due date then 2.

am i being crazy, or am i teh only 1 who...
always feels wet down there? Blush
(not excited wet either, heehee, and also not wet myself. lots of cm)

already lookin 'a bit fat' in the tummy?
