september baby bus

hiya, ive just left the september bus 4 conception, thought id start a september baby bus.
we can all share the ups and downs, sickness, cravings and scans together

a bit about me.
myself and dh have a 4yr old dd, and 3yr old ds and this baby should be due around 7th sept

exciteddotcom I'm not sure, it's more because I am neurotic and just like to see the line appearing. I have hopefully stopped now. I am upduffed for sure!

jimmijam, I had a bit of cm the other day which led to a trip to the loo to have a check it was only cm and nothing else, I've heard a few people have that. I measured myself in the morning and have already gained 1 1/4 inch on my pot tummy and 1.5inches on my boobs, however I've just measured myself this evening and the gain has doubled for both, I reckon the evenings are the worst!!!

Just fell asleep watching a TV programme with my OH, I had only been asleep a minute as I was watching the clock as I knew I might and wanted to wait till the end! Oops.

We've done lots of house sorting, I've not lifted anything :) Being a good girl.

Hi everyone! Welcome and congratulations to the new passengers on the bus.

Exciteddotcom, I'm really tempted to get some more tests too! Keep thinking what if I'm not pregnant anymore? If I had an early miscarriage would I know? It's hard not being paranoid!!

I rang the surgery and they said I needed to go and fill in some forms, when they realised it was my first pregnancy they made an appointment for me to see the doctor, but I've no idea what he'll say / do!!!

Haven't told anyone apart from DH and hoping to keep it that way until after the scan. Just hope no one in work guesses in the meantime. Have been feeling quite sicky off and on, but as I'm on holiday it doesn't matter too much. Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow - think it's going to be a struggle to get up!!!

Feel like I've put weight on already, but that's probably due to Christmas over-eating!!

One quick question? Is it ok to keep going to running club? It's starting back next week. Don't know if I'll even feel like going, but I'm sure I've read somewhere that it's ok to keep exercising during first trimester?

From memory dr just tells u 2 take folic acid and that a midwife will b in touch,bt diff. Drs r diff. This time i spoke 2 dr on phone. I have 2 ring surgery 2 get receptionist 2 put me in touch with midwife. Booking apt with midwife they go thru family medical histories and take blood pressure. I think they also do blood tests-iron levels etc. And give u a pot to take urine samplr to every midwife apt. They check it to make sure uv not got diabetes i think. They write it in a green file that u keep and take to every baby related apt. Hope that helps

just rang dr surgery, midwife should be in touch sometime after she next goes into the surgery (i have no idea when that will b).

I now have a midwife, she was going to come next Friday (like you nanny) but I am working, so it's in a fortnight. Shock wow and she comes to my house.

Like you said, getting real now.

hi everyone

i have one boy who is 9
one boy who is 8
one little girl-5 months

and did preg test yesterday -positive-went gps today......early days yet-no one knows except hubby and hubbys stepmum.
mid wife booked for in 2 weeks.

due around 2nd sept

Unexpectedly expecting! Have a little girl of 10 months, go back to work in 6 weeks (guilt guilt guilt).

Due very approximately 1st September.

Wow!! Can't believe how many are already on the September bus - how fantastic!! Congratulations to all.

jimmijam - I thought it was just me being paranoid, I keep feeling like that down below and have been doing a lot of checking today for some reason. I don't think I was this paranoid with DS, although maybe I was and have just forgotten!!

Shootingstar - exercise is meant to be fine all the way through pregnancy, especially if its an activity that you've done before you found out you were pg. It's not going to be a shock to the system to go out with your running club if its something you do. I think the general advice is to take it steady but still do something. I doubt the medical experts would recommend running a marathon at full speed, but some jogging shouldn't hurt.

I phoned the Docs today but have got to wait until next Monday for the midwife to phone me back to decide what they're going to do with me as I am a high-risk pregnancy. I don't know if I'll be midwife led or Consultant led (or a mixture of both!)

I tested today and got a BFP am already planning on popping out and buying more tests as it still doesnt feel real! My EDD is 13th Sept (13 days before my DS turns 3!).

Early tests didn't show up, but after 3 tests yesterday and today (diff.brands) which all showed faint positive, I'm allowing myself to believe it and celebrate. I've 2 lovely boys (3 and 2), so looking forward to adding to the brood

Emoo77 - I was in the same position as you with my 2nd pregnancy. Got pg with DS2 when DS1 was only 10 mths old, went back to work already pg! Felt bad, but not for long (family comes first!) x

Hi all
Just updated my bit, hope not cut anyone off, still getting to grips with this MN lark after happily lurking on the conception threads since the summer.

It'll be our first - got married last May but been together for 9 years this year so I guess we should be ready for a family but I think we're both feeling a bit mixed emotions - I guess because it all happened so fast.

Anyway, so lovely to have all you ladies to share it with. Also not told anyone, just close family.

Rang dr today, booked in with midwife for 1-hour initial appointmt at the surgery - in 2 weeks' time which feels like a lifetime away. xx

awopbopaloobop a 1 hour inital appointment? That sounds like quite a long time- did they say what they'll do, is that too early for blood tests etc?

Wen i rang up 2day the receptionist said itd b a 1hour initial apt,suppose they have 2 go thru a fair bit. I was consultant lead last time, not sure about this time tho. 1st was emergency c-section- prolonged 2nd stage, 9lb 5oz baby facing wrong way. 2nd was natural birth bt he went on resusitair as had mucus on lungs. Both happy and healthy now! Dont fancy lots of trips 2 hospital 2 c consultant, tho if its best then wot will b will b. Didnt put in as much effort as usual,or play 4 as long,bt did do just dance 2 on the wii 2day. Am sure i remember an episode of sex and the city where 1 of them ran throughout her pregnancy? Tho thats only a tv show!

Told my antenatal class from last time around - they thought it was hilarious (I am the first to have a second!).
Am convinced I am massively showing already! Still on maternity leave and hope I don't bump into anyone from work before it becomes official..
