I had a lovely 3WHOLE hrs to myself this arvo. did some sewing on a dress I started 3mths ago but not got any further on. was supposeed to be a summer maxim dress to go over the bump. I'm90% there now so hope get it finished now before pregnancy ends! that was the first kids birthday party my dh had been to in 4yrs so not that well trained!

recklesspixie · 11/07/2011 21:46

hello all! am 30 weeks now and have a scan tomorrow so hopefully will find out the sex, fingers crossed! Am very lucky cos I'm on my summer holidays from school (primary teacher) have 9 weeks hols then straight into my maternity leave on 1st September Grin Loving the time off, don't know how Id cope if I still had to go in. Buying a big freezer this week, planning to make loads of dinners and soups and freeze them til baby arrives. Have ordered pram and car seat, don't really have much else and have nothing for my bag for labour and hospital stay. Met a girl from my pregnancy pilates class today, she had her baby last week after a 3 day labour followed by a c section Shock

jimmijam · 12/07/2011 06:07

Haha ive done the same, we brought a.slim chest freezer and ive started cooking up meals and scooping portions in2 freezer bags. So far just lasagne. Can u freeze homemade soup if evaporated milk is used in it?

CBear6 · 12/07/2011 09:28

What stage do you add the milk at? I make a soup where milk is the final ingredient just a few minutes before serving so I scoop out the amount for the freezer and then add the milk to the bit being eaten there and then. When heating up the freezer batch I just add the milk as it cooks.

jimmijam · 12/07/2011 15:04

I fry up the onion, mushrooms and anything else im shoving in it then cook it in a tin of evap milk so would have 2 b frozen with the milk in. X

recklesspixie · 12/07/2011 17:57

don't know about freezing evaporated milk...

Had scan this afternoon and I'm having a boy! Everyone said I was definately having a girl cos my bump is all to the front but I had a little inkling it was a boy, we're delighted Grin had thought I wanted a girl but I'm delighted now!

ssmile · 12/07/2011 18:58

recklesspixie when i was expecting my DD every lady in the antenatal group had there baby before me so I heard lots scary stories before I went in. It did make me realise it doesn't always go according to plan especially when labour wards are busy but We all came out with healthy babies. All you can do is plan &gather as much information as poss &be assertive including your birth partner when your too tired to be.

ssmile · 12/07/2011 18:59

Fab a boy glad all ok!

MissTriangle · 12/07/2011 19:00

Congratulations recklesspixie!!!
My bump is all over and I am having a girl- so you can never tell! We weren't going to find out- but am so glad I did as it has made me picture her better, and have loved thinking of names and shopping for bits etc. Also I am an impatient little madam and it would have killed me not knowing. Wink
You can buy some blue bits and pieces now x

CBear6 · 12/07/2011 20:12

Congratulations recklesspixie!

I had a "fun" morning at the MAU after my little toad darling decided to go on a kick strike. I hadn't felt her since yesterday afternoon so went in. They picked up a heartbeat straight away and left me on the trace for a little while, she's perfectly happy in there and I felt a bit stupid for being a wibbly mess but the staff were lovely - said they'd rather see wibbly me reassured than miss picking up on a baby in distress.

The reason I wasn't feeling her? She's lying diagonally with her bum pointed at my righthand-side ribs and her head pointed at my left hip, leaving her body directly behind the (anterior) placenta, plus she's facing my back so all the kicks are going inwards rather than outwards. My bump is measuring 31cm too which goes along with me being 31wks, my bump with DS was measuring 35cm at this point so I'm hopeful she's going to be smaller :)

jimmijam · 13/07/2011 08:02

Have u all got growth charts? I havent but would love 1, tho with only about 3 checkups left i doubt theres any point now. Less than 8weeks left til due day :-) dh's cousin had a boy yesterday by planned c-section. Hes sooo cute :-)

nunnie · 13/07/2011 08:07

Hello not posted on here for ages, think it is all finally sinking in with just over 10 weeks left.
I have a growth chart that is being filled in but only because I have had 1 SGA baby previously. My other 2 charts for previous two were never filled in.
Just over 4 weeks till I find out if I can have VBAC very exciting stuff. Apart from that nothing else happening here.

Hope everyone is fine and dandy and keeping themselves busy in the few weeks they have left.

CBear6 · 13/07/2011 09:32

I have a growth chart but the MW hasn't filled it in so I've been doing it myself, just putting a cross on the relevant line each time I'm measure (which is only twice so far). I'm measuring more or less spot on for both of those times whereas with DS I was always ahead.

8 weeks on Sunday until due date, I keep telling DH it could be as little as five weeks though just to keep him on his toes :)

jimmijam · 13/07/2011 10:23

Cbear6 were due 3rd sept, ru due the same day?

Sumi76 · 13/07/2011 11:14

Hope everyone is doing well. Nunnie Its finally sinking in too that only 10 weeks left - feel so unprepared !!! Getting as much sleep as i can and going to the cinema to watch any and every movie coz I know these will be luxuries :)

Are you guys enjoying your nct classes ?

CBear6 · 13/07/2011 11:40

11th September for me Jimmijam, DH's birthday is on the 10th and it's his 30th to boot - he's convinced he's going to be spending it in the delivery room!

ssmile · 13/07/2011 12:25

jimmijam I due 3rd Sept but booked in for 26th Aug for C-sec unless something happens before!
Its all gettting very real now. i orderd some bits from Asda with my groceries as they had breast pads, cotton wool & maternity towels on offer. Also had reasonable priced bottle brushes and other stuff if anyone interested. 2 weeks left at work and counting......

jimmijam · 13/07/2011 14:40

5 shifts at work left once 2day is over :-).think.i'll start shopping online 4 food 2. Do u know if pcado is any good?

ssmile · 13/07/2011 19:47

I've used sainsburys &asda online both fine &god send now as really struggle to push trolley &control 4yr old DD at same time. Fab if u need big stuff like nappies, washing powder, tins etc. Took me hr for first order now can do in 15mins if I have mostly what I ordered last time. Vuseful if have new baby I hope! I started using them adhoc 2yrs ago when hurt my back &couldnt drive.

jimmijam · 14/07/2011 16:56

Ive used asda once a few months ago wen they had a good baby sale but wanted 2 find one with a shorter delivery slot as it can.get complicated with kids nursey and school times. Yes, will b a godsend!

ssmile · 14/07/2011 19:08

Sainsburys have 1hr slots here and if you spend more than £50 delivery charge is £3.50. Which is why I use them but Asda groceries are cheaper.

jimmijam · 15/07/2011 08:01

Ooh that sounds good, thnx! Last night got some sharp pains in pelvic area, going down the crease (not sure what else 2 call it) at the top of legs. This morning its not as painful but still there and also in my lower tummy and just below. Am sure i had it last time around, just dont remember it. Has anyone else had anything like this?

ssmile · 15/07/2011 20:05

Had discomfort right in groin Physio said it can be SPD. I didn't have it with 1st but this time can actually feel pelvis unstable if I move too quick. Have to legs together when moving out of car or getting of sofa etc.
Fed up &sorry for myself tonight nursing cold I think. Sore throat head ache my DD had it all wk so guess was gonna get it but just don't have any spare energy to deal with it and life. Fell asleep at 5pm after giving DD diner &putting tv on for her. She woke me up after 15mins I hadn't realised id gone! Could slept for an hr easily. Off to bed now its 8pm hoping for some sleep....

jimmijam · 16/07/2011 08:57

ssmile · 16/07/2011 14:10
