mmm ice lollies. ive brought one of those things 2 go in the freezer so we can make our own ice lollies (im rather addicted 2 fruit juices at the mo, they make a gr8, cheap lolly)

also, 2 try and get the kids eating the veg they dont touch on their plates we've dug out the juicer (love that u dont have 2 even peel the fruit anymore!)-yesterday we had beetroot, ginger, lemon, broccoli, spinach, apple and strawberry juice-and they drank it!!!! sounds gross but couldnt taste the veg and it was actually rather nice. plan 2 do that most days now.

well, i'm now on a weeks holiday, followed bymy final 2 weeks of work before 3 weeks holiday leasing straight into maternity leave (if i can ever get hold of a MATB1!) very exited 2 b counting down the days now :-) a whole 9 months off!!

how long has everyone else got?

ssmile · 03/07/2011 20:01

4wks at work then 3wks leave before C-sec really counting down the wks now. Plan to have year off. I only had 7.5mths with DD first time around and even though going back to work was hard it dragged me out of feeling lost gave me back an identity. Hoping I enjoy this mat leave more as know that the sleep exhaustion does end eventually and to cut myself some slack with everything else in the first few months!

CBear6 · 03/07/2011 21:20

30 weeks exactly here, I've got another week of Annual Leave and officially start my maternity leave next Monday. I'm not going back to work after this one so decided to have five weeks annual leave and then start my maternity leave at 31 weeks and make the most of some quality time with DS while he's still my one and only chick. So far this has involved me hogging his paddling pool and taking him on lots of outings to random places. It's great :)

Got a proper bump now but it seems titchy in the morning, huge by mid-afternoon, and incredibly massive by bedtime. I'm sure she's inflating in there!

Is everyone prepared? I'm feeling really disorganised with my baby things.

Glimmerberry · 04/07/2011 22:25

I'm not very organised, mainly because work has been a bit demanding. Frequently doing 10 and 12 hour days 5 days per week then every other Sat too. Need to start winding down and get prepared.

We've got a cot, pram and changer/ drawers in the nursery. I'm waiting for a bed nest to arrive but absoloutely none of the smaller items like clothes, bathing, feeding stuff etc...not even a mattress for the cot...

We moved house at 26 weeks and the rest of the house is really disorganised at the moment, if i can just get the nursery feeling a bit more done i'll be happy with that.

Im also finding that the bump (and calves, and boobs) gets bigger at the end of the day. I can't believe i can possibly get bigger.

ssmile · 05/07/2011 19:48

Getting organised slowly. Have moved crib &change unit into our bedroom. Washed some clothes from loft &pushchair bits. I need to think about hospital bags next as keep thinking this baby could come early. Which is mad as I thought that with DD but she was 15 o/due in the end :o

Sorry phone posted twice opps!

jimmijam · 07/07/2011 19:37

i think we have everything we need, apart from nursing bras which i'll get in a couple of weeks. baby clothes all washed, just need 2 set buggy board up on new pushchair.
need to pack hospital bag, last time i packed preparing incase i had another emergancy c-section, but was only in there 4 a day. think i'll pack enough for 1 mayb 2 days then leave a list at home of things 4 dh 2 take 2 us if we do end up staying longer.
im sure my bumos getting smaller, crazy as it sounds. had midwife appt today just 2 get MATB1, asked 4 growth chart aswell-but they still havent got 1 4 me, with only about 3 appointments left til lil one arrives not sure theres any point getting 1 now mind. had different midwife 2 usual 2day, she was lovely, found heartbeat and told me how babies lying. dd and ds were both quite late moving head down, after reading it generally gets later with each pregnancy was expecting it 2 b a while of yet, but.....number 3 is head down-explains a few things! i def want 2 get prepared now!
found a new obi tens machine on ebay 4 less than the price of hiring one, it arrived yesterday, will test it on dh 2moro-need something 2 distract me on the 45minute (assuming theres no traffic or roadworks) journey 2 hospital! hoping there wont b a road closure on the way-as tehres only one main route 2 get there, can take up to 6hours the other way if lots of traffic :-(

CBear6 · 07/07/2011 23:09

I got some bits for my hospital bag yesterday. Two chemise nighties in a stretchy cotton jersey type fabric - I'm aiming for a shot at the birthing pool so I figure one to get wet and a nice dry one if I decide to get out. I just need to remember to put them on! Last time I had a nightie to deliver in but totally forgot about it, I kicked my trousers into a corner of the delivery room and delivered in one of my nicest maternity tops, DS was delivered onto it. I also got some lovely fluffy socks, a pair of flip flops, and some mini toiletries.

I got them all from Primark if anyone is looking for some bargains - £6 for the two pack of nighties and I just got a size bigger than normal because they're so stretchy, £2 for the two pack of socks, and the flip flops were reduced from £4 to £1.

I bought a gym ball today, been sitting on it and it helps my back so much. Anyone know what's good and what's not when using one? I've just been lightly bouncing and rocking.

chinateacup · 07/07/2011 23:48

I did the whole Primarni thing last time too - brilliant. I have just realised (in a thunderbolt moment, although i have known for a while) that i have to get a fit to fly cert (fingers crossed), 2 weeks hols followed immediately after by a long-distance house move (great planning I know), handover at work, and settling DS1 in new nursery before I can think about giving birth. I think I am exactly the same dates as you CBear. Gulp what the hell have I let myself in for. PMA seems to be swapping places with a general desire to sit and/or weep at the moment!

chinateacup · 07/07/2011 23:49

Sad I just want to dress the nursery and pack my hospital bag

chelseaannejolley · 08/07/2011 01:29

hello everyone im due September 24th with my first and having a little princess ! im 29 weeks now and find that everything is coming all at once for me , through my pregnancy so far i havnt really been ill or anything but in the last 2 weeks or so i have been feeling proper low, sick and in pain a lot, also having trouble sleeping its all getting me really down at the min because not used to it any advice on how to feel better x

CBear6 · 08/07/2011 08:43

You sound full of busy China! Enjoy your holiday though :) I think we are the same dates, 11th September?

Welcome to the bus Chelsea

jimmijam · 08/07/2011 11:12

Glad u could join us chelsea. I think pregnancy does get harder further along. If ur feeling sick u could try and avoid 3 big meals and have more smaller dishes thru the day instead. Our tummies r getting a bit squished

yummymango · 08/07/2011 14:35

hi all hope everyone is good.

I haven't even started thinking about my hospital bag yet, I am 29 weeks am I very late?? Great tips about Primark for all that stuff as well so thanks.

I bought some cute all-in-ones from TKMaxx today. They didn't have much, it's a bit hit and miss but some of the stuff was ok.

Starting to get tired now and having quite a lot of pelvic pain but otherwise fine and dandy and looking forward to the weekend :)

jimmijam · 08/07/2011 15:26

Started packing bag today. Still need to get a few bits, like snacks, but all baby stuff is done. Think im prob quite early but have been paranoid 4 a while now that this one will b early, esp already being head down when our 1st 2 were quite late getting ready 4 birth. Im sure he/she will b late now but id rather b prepared. Looking 4ward 2 seeing the new harry potter film soon :-)

CBear6 · 08/07/2011 16:37

You're not at all late Yummy! I'm 31 weeks this weekend and I've started buying bits I needed but haven't actually put them in the bag yet, with DS I think I did my bag at around 33/34 weeks. I've got three bloody bags to do this time! My bag, a dad-bag for DH, and an overnight bag for DS.

I sorted through DS's old clothes and kept everything that was even vaguely unisex but then I bought things and got given things and now I have too much so I need to trim through the box of hand-me-downs.

I can't wait to see the new Harry Potter Jimmijam, I'm planning to not drink anything for a week beforehand so I can watch it without needing a trip to the loo part way through :) When we went to see the previous one I was newly pregnant but didn't know it and I kept nipping out to be sick, blamed it on dodgy popcorn/a bug/being overtired.

jimmijam · 09/07/2011 07:20

Hadnt thought of that. How long is this 1? Ive had a couple of nights this week of getting up about 10 times a night, dont know where it all comes from!

BigBabyBoots · 09/07/2011 08:58

Is anyone else making as many lists as I am? I keep finding them everywhere!

Feel like I'm starting my leave early. Off from Monday at exactly 29 weeks but have 4 weeks annual leave to take so maternity leave will start at 33 weeks. I had wanted to last a lot longer but I'm just so darned knackered! I second the rib pain, plus back pain, plus leg pain and OUCH - what's with the night time leg cramps?!?!

We're having a boy, and he's impossible to plot on a kick chart...

jimmijam · 09/07/2011 12:49

Haha i think its a boy thing, im sure theyre bigger mire painful kickers!! What is with the leg cramps?!?!?

ssmile · 09/07/2011 18:54

Heehe I'm a list maker too as brain just can't retain stuff lately. I even struggle to read a book been reading more magazines instead.
I've had leg cramps I was advised to stretch leg muscles before bed &bananas might help the potassium in them plus lots fluids. But then you end up getting up more to wee &thus move legs so may be its that! Hope they ease for you mine have eased a bit last few nights.

CBear6 · 09/07/2011 20:31

I've been spared the leg cramps so far (fingers crossed) but instead have awful heartburn and I keep waking up in the middle of the night with the back of my throat and nose stinging with a sour-burning acid taste. Yuck.

jimmijam · 10/07/2011 07:40

Boo smashed the screen on my phone this morning. Completely exhausted wen the kids got up early and forgot i was holding it, dropping it on the floor (phone not kids, i cant carry them anymore)! Pur little man was up all fri night with a bug, and guess who was up with him....and who else got a lie in sat morning (dh). I dont want 2 have 2 kick him out the bed everytime i neeeeed a lie in, would like him 2 offer occasionally. I get about 1 a month, he gets 4-5 every week. I know its not a competition but sometimes really gets 2 me, esp as 4 the last few months he seems 2 have forgotten.wot houswork is :-( someone pls cheer me up and tell.me sum of ur good news, or wot ur most excited about. Sorry about the typos and ... Instead.of my thumbs 2 big 4 these tiny buttons and the screen moves much slower than i type

ssmile · 10/07/2011 12:58

Dd is at a party this afternoon 2, hoping 2b able 2 bring ds home 4 a couple of hours, dont fancy watching a gang of 5yr olds run about! (esp as the next party i'l have 2 stay at cuz they have a swimming pool in their back garden!) sound like u have ur man well trained with sundays!!!! :-) i think my days of wii and xbox kinect r ova til after birth, am sure i felt baby drop a bit while i was jigging about :-( oh the pressure and the trips 2 the loo!
