Gi1da glad your kit has arrived, cutting it neat though! Hats off, you remained very calm about it all.

I've been out shopping today (temperature somewhere between -5 to -10 and so cold it hurts to breath) and all day had a niggling feeling that there would be news on MN tonight from one of the girls at the top. So much for my sixth sense!

Louise nice to hear from you - everyone appreciates you keeping in touch. This is such a horrible time for you, hoping 2011 brings you happiness.

TMT the bra situation is a nightmare. I changed sizes constantly with DD and afterwards again. Before DD I was a 34C, nowadays normally I am a 36DD. Today I was in Bravissimo getting fitted because I have 4 tit in all my bras and the underwire is killing me. I have come away with 36Fs, for crying out loud! She was trying to give me a FF to give me room to grow into but I couldn't accept that, an F is bad enough!

Thanks for all those who replied about the amoxicillin. I called the doc and got some, started taking them on Monday. Can still hear pounding but no accompanying headache. Hope all those with various lurgies are better too - my poor DD has missed her nursery show, party with santa and pantomime over the last few days with her rotten cold.

malteser1981 · 23/12/2010 16:22

Anybody got a spare pair of niiples I could borrow? Mine seem to have fallen off.....Wink

Too tired to post, but just to let you all know I am keeping up with the thread and waiting for more good news xx

toomuchteaching · 23/12/2010 17:14

One fifth engaged. All appointments through to stretch and sweep booked. Eeek... I suppose I am having a baby soon!

And so are lots of you!

AlbaDeTamble · 23/12/2010 17:38

Almost wish I was still feeling rotten with my cold for the excuse for a day in bed! I think it was a blessing in disguise, DH did the bulk of the shopping, DSCs helped loads and I'm well rested, but a few hours in the shops today, now I'm feeling better, were hell!!

Anyway, just presents to wrap now... Xmas a day early here as the DSCs with their mum for Xmas day this year (so they get two xmasses!) and DS doesn't know what day it is anyway.

Time to leave out the mince pie and port for father Xmas and put up his stocking and try to get him to sleep!

Merry Christmas to all!!

HappyGirl1 · 23/12/2010 18:15

Happy CHristmas to all - looking forward to some good christmas baby news over the next few days. Best of luck to everyone at the top of the list Smile

Ciara and I are doing well, infection has stopped spreading although still quite sore but it's so worth it so it just doesn't matter. Still unsure what we are doing for Christmas as all depends on the weather.

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 23/12/2010 19:32

happy christmas to all :)

sorry I've been quiet, just don't have much cheerfulness at the moment, my little baby nephew is in special care with pneumonia and really struggling, it's horrible, and I can't go and see him and his mummy because of infection risk :(

VivClicquot · 23/12/2010 20:28

Just a quickie from me to say hi - have been on hols from work all week but have been in a whirlwind of baking and sausage roll making.

malteser - congratulations lovely! And what a lovely birth story. Does your gorgeous boy have a name yet?

Looking forward to hearing more good news over the coming days!

And Louise - i think of you every day and hope that you and your family have a peaceful Christmas. I'll be lighting a candle for all our lost ones tomorrow night, so please know that your Georgie will be remembered here too xx

Love to everyone else, hope you're all getting excited about Santa coming... :o

sparklyrainbow · 24/12/2010 07:32

:( Ivy. Hope he gets better soon

Louise just to add to what Viv has said- thinking of you especially over the next few days. Hope 2011 brings you some good news and a little brother or sister for Georgie.

Alba have a lovely xmas day today!

Just an update from me- spent 6 hours in hospital yesterday and still no baby, although they did threaten to induce me at one point! Went in yesterday morning as hadn't felt roo baby move since 10pm the night before (most unusual). Typically he did a little wiggle as we approached the hospital but had CTG trace.... at which he started being very active to the extent they couldn't get 15 mins straight as he kept wriggling away. Mw convinced he was fine, consultant not as he was so active she thought his resting heartrate was a very high (160ish) and his returns to normal were decelerations. So ended up walking around and having another CTG, still active (120+ movements in half an hour) before being taken up to delivery unit after being told I'd probably be induced. Had another CTG and luckily roo decided being quiet was a good idea and revealed his resting heartrate to be 135-140. Phew! However they still wanted to check everything was fine and ended up having a scan done by senior consultant 'just to be absolutely sure' and of course everything ok. Estimated weight now 8lb4 though Hmm. So 6 hours later finally got to go home! Really glad all well and also that roo decided not to come last night, we were almost expecting I'd go into labour and we'd have to go back again!

Hope everyone is doing ok and have a very happy Christmas- will there be a thread Christmas Day baby? Xmas Smilexx

clareanna · 24/12/2010 08:44

ivy hope your nephew is improving x

sparkly eek!sounds like a scary experience. I am also becoming paranoid about movement and baby usually gives me a shove just when I'm at my most anxious!
hope roo gives you a relaxing Christmas x

half a day at work for me and that's it! I start mat leave -woo hoo!!!

Hope there is a mass baby update soon!

Merry Christmas all xx

Redheadgal · 24/12/2010 17:12

Woot woot! Good news. There is room at the MLU inn for me. The consultant midwife called and they've agreed that (with some guidelines in place) I can give birth in the MLU and not the labour ward. Feel so pleased. Of course it might not work out that way, I may still have to be transferred to the labour ward but at least I have permission to start off in the MLU.

Eeek to Sparkly and huzzah to Clareanna for ML.

Merry Christmas to the rest of you and fingers crossed for a Christmas baby!

Justto say Happy Christmas to everyone.

Big congrats to Malteser.

And big hug to Lousiesh.

BunnyBaby · 25/12/2010 14:34

Hello, merry Christmas all and sorry been quiet. Will do a full name check later.

Congratulations happy and malteser and on all the fantastic scan results.

Happy due date Gilda hope you're well and not too uncomfortable?

We lost one of our pet bunnies last week which was sad. DS1 had his birthday, and we had a breech scare due to difficulties palpating through anterior placenta.

Thankfully following emergency scan, baby as ettained to be head down but estimated at 10.5lbs already. Not too worried about this as lots of friends have had large baby growth scans which have resulted in ordinary sized babies.

Have been getting some serious night time warm ups, bit am pleased to be here celebrating Christmas instead of unexpected c section.

Midwife offered sweep next week which I declined as had 3 with DS1 and none of them worked. And am taking others advice on potential for infection. Will just await induction again if it gets that far, where I know I'll be monitored.

Anyway, back to the Leonidas and secretly envious of new mummies and all the goodies they are allowed.

Gi1da · 25/12/2010 16:35

Quickly popping in to wish all of you a very merry Christmas. xxx

No news here, big wave to Bunny, and all at the top of the list. Xmas Smile

Meita · 25/12/2010 19:48

Happy Christmas to all!

Don't know if I said yet - congratulations Malteser!
Can't wait for news from the top-of-the-list-ers...

Big hugs to Louise in what must be a very hard time. You are in my thoughts.

zayja · 25/12/2010 20:38

Hi Ladies,
Merry Christmas to all. Sorry it took soooo long to update. I am thoroughly exhausted!
Well, our sweet Winona Maye arrived last Sunday at 10:57 AM. She is 20" and weighed 7lbs 11oz. She is healthy as can be and we're adjusting here at home.
I got to have the natural labor that we had wanted and planned for, so am happy about that, although it hurt like hell. Shock Having loads of trouble nursing as she has a tight little latch - nipples scabbed up after one day so am now pumping what I can and supplementing with formula. I added some pics of Winnie to my profile. Midwife took quite a few of me in labor, head crowning and all - quite a sight but neat to have ( I didn't post those!).
Will look over the thread for any new news - just got to posting straight away. Hope all is well!

clareanna · 25/12/2010 21:08

Merry Christmas all!!!

Congratulations zayja lovely news!! Welcome to the world baby Winona!

Keep watching one born every minute wondering if any of the top of the list ladies will appear Grin

StickThemWithThePointyEnd · 26/12/2010 09:42

congratulations zayja! She's lovely :)

sparklyrainbow · 26/12/2010 09:49

Congratulations Zayja she's gorgeous!

Bit of a warm up last night: have told roo he can arrive whenever he likes now and he might like to get a wriggle on (as long as it doesn't involve too many knees/feet as I had them most of last night when the contractions disappeared- but at least he was moving!).

Hope everyone had a good day yesterday and is enjoying the festivities Xmas Smile xx
