Hello all...

Happy, looking forward to some very happy news from you soon... Have the pom poms out this evening cheering you on!

Louise, I'm sure a much less happy day for you today but I hope you did get some helpful answers? Have been thinking of you

Crochet, sounds like you have some good advice already. Sarahlou, I've missed you, ever the voice of reason, calm and helpful.

Good to hear all well with spiderbabies Magic

I'm having a harrumph moment, waiting in the car at DSD's school to collect her from school trip. Don't know what they were thinking taking a group of yr 8 girls to the theatre in london getting back past 11.30!! Am I being unreasonable to think it's rather late for a schoolnight? She's going to be impossible tomorrow... Though quite a good excuse if she does badly in her maths test (for which I think she's a tad underprepared anyway)...
Anyhow, it's way past my schoolnight bedtime (even before I was pg!) so I'm going to be impossible tomorrow too!!
All you teachers... Does this justify a stroppy complaint email to the school? Or is this normal???

Still no sign of them, but on phone so better post before it crashes and I lose my message...

AlbaDeTamble · 09/12/2010 23:39

Oh, and we didn't know about it till a few days ago, was originally on her mum's week... Nice surprise for us when it got rescheduled.

Just had text to say they won't be here till quarter to midnight Angry

zayja · 09/12/2010 23:59

Yea happy ! Hope things keep rolling along smoothly and that babe is here soon!!!

littlemiss72 · 10/12/2010 09:04

Morning all, happy Friday!

Just checking after my 12wk scan yesterday, all went well thank god. Nice healthy little one due 24th June Grin

happy hope thinks are moving along smoothly and your little one is in your arms soon. x

Love to all... in a rush to get to work!

AlbaDeTamble · 10/12/2010 09:23

LittleMiss that's fantastic news, so pleased for you!

sparklyrainbow · 10/12/2010 09:48

Go Happy, looking forward to your news, and yay for littlemiss Grin

Alba agree it is a little late but presumably it was in the original info her mum would have got when she applied for your DSD to go on the trip (in which case I wouldn't complain- however if the times changed when it was rearranged I think that probably would justify it)? Wouldn't like to be a teacher on that trip, yuk! Sounds madness to me. Hope you're coping today.

Had my growth scan yesterday evening, roo baby is apparently 7lb at the moment so not huge (70th percentile), and waters are normal. Which means they're not concerned so I can relax a bit more (and hopefully get to use the MLBU). She couldn't measure his head as it was too low down, fingers crossed that's of some significance, come on little boy...

Hi Owl and waves to everyone, it's almost the weekend :)

toomuchteaching · 10/12/2010 10:48

Ooooh go happy go! Hope things go smoothly... can't wait to hear your news.

And woop for littlemiss and other bits of good news. And welcome to owlbooty.

Crochet I'm inclined to agree with sarahlou's advice. My best work friend (how old am I!?) was pregnant when we went back to work in September, after my MC in August. I told her the situation, and said that I was really happy for her but sad for me, and that I hoped as time went on I'd be able to talk to her more about the pregnancy - in truth at the start it completely tore me apart. In the end I got my BFP on the day her little girl was born, and that made it easier to be happy for her IYSWIM. It was never easy, but I think maybe it helped me to deal with things, and now that I'm pregnant too things are much much better.

Alba sorry you had a late night, I totally see your point, but I guess someone (mum?) agreed to the trip and its timings. I have to say I always aim to avoid those ones, they're such a killer the next day.

One more week of work. I'm so counting down, come on! Got my appointment at the MLU tomorrow, I'm really looking forward to it, and hope like sparkly that I'll be able to use it.

Have a good Friday all.

AlbaDeTamble · 10/12/2010 13:16

Ooh, Sparkly, you're only a few days ahead of me and it sounds like you might be about to do a big queue jump!! Presumably head too low to measure = nicely engaged...? My GP asked me yesterday if I had my bag packed ready (I don't really, have all the bits, just not assembled Blush) because her first was late and induced and second rather early taking her completely by surprise! I wish.....

Thanks for helping me feel like I'm not mad to be cross about the trip (also Toomuch), I probably won't complain... But needed that rant... Seems such a bad example, it's fine to go out really late on schoolnights and be exhausted the next day Hmm

good luck toomuch with last week at work, hope you get nice end of term wind down and not many last minute requests to get things done.
I'm beginning to wish I'd finished much earlier like bunnybaby... have hardly done anything on my to do list yet, Xmas is fast approaching and I just want to sleep! Better stop waffling on here and get on with it again.....

BunnyBaby · 10/12/2010 14:50

Crochet I felt exactly the same after my MMC, and very envious of newly pregnant friend and colleagues, especially smug bump rubbers. To be fair, they had no idea, and I was overly sensitive and really emotional. I found returning to work after MMC harder than after I'd had DS1 as I simply wasn't pg anymore, and it really hurt. There was no baby. Anyway, one of my friends had just undergone IVF and helped me snap out of it. I would say just to go along and it may feel better once you're there, and it's another mountain you've managed to climb. I feel a lot better now, but was still hormonally funny in the first few months as was still worried about this pregnancy. Now I'm feeling a lot better with just over 2 weeks to go. Especially as bump wriggling and kicking.

Sarah many thank for tips on Posterior, and I'm glad you had a good experience, it boosts my confidence. DS1 could not get up enough momentum in this position to trigger labour, so I had a really tough time of an inducement at 42+3. This time I'm nicely contracting now, two weeks early, though they are not getting more and more painful. It feels like a much nicer build up. Even if I go to due date, my uterus is getting lots of practise. My osteopath was lovely yesterday and told me many babies (like yours and mine after 26 hours) eventually do turn, and that my physical body is in good shape. This time I'll be on all fours and walking rather than being strapped down and monitored. So I have a plan (almost!)

Owl hello and welcome, it will seem like the first few weeks drag up until the 12 week scan but there are lots of wise ladies here with experience of most things.

Happy any news? thinking of you and wishing you good contractions and vibes!

Magic great news on the cardio, and sparkly great news on the growth scan, you can relax more now, the extra looks are reassuring but can cause you to worry in the build up.

Alba you really are having a gut full of London. You've just escaped, and last night were probably really stressed with late night, and rioters with DSD's trip. Glad she is back. I wouldn't worry about finishing early. I've not done a great deal, and everything seems such an effort! Have a half packed bag and really need to get myself into gear.

Littlemiss great news on your scan, I am so pleased for you, not long to go until the next one :)

Unbuffy · 10/12/2010 16:50

Waving me pompoms like mad for HAPPY, YOU GO LADY!! Have been lurking with baby J firmly and permanently attached to one boob so it is hard to post most of the time! However, he is temporarily being cuddled by his daddy so I have my hands to misself! As witness the permanent attachment, he has put on 8 ounces in 6 days. Ouch...

Looking for news from all you end-of-preg ladies, i know it sounds awful and i have a large hole in my stomach and massive bruising instead but I am SO GLAD not to be pregnant any more!!! Obviously i loved it but my goodness those last few weeks... You have my every sympathy and best wishes for happy, trouble-free births as soon as may be. And of course i have a lovely cuddly baby as well, I feel very priveleged for that. (and without meaning to swank, he is soooo cuddly and relaxed and nice Grin)

Will try to keep posting when I have a free booby moment! But am reading avidly!

Gi1da · 10/12/2010 18:19

Ooooo! Happy hope all is going well xx

Toomt congrats on final work countdown, I hope it's an easy wind down for you. I thought I'd get really bored on mat leave but actually am getting into the pace now. Still not managing to find the time to do my yoga and hypnotherapy though - naughty!

Bunny I reckon you'll be before me, not a glimmer of a birthy niggle here lately. Mind you, I'm still waiting for my homebirth kit to be brought round so just as well. Have a mw appt next Weds so will remind them it's supposed to be here by now. Just you stay put mini-G!

Crochet my best friend at work got her bfp for baby number 2 the day after my mc. Pretty awkward but then I'd seen her through pregnancy before and I wanted to be pg that time too (I'm quite a bit older and it took us over 3 years to get there whereas she fell pg first month trying, both times) so was pretty used to having to feel envious pragmatic about it. Did feel easier when I got duffed again, but I don't think we ever felt the same about pregnancy as it was so easy for her and more of an anxious time for me. If this other person is someone you don't really like, then I'd just sit there thinking, god you're an arse, I'm SO glad I'm not you! And suddenly you won't feel so bad no matter how much ostentatious bump rubbing she does! You've got your own life going on, so focus on you and all the good things you have Smile.

Magic glad to hear all is well with spiderbabes.

Littlemiss so glad to hear you had a good scan, can't believe we are on to summer babies already! Bit envious really, I love my bump and it's been too cold to show it off!

Hi Owlbooty and welcome. Re nervousness, ah well, it does get a bit easier after you've had a couple of scans, or maybe you just get so used to feeling anxious you don't really notice it anymore! But we all understand the emotional rollercoaster, and that really helps. Smile

Waves to everyone and a comedy raised eyebrow waggle to everyone at the top of the list... x

Gi1da · 10/12/2010 18:21

And a special wave to Buffs and boobybabyJ too! Smile

buffy my DS was like that. dinky little 6lber at birth, and 13lb at 6 weeks old thanks to gold top boob juice. :o

zayja · 11/12/2010 13:21

Alright, due date is today - but no sign yet the the little stinker is on her way :( dh and I are just gonna have to concentrate on having some fun and keep our minds off obsessing (ha! that should be easy) Well, maybe a bit of cleaning around the house will do the trick, we'll see...
happy hope to hear your great news soon, buffs good to hear from you and baby J. How sweet that he's a little relaxed snuggler. Out of curiosity, how late were you again? A few days?

Congrats also on your healthy scan littlemiss!

BunnyBaby · 12/12/2010 10:59

Hi Muser Yes - the list is very exciting, am awaiting news, especially Happy, as you thought you were getting going a few days ago. December looks like a really busy baby month! How are you feeling, it feels like seconds since I was about to tip into 30 weeks. I remember bump was a nice manageable size, not the space hopper I have now :)

Well done Unbuffy with that fantastic weight gain. It took me ages to establish feeding with DS1, and as a result took a month to regain his birthweight. It was worth it in the end, but am so glad it is working out so well for you!

I've been working more on getting the baby's position better, so have been on all fours and sleeping on left side. I had warm up contractions again for most of the night, but tried to sleep through them, as I remember getting really tired 1st time round thinking 'ooh, this is it!' and it wasn't. I'm going by the mantra that if it's the real deal, I won't be able to sleep through them, and these intermittent ones are good warm ups!

Hope everyone is well? Another frosty night here. DH1 despite scorning me for my love of Christmas lights has lost his humbugs and now wants to buy more outside tat nice christmas lights.

Was really pleased to get a courier delivery today ahead of tomorrow, as won't have to wait in now to get my last bits of Christmas shopping.

Have a lovely day everyone!

BunnyBaby · 12/12/2010 11:03

Ooops meant DH not DH1 (do not have many husbands :) )

HappyGirl1 · 12/12/2010 11:42

Ladies apologies its been a crazy few days. Hoping to get home later and will update u all then properly as on phone now. Thanks so much for all the good luck messages.

Sooo Baby Ciara 8lbs 2oz was born on Fri after 36 hr labour by emerg c section. All perfectly well and ladies at the top of the list it really is all worth it when u meet ur magical baby. Will update u all shortly xx

Muser · 12/12/2010 11:48

Ooooh! Congratulations HappyGirl! Lovely news. Welcome to the world baby Ciara.

I'm ok Bunny, finally stopped throwing up every day! In fact, if you exclude Tuesday and my failed GTT test (and I do) this is my first medication free, completely sickness free week. Hooray! Bump is growing rather nicely. I'm not thinking about how much bigger it might get! Have started organising the flat so we have space for this baby.

Right, new updated list with HappyGirl's good news! Zayja you're top now!
