Baby no 3 due 13th July. Did not come earlier on here as been paranoid about miscarraige (pg 1 and 3 did not work out so reckoned no 5 would not either). Still feel in danger zone as first pg ended at 17 weeks and I did not find out till nearly 20 weeks (Xmas and New Year intervened). Anyway am feeling excited and gotr my energy levels back. Am shocked to hear they are charging (though I was in tears at the relief of seeeing a bouncing baby). So pleased to see a dad to be on here as well. Wish I had come on earlier as wanted to rant about my husband lack of sympathy at my total disinterest in food and exhaustion. But I had a go at him and said that when I said I did not want food it was becasue I felt sick so stop asking. Am doing fine now but had all the symptoms you other fellow julyers have mentioned. Am also 40 so wondering if baby will be ok and off for blood tests this week. Wanted to pay for privatge muchal fold test but had flu and then sinusitis and the hospital was nearly 3 hours drive away and would have had to drive myself there and back on an evening - as it all was hitting Xmas holidays time and we had no childcare options for that period to look after the other kids. So I had to cancel the appointments I had made. Also, some of you ladies sound like your medical care not very helpful (GPs). I only went straight to my midwife so skipped the GP bit. Look forward to hearing more. Oh and who has yet to tell anyone? Onlu my husband and midwife know and am probably going to start telling people next week

JimmyChoo17 · 29/01/2011 18:48

Congrats hidden paw!

I still haven't gone fully public. My close friends all know tho.

How are we all? I have had an awful virus which I can not shift. My second trimester is failing to produce a blooming pregnant jimmychoo yet!!! I've been signed off all week and slept loads. I don't know how I will manage back at work as am no better but find it hard not being in the office.

How are you all doing?

I have a little bump now and hit 16 weeks today. I keep feeling odd pokes when in a certain position am wondering if it's baby. Anyone else feeling movement yet?

thehiddenpaw · 01/02/2011 16:29

Am 17 weeks tomorrow and just started telling people, mixture of fun and apprehension, tell my work this week and that will be fun.... Am feeling loads better, did a few runs this week and back on my bicycle too. Am feeling movement (think it gets more noticeable the more you have) and the kicks are very reassuring. My big thing at the moment is trying to get a swine flu vaccine as want it sorted while I am feeling healthy. Will also be telling my two boys this weekend that they will be geting new baby!

Ozzy1 · 01/02/2011 16:53

Hi, sometimes I think I can feel kicks and then I dont get any for a couple of days, Is this normal? Im 17 weeks on thursday and its my second baby

Ellie9 · 01/02/2011 19:17

Hi,

I am nearly 17 week and am showing quite a bit... my bosses words were 'if that was just too much food at Christmas there would be something wrong!'

Is anyone else really impatient and can't wait for him/her to be born?? This is my first and can't wait! So much so that I have had a gender scan (highly recommend if you are only doing NHS, am looking at childcare and have visited some nurseries, have bought some little clothes etc etc etc.

Also I can feel movements which is awesome, weird but quite nice.

BRING on July!

JimmyChoo17 · 01/02/2011 19:31

I'm not sure if mine are movements are not...can you describe them?? People kept saying it's like when u get gas or trapped wind...now I've never had that believe it or not so am not finding that a good description!!

I went public today finally....was thinking wait unitl 12 weeks...then I was thinking wait until my downs results then once got them was still chicken too tell people. So I just went for it. Everyone that I thought had guessed..hadn't! My trousers don't fit today tho. Got a bump but still quite small and neat ish. Same cannot be said for my butt and thighs.... Grin

There is a right twit at work who always asks if I am pregnant which I find rude. It's not because I look pregnant but because he is a prat and thinks all women are on mission baby. And did I mention he is a prat? :-) anyway I just said yes actually I'm 4 months then told him off for being so effin rude! Anyway I have found it hard to tell certain people....it's actually an awkward thing to tell certain people I suppose. But have had some lovely messages etc from friends and family today and feel really relieved I have said it now. Makes it all seem real!

Just ordered a Doppler to use in these earlier months so will see how get on. My 16 week appointment was very disappointing and mw never played me heartbeat. Was so glad the dr had done it a week earlier.

thehiddenpaw · 02/02/2011 12:58

hi ozzy1 and jimmchoo17- movements. I sometimes notice the baby one day and then not another. If I lie still and am just resting, there is a good chance that I will feel a flutter. But when I am on the go, I never notice. So yes I feel them somedays, very noticeable and other days not at all and it is only when I feel them again, i think, oh yeah, never had any yesterday.
To me, it can feel like butterflies across my tummy, or like a jerk in my stomach and I think did I imagine that- and then realise it was the baby. Anytime you think, what was that, it was probably the baby. I am sure everyone is different. sometimes I definately get a kick in the bladder as it makes me look up and then smile when I realise. I did not notice my baby as much on number 1 and I think by number 2 you are much more aware.

Telling people- I too am hoping to wait for my downs results, if no phone call today, than I am not in the high percentage. It is weird telling some people and I have told a few and had some lovely hugs and grins. Work is the tougher one for me and will be relieved to have it out in the open, my boss will be fine, it is how people treat you if they think you will not be concentrating on work that bothers me more. I have dealt with it already for 2 pregnancies and managed fine but it does take effort on my part to keep people on track and not talking babies. My first pregnancy I was only one of two women in a construction office with 20 men who were all paranoid they would have to deliver one of our babies (she was pregnant too but ahead of me)

JimmyChoo17 · 02/02/2011 19:41

My work have been good but they r starting to leave me out of thing :-( I'll be going back full time so don't want to get shunted out. It's a very male environment at my place......

I think I may have felt baby...like u say if u feel something u have never felt before...that's probably it!! It's not frequent tho.

I'm still very small I think. I was only 5lb2 when I was born and I don't think hubby was big...whether that counts or not.

Girls...suddenly occurred to me today... What should I be doing, standing or preparing at this stage...anything?

What are u doing?

ParisPreMom · 02/02/2011 21:11

Hi everyone!

I'm due on July 8th, and am really looking forward to our second scan on Feb 28 to find out the gender. I too am starting to feel these little bubbly pokes now and again and felt a really clear one the other night in bed while reading. One friend said it reminded her of Mexican jumping beans and it's kind of true!

As for getting prepared, I'm starting to ask around to people who have babies if they have things they want to sell/give away, and am getting ready to call the daycare service here in Paris and pre-register at 6 months in the HOPES that we'll get a spot somewhere. Planning visits from my parents in July and August...buying maternity pants, as I don't fit in anything anymore!

I've told all my family and close friends, but am hesitating whether to do a Facebook announcement or not to people I know but wouldn't call specifically to announce it. Tacky/not tacky? I don't want to make anyone feel left out when they see pics of my baby on there a few months from now, but dont want to assume that everyone would care about my pregnancy either. Any thoughts?

JimmyChoo17 · 02/02/2011 21:23

I resisted the f book status because wary of something going wrong and everyone knowing but also wasn't sure about being tacky.

I decided to go for it.....I am so glad I did!!! The response and nice messages were just what I needed!! Ii also found 5 other pregnant friends that I had no idea they were!! 2 of which are local and due in July so great for me!!

Unless you don't like people knowing stuff via facebook, I would say go for it. Since doing it...it feels miles more real and people are now more understanding.

Congrats!!

I'm due 16 th July in the uk xxx

JimmyChoo17 · 02/02/2011 21:24

Ps make sure all family, extended family and important friends know otherwise it might back fire! I made sure all important people knew including work as I am friends on there with my boss x

Vix286 · 05/02/2011 09:22

Hi All, hope everyone is OK. Scan went well, have kept my EDD of 23rd Jul and it all seems on track. Downs risk is 1:21,000 so that is good.

Am 16+1 today and I am still in my own clothes but going to invest in some maternity trousers today in case it suddenly pops out!

Anyone seen Lizandlulu anywhere? We had scans on same day and she hasn't posted again although neither have I!

JimmyChoo17 · 05/02/2011 10:28

Glad scan went well!

I am wearing my clothes but with buttons undone! Mat clothes are too big but am just really starting to get a little bigger. I ordered some stuff online last night as it's was too windy out there today!

I ordered a Doppler and it's been great being able to hear little bubs heartbeat at home! Was only £16!

Is anyone vying baby gear yet?

JimmyChoo17 · 05/02/2011 10:29

Excuse spelling my ipads got it's own ideas about what am typing!!!

JimmyChoo17 · 07/02/2011 21:56

Where are all the july mums to be and dad to be? Confused

Low blood pressure and the horrid effects have kicked in at 17 weeks 2 days....

Greeeeeaaaaattt!

Ozzy1 · 07/02/2011 22:55

Me too Jimmy, had low blood pressure with my first and was really hoping would be fine this time but alas no!

posypom · 08/02/2011 11:52

I'm due 27th July with my first so now 15+6.

What do you do with the doppler machines? How early can you hear a heartbeat?

tel1 · 09/02/2011 11:01

hi guys, I'm due the 31st July apparently due to my scan dates. Feel totally ok, which I'm finding very off putting, as still paranoid I'm going to loss it. We haven't told anyone yet, and as the weather is cold, the slight bump can be hidden under jumpers...
My 12 wke scan came out at 1:300 for DS, so not in the danger area, but still not as high as I would have liked (though I am 42)....
just made a appointment to see midwife on Monday, as otherwise I wasn't booked to see her until 28th feb, and I couldn't wait that long, just for some reassurance really.
so looking forward to feeling movement, and then I might feel like it is actually going to happen (this is a long, long awaited 3 child).
still awaiting date of 20 wke scan. My dates are so muddled up that I've had to do all the scan appointments myself, which is a stress I didn't need.
Quite like the idea of a doppler, though as I'm still so paranoid about loosing it, I'm finding myself holding back on buy things...
what I'm dreaming off, if having the a okay from all the scans, and then spring coming, so I can walk out in a t-shirt, and everyone going, ooohh are you pregnant.!... maybe then I'll believe

JimmyChoo17 · 09/02/2011 20:11

I didn't believe it for weeks due previous losses...made myself go public which really helped, but his is my first child.

Dopplers "can" pick up the heartbeat from 12 weeks but they usually advise using them from 14 weeks. I got mine at 16 weeks and found heartbeat fairly easily and today am 17 w 4 days and it was like listening to a drum!!! Friend got hers today and picked hers up at 14 weeks fine.

Ozzy1 how have u found dealing with low blood pressure? I wonder if a trapped nerve I have is not helping too! Have been told can work from home when needed which I have only used once as need to be in office at moment!! But when feeling bad like today, I have stayed off.

Tel1 I get what u mean about wanting to feel off to feel pregnant but as I have been suffering loads recently I would say make the most of it!!

JimmyChoo17 · 09/02/2011 20:19

Posypom u just hold it to your bump or bump area and listen out for baby's heartbeat. It might take some moving about and getting used to it if u r let's say, bigger it might take some finding due to extra layer. I didn't use the headphone I got with mine as not very good but my iPod ones are brilliant for listening! U need some gel too to put on your belly. All in all cost £20 including gel and helps me if worrying something is wrong but anyone considering buying one must realise u might not always pick it up or may not be able to during earlier weeks. If u r prepared for that then I would say get one for peace of mind. I thought I would have it glued to be but I feel bad poking bubs so have been quite food really. This morning I just rested it on bump so no pressure and I listed for ages..prob Bout 30mins!!

Stay positive, your baby is here to stay xx

JimmyChoo17 · 09/02/2011 20:20

Quite good not food!! Excuse typos and predictive text going wrong above! Hopefully u het the gist of what I am saying...poxy predictive text.....grrrrr!

gorgielondon · 10/02/2011 18:59

How much weight have other people put on? I was doing quite well until about 10 days ago, when my weight started to increase much quicker. I'm 17+ and have gained about 7lbs.

pastababe · 10/02/2011 19:35

glad to hear that others are feeling unsure - 19 weeks now, bb 3 but this comes after 3 losses so am really holding back on telling people - even if it's getting obvious. Next week should have an important scan and after that I think it's definitely time to tell and start relaxing..... but until then, trying not to think too much - which is obviously impossible - just look at the chat im in

JimmyChoo17 · 10/02/2011 22:17

I still worry day to day - even tho I am really feeling movements now!

Mmmm last time I had checked about 4lbs but I havent weighed myself in a while so might find out Ive put a lot more on now which I would not be surprised at as bump is progressing now...can ust see my toes when looking down but the bit above bump and below boobs seems to have gained weight even tho I am not eating bad and still keeping up walking etc :(

JimmyChoo17 · 10/02/2011 22:24

anyone suffering with low blood pressure? Trapped nerves?

Started feeling those little squirms and kicks yet? They are lovely! Cant wait to feel them more often.

:)
