Emmy if u look at my previous posts and also my fluctuating symptoms thread, you'll see us all worrying about loss of symptoms.

Mine disappeared and returned each week. I have had two previous losses si I understand your concern.

One thing I have learnt this time round is that I never actually feel pregnant.....just always feel under the weather whether that's headaches or nausea or tiredness or sore boobs. I usually get some relief or eased off symptoms each week.

I still worry and I have had 2 scans already! I have another private one this week as won't se e baby until much later due to being away.

mummycooper · 11/12/2010 13:21

im due on 15th july so excited cant wait, its nice to have a summer baby xx

JimmyChoo17 · 11/12/2010 13:35

I'm July 15 too mummy cooper! How are u feeling?

I hope it's nice weather but not too hot...I remember my sis in law giving birth in a heatwave!!! Was not nice for her!

Ellie9 · 11/12/2010 18:28

Lovely to read this thread about all the mums to be....

I am due July 10th apparently but it does not seem entirely real until I have a scan which will be on 24/12. Hopefully all will be ok, does that seem right that I am having my first scan at 11 weeks and 5 days?? I am very new at this so pretty much have no idea how this all works!

I seem to have gone off all food completely, is this the same with anyone else? I used to be a huge foodie but now cannot stomach anything and even opening the fridge makes me feel very sick. I have actually lost weight! Any ideas on avoiding sickness??

Aside from sickness all day my boobs have tripled in size already and I am so tired!

It is lovely to have a moan as I can't tell anyone yet so nice to say it all somewhere!!

take care and congrats to all the Mums to be due in July!!

JimmyChoo17 · 11/12/2010 18:33

Congrats Ellie yes I am pretty much off everything and can only stomach carbs!!! I am totally off chicken which is odd as I live off it Normally! Not sure how I will fare with turkey.

Have had every symptom going but change from week to week.

Welcome to the July club!!! Grin

cara2244 · 11/12/2010 23:12

Hi, I am due on 12th July and have a son already who will be two next week. Horrendous morning sickness which feels worse than last time....or maybe I have forgotten how bad it was. I crave foods and then can only eat a couple of mouthfuls and have to try and force the rest down. Feel sick from morning til night.

Any tips from second timers on how to cope with morning sickness and a toddler? What with the snow last week and feeling so poorly, I felt like all I did was watch films with him. I also struggle to cook anything so his diet is suffering! Poor thing, he has to go along with my food whims. Fish is this week!

KangaRue · 11/12/2010 23:56

Hi everyone!

I'm approx. 7 weeks pregnant and only found out a few days ago. After coming off the pill I hadn't had a period, so went to see a fertility gynaecolagist, and when he did a scan for cysts etc, he discovered I was pregnant. So need to firm up my delivery date, but it should be mid July.

I'm tired, and having achey period-pain like cramps every now and again, sore breasts, but otherwise feel fine.

Are people telling their friends yet? I'm finding it really difficult not to say anything, as I'm really excited.

johnnyd1 · 12/12/2010 01:45

My wife is hopefully due on July 28th 2011. so far she has experienced light bright red bleeding (which has been checked by the doc and ultrasound), nausea, vomiting, sore breasts and tiredness!!!! we are due for a second scan on mon 20th dec to check if everything is okay. with all the signs my wife is showing at the mo' we are hoping everything is good. she has a luteal cyst which apparently the scanographer is very pleased and hopeful about as it helps feed the baby apparently

johnnyd1 · 12/12/2010 02:04

Only me again! I know this seems more the place for ladies than us blokes but I just wondered if it is normal for a bloke (husband) to feel sympathy pains! when my wife says she is feeling tired so do I, sore stomach - me too, etc. altho I havent wept yet (apart from when man utd lose!!!!). she is going to be a wonderful mother but is it right that everyday i just hope there is no miscarriage, especially after her bright red blood and the doc suggesting it could be a 'threatened miscarriage' (although next day they said at the scan all looked really good and my wife, as previously stated, is going through all the 'right' symptoms - vomiting, nausea, tired, sore boobs, craving mints, cheese and ham pasty, a mackie d's and pop (she always had water but its making her feel sick now!)
I wish all the July 'mums-to-be' the very best and hope we can all keep in touch as I am on here on behalf of my wife (she found out yesterday!) to find out similar symptoms. luckily im a drama tutor in salford so am going to make sure our baby is going to be very physical and creative rather than a pc baby!!! am also going to make him/her a member of man u and hopefully a mascot - our 2 yr old niece already has a full kit!!!! my luv to you all x

lizandlulu · 12/12/2010 08:00

hiya everyone, i love hearing everyone elses experiencesXmas Smile

kangarue i have been telling people already. i too am so excited i just cant keep my mouth shut and find it really hard to lie when people ask why i am not drinking if i am out, or just how i am in general.

i am feeling really bloated and my jeans all all feeling uncomfortable. i succumbed and bought some maternity jeans yesterday. i do already have the over bump ones but dont feel that i can justify wearing them yet, so just some with just stretchy sides from peacocks. they feel soo comfy. its a shame i cant remember when i started to wear maternity last time. i feel abit stupid wearing or buying them as i think it is far soo early to be getting bigger, but i am not going to be uncomfy

laurieleigh · 12/12/2010 09:38

hi all, my first post on here as feeling the need to talk!
i'm due on july 29th with my first and we haven't told anybody yet - planning on telling the grandparents on christmas day when i'll be 9 weeks. still not sure if that's too early - just so scared of something going wrong as we've had friends who've miscarried and you read/hear so many stories.

lizandlulu · 12/12/2010 10:51

hiya laurieleigh congratulationsXmas Smile i was going to keep my news for christmas day too, thought it was a lovely idea. but most of my close friends already know. i think i am going to use facebook to announce it to the world though on christmas dayXmas Grin

i am sure 9 weeks isnt too early to tell, but you must do what you want to do and feel comfortable with it

cara2244 · 12/12/2010 22:09

Tight jeans here too (more like can't do them up!). Try a hairband through the buttonhole and then hook it over the button. It gives you a few more weeks in them. I had loads of nice maternity stuff last time but sold it all or gave it away aaarrgghh! Wasn't meant to be having anymore :-)

Kerri1983 · 13/12/2010 14:55

Cara2244

I am due 12th July and have a little boy who was 2 on 6th December!!!

From your previous post it looks like we are living identical lives!!!!

I spend most of my days on the sofa while litle one watches various dvd's, he eats anything that doesn't require much cooking and it very low odour!!!!

I do feel really guilty that mummy is no fun at the moment.

How are you managing?

Kerri

alichicka · 13/12/2010 19:47

Hi!
Totally new to MN and expecting my first child on July 21st! So excited!

Went to Dr at 7 weeks and am still waiting to hear anything back about Booking Appointment (will be 10 weeks on Wednesday this week). Anyone else had to wait like this? I live in Orpington and one of the local hospitals has just shut its Maternity Dept, so i bet this is causing the delay.
I rang the Dr to 'chase' the appointment and was told by receptionist that you don't see a midwife until after 20wks- which i know form NHS website is definitely not true! I'm sure your are supposed to have booking appointment around 8-10 weeks.

I just really want 'someone medical/ professional' to see me and to know that i'm doing the right things etc/ that everything is going alright as this is my first and i am feeling out of my depth!

DH is going to ring local hospital Maternity Dept tomorrow to try and chase things that way. It's really hard for me to ring from work as I am teacher and nobody even knows about pregnancy yet.

Good luck to all you other mums-to-be!

lizandlulu · 13/12/2010 21:02

hiya alichicka i have certainly never heard of waiting that long to see a midwife! especially as you are supposed to have a scan around 12 weeksHmm

get on their cases!

alichicka · 15/12/2010 17:16

Nagging has got me a booking appointment for 2nd Jan- phew!

lizandlulu · 15/12/2010 20:08

good!!! it must be a weight off your vmind to know that you are going to be seeing someone soon.

i have had the booking appointment today with the midwife, the same one as when i had dd which is nice. all she did was ask questions and fill out the paper work, take blood and urine sample and decide which hospital i would like to go to.

got to wait for lincoln hospital to get in touch with a scan date

cara2244 · 15/12/2010 20:44

Kerri, hi good to know someone is sharing my pain! I have had to take the rest of this week off work as been dragging myself in and getting iller and iller...they were very understanding when I explained about the morning sickness. I've also packed my LO off to his nana's until Friday :-( Did nothing all day and felt OK when lying in bed....but walking around makes me feel sick. Ate 3 bowls of pasta with mozzarella cheese. Nothing else.

lizandlulu · 15/12/2010 20:47

hope you feel better soon cara2244 was you like this with your LO?

JimmyChoo17 · 17/12/2010 21:11

how are we all July mummies?

Had private scan yesterday worth every penny to settle my mind and see my bean dancing and hear his heartbeat!

How are we all? Symptom updates? Bump updates? Scans? How is the husband in the camp doing? Grin

johnnyd1 · 17/12/2010 22:00

hey jimmychoo - im fine thanks, my wife has a second scan on monday morning (should be about 8-9 weeks now - my wife has done nowt but vomit and eat burger king! for the past week or so). Does anyone know if there's any food that wont make my wife vomit!!!!!

JimmyChoo17 · 17/12/2010 22:06

I am similar I puke after eating most things but pizza and macdonalds and any carbs are fine! I hate mcdonalds I should add....it had eased off but now I'm getting back! Am 9 weeks4 days and vomiting has def got better so I hope she's the same. Satsumas are Good and easy to eat? How are your sympathy pains doing Smile am trying to get my hubby in on this but he's not playing.

Is this your first? I think he feels a little scared and out of the picture a little. Be good to hear a males perspective on it!?!

johnnyd1 · 17/12/2010 22:34

Well, if I'm honest Im trying to think level-headed and wont really feel its real til we see the second scan on monday! However i am dying to tell parents, etc...!
As for sympathy, well yep i certainly have it! im trying to keep her rested and doing all the housework/shopping she'd normally do (!) and have just been to the shop for her (satsumas, fruit pastilles and wine gums!). i actually felt a stomach ache when she first got pregnant and have had similar experiences to her.
If all looks good Monday then, altho it will be early days (we have the 12 week scan jan 13th) i think there will be a small celebration :-)
This is our first (hopefully) so it will be spoilt rotten. if its a girl she will be a man utd member and mascot (and same if it's a boy). im an acting tutor so, as my parents allowed me freedom of choice to decide what i wanted to do, i want to offer this for our baby too (my wife and i arent bothered if our baby is male or female btw)

Vix286 · 18/12/2010 08:11

Hi All,

Booking appointment this week, I'm now 9+1 and should find out when I get the scan which may make this feel real!!!

Has anybody else had the experience of telling someone they are pg and had the prson say "I knew it, I can see it in your face" - WTF is that about???

Now due to morning sickness, trying to eat more healthy and no wine I have lost a couple of pounds and several ppl have commented on my weight loss!! So its not a bump they are seeing.

Is it because people feel the need to appear observant? Am I just feeling hormonally irrational?

Any help gratefully received!!
